Source of data for custom tables in Oracle Apps
Hi,
Is there any way to find the source of data for the Custom tables. The source can be either any function, procedure, package or a trigger or any other process. The reason why I need to know about it is because we have some custom tables that are used by some custom Reports. Sometimes those reports comes out blank because the data in these custom tables is blank. So I need to know which processes are populating data in these custom tables. Any help would be really appreciated !!
Thanks,
KM

How to populate date & time when user enter data for custom table in sm30
Can anyone tell me How to populate system date & time when user enter data for custom table in sm30..
Req is
i have custom table and using sm30 user can enter data.
after saving date i want to update date & time in table
Pls let me know where to write the code?
Thanks in AdvanceYou have to write the code in EVENT 01 in SE54 transaction. Go to SE54, enter your Ztable name and in the menu 'Environment-->Events'. Press 'ENTER' to go past the popup message. In the next screen, click on 'New Entries'. In the first column, enter 01 and in the next column give some name for your routine(say UPDATE_USER_DATE_TIME). Then click on the souce code icon that appears in blue at the end of the row. In the code, you need logic like below.
FORM update_user_date_time.
DATA: f_index LIKE sy-tabix.
DATA: BEGIN OF l_total.
INCLUDE STRUCTURE zztable.
INCLUDE STRUCTURE vimtbflags.
DATA END OF l_total.
DATA: s_record TYPE zztable.
LOOP AT total INTO l_total.
IF l_total-vim_action = aendern OR
l_total-vim_action = neuer_eintrag.
MOVE-CORRESPONDING l_total TO s_record.
s_record-zz_user = sy-uname.
s_record-zz_date = sy-datum.
s_record-zz_time = sy-uzeit.
READ TABLE extract WITH KEY l_total.
IF sy-subrc EQ 0.
f_index = sy-tabix.
ELSE.
CLEAR f_index.
ENDIF.
MOVE-CORRESPONDING s_record TO l_total.
MODIFY total FROM l_total.
CHECK f_index GT 0.
MODIFY extract INDEX f_index FROM l_total.
ENDIF.
ENDLOOP.
ENDFORM. " UPDATE_USER_DATE_TIME
Here ZZTABLE is the Z table and ZZ_USER, ZZ_DATE, and ZZ_TIME are the fields that are updated. -
Synonym required to query custom tables from Oracle Apps database
When creating an Answers report that queries from a table owned by a custom schema (not APPS), I cannot query the table and get error. Once I add a Synonym for APPS on this table, then OBIEE works normally.
Since OBIEE is logging in as the APPS user, are Synonyms required for all non-APPS tables/views or is there another feature of the Administrator where it can store the table alias (our typical owner of custom tables is XXFI)?OK, well "compare" can mean one of two things: Compare structure or compare contents. Here is a quick script to compare column structures of two tables on one database:
(select COLUMN_NAME,
DATA_TYPE,
DATA_LENGTH,
DATA_PRECISION,
DATA_SCALE,
NULLABLE
from dba_Tab_columns
where owner=:OWNR1
and table_name = :tablename
minus
select COLUMN_NAME,
DATA_TYPE,
DATA_LENGTH,
DATA_PRECISION,
DATA_SCALE,
NULLABLE
from dba_Tab_columns
where owner=:ownr2
and table_name = :tablename)
union all
(select COLUMN_NAME,
DATA_TYPE,
DATA_LENGTH,
DATA_PRECISION,
DATA_SCALE,
NULLABLE
from dba_Tab_columns
where owner=:ownr2
and table_name = :tablename
minus
select COLUMN_NAME,
DATA_TYPE,
DATA_LENGTH,
DATA_PRECISION,
DATA_SCALE,
NULLABLE
from dba_Tab_columns
where owner=:ownr1
and table_name = :tablename)
If this query returns any rows, then these indicate that there are structural differences between the tables. We do a minus in both directions to ensure that an additional column in either schema will be returned in the query.
If you are going across dblinks to remote tables then you have to amend the "dba_tab_columns" to "sys.dba_tab_columns@yourdblink"
If you also want to compare indexes, triggers, etc then do the same sort of thing for the associated dba_ views for those objects.
And if you want to compare table contents, then often the fastest way is also to check minuses in both directions, if the tables are not too big:
e.g.
(select * from schema1.table@dblink1
minus
select * from schema2.table@dblink2)
union all
(select * from schema2.table@dblink2
minus
select * from schema1.table@dblink1)
local tables, of course, simply omit the "@dblink" issues.
There are tools to help in such things. TOAD, for example, has a pretty good schema comparison tool, and there are plenty of other options out there. But if you need to script this yourself then the logic I've shown is a good starting point.

Copying data for custom includes in FB50
I have added new fields to FB50 by using the screen painter in SAPLFSKB screen 100. I created new fields in CI_COBL called ZZNAME1 and ZZPARVW. These now appear on FB50. The problem is, data that is entered into those fields disappears when trying to save the document in FB50. How can I make that data persist? I believe that I need to copy the data from ZZNAME1 and ZZPARVW into the real fields NAME1 and PARVW, but where would I put the code to copy that data?

Dear Gurus,
What is the source of data for Z custom fields ?
Do we need to create any tables for these fields in the source system ?
Do we call it as enhancement when we add a Z field or populate an existing field (Unused) in the standard data source or user defined (Generic) ?
Can we add Z field to any standard and user defined data sources ?
Points will be taken care.

MohanHi,
What is the source of data for Z custom fields ?
---> Any standard field or Custom field from the source system.
Do we need to create any tables for these fields in the source system ?
---> Not required.
Do we call it as enhancement when we add a Z field or populate an existing field
(Unused) in the standard data source or user defined (Generic) ?
---> Whenever you add a standard SAP field or Z field that is not in the Delivered version of the Datasopurce, then we call it as enhancement.
Can we add Z field to any standard and user defined data sources ?
---> Yes, you can.

Delete all data of a table in Oracle before insert operation in BizTalk.
Hi,
I need to delete all the data of a table from Oracle before insert data into it from BizTalk. I can't create stored procedure on the oracle table or how to create a xml of the delete schema of the oracle table in the BizTalk with filter node has a blank
value because i need to delete all the data of the table so that i will send this xml as delete operation.
Thanks in advance.
Regards,
GyanYou need to create two schemas: One for deleting all rows and one for inserting.
Then combine these Schemas into one and use the "CompositeOperation" SOAP Action Header.
Something like the below (a SQL Example, so the Schemas needs to be replaced by WCF-Oracle syntax)
<Request xmlns="http://CompositeTest.CompositeSchema">
<Delete xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/Sql/2008/05/TableOp/dbo/Employee">
<Rows>
<Employee xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/Sql/2008/05/Types/Tables/dbo">
</Employee>
</Rows>
</Delete>
<Insert xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/Sql/2008/05/TableOp/dbo/Employee">
<Rows>
<Employee xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/Sql/2008/05/Types/Tables/dbo">
<Name>John</Name>
<Designation>Manager</Designation>
<Salary>100000</Salary>
</Employee>
</Rows>
</Insert>
</Request>

Logical database PNP not retrieving data for custom infotypes.
Hi all,
I am using logical database PNP in a program. I have declared infotypes as follows:
INFOTYPES: 0001, 0002, 0041, 9801, 9840.
The problem is that the logical database is retrieving data for the standard infotypes but not for the custom infotypes. Any explanation as to why data for custom infotypes is not being retireved and how this can be solved will be greatly appreciated.

Add Table maintenance program for custom table to an existing func group
Hi Guys,
Can I add Table maintenance program for custom table to an existing function group or I need to create a new
function group for each custom table.
Thanks,
miniYou can add to an existing function group, there's nothing technically to stop you doing this. However, consider that this is creating generated function modules in this function group and you would be wise to avoid using a function group containing manually created modules.
I personally always create a new function group, using the name of the table as the name of the function group.
