SP2013 Is it possible to show/hide columns based on column selections?

I have a lists with a school district selection choice column (refer to as column A). Then I have three other columns with schools based on district. What I would like to do is only show schools in a certain district based on what district
is selected in column A. Can anyone tell me if this is possible and if so, how can i acheive it?

I am attempting to show/hide subforms with a dropdown selection. I've found a lot of information on the subject, and have ended up with this as my script:

You have wrongly referenced the fields in your code.
Copy and paste the below code in the click event of the Submit button. It should work as expected.

How to hide section based on prompt selection

Hi All,
I have a requirement to hide the section based on selection of the prompt . My scenario is like i have 1 dimension table and 10 fact table joined to that dimension table. each fact table is having one code of the dimension table.
I have 10 different reports in 10 fact tables. i have defined a prompt on the dimension table , if i wil select a particular code in the prompt then it will show me that particular fact table report .
For that i have done 10 reports and i am showing in 10 different section . Now i want to hide the section based on selection .
If i can put all report in one section and based on selection i can show the report that will be also ok for me ...

i am able to show the section based on prompt selection . But in my current scenario i have 300 reports based on 300 fact table . If i will put all my report in a dashboard it will fire 300 queries to data base . It will become a performance issue . and one more thing is , does OBIEE support 300 reports in different sections in one page.

We need to show/hide dynamically columns in our Report RDLC form based by the user desire needs.
We need by the predefined checkboxes to set which columns should be seen and which should be hidden.

Depends on what you mean dynamically, you still need to press the view report button.
What you can do is right click on the column you want to be able to hide/display in design mode,
click "Column visibilty", choose "show or hide based on an expression" then in your expression base your true or false on a boolean parameter for each column

Possible to show/hide sections in a table?

Hello all,
First post here. I've only started using LiveCycle Designer a few weeks ago, never knowing that it came with my Acrobat. I've been busy converting forms we use in our business into pdf versions that can be filled, and created some with simple scripting etc. Anyway my most ambitious effort to date is to create a gross payroll calculator in which I would enter the total hours worked for each employee and the gross payroll is calculated. The calculations I have no issue with.
I am using a hidden "config" subform (thanks to kingphysh for your easy and simple example!) to store the employee names and payrates and the department they work in.
My main form, the one on which I am entering total time for each employee, consists of a table with a section for each department. Thus I can put all employees in a department in one section of the table and then easily do subtotals by department etc.

and so on. Each section also has a footer row for subtotals.
This form will be used at various physical locations and not every location will have all departments. Thus I want the table to show only those sections for which the corresponding departments exist based on a selection (checkbox) that is on the hidden config page.
Its not so much the actual scripting thats a problem, but where to put the script. Should I use a Table1 event or the checkbox event? I've tried both but neither works as desired. Or should I use an event for the individual rows in the section itself?
Any pointers and suggestions will be greatly appreciated!

Many thanks for all your help. With the examples you provided, I have been able to almost finish the form and learned a little bit along the way too.
There are a couple of things still vexing me though.
My form's hierarchy is as follows:
page1 (flowed)
     - wrapper (flowed)
          - form1 (positioned) <-- sub-form (form on which data is entered and calculation results are displayed_
               - table1
                    -HEADER
                    -Section1 - bodyrow
                                   - section1 footer
                    -Section2 - bodyrow
                                    - section2 footer
                    -FOOTER
          - config   (positioned) <-- sub-form (normally hidden "config" form which stores employee data - accessed by password
               - table1
The sub-form form1 contains a table with six sections. Each section represents one department and has body rows and a footer row for subtotals.
the number of body rows in each section can vary with the number of employees in the department.
I have two issues remaining with the form and it will be done. Hopefully you will be able to point me in the right direction.
1. Pagination - in the form, I have set page1 to "flowed". wrapper is also flowed. form1 is positioned.
     I would like to be able to set it so that if any section is going to be split, it would go onto the next page.
     The header should be repeated in each page. Each section footer should be with the section, and the Table footer should be on the last page.
2. Column Subtotals
     I have set the form to be as general purpose as possible. Thus it can take time totals in either decimal or HH:MM format. I am having trouble adding columns of time totals in HH:MM format.
For example, given 3 time totals (all are in text fields):

03:24
I would thing the best way to do this is to parse the strings and add the minutes and hrs separately and then depending on the total of the minutes, use the floor and mod functions to get the correct total. I just can't get it to add the columns at all.
This is the code I am using to add the column:

APEX4: Is it possible to show/hide a field on form based on Radio selection

Hi,
On a form, I've a radio group (with two values) and two select list. Based on the selection in radio group, I want to show/hide the select list.
Like, when the user clicks Radio Group Value - RG_A, SL_A has to be visible, and when user clicks Radio Group Value - RG_G, SL_B has to be visible.
Is this possible in APEX 4? How can I do it?

Yes, you can do it using Dynamic Actions.

In Radio Group you will need to identify the button clicked from its ID and / or value. Thats because the Radio Group Item creates as many IDs / Items as there are options P1_ITEM_0, P1_ITEM1_1, etc.

How to show/hide total based on selected column in column selector

Is there a way to show/hide the total based on what column is selected in the column selector? Or alternatively to hide the total based on the column selected? I'm using OBIEE 10g.
Basically, I have a pivot table with a handful of row variables and one measure. Then I allow the user to select the column variable. The default is to have nothing, which I have achieved using the hidden/dummy column trick (Re: How to add new columns by using Multiselect However, if my pivot table is set to have a total, I now get 2 columns that are the same. When the user selects any other choice (e.g. gender), I would want to see Male, Female and the total. Something like this:
Default:
Count
East 10
West 20
Total 30
Gender:
Male Female Total
Count Count Count
East 6 4 10
West 14 6 20
Total 20 10 30
Any thoughts?

Yes, I replaced the code calling the same things in a loop to one loop getting the Table reference once and I build an array of column numbers at the time the report is built so I don't have to get the column number each time....
it is a couple of seconds faster in about a 30 second response time. It will have to do it for now, no more time unless you see something in this new code...

Show / hide field based on text in another field

Hi,
I'm trying to make one of my fields reactive to what is the text generated in another field.
At the moment I have this under calculate using custom javascript:

else this.getField("Code").display = display.hidden;
Whereas Course is the field that is changing and Code is the one that will show/hide based on content of Course.

Hi Everyone,
After doing trials with simple calculations it still wasn't working and so I've figured out what the problem is - the document was being exported but with the data being pre-populated from an SQL database in which during the export it all happens at once, not a chain effect so when the export happens it was filling "Code" before "Course" had any info in it...
The fix was basically having to create a different field in the SQL source itself for an independent field on the pdf form.

Dynamic action - show/hide region based on LOV which returns ID

I have a LOV which is based on below query:

I would like to set up a dynamic action shich will SHOW/HIDE a TEST_REGION based on selected value in item :P200_KOD (LOV). Region should be showed if displayed (KOD) value of selected ID starts with 'V%'
By other words, if below query returns any record, then SHOW, else HIDE:

How to Filter Key Figures in Columns Based on a Selection

I am trying to get my columns to dynamically filter based on some selection and would like to know what is the easiest way to make this happen. My scenario involves displaying 12 months of data for an actual / budget view. So we may need 8 months of actuals and 4 months of plan, 9 months of actuals and 3 months of plan, 10 months of actuals and 2 months of plan, etc. The row is cost element and my columns are restricted key figures. I want the user to be able to easily select an 8/4 look and the dynamically remove the unnecessary columns. Same with a 9/3 or a 10/2. Besides these 12 months of Act / Bud, I have 12 months of plan, 12 months of actuals for other years, so I have lots of key figures. Just doing the basic filter can be too cumbersome.

This is exactly the type of problem that I'm currently trying to figure out. I'm trying to following your solution but I'm not clear on how you actually achieved this in you last note. I want to dynamically select actuals/budget column fields based on what period I enter. I thought about creating 12 separate RKF fields for actuals and 12 separate RKF fields for the budget reforecast and outputting these all and then doing some VBA to hide the fields not required based on which period was selected... how is your variable ZFYAPER7 defined and calculated?

Is it possible to show/hide a layer in all the files in a book?

Hi,
I have 5 catalogs organized in a book, every is at 10 languages, every language is at separate layer. Every book has between 30 and 80 Indesign documents.
I need to edit and print 4 of those languages and switching manually viability of the layers don't look like a good idea to me because of the possible mistake.
Is there a way switching layers/languages to happen in same time?
The names to layers are same in all documents.

I haven't tested it, but it might be possible to ignore or hide the layer(s) in the PDF you distribute or print. Worth a try.

I have this which works for the content part, but sometimes the field is hidden, so the script must not apply.

Thanks for the hints which led me to the right solution. I created a query to check if the trigger for the visibility was there or not, and this works. The script I have used is:

How to show/hide div based on mysql value

I have a dataset that has a column 'locked' that is a boolean that I want to use to remove a button on a form. The idea being that it will be set to 1 after a period of time thus removing the buttun that links to an update form and preventing the data from being changed. Currently, I have the field linked to a check box at the top of the table. How do I use this to hide the button (or any other html element for that matter) when set to 1 and show the element when set to 0? I understand I need to creat a php variable from the mysql boolean and then use a if/else loop to hide/display the html but I don't know how to impliment this? Thanks for any help offered.

Thanks for your help, nearly worked but only returned results where the if statement was met ie where locked =0, so I used an additional statement to display something else when when locked=1
