SP01 converting smart form reports to .htm, .doc
Hello Gurus,
In SP01 there is a option "Save as local file" to save spool request as file to .html or .trf file. That is not enable for invoice spool request, this report is developed in smart froms by ABAP developers.
How can i save this report/ spool request to .htm, .rtf or spredsheet format.
Thanks and Regards,
Hi Diego237,
If I understand you correctly you have a fillable PDF form that you fill with some report information, then you send that PDF form to customers via email, but you don’t want them to be able to altering it.
You may use Adobe Acrobat to set/change restrictions for your PDF document – to specify what your customers could do with the document. For that just execute the following steps:
1. Open your already filled PDF form document in Acrobat
2. Chose File> Properties, select Security tab in Document Properties dialog.
3. Choose Password Security in Security Method popup menu – it opens “Password Security – Settings” dialog. In Permissions area Select check-box “Restrict editing and printing of the document.
4. In “Printing Allowed” drop down menu specify allowed printing options
5. In “Changes Allowed” drop down menu specify “None” or otherwise whatever you want your customers be able to do with your PDF form.
6. You need to provide password (for you to remember so that only you will be able to change that document again when needed),
7. You need to Save that document for your new restricted permissions to take effect. Then close and reopen the document – and verify permissions in Security tab of the Document Properties dialog. And if that’s what you intended – you could email that PDF document to your customers
Now if you don’t have Adobe Acrobat yet but only free Reader, you would need to download a free trial version of Acrobat XI Pro from here.
And if that solution is working for you, please check out Adobe Acrobat Plus pages:
https://www.stage.acrobat.com/acrobatplus/en/home.html
on how you could upgrade your CreatePDF subscription to Acrobat Plus subscription to allow you full right to download and use Acrobat XI Pro desktop application on your computer further on.

Problem in converting smart form into PDF
HI Experts,
I am using a Function Module CONVERT_OTF for converting smart form into pdf file for send it to with attachment.
But i got a error when i am using that FM.
Runtime Errors CONVT_NO_NUMBER
unable to interpret *292 as a no.
Is that because my file size too large about 13 pages of PDF?
and when i run it for other smart forms which have 2 or 3 pages of PDF, its working perfectly.
can anyone tell what is problem with that FM?
Thanks
ShakunHi,
I had the similar issue and after analysis I have that this is the issue by not passing the IMPORTING parameter of the Function Module "BIN_FILESIZE". Please try to pass some variable to this paramter and then this will be completely rectified.
DATA ; v_filesize TYPE i.
*--Convert OTF data to PDF data
CALL FUNCTION 'CONVERT_OTF'
EXPORTING
format = 'PDF'
max_linewidth = 132
IMPORTING
bin_filesize = v_filesize

lines = it_pdfdata
EXCEPTIONS
err_max_linewidth = 1
err_format = 2
err_conv_not_possible = 3
err_bad_otf = 4

Please verify whether this reolves the problem for you.

Error in calling/converting smart form from ECC to pdf in portal.
Hi,
We have a requirement in our project where we have to show IT form in portal exactly in the way payslip are shown in ESS
Screen, that is in the pdf form in ess portal screen.
For this my HR abap consultant has made one customize smart form which is being called from a RFC FM.
After the FM lf_fm_name gets executed , the OTF data is being captured and then converted in to PDF.
After that the PDF is then converted into XSTRING format which is then supplied to the portal side through export parameter
of the RFC.
Now when we debugged the RFC, the conversion is taking place perfectly fine in to XSTRING.This is wat we assume.
Portal Side: I have used Iframe ui ELEMENT in my webdynpro java and its property source I have binded with a value attribute
of type string and I am executing above customize RFC given to me by my HR abap consultant and after executing that RFC with
userID and payroll year as its import parameter I am taking export parameter of that RFC with name pdf_string of type XSTRING
of that RFC into my webdynpro java value attribute which i binded to source property of Iframe.
Now when we see the output in portal , first of all pdf is not getting generated and its showing the error message:
file does not begin with '%pdf-' and secondly errored Adobe form getting opened outside Iframe window its not coming within
Iframe window like what payslip comes inside Iframe UI element.
I want to know what mistake we are doing in our ABAP coding or portal coding.
Please help.Hi Satyam,
You can use the existing SAP GRT framework for developing the app.
Its easy and provides more features.

smart form to pdf--
All you have to do is call your SF to get OTF and then concert it to PDF. Works like charm:
DATA: p_output_options TYPE ssfcompop,
p_control_parameters TYPE ssfctrlop.
p_control_parameters-no_dialog = 'X'.
p_control_parameters-getotf = 'X'.
CALL FUNCTION v_func_name "call your smartform
EXPORTING
output_options = p_output_options
control_parameters = p_control_parameters
IMPORTING
job_output_info = s_job_output_info.
call function 'CONVERT_OTF_2_PDF'
tables
otf = s_job_output_info-otfdata
lines = t_pdf
and if u need more u can check below links also

Converting smart forms as a pdf in different languages
Hi Experts,
I have been created a smart form and later on i converted it to in pdf also, but how can i convert a smart form output into different languages (English(defualt), German, Italian, French, Spanish,). Can anyone tell me about the idea behind this or a simple demo program???????????
do i need to maintain each text on the smart form into these languages already through SE63 or somewhere any idea that can help me without translating the whole text into those languages, could be able to do pdf conversion.
Thanks and Regards,
ShakunThe OTF data needs to already be in the target language - the conversion process is a process of changing the document format only, not a translation tool.

Dispalying different field at SMART FORM report
hi,
i have created a code for displaying GRTXT i-e(Reason for Movement) in smart from from table T157E.This is the code:
SELECT SINGLE GRTXT FROM T157E
INTO GV_GRTXT
WHERE GRUND eq '1'
or grund eq '2'
or grund eq '3'
AND SPRAS eq 'E'.
where GV_GRTXT is a Global Definations at smart form.when i execute it,it gives me filed in GERMAN even tough i restricted it with SPRAS field and given me wrong REASON FOR MOVEMNT.for example at MIGO application it shows me INCOMPLETE
with GRUND(Reason for Movement) 2 and at my report it shows me Qualität mangelhaft with GRUND(Reason for Movement) 2.
Kindly tell me in the coding what is the mistake which had been made by me.
Thanks.
sappk25hi Suhas Saha,
If i have to display GRUND (1,2,3) in my coding how can i display it because when i use AND conidition in coding it gives null values:
SELECT SINGLE GRTXT FROM T157E
INTO GV_GRTXT
WHERE bwart eq '122'
AND GRUND eq 001
AND GRUND eq 002
AND GRUND eq 003
AND SPRAS eq 'E''.
and if i used OR condition it gives me result in GERMAN i-e:
SELECT SINGLE GRTXT FROM T157E
INTO GV_GRTXT
WHERE bwart eq '122'
AND GRUND eq 001
or GRUND eq 002
or GRUND eq 003
AND SPRAS eq 'E'
and in the last if i used IN condition it gives the result of wrong REASON OF MOVEMENT at smart form which i verify from MIGO.i-e:
SELECT SINGLE GRTXT FROM T157E
INTO GV_GRTXT
WHERE bwart eq '122'
AND GRUND in (001,002,003)
AND SPRAS eq 'E'
Thanks,

How do you convert Smart Forms to Interactive forms
I believe it is possible to convert SAP Smart Forms to Interactive Forms.
Has anyone done this? If so could you tell me the steps?
Thanks
PatrickLet me add that the settings of the wizard that come up are the SAP-recommended ones. They refer to the parts of Smart Forms that migrate relatively easily.
SAP-internal experience over the last 3 years has shown that in most cases Smart Forms are very complex, and that it is therefore easier and less time-consuming to
1. analyze the Smart Form carefully
2. separate each business form into a separate form template
3. re-create the Smart Form in the Interactive Forms solution from scratch.
The hardest thing to overcome within SAP's development community (though very, very important!) was to discard the Smart-Forms- or SAPscript-minded approach to form design/development, and instead accept a new approach.

I have designed and generated a report using crystal as tool,but
i want to convert this report into Microsoft word format(*.doc).
Can anybody please help me in this regard?
Thanks and regards,
Venkatesh.RHi
Simple way is to you use Cristal Reports Designer: you can use CR Report convertion function.
File/Export/Export Report... choose Word Document (rtf) modificable what can be opened with Word and saved how Word Document (.doc).
Other way:
Imports CrystalDecisions.CrystalReports.Engine
Imports CrystalDecisions.Shared
Dim CrxReport As New CrystalDecisions.CrystalReports.Engine.ReportDocument
CrxReport.ExportToDisk(CrystalDecisions.[Shared].ExportFormatType.RichText, _
"c:\open_me_with_word.rtf")

Diff between normal report and Smart forms
Hi Experts,
I am a fresher, i have only a basic knowledge in sap. please help me to improve my knowledge...
I have some doubts???
1) What the difference between normal report(created using SE38 interactive and classic) and smart forms report???
2) whether we will use any even in script and smart form???
Please do the needfull...
thaneshHi
in smartforms and in scripts we write a driver program to execute the smatform /script.
we can write the code in the smartform iteself also.
1. The adaption of forms is supported to a large extent by graphic tools for layout and logic, so that no programming knowledge is necessary (at least 90% of all adjustments). Therefore, power user forms can also make configurations for your business processes with data from an SAP system. Consultants are only required in special cases.
2. Displaying table structures (dynamic framing of texts)
3. Output of background graphics, for form design in particular the use of templates which were scanned.
4. Colored output of texts
5. User-friendly and integrated Form Painter for the graphical design of forms
6. Graphical Table Painter for drawing tables
7. Reusing Font and paragraph formats in forms (Smart Styles)
8. Data interface in XML format (XML for Smart Forms, in short XSF)
9. Form translation is supported by standard translation tools
10. Flexible reuse of text modules
11. HTML output of forms (Basis release 6.10)
12. Interactive Web forms with input fields, pushbuttons, radio buttons, etc -
