Spaces required in an expression for matrix cell

Hi, 
I have Kishore, Srikanth and Hemanth in a matrix cell which are getting displayed. 
I want 5 spaces before only the name of Hemanth and rest should be the same without spaces neither before the name nor after the name. 
all are getting displayed by the expression =Fields!Metric.Value
please help

use an expression for that
=IIF(Fields!Metric.Value = "Hemanth",Spaces(5) + Fields!Metric.Value,Fields!Metric.Value)

    thanks for your answer.
    I think it would cause problems with performance if I do it in that way, because I have to do it for all UDFs from type Price, Sum and Quantity. The reason why I want to remark some cells is, that up to SBO 2007A the UDFs which has a type of price or Sum or Quantity are always shown a 0.00... when you  type in 0. Before in SBO 2004A the field where empty when the value was 0.
    In this case if you have now e.g. 100 positions in a matrix, then and you have in some field only 0.0000 and in some you have 0.0001 or 0.0009 e.g. then you have always to look very carefully. I want to help the user that he can directly see the empty (value=0) field.
    Perhaps somebody has different idea how I could do this? Perhaps its also only a setting ..

    Oracle 10.2.0.3 is NOT supported - uninstall patchset 10.2.0.3 first.

  • The space required for backup suddenly doubled

    I'm running TC to backup my Macbook Pro (400GB in use of 500GB HD) and an external USB Drive (1TB in use of 2TB HD) since march this year.
    The Space required on the TC (3TB) has been roughly 1.6 TB an didn't change much over the months.
    A few days ago, TC reported it has deleted all backups prior to September because of low Space. Free Space on the TC is now only 750GB.
    The Data on the USB Drive has not changed and nothing significantly on the Macbook.
    Any ideas what's going on?

    Alright, so FileVault is not enabled and you see 1 sparsebundle on the Time Capsule's drive. Are you able to open this sparsebundle by doubleclicking?
    If you can, you should either see a "time machine"-drive appear on your Desktop, a "Time Machine"-drive in your Finder underneath "Devices" (or both)
    If you browse around your back-up this way, you should chance upon a list of folders with date-notations. Is there a file called something similar to "inprogress"? If so, this is an incompleted back-up. If Time Machine isn't performing a back-up right there and then, this is a failed back-up attempt. Does this file account for the extra space?
    If the file is small, you can simply trash it without consequence. If it's huge, you'll experience trouble emptying your trash in the future. If so, let us know and we can provide a Terminal-command that can do the job.
    If you can't open the sparsebundle, let is know the error.

  • SSRS Expression for hiding some columns in column group based on parameter

    I have a matrix table with column name WeekName which has the values of W1, W2, W3 and W4 which expands 4 columns when run. I need to hide the columns based on a parameter called WeekPar as follows:
    If WeekPar = 1, hide columns W1,
    If WeekPar = 2, hide columns W1 and W2
    What would be the expression for that?
    I know how to hide individual columns, but not some of the columns in a group. Is this possible?

    After testing the issue in my local environment, we can refer to the steps below to achieve your requirement:
    Right-click the WeekName column to open the Column Visibility property dialog box.
    Using the expression below to control the Column Visibility (supposing the cell which contains WeekName field named WeekName ):

    I have a matrix based report with Fields like Country ,Amount and MonthYear
    So report looks like below the columns get generated dynamically :

    So this works perfectly fine . So next step was to get difference between the months like below :

    Hi Priya,
    According to your description, you want to add a total row at bottom of the matrix. This total row should display the  both sum of amount every month and the sum of the difference between months. Right?
    Since we have tried the custom code in another similar thread you have posted before (Difference
    Between the grouped column) and it works properly. In this scenario, we just need to use the sum function and put it as a variable when calling the custom function in custom code, then we will get the total difference between months. This
    case has been tested in our local environment (In this sample, we used the same sample data as the last thread you posted before).Here are steps and screenshots for your reference:
    1. Add a row out side of group. Put the expressions into corresponding cells.
    2. Save and preview. The result looks like below:

    Yes, my above Switch expressions works in such a way as mentioned your sample screen.
    But only thing is you need to modify the expression as per your requirements.
    For Example:
    Take Month and Year wise Sales amount shown as below:
    The Expression would be like below(Not Tested)

    Fields!Salesamount.Value=200,"Aqua",
    Fields!Salesamount.Value=300,"Blue",

  • Building Expressions with Repeated Cell References

    I have noticed a difficulty with building an expression using the 'Point and Click' method of inserting Cell References in Numbers 09.
    The first time a particular cell is clicked, its reference is inserted properly in the expression at the cursor. If another reference to the same cell is required in that expression, clicking on the cell again does not result in another reference to it at the cursor, instead the cursor jumps to the previous reference to that cell.
    The two options for adding a second or third reference to a particular cell are to type the reference or to keyboard-navigate to the cell with the Option key.
    Am I missing something?

  • Expression for a cumulated key figures

    I would like to make an expression for a cumulated key figure (I set "cumulated" in properties of this KF) in Query Designer 3.5. If I try to make an expression, I'll get an expression for a key figure, and not for a cumulated key figure.
    Any ideas? Should I use query view?

    You may need to think about the Cell Editor concept here.
    In of the report I need to take 12 calmonth2 values in the columns starting from a financial year.Here the financial startd from APRIL.
    For each coolumn I need to show Average of sales value.Here Average means ,under APril month the value is April's sales value only.But for May ,I need to show like : (sales of April+ sales of May)/2.
    Similarly for June: (sales of April+ sales of May+sales of June)/3.
    So on ....
    Here I used the cell editor concept to get the required out put.
    I am take 12 selections in columns for 12 months .
    I have taken Sales value 2 times into Rows and hidden the first KF. But in the cell editor: for second row's second cell I have defined a formula like : (second row's First  cell+ First row's second  cell)/2
    Similarly for second row's thrid cell I have defined a formula like :(second row's First  cell+ First row's second  cell+ First row's third  cell)/3.
    so on..for other cells of Second row.

  • Product Order for Matrix Reports [Certification Question]

    [ My Situation ]
    I'm having difficulty understanding the use of a property: a cell's Product Order property, used in Matrix reports by the main cells. Basically, I can't figure out what it does.
    [ What I Think a Matrix Report Is ]
    I understand the matrix report concept like so:
    A matrix report consists of 3 basic components: A category Row, a category Column, and Cells.
    The Row is the result of a query such as "SELECT DISTINCT dept_no FROM emp".
    The Column is like the Row such as "SELECT DISTINCT gender FROM emp".
    A Cell is a summary that coresponds to the queries that formed the Row and the Column, such as:
    SELECT AVG(salary)
    FROM emp
    GROUP BY dept_no, gender
    HAVING dept_no = 10 AND gender = "Female";
    The example above would produce a report where you could see whether males and females tended to have different salaries for various departments.
    [ I Know How the Data Model Works ]
    I understand the Data Model for a matrix report, where the summary fields go, etc.
    [ What I Think Product Order Does ]
    I don't understand what Product Order does for the Cells of a matrix report. It's a list of combinations of the groups in the matrix group from the Data Model. I think it translates to the order of the columns in a query's ORDER BY clause.
    If I reverse the order in which the groups appear in Product Order, I get different results. If my understanding of a matrix report and the Product Order property is correct, the order shouldn't matter.
    What am I misunderstanding?

    groups are evaluated in the cross product for a summary.
    Product Order also defines the frequency of a summary, formula,
    or placeholder in a cross product group. That is, the summary,
    formula, or placeholder has one value for each combination of
    values of the groups in its Product Order. Product Order is
    used only for columns owned by cross-product groups. Because a
    cross product relates multiple groups, the groups in the cross
    product could be evaluated in any one of many different orders.
    Therefore, when creating a summary for a cross product, you must
    use Product Order to specify for Report Builder which group
    should be evaluated first, which second, and so on. You must
    also use Product Order to specify the frequency of a summary,
    formula, or placeholder within the cross product.
    Values A valid group combination.
    Applies to summary, formula, and placeholder columns
    Required/Optional required, if the column is a summary or
    formula column belonging to a cross product group.

    Hi,
    i am creating a form similar to the purchase order form of B1. As in the PO form of B1, when i do tab on the matrix cell of the item code, i want to load the item-master details. To do this, i need to know which event is fired when i do tab in the matrix cell.
    Does anybody know about the event fired...or anything else regarding the issue...

    Hi Arpit,
    The most efficient way to do this is to bind a Formatted Search to the colum. Not do this capturing events, it's very slow, and a hassle to program.
    1) Create (Tools > Queries >Query manager) a user defined query:
       <i>SELECT ItemName FROM OITM WHERE ItemCode = $[$MyMatrix.MyColumWithItemCode.0]</i>
    2) Save the query
    3) Open your own form, click the columncell where you want to show the ItemName, press ALTSHFTF2
    4) Tick the 3th radio button <i>Search by Saved Query</i>
    5) Double click the input field and select the query saved at step 2
    6) Tick the box auto refresh and select in the drop down box your ItemCode column.
    Now every time the focus is lost from the ItemCode column, the itemname is displayed in the other column. You can also do this for other values, fields etc.
    Those steps I've described can also be done by code. (for a automatic installation or so) See the DI-API help; FormattedSearches and UserQueries objects.
