SPA122 freezes when upgrading to 1.3.1(003) via provisioning

I've started pushing out the v1.3.1(003) upgrade to a few of our deployed devices via the provisioning file, but in a test I did last night, 5 out of the 6 SPA122s that I upgraded froze after applying the update.
The server's access logs look like this:
$ zgrep '71.238.**.***' logs/access20130116.log.gz
71.238.**.*** - - [16/Jan/2013:21:47:29 -0800] "GET /ccef4******* HTTP/1.0" 200 17490 "-" "Cisco/SPA122-1.1.0(011) (CBT1*******)"

71.238.**.*** - - [16/Jan/2013:21:48:35 -0800] "GET /firmware/SPA112_SPA122_1.3.1_003.bin HTTP/1.0" 200 9945472 "-" "Cisco/SPA122-1.1.0(011) (CBT1*******)"

I would have expected the ATA to provision again after upgrading, but it has to be rebooted before it will come back online. It's kind of scary to reboot a device manually after a firmware upgrade without something saying it's okay to do so.
Has anyone else observed this behavior?

Okay, I tried the two-step upgrade process as Patrick's document suggested, but found that the ATA still froze, this time after upgrading from v1.1.0(011) to v1.2.1(004).
I was able to get syslog results this time, and the device seems to be freezing at the postupgrade handling.

You probably need to restore your iPad now using recovery mode. The frozen screen showing only the Apple icon is one of the classic signs that this is in order now. Read this for more.

  • I Mac intel freezes when attempting to dial.

Need to know the cause of i mac crashing or freezing when I try to connect to internet via dial up. Does the same when I go to network preferences and check on settings using the assistant. Computer works fine otherwise. I may be the cause of this problem as I was moving files and folders from my i book via firewire and migration app. This problem came about right after the transfer.

It could be the modem or the transfer of the files.
I suggest you look at other posts in the iMac Networking forum for ideas as I don't know what to suggest. They may be able to tell you which preference file to delete so that you use a new one rather than one that was transferred.
In System Preferences have you made sure in the Network area that the right model of Apple Modem is selected?

When it freezes up like that, have you tried a simple reset of the iPod?  If not, see this article for instructions on how to perform a hard reset.  Doing so will not erase or affect the content stored on the device.

  • Late 2007 MB Freezes when waking from Sleep after Lion Upgrade

I have a Late 2007 MacBook that I recently upgraded from Snow Leopard to Lion.  Since the upgrade, the computer occassionally freezes when waking up from Sleep (putting it to sleep by shutting the screen).  Sometimes, I will see about 1-2 seconds of activity (i.e. AIrPort icon searching for network), but then the screen will turn black and the computer will restart.  Other times, I actually get a kernel panic.
I never had this issue with Snow Leopard, and it seems to happen more often if I try to use the computer (i.e. move the mouse or press a key on the keyboard) immediately after I open the screen and while it's still waking up.  By being patient and giving the computer 5-10 seconds to wake up, it seems to only freeze about 1 out of every 7 times when waking up, but it's stil frustrating to not know whether or not I'm going to lose my work anytime I put the computer to sleep.
From other issues that I've researched, I've disabled Bluetooth completely (which reportedly fixed some similar issues), but I still had periodic freezes even with it disabled.
The only thing I can think of that might be contributing to a weird hardware issue is that the AirPort card died on me a few years ago, and I had to replace it with an AirPort Extreme from a Late 2007 15" MacBook Pro (I'm pretty sure the model of the card I put in is AR5BXB72, although I could open my computer back up to verify if that would be helpful).  Snow Leopard seemed to be perfectly fine with that card, and Lion is ok for the most part (WiFi works perfectly fine), but I'm wondering if I need to update/change any Kexts for that piece of hardware.
Here is one of the kernel panic reports from about 2 weeks ago:

  • I've just upgraded my software to 10.8.5 and have discovered this morning that the autofill feature freezes when I try to use it.

I've just upgraded my software to 10.8.5 and have discovered this morning that the autofill feature freezes when I try to use it. I have worked through all of the suggestions in HELP. The autofill prompt appears when I start to fill in a form but doesn't then provide the option box to select autofill from my contact card, the autofill prompt remains on the screen and can only be cleared by closing Safari and then reopening it. This never happened before and in fact autofill has been working perfectly up until now.

You can create another iCloud account easily enough, but you will only be able to create a new @icloud.com address to go with it, not @me.com - and you can't transfer your @me.com address from the other account.Creating a new account will have no effect on the existing one.
However you don't need to create a new iCloud account to create an additional ermail address. You can add up to three 'email aliases' - these are additional addresses (not accounts) which deliver into the same inbox as the main account. (New aliases can only be @icloud.com ones; @me.com addresses cannot now be created.)
You should be aware before you start that once you've created an alias you cannot turn that address into a full iCloud account, move it to another account, or reactivate it if you delete it.
    More information on aliases here:
    http://help.apple.com/icloud/#mm6b1a490a
While you can delete aliases, you cannot delete the address you created when you opened the account.

  • ITunes 10 freezes when i try to upgrade my iPhone 3Gs to iOS5

    Hello
I've been trying to upgrade my iPhone 3Gs to iOS5 since yesterday but i just can't get it to work.
If i manage to pass the backup step my iTunes freezes when it tries to connect to the server, my cursor turns into the dreaded rainbow wheel and that's it.
What should i do, should i wait or should i try restoring my iPhone and see if it works?
I'm running iTunes 10 on a MacBook (Leopard, updated to ver 10.5.8)
    Anyone can help? Suggestions?
    Thank you (:

ops not while connecting to the server, i meant while tries to extract the software ("iTunes is getting ready to restore the software on this iPhone" or something along those lines)

  • Upgraded to 10.5 on windows 7.  now itunes freezes when trying to download old apps.  any solutions?

10.5 upgrade erased apps & books from ipad.  itunes freezes when trying to download from windows 7 computer.  Any suggestions?

I am using Window Vista 32bit and have the same problem. After trying uninstall, reinstall, ccclean registry, over and over again and still cannot install itune 10.5. And finally concluded that this might be a registry corruption problem. The following steps is what I did to fix the registry isssue and get my itune 10.5 installed.
    - Run Window update - and check the history file, if you see some failures in previous updates, there is something wrong with the registry.
    - un-install all the apple related software (itune, safari, boujour, apple update, etc).
    - For Vista 32bit, go to the following link and run the script to clean up the registry. I am not sure if other WIndow OS will work or not.
    http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-vista/Windows-Update-Error-8000FFFF
    - run the Fix-it script. you have to select the Agressive mode (even thou the pop up window advise not to do this)  in order to clean up the registry. When I try without checking the box, and it did not fix the problem.
    - reboot PC
    - Run window update. It will discover a lot of old updates that need to be installed (I suspect that the fix it script delete a lot of stuff in the registry and removed previous updates). I got 53 updates that need to install.
    - run the update and wait for a longtime (mine took ~2 hours).
    - reboot PC
    - run cccleaner
    - reboot PC
    - install itune 10.5
Now it works. Hopefully other window OS has similar step to fix this. I can only say it works for me using window Vista 32bit. and so far, my PC works correctly.
