this is my first post so greetings everyone.
I have a X-Fi Elite Pro and serious problems with Dolby Digital 5., if it comes from konsoles like XBOX 360 and PS3. As speakers I use the Gigaworks S750.
I will give my best to describe it, but I'm not an expert in the english language:
Whenever loud soundeffects come from a game, than the sound rumbles with a very high tone in one of the speakers. For example crashing into a wall in a racing-game. This happens only with Dolby Digital in 5.. Not with DD Stereo or DTS and for some reason not DD 5., if it's from a movie.
What I have tried:
Replacing the Elite Pro card with a X-Fi Extreme Music (my old one)
Replacing the entire kit with a new Elite Pro (now I have two)
Replacing cables
Other drivers
Other OS (WinXP SP3 32Bit, Win7 64Bit)
Nothing works. Both the PS3 and the XBOX 360 have that, except games that have DTS. So on the XBOX 360, the problem is there with every game.
I don't know what to do. I have thought about an external decoder like the DDTS-00. But my original idea was to use the PC for everything.
Please help me!

Long time on buffer sort with a insert and select through a dblink

I am doing a fairly simple "insert into select from" statement through a dblink, but something is going very wrong on the other side of the link. I am getting a huge buffer sort time in the explain plan (line 9) and I'm not sure why. When I try to run sql tuning on it from the other side of the dblink, I get an ora-600 error "ORA-24327: need explicit attach before authenticating a user".

Why are you selecting distinct? If this is for ETL or data warehouse related procedure it ain't a good idea to use distinct... well ever... it's horrible for performance.

Can I host my music or photos on a server and still sync with my iPhone and iPad through my MacBook Pro?

My new MacBook Pro does not have enough room on the Flash drive to hold all my photos and music. So I want to save them to a server, yet still be able to sync with iTunes on my MacBook Pro. Any ideas?

Nevermind. I see you can change the location of your music files. I'll try that.

Configuring RAS and TACACS+. through ACS.

I have very basic question about
configuring RAS with digital modems
and AAA through TACACS+. I use
command peer default ip address pool OLA under interface Group-Async0 and interface Dialer10
for example. And inside router I configure this pool with some range of
IP addresses...for example
ip local pool OLA 192.168.10.2 192.168.10.127.
And I set AAA through TACACS+.
What should I do next on ACS ? Should I configure this pool of IP addresses on ACS or it is sufficient to do it only on router? Or do this on router is not important ?

I have configured RAS for dial-in services where we authenticated the dial-in users via TACACS and ACS. I did not have to do anything on ACS about the dial pool. The only thing that I had to do on ACS was to configure it to authenticate users whose authentication request came from that router. (In other words nothing special on ACS just because they were dial-in.) Just be sure that your aaa on the router provides for authenticating ppp.

Means you cannot make that the signal in a mode 5. in an audiocard a signal was coded in AC3 or DTS for digital exits?

You need to turn on Printer Sharing on both the PC and OS X. I can't help you on Vista but in OS X it's System Preferences - Sharing - check the Printer Sharing box.

I have shut down the computer, I have unplugged it, I have turned iPhoto off and nothing will allow me to name these remaining photos. I type in the name and click RETURN and the name holds, I close the photo and bring it back and the name is gone. I have done this dozen of times - still no luck. I have a few other photos of groups and the same thing is happening with just a few of the faces. All the faces are clear, same size and no different in clarity than the other faces. I have tried changing the size of the "box" around the photo to name it - still no luck.
I am on the ground floor so I can not throw the computer out the window.

Im wondering why my post hasn't been answered yet. I did file a report with the BBB and I had a rude representative from Verizon call me named Steve. He said I can file all of the reports I want and I will just keep getting calls from him. I can understand why my phone couldn't be replaced because of the small crack. I guess I have to eat that one (but it sucks because the lollipop update is what caused the problems) but what about all of the data overage I had to pay for for trying to fix this phone because of a lollipop update. Updates come through Software Update not the App Store. If you have to reinstall Lion that is done via Internet Recovery.

i tried reseting my ipod today and had a similar problem... it wont be recognized by itunes, the only thing i havent tried is putting it into DFU mode, or the state that it is in when u recieve it telling u to connect it to itunes.i recommend putting it into DFU mode. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=34v8HMC9B98 this should better explain it. if i find another way, ill keep u updated

When i bought my iPhone and my iPad they both were on iOS 7.0.2 i updated them shortly after thinking the new iOS 7.0.4 was better. i see its not but they both worked great with iTunes before and after the update. My question is why is my iPhone not connecting to iTunes? it will not connect through USB or wifi and i know that the setting to do that is turned on. my iPad connects through iTunes through wifi but not USB. This isnt making any sense but i wanna know is this a iTunes issue? or is it my phone and iPad??

This can sometimes be the result of a faulty/damaaged USB sync cable. Do you have another cable you could test it out with?

Through my iCal calendar I decided to share my entries with my husband and I thought I was doing everything that was prompted of me to do but not only can I not find "us" or the URL address in the internet but I no longer have ANY CALENDAR ENTRIES!grrrrr

If there is anybody out there who can help me find my iCal entries from this week forward I would soooo appreciate it! I decided to "share" calendars with my husband and in doing so I have lost my appointments and can't find the URL or http:// blah,blah anywhere. I looked through my Time Capsule and of course nothing is there (it shows what exists now in the calendar which is nothing), I looked in iCloud and I don't know how to retrieve my stuff. Thank you in advance for your help. I really don't like these things because I am not very good at them. What I would think is simple every time becomes a huge mess and wasted life.

As iCloud does not have your calendars we have two options:
Contact Apple ASAP and ask them to see if they have a backup copy of your calendar data which they can restore from the server to iCloud. It's not Apple's responsibility to maintain backups of your data but most servers have a backup of some type. The challenge is that those backups probably get refreshed fairly quickly so you need to contact them fast so they can put a request in to whoever manages the iCloud servers (it might not be possible but its worth asking). http://www.apple.com/support/icloud/contact/
Something you can do right now:If you have a Time Capsule that suggests you are running Time Machine which backs up your entire computer (else why have a Time Capsule).
Make an iCal backup of what you still have: Click on each calendar on the left hand side of iCal one at a time highlighting it's name and then going to File Export > Export and saving the resulting calendar file to a logical location for safekeeping.
Go to Calendars > Go Offline
Go to iCal > Quit iCal
Quit all open applications
Click anywhere on your desktop
Go to the "Go" menu at the top of the screen and hold down the "option / alt" key on your keyboard.
Click on the "library" option in the menu.
While in the Library go to the Time Machine menu at the top right corner of your computer screen (Little clock face with an arrow going around it in a circle) and click "Enter Time Machine".
In Time Machine click on the the time line running down the right hand side of the screen to choose a date / time when you are 100% confident that iCal had the events you are looking for.
Once you've gone to the date you want, highlight the "Calendars" folder in the Library window.
Click the button that says "restore" in the bottom right.
Once the restore is complete, open iCal and see if your events are there.
If the events are there, Click on each calendar on the left hand side of iCal one at a time highlighting it's name and then going to File Export > Export and saving the resulting calendar file to your desktop.
If the events are not there, go back into Time Machine and try an earlier date.
Once the calendars are restored to iCal and you've exported a copy out, go to Calendars > Go online
If the events vanish you can re-import them from the copies you exported to the desktop.

Be careful, when you connect the iPhone to your mac, unless you have saved the photos. Synced photos may easily be accidentally deleted by syncing again. And do not enable iCloud Photo Library (Beta), that will erase synced photos as well. Synced Photos are not included in the device backups.
Set your iTunes Preferences to "Devices > Prevent iPos, iPhones, iPads from syncing automatically". Otherwise iTunes may launch and sync your iPhone with an empty iPhoto library the moment you connect it.
Unfortunately, it is not possible to sync the synced photos back. Apple recommends to mail them back, but that would be a lot of clicking (iTunes: Syncing photos - Apple Support). You could also share them to a Shared Album, but a third party app like TD recommended, will be better.

Yes, it could be spam. I get spam text from time to time. Yes, you both could have gotten the same spam at the same time. Spammers re sending out thousands and thousands of messages.
