SOS: Am I right when Parsing an IP address this way?

Hello dear, My question is: I intend to parse a string into an ip address. Following is the code snippet implementing my intention. But It returns false all the time I am nearly crazy! Help me out,please!
     //parse the ip address
     //the ipString stores the string presentation of the ip address.
     String[] ipParsed=ipString.split(".");
     if(ipParsed.length!=4)
          return false;
     //intSection stores each of the four parts of
     //the ip address,in the integer form.
     int intSection;
     for(int i=0;i<ipParsed.length;i++){
            intSection=Integer.parseInt(ipString);
     //limit each integer between 0 and 255
     if(intSection<0||intSection>255)
     return false;
Maybe the split() method is not the best way doing this.But I thought it is not its default.
Thank you!

You don't need to roll this one yourself. The InetAddress class can parse address for you. If you give it a numeric address such as "123.45.67.8" it doesn't try to look it up. If you provide a domain based address such as "www.google.com" it will look it up.
eg.
import java.net.InetAddress;
public class TestInet
        public static void main(String[] args)
                try
                        InetAddress ia = InetAddress.getByName("123.45.67.8");
                        byte[] ba = ia.getAddress();
                        for(int i=0; i< ba.length; i++)System.out.println(ba);
catch(Exception e){e.printStackTrace();}

  • Just recently bought an Apple Magic Mouse and noticed that it wiggles from left to right when I hold it a certain way. It does so ever so slightly so I'm afraid that it might be a defective product. I'm really careful and haven't dropped it at all.

    Can anybody else replicate this issue? The top polycarbonate plate with the apple logo on top (not the aluminum part) wiggles from left to right ever so slightly when looking at it I noticed it does this. Not typical of any apple products I've ever owned.

    Not quite with you, I'm afraid.   Is it the mouse itself which wiggles or is it the cursor on the screen.
    I really don't mean offence but the mouse ain't going to wiggle unless you have magical powers   ... but the cursor may, if, for example, the batteries are not solidly seated or connected.   Some are very sensitive and take getting used to.
    If it is the cursor, you could try removing and cleaning all contact points and when you replace the batteries make sure they are tightly seated.  Oh, and I forgot to mention; is the green light steady or does it flicker?

    when i start my computer for the first time as soon as the wi-fi connects firefox opens, usually with a full screen and its always turbo tax, then i cleared my cookies, and now i get a posture pedic page, every single time i restart or shut down and turn on my computer

  • I can not get the phone to turn back on. My email had been blinking off so I tried turning it off. After holding down top button and bottom button it the apple sign came up then went out as it has before when I have approached it this way. But now no go.

    My phone is dead it will not turn back on after taking a step I have used in the past when I have had issues with the phone. In the past I haeld the top button and the button on the face down and it will turn black then the apple sign comes up then off. I can then turn it back on and it seems to be reset and all is good not so today. It will not turn back on.

    1. Plug phone into AC adaptor and charge for at least 30 minutes
    2. If not on, reset phone: press both home and power buttons for at least 10 seconds, releasing when the Apple logo appears.
    If no reponse to above, there is hardware damage and you need to take it to Apple or whoever provides iPhone service in your country.

  • Bypass  login screen when parse HTML

    Hello all and hope you can help or point me to the right direction
    I have a simple application that reads all HTML Link from a given URL, open that URLs and parse the text in these pages using HTML EditorKit.
    Some URLs invoke a login screen which of course terminates the program.
    Is there any way I can bypass login information? Or automatically pass the right parameters?
    Is there any way that a browser can be invoked when encounter login pages, fill the right credentials and continue with the program?
    Thanks

    Is there any way I can bypass login information? No... kinda defeats the point of having a login page if you could.
    Or automatically pass the right parameters?
    Is there any way that a browser can be invoked when
    encounter login pages, fill the right credentials and
    continue with the program?Yes... if you know what those parameters are, it should be possible. You can submit form information to a URL using Java so provided you can get the form's URL when parsing the logon page then you can post the parameters necessary to get the redirect link.
    Whether it will actually work in a practical sense as the redirect maybe to a secure connection etc I don't know as I've never tried.

  • Unable to display tree view; Error when parsing an XML document (Premature end of file.)

    Hi folks,
    I am using a cascaded mapping in my OM. I have a graphical mapping followed by the Java mapping. It is a flat file to IDOC mapping. Everything works fine in Dev but when I transport the same objects to QA, the Operation mapping though it doesn't fail in ESR testing tool, gives the following message and there is no output generated for the same payload which is successfully tested in DEV. Please advise on what could be the possible reasons.
    Unable to display tree view; Error when parsing an XML document (Premature end of file.)

    kalyan,
    There seems to be an invalid xml payload which causes this error in ESR not generating the tree view. Please find the similar error screenshot and rectify the payload.

    this is my java-programm-code:

    import org.xml.sax.helpers.*;
    /*IMPORT statement imports the specified classes and its methods into the program */
    /Every Java mapping program must implement the interface StreamTransformation and its methods execute() and setParameter() and extend the class DefaultHandler./
    public class Mapping extends DefaultHandler implements StreamTransformation {
    Below is the declaration for all the variables we are going to use in the
    subsequent methods.
         private Map map;
         private OutputStream out;
         private boolean input1 = false;
         private boolean input2 = false;
         private int number1;

         private int addvalue;
         private int mulvalue;
         private int subvalue;
         String lineEnd = System.getProperty("line.separator");
    setParamater() method is used to store the mapping object in the variable

    The exception is occurring when parsing the Content-Disposition header.
    I don't see that header in the list of headers you provided.
    Can you save the entire message to a text file using
    msg.writeTo(new FileOutputStream("msg.txt"));
    Then look for the Content-Disposition header in msg.txt. Most likely you'll
    find that it is incorrectly formatted - as the exception says, there's a comma
    in a place that a semicolon is expected.

    Sorry to disappoint you, but this isn't MacWorld.
    when I want to write @ I have to press g instead of the @ key
    Are you sure you don't have to press ⌥-G (Option-G) to get @?
    Anyway, sounds like a keyboard/keyboard layout mismatch.
    Go to System Preferences > Language & Text > Input Sources. From "Select input methods to use" enable (check) the following
    Keyboard & Character Viewer
    U.S.
    Spanish
    Spanish - ISO
    Also enable "Show Input menu in menu bar".
    The Input menu should appear to the right of your menu bar, with the icon of a national flag. From this menu, choose "Show Keyboard Viewer". Then compare the layout displayed by Keyboard Viewer with the label on your MBP's keyboard. If it doesn't match, choose a different layout from the Input menu.
    My suspicion is that you're using a US keyboard with a Spanish keyboard layout, hence the difference you noted.

  • Problem finding DTD when parsing

    Document propertiesDoc = builder.parse(source);I get this error:

    Thanks in advance.

    Presumably you have a URL that returns you the XML
    string. If the proprietors of the server have set
    things up correctly, their server should also return
    you the DTD from the same "directory" as the XML. So
    if you give this URL to the parser, it should be able
    to find the DTD on the server. That's assuming that
    (as I said) the server is set up correctly. If it
    isn't, you should contact them and tell them so.
    (However I have not found in the past that pointing

    mistakes.)
    If that fails then use the EntityResolver. Sounds like
    you have a local copy of the DTD to point it at.
    Thanks, that makes sense. I'm the one running the server, it's just a test server, and I wouldn't be surprised if it's not set up right. I'll take a look into that. If not, I'll try the EntityResolver. Thanks for your .help

  • Persisting unexplained errors when parsing XML with schema validation

    Hi,
    I am trying to parse an XML file including XML schema validation. When I validate my .xml and .xsd in NetBeans 5.5 beta, I get not error. When I parse my XML in Java, I systematically get the following errors no matter what I try:
    i) Document root element "SQL_STATEMENT_LIST", must match DOCTYPE root "null".
    ii) Document is invalid: no grammar found.
    The code I use is the following:
    try {
    Document document;
    DocumentBuilderFactory factory = DocumentBuilderFactory.newInstance();
    factory.setValidating(true);
    factory.setNamespaceAware(true);
    DocumentBuilder builder = factory.newDocumentBuilder();
    document = builder.parse( new File(PathToXml) );
    My XML is:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <xs:schema xmlns:xs="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema">
    <!-- Defining the SQL_STATEMENT_LIST element -->
    <xs:element name="SQL_STATEMENT_LIST" type= "SQL_STATEMENT_ITEM"/>
    <xs:complexType name="SQL_STATEMENT_ITEM">
    <xs:sequence>
    <xs:element name="SQL_SCRIPT" minOccurs="0" maxOccurs="unbounded"/>
    </xs:sequence>
    </xs:complexType>
    <!-- Defining simple type ApplicationType with 3 possible values -->
    <xs:simpleType name="ApplicationType">
    <xs:restriction base="xs:string">
    <xs:enumeration value="DawningStreams"/>
    <xs:enumeration value="BaseResilience"/>
    <xs:enumeration value="BackBone"/>
    </xs:restriction>
    </xs:simpleType>
    <!-- Defining the SQL_SCRIPT element -->
    <xs:element name="SQL_SCRIPT" type= "SQL_STATEMENT"/>
    <xs:complexType name="SQL_STATEMENT">
    <xs:sequence>
    <xs:element name="NAME" type="xs:string"/>
    <xs:element name="TYPE" type="xs:string"/>
    <xs:element name="APPLICATION" type="ApplicationType"/>
    <xs:element name="SCRIPT" type="xs:string"/>
    <!-- Making sure the following element can occurs any number of times -->
    <xs:element name="FOLLOWS" type="xs:string" minOccurs="0" maxOccurs="unbounded"/>
    </xs:sequence>
    </xs:complexType>
    </xs:schema>
    and my XML is:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>

    Hi,
    I found the solution in the following post:
    Validate xml with DOM - no grammar found
    Sep 17, 2003 10:58 AM
    The solution is to add a line of code when parsing:
    try {
    Document document;
    DocumentBuilderFactory factory = DocumentBuilderFactory.newInstance();
    factory.setValidating(true);
    factory.setNamespaceAware(true);
    factory.setAttribute("http://java.sun.com/xml/jaxp/properties/schemaLanguage", "http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema");
    DocumentBuilder builder = factory.newDocumentBuilder();
    document = builder.parse( new File(PathToXml) );
    The errors are gone !!!
