SparkDataContainer Scroller not scrolling to bottom of container

I am using a scroller component within a custom skin for a SkinnableDataContainer. I am running into an issue in that the thumbbar of the scroller stops at about the 50% point, however this is actually the end of the scrollable area. In actuality, the thumbbar should be at the bottom of the scroll track. Here's the code for the scroller:
<s:SparkSkin xmlns:fx="http://ns.adobe.com/mxml/2009"
xmlns:s="library://ns.adobe.com/flex/spark"
xmlns:mx="library://ns.adobe.com/flex/halo" bottom="150" >

<s:states>
<s:State name="normal" />
<s:State name="disabled" />
</s:states>

<fx:Metadata>
[HostComponent("spark.components.SkinnableDataContainer")]
</fx:Metadata>

<s:Rect left="0" right="0"
bottom="0" top="0"
radiusX="4" radiusY="4" >
<s:fill>
<s:SolidColor id="fillColor" color="0xEFEFEF"/>
</s:fill>
</s:Rect>
<s:Group width="905" height="395" id="mainGroup">
<s:Scroller left="10" right="10" top="4" bottom="10" >
<s:DataGroup id="dataGroup" />
</s:Scroller>
<s:Rect left="0" right="0" top="0" bottom="0">
<s:stroke>
<s:SolidColorStroke weight="1" color="0xD8D8D8"/>
</s:stroke>
</s:Rect>
</s:Group>
</s:SparkSkin>

Can you please post a small sample application that demonstrates this? I was unable to reproduce it using the skin you posted above with this small sample application:
<s:Application xmlns:fx="http://ns.adobe.com/mxml/2009"
xmlns:s="library://ns.adobe.com/flex/spark">
<fx:Script>

import mx.collections.ArrayList;
private function getArray(n:int = 100):ArrayList {
var arr:Array = new Array(n);
for (var i:int = 0; i < n; i++){
arr[i] = i;
return new ArrayList(arr);

</fx:Script>
<s:SkinnableDataContainer itemRenderer="spark.skins.spark.DefaultItemRenderer"
dataProvider="{getArray()}"
skinClass="CustomDataContainerSkin">
<s:layout>
<s:VerticalLayout />
</s:layout>
</s:SkinnableDataContainer>
</s:Application>

• Long Drop Down Menu not scrolling to bottom

Apparently, this is not consistent across all installs. Some people claim it is working fine. However, on this page - http://hillwilliam.com - there is a long drop down menu under Manufacturers. On my MacBook Air, the drop down does not scroll to bottom. Works on iPad. I have turned extensions off, deleted internet plug-ins to no avail. This video shows it working as it should - https://woothemes.viewscreencasts.com/embed/2a5107f6fe20426b86eb6100f1416e9b - why does it not work on my install of the latest and greatest? Need consistency here for all users. TIA

there is a long drop down menu under Manufacturers. On my MacBook Air, the drop down does not scroll to bottom
Same thing happening here on an iMac ...
FYI ... iOS = iPad OS X = OS X. Two different operating systems so you may see an inconsistency in one but not the other for drop down menus.

• Safari not scrolling to bottom of webpage

I have noticed that safari seems to stop allowing scroll down to the bottom of some web pages - no apparent rhyme or reason, but the side scroll bar refuses to let it scroll beyond a certain point - often cutting off pictures and/or text. Has anyone else seen this? and if so, is there a fix?
Thanks

HI and Welcome to Apple Discussions...
From the Safari Menu Bar, click Safari / Empty Cache. When you are done with that...
From the Safari Menu Bar, click Safari / Reset Safari. Select the top 5 buttons and click Reset.
Go here for trouble shooting 3rd party plugins or input managers which might be causing the problem. Safari: Add-ons may cause Safari to unexpectedly quit or have performance issues
Since you are running Snow Leopard, if you are running Safari is opening in 32-bit mode, try 64. Right or control click the Safari icon in the Applications folder, then click: Get Info In the Get Info window click the black disclosure triangle next to General so it faces down. Select 32 bit mode. Also, (in that same window) *make sure Safari is NOT running in Rosetta.*

Web pages now include a small icon or 'favicon' which is visible in the address bar and next to bookmarks. These icons take up disk space and slow Safari down. It is possible to erase the icons from your computer and start fresh. *To delete Safari's icon cache using the Finder, open your user folder, navigate to ~/Library/Safari/ and move this file "webpageIcons.db to the Trash.*
If Safari still crashes, go to the Safari Menu Bar, click Safari/Preferences. Make note of all the preferences under each tab. Quit Safari. Now go to ~/Library/Preferences and move this file com.apple.safari.plist to the Desktop. Relaunch Safari.

• ScrollPane can not scroll to the bottom

Help wanted:
I am using a scrollPane to display difference colored text which I used canvas to paint the text each time new text appended to it.
The problem is the scrollbar can never scoll to the bottom of the ScrollPane's viewport even though I set the scroll position to the bottom of text height.
I used:
Adjustable v = scrollpane.getVAdjustable();
System.out.println("get value:"+ v.getValue() );
The value I got is not the value I set, If I set the scrollpostion y to 300, the value I get will be 285, always, 15 difference(the font I use is 11). the maximum and minimum are always same. So the vertical scrolbar is not scroll all the way to the bottom end, actully a little apart from the bottom end. so the last line of text is not showing.
I tried everything, no use, I can not change ScrollPane....
Any solutions here??? or anyone write their own ScrollPane, I 'd appreciated for anything....
Thanks ahead!

I have the same problem. I'm able to work around it if I select another message and then go back to the one that's not loading properly. So far, it always loads properly the second time. It's frustrating that I have to do that, but it works for me.

• Why does Firefox not scroll the page when selecting & the cursor reaches the bottom of the screen

When selecting text on a screen page, when the cursor reached the bottom edge of the screen Firefox (9.0.1) does not scroll. Other programs (including IE) do so, so it does not appear to be a local computer problem.
I cannot see a setting on the options page that enables/disables this so what is the solution?

Enable the Add-ons bar (Firefox > Options or View > Toolbars; Ctrl+/) or the Find bar (Ctrl+F) to make Firefox scroll the page while selecting text.

• Web page does not fit screen. now have scroll bar at the bottom

2 problems exist and i have tried to find solutions to both with no luck. On Firefox 16.0.2 using XP Pro.
First: Web pages no longer fit screen. Now have scroll bar at the bottom. For some strange reason this just started. I tried the CTRL+ 0 with no luck.
Second: At the same time the above started when i open a program it opens in a reduced screen size and i have increase it to full screen size. This also occurs when i have it reduced 9in the system tray and i bring it back to the desk top.
I have made no changes to firefox these problems just started. A reboot of the computer did not help

Did you check the window settings of the Firefox desktop shortcut to see how Firefox opens?
Did you try to delete the current Firefox desktop shortcut and create a new shortcut?
Use Restore or Maximize in the right-click context menu of the Taskbar icon to set focus to the Firefox application if you do not see the Firefox window.
Open the system menu of that Firefox window via Alt+Space and see if you can move and resize that window (use the keyboard cursor keys).
If that works then first close all other open Firefox windows and then close Firefox via "File > Exit/Quit" to save that setting.

• Ipod not scrolling

I have an iPod 5th-gen video. I have replaced the battery and click wheel on it and everything is working EXCEPT scrolling. I can reset it and everything but I can not scroll. I don't know if I have to 'ground' the wheel's cable better. I know there is glue on the bottom of the second cable so that it sticks to the metal of the case. Please Help. I appreciate it!!!

I've noticed the same thing. My ipod touch skips the scrolling of songs listen between G and N. My theory is that it has to do with the track names. I have songs called "G'd Up" which contains a single quote ('). If the letter are grouped in scroll regions g-n would be a single region that is skipped because of the "unusual" character. It's just a theory.
PS: I just renamed the song from G'd Up to Gd Up and the scrolling went back to normal....Then again, when I renamed it back to confirm the bug, the scrolling was still normal...so...synchronizing might fix it too.

• Has anybody else been seeing (Not Responding) at the top of the screen and having thier browser not respond to wheel scrolling and scrolling with the usual slider at the right part of the screen?

I have noticed my Firefox browser is having way too many incidences where it is "Not Responding". The browser freezes up for a second quite often and the "Not Responding" message will appear at the top of the screen.
The browser will also not scroll with either the scroll bar on the right nor with the mouse wheel. Both used to work in previous versions of Firefox, but it seems to have gotten worse since Firefox 5 0r 6. The same with the "Not Responding". It is happening more with Firefox 7 than in at least the past two versions.
Anybody else having these issues? Seems like they are hand-in-hand. Thanks for any and all help or advice. It's making me pretty angry since I'm online all day for work.
Just an FYI. At the bottom of my troubleshooting copy/paste is a suggestion to update the driver for my graphics. That was a no-go. I tried that.

Thank you for this first reply! I'll have to give this a try later....the main laptop I experience this on crashed not more than an hour after I posted this issue. I'm on a tiny, slow netbook that hasn't had the same problem. Now I'm wondering if I picked up a Trojan on the main laptop and the "Not Responding" message is a side effect of a virus or Trojan.
One of the system .dll files has been corrupted and I'm not being allowed to use recovery discs, previous disc images, or any recovery options. That was an all day sucker yesterday and from what I've read on forums and have researched, it appears I'm going to need to reload the operating system. If it is indeed a Trojan/virus, I'm surprised it made it through my antivirus and firewall. Anything is possible, really.
Thanks again, I'll get back with results once I get the wounded laptop back up and running.

• Window will not scroll down in Design mode in DW CC 2014

On a Wacom Companion running DW 2014.1.1, build 6981 Windows 8.0, opening a page, it will not scroll down in Design unless I click Split, then it will scroll some more and stop. Have to click modes back and forth to get to bottom of the screen. No issue viewing the page in a browser. Have 8 Tabs (pages) open, and other programs. Sys shows CPU/MEM at 38/84. Win 8.1 is installed, just need to reboot to activate upgrade.

• Droid 3 - web pages will not scroll

I've noticed about a week ago that some web pages on the native Droid 3 browser will not scroll by touching the screen and moving your finger.. It may be related to only those pages that are not built for mobile devices. Example: www.nickslighthouse.com.

While this may not apply to all browser issues, most of the time the issue can be fixed by following a few simple steps. The first thing I always recommend is clearing the cookies and cache from the browser. Browser> Menu Key> More> Settings> Clear Cache> Clear all cookie data. The web page errors generally occur when the content on the site has been changed, but your device is trying to load saved cookie data from the previous times that it was accessed. Give that a shot and let us know the results.
You can also try this on multiple devices. Some sites contain content that simply isn't compatible with mobile devices. This can sometimes be bypassed by manually keying in the mobile version of the web page if not automatically redirected there. For example, when you navigate to www.websitename.com the mobile version of it will be m.websitename.com (generally).
Let us know if you have any other questions or have any breaking news on your issue.

• Scroll bar does not scroll far enough to view last page in thumbnail images

When using Adobe Acrobat, and have the thumbnails/pages panel open on the left side, the scroll bar will not scroll far enough down to show the last row of thumbnails. For example, have a 40-page document open with the Pages Panel open showing page thumbnails in rows of 3. When the scroll bar reaches the bottom, the last row shows pages 37, 38, and 39. Where is page 40? If you look closely, you can see a sliver of the top of the thumbnail below page 37. There is no way to view the thumbnail because it is at the bottom of the list, and your scroll bar has reached its end.
Is it confirmed that this is a bug in Adobe? If yes, is there any hotfix available for it?
Your help will be greatful.
Thanks

How can I report this bug to Adobe? Is there any link where I can post this bug to Adobe or email or contact details?
Thanks

• Yahoo Mail scrolls down to the bottom of the page every time I am in my inbox

For the last couple of months, every time I use my Yahoo Mail account, the page automatically scrolls down to the bottom, forcing me to scroll back to the top to see my e-mail. It sounds very minor, but over time, it has become extremely irritating. I know this is a Firefox issue, because I do not experience this problem when checking my Yahoo Mail using IE or Chrome. Please let me know the fix ASAP so I don't lose my sanity.

Open Image Capture. In the bottom left corner you will see a triangle symbol as shown below. Press this to see the view shown and here you will see the drop menu that determines what happens when you connect your iPad. In the image shown, I have set no application to open when this iPad is connected.

• 9810 trackpad will not scroll

In the past 3 months I have been having trackpad issues. I can select, but will not scroll. In options, it actually says trackBALL instead of trackPAD. I saw a post somewhere on the internet of how change it back to trackPAD and it worked for a few weeks and then all of a sudden it switched back to trackBALL, I can't find that post anywhere and I forgot what actions I took.
I have done many many battery pulls, I wiped all my installed applications. I am contemplating doing a reset to factory settings, but I am afraid of what headaches will pursue so I thought I would ask if anyone has a solution.
My OS is 7.1.0.694

I would then suggest to either try updating your OS or even downgrade it if necessary.
We'll tackle this as a software issue and not a hardware issue as long as you're getting some kind of action from the trackpad. If at anytime if stops responding entirely, we'll know it's related to hardware.
Keep us posted.
- If my response has helped you, please click "Options" beside my post and mark it as solved. Clicking the "thumbs up" icon near the bottom of my response would also be appreciated.

• Umwanted horizontal scroll bar at the bottom of the screen

Hello,
Our application is a plug in to the Solution Manager Workcenter. The initial screen of the application
contains two tables, one below the other.
The ROOTUIELEMENTCONTAINER has a matrix layout, and both the tables' layout has been set to MatrixHeadData. Width of all has been set to 100%, and the 'stretchedHorizontally' property has been enabled.
However, I am getting a scroll bar at the bottom of the screen which is unwanted. Please suggest a way in which I can get rid of this annoying scrollbar, so that the tables are contained within the screen.
Thanks!
Shalini.

scrollbars at the bottom of the screen only appear if the contents of the screen pass the right border.
the 100% width isn't going to change this. It only defines that the table must take at least 100% of the screen, but if it needs more, it will take more.
In other words:
remove unnecessary columns to be able to keep your contents inside the screen.
btw:
if someone else works with a smaller resolution, he will have the scrollbar anyway.
