Spatial in Oracle 11G

After installing Oracle11g, I tried to create RDF models in it, but failed in :EXECUTE SDO_RDF.CREATE_RDF_NETWORK('rdf_tblspace'); i only found similar package : SDO_RDF_IMG, anyone know that problem?

I have a similar problem. After installing Oracle 11g I am unable to create the rdf network.
SQL> EXECUTE SDO_RDF.CREATE_RDF_NETWORK('rdf_tblspace11');
BEGIN SDO_RDF.CREATE_RDF_NETWORK('rdf_tblspace11'); END;
Error on line 1:
ORA-06550: line 1, column 7:
PLS-00201: Identifier SDO_RDF.CREATE_RDF_NETWORK must be declared
ORA-06550: line 1, column 7:

Anyone have a solution?

  • Oracle 11g spatial query

    An Oracle 11g spatial database with 5 features in it. A doughnut, triangle, line, trapezium, pentagon.
    I want to query what coordinates of features exist in a rectange box including the last point that intersects the rectangle box.
    It really difficult to explain without pictures. Please look at this page.
    http://www.h2ss.co.uk/q/question.jsp
    Thanks, I appreciate it.

    Thanks for the replies.
    I acknowledge that what bkzar and jsharma say will work. But in real terms it is impractical for me to create a new table with the SDO_GEOMETRY's. I have over a thousand polygons, each with over 5000 points in my spatial table.
    Let me give you a background to what I am trying to achieve.
    I am trying to extract features from 11g and render them on Google Maps. However some of my polygons are huge and have over 5000 points, Google cannot render them effectively, however Google does give me the coordinates of the visible view, i.e the current rectangle view.
    My idea was that if you are zoomed right into Google Map and a particular feature intersects the rectangle view than I can query for a portion of the feature, including the first and last points that fall outside of the rectangle box.
    I need to be able to somehow filter the SDO_GEOMETRY that don't exist in the rectangle box.
    Thanks

  • Oracle 11g R2, Problem Loading Spatial Data

    We have a geodatabase which has been implemented by oracle spatial. it has been working quite fine since 2 years ago. Recently the data center serving our geodatabase has been upgraded on both software and hardware specifications. The handler application now has difficulty retrieving spatial data. The problem is somehow strange; only some spatial objects are loaded and then application encounters exceptions.
    Previous working database engine was an Oracle 11g R1 and the new one is Oracle 11g R2. The application is a java application mostly written by swing. Here is the stack trace:

    I read in some forums that the problem could be caused by jdbc version incompatibility, so I just copied jdbc archives from the installed oracle 11g R2 jdbc folder but the problem persists. Last thing I should mention is that only spatial data is problemistic and non-spatial data is easily loaded.
    Please Help, Thanks.

    Hi storm,
    During the installation of oracle as you said if you have given the global password, basically this specific password will reflect to users such as
    -sys
    -system
    -dbsnmp
    -sysman
    As you are new to oracle the basics that you should know is that "SYS" user is the highly privileged user in Oracle and should be logged in as "sys as sysdba" with his respective password (i.e. the global password that you have entered during database installation) to obtain his privilege. Remember to manipulate your database with caution when you are logged in as the sys user. You can log into the database using the sys user in the following way:
    c\> sqlplus sys as sysdba
    password: ****** --It will ask you for the password and you will have to give the global password that was given during installation
    Hope this helps!!!

    Pro Oracle Spatial for Oracle Database 11g
    Pro Oracle Spatial for Oracle Database 11g shows how to take advantage of Oracle Databases built-in feature set for working with location-based data. A great deal of the information used in business today is associated with location in some way, and analysis of that data is becoming ever more important in todays mobile and highly connected world. In Pro Oracle Spatial for Oracle Database 11g, authors Ravi Kothuri and Albert Godfrind address
    * The special nature of spatial data and its role in professional and consumer applications
    * Issues in spatial data management such as modeling, storing, accessing, and analyzing spatial data
    * The Oracle Spatial solution and the integration of spatial data into enterprise databases
    * How spatial information is used to understand business and support decisions, to manage customer relations, and to better serve private and corporate users
    When you read Pro Oracle Spatial for Oracle Database 11g, you’re learning from the very best. Ravi Kothuri is a key member of Oracle’s Spatial development team. Albert Godfrind consults widely with Oracle clients on the implementation of Oracle Spatial, develops training courses, and presents frequently at conferences. Together they have crafted a technically sound and authoritative fountain of information on working with Spatial data in Oracle...

  • Oracle 11g  Quartz Scheduler 1.8.5 running under JBOSS 5.1

    Basically I'm getting this error when running Quartz configured for the jobStore
    org.quartz.jobStore.class = org.quartz.impl.jdbcjobstore.JobStoreCMT
    I've got two data sources setup.

  • Oracle Spatial and Oracle Forms

    Hi,
    Does anyone have experience with Oracle Spatial and Oracle Forms?
    I have generated a form, which is based on a view. The view uses the mdsys.sdo_relate operator. Somehow I am unable to get the form to perform (to get one record it takes over 20 minutes). While useing sql-navigator to process the same statement it seems no problem. The query that also uses the view, is then processed in 10 seconds.
    I also noticed that when text-functions like ' lower' of ' upper' are used to query the view, the query is processed within 15 seconds. If I don't use ' lower' or ' upper' it takes a long time (> 20 minutes) to process the query. Is it possible that this causes the bad performance of the form?
    On metalink I have found that forms and spatial do not cooperate because of the pl/sql version that
    forms6 uses. There is no solution presented, does anyone know of a work around?
    My configuration is:
    Oracle 8.1.7 on WIN2K @ PIII-800Mhz 256 Mb memory.
    Formsbuilder 6
    If requested I can post the queries that I have made.
    With regards,

  • Very slow simple spatial query on 11g

    I've created two spatial tables as following:
    CREATE TABLE usregions
    region_code NUMBER(1,0) NOT NULL,
    shape ST_GEOMETRY,
    CONSTRAINT usregions_pk PRIMARY KEY usregions(region_code)
    INSERT INTO MDSYS.user_sdo_geom_metadata
    (table_name, column_name, diminfo, srid)
    VALUES ('USREGIONS', 'SHAPE',
    sdo_dim_array (sdo_dim_element ('X', -180, 180, 0.5),
    sdo_dim_element ('Y', -90, 90, 0.5)),
    4269);
    CREATE INDEX usregions_dx ON usregions (shape)
    INDEXTYPE IS MDSYS.spatial_index;
    CREATE TABLE usstates
    state_code NUMBER(1,0) NOT NULL,
    state_name VARCHAR2(30),
    shape ST_GEOMETRY,
    CONSTRAINT usstates_pk PRIMARY KEY usstates(state_code)
    INSERT INTO MDSYS.user_sdo_geom_metadata
    (table_name, column_name, diminfo, srid)
    VALUES ('USSTATES', 'SHAPE',
    sdo_dim_array (sdo_dim_element ('X', -180, 180, 0.5),
    sdo_dim_element ('Y', -90, 90, 0.5)),
    4269);
    CREATE INDEX usstates_dx ON usstates (shape)
    INDEXTYPE IS MDSYS.spatial_index;
    I then loaded both tables with data from a shapefile.
    The state shapefile is just the US map with all the states.
    The region shapefile is the same US map with only 5 regions (Northeast, mid atlantic, mid west, south, and west).
    I created the region shapefile from the state shapefile using ESRI ArcMap to dissolve the States border. So Pennsylvania, Virginia, Maryland, and DC is one polygon; New York and up is another polygon, etc.
    I also created the same two tables, with the same data in SQL Server 2008 (KatMai), as well as in PostGRE 8.3.
    Then I ran the following query:
    SELECT s.state_name
    FROM usstates s
    WHERE s.shape.ST_Within((SELECT shape
    FROM usregions
    WHERE region_code=2))=1;
    Region 2 is Mid Atlantic and I was expecting to see:
    STATE_NAME
    District of Columbia

    Instead, Oracle 11g only returned "District of Columbia"
    The query took 6.4 seconds to run.
    On SQL Server 2008, I got the expected result and it took 0.4 seconds to execute.
    On PostGRE 8.3, I also got the expected result and it took 0.5 seconds to execute.
    Why is Oracle not returning all the States? Is this a bug?
    Am I doing something wrong???
    Thanks.

    save data into internal backup format ???backup format doesn't matter, program is just reading rows from backup file and inserting them into database - so is generating SQL insert commands
    >
    and then it will restore it back to database. It isdone by inserts, each 500 row commit
    I can't follow your post, but...yuck.program is just inserting records into T2 table, but on T2 table is trigger and inside trigger is SQL command "UPDATE TABLE T3 ..... where ......". In this time is T3 already filled with 60569 records.
    And inserting going slower and slower. Without trigger is speed ok. But on oracle 10g speed is ok with this trigger. So I am concern about what could changed in oracle 11g and cause such behavior.
    I will try produce some simple test example

  • Oracle 11g Standard Edition + Locator Java API

    We have Oracle 11g Standard which includes the Oracle Locator package, but not the Oracle Spatial.
    I would like to use the Oracle® Spatial Java API in my java code, but am unsure of the licensing implications of this.
    I require some form of java api in order to access the geomettry objects stored in the database. Oracle do not allow the download of the java files seperately. I was unable to find any reference to a 'Oracle Locator Java API'
    Could someone let me know what exists in terms of Java API's, what i am entitled to use under the current licensing rules, and where I can download the necessary source/jar files?

    Thanks for letting me know the location of the jar files, that will at least help me get things going.
    I am still concerned about licensing issues, as your reply appears to contradict itself:
    "There is no licensing issues if you just want to use Oracle Spatial Java API(sdoapi.jar) with your spatial data in the Oracle 11g Standard DB."
    and
    "You cannot use some oracle spatial features (PL/SQL packages and their java APIs) in the standard edition."
    I could use some clarification on this. I'm currently assuming that you mean I can legitimately use the spatial java API with any features I have available within the 11g Standard DB (i.e Oracle Locator subset of the Oracle Spatial package), but that I can't take that for granted, especially considering how militant Oracle are being over licensing and patents these days.

  • Errors while attempting to install Spatial to Oracle Enterprise 11.2.0.3.0 - 64bit

    I am attempting to manually install Oracle Spatial with Oracle Database 11g Enterprise Edition Release 11.2.0.3.0 - 64 bit.  It is my understanding that in order to install Oracle Spatial, that the following components are required:
    1) Java
    2) XML database
    3) Oracle Multimedia (In Pre-11g versions, its called interMedia)
    I was able to successful install the Java component running the following scripts when connected as sysdba:
    alter system set "_system_trig_enabled" = false scope=memory;
    >@C:\oracle\ora11\javavm\install\initjvm.sql
    >@C:\oracle\ora11\xdk\admin\initxml.sql
    >@C:\oracle\ora11\xdk\admin\xmlja.sql
    >@C:\oracle\ora11\RDBMS\ADMIN\catjava.sql
    >@C:\oracle\ora11\RDBMS\ADMIN\catexf.sql
    After running all of these scripts, I run the following query:
    select count(*), object_type from all_objects
    where object_type like '%JAVA%' group by object_type;
    I get the following results:
      COUNT(*) OBJECT_TYPE
           332 JAVA DATA
           837 JAVA RESOURCE
         22958 JAVA CLASS
             2 JAVA SOURCE
    I then run the following query:
    select comp_id,version,status from dba_registry
         where comp_id in ('JAVAVM');
    I get the following results which appears that Java component is now correctly installed:
    COMP_ID
    VERSION
    STATUS
    JAVAVM
    11.2.0.3.0
    VALID
    After successful installing the Java component, I next attempt to install the XML component.  I do this running the following scripts:
    create tablespace XDB
    datafile 'C:\ORACLE\ORADATA\ORA11\XDB1.DBF' size 50m autoextend on next 1m maxsize 4096m
    extent management local
    uniform size 1m
    segment space management auto;
    > @C:\oracle\ora11\RDBMS\ADMIN\catqm.sql XDB XDB TEMP
    I get the following errors when running this script:

    Does anyone have any idea on what might be causing these errors to occur?  After the script finishes, it appears that the XML component is installed correctly.  I ran the following query to check:
    select comp_id,version,status from dba_registry
         where comp_id in ('XML');
    COMP_ID
    VERSION
    STATUS
    XML
    11.2.0.3.0
    VALID
    Should I be concerned about any of these errors?
    Cheers,
    Jeremy

    I think those errors are ok as they are really warnings about stuff that does not exist. As long as the status is VALID in the end, the component
    should be valid.

  • How to uninstall Oracle 11g Database Options?

    I've come across a problem. A company that developed an application, installed Oracle 11g EE.
    I guess they would use all default options. Some of them are licensed separately, and are not used. So I need to uninstall them.
    For example, I see that it is installed "Advanced Compression". I tried to uninstall it from the Universal Installer, but there isn't an option.

    Good news for my company.
    There has never been used "Advanced Compression" and for everything else we are licensed.

  • Cannot find OracleInProcServer.dll in the 64 bit Oracle 11g r2

    We have been using OracleInProcServer.dll in our applications to access oracle spatial features. However, with the new 64 bit oracle 11g r2, I cannot find the OracleInProcServer.dll file.
    I have tried to use the old OracleInProcServer.dll (32 bit from oracle 11g r1 32 bit), it got the message: "The 'MSDAORA' provider is not registered on the local machine"
    Any help on this is greatly appreciated.

    Hi,
    MSDAORA is Microsoft's OLEDB Provider for Oracle, not OracleInProcServer (which is Oracle Objects for OLE - OO4O).
    In either case though, the answer is the same for both products (which are unrelated btw). Both Microsoft's OLEDB provider, and Oracle Objects for OLE, are not available as 64 bit. If you need to use them on a 64 bit OS, you'll need to run the process as 32 bit and install 32 bit Oracle client software.
    You may want to consider eventually porting the app over to ODP.NET, which can take advantage of Spatial via the UDT support.
    Hope it helps,
    Greg

  • Oracle 11g installation on Linux Enterprise 5 remains hanging at 43%!

    Hi all,
    as per Subject, I have installed a Linux Enterprise 5 OS downloaded by Oracle Download Center and it is now installed following the nice Guide here.
    I have added the missing Linux packages and set up the kernel parameters as per Guide quoted above.
    If I launch the Oracle installation, it completes the packages and parameters check fine, install goes fine until 43% and then hangs.
    It's not freezing as the Installation window shows ongoing animations, if I try to stop installation it responds immediately asking for confirmation.
    It just hangs up!
    The Linux machine is actually on a VMWare image on a MacOS Leopard host.
    I have tried it on my laptop and desktop as well, but the hang point keeps being the same.
    Any idea?
    Thanks in advance.

    I will copy more that last 10 lines as last 10 lines do not look too descriptive to me.

  • Oracle 11g Enterprise vs Satandard Edition

    Dear All,
    I would be most grateful if you please tell me what are the benefits of Oracle 11g Database Enterprise Edition over Oracle 11g Database Satandard Edition. Don't consider license money. If you would please provide me detailed comparision of these both plus send me link on that I will be thanks ful.
    Kind regards.
    GM

    Oracle Enterprise Edition:
    Enterprise Edition is the full (top of the range) version or the Oracle Database Server. Options like RAC, Partitioning, Spatial, etc. can be purchased separately to enhance the functionality of the database.
    Oracle Standard Edition:
    Standard Edition is designed for smaller businesses and enterprises. It offers a subset of the features/ functionality implemented in Enterprise Edition. Database options like Data Guard, Partitioning, Spatial, etc. is not available with Standard Edition (from 10g one can use RAC with Standard Edition). Standard Edition can only be licensed on servers with a maximum capacity of four processors.

  • Oracle 11g, SRID & 3D-geometry

    Hi
    I migrated a spatial table from an Oracle 10 to an Oracle 11 database
    The table contains Multilines with M-values.
    I validate the Geometries with "SDO_GEOM.VALIDATE_GEOMETRY_WITH_CONTEXT"
    In Oracle 10: No Errors.
    In Oracle 11g:  ORA-54668:  2D SRID cannot be used with a 3D geometry
        Cause: A 2D SRID was used with a 3D geometry.
        Action: Replace the 2D SRID with an appropriate 3D SRID
    SRID is 82027 (In the spatial-Metadata-Table and in each SDO-Geometry-Object)
    82027 means "GK Zone 3 (DHDN)". It is an projected cartesian system.
    What to do?
    -> I dont't find any appropriate 3D-System
    -> I don't want Oracle to use the M-values for any puproses at all.
        To me it would be fine, if oracle-saptial ignores the M-Value for it's internal calculations (index, length,...)
        M-Values are only interpreted by the appliaction.
    Any advise?
    Bye, Benedikt

    Hi Benedikt,
    What is the SDO_GTYPE on your geometries? I am betting that perhaps the second byte on the GTYPE is zero (e.g. 3006) rather than the proper 3 (3306)? I am thinking also that this data may have originated from ArcSDE? ArcSDE has an ancient bug that loads all LRS data with just the zero rather than specifying which dimension has the LRS value. So Oracle Spatial sees 3006 and thinks you have X,Y and Z rather than X,Y and M and thus 11g polices things more thoroughly to make sure your SRID supports 3D actions.
    Note that ArcSDE is due to fix this bug (NIM045781) - hmm. Wait a second I THOUGHT they were due to fix this bug in 9.3.1 SP2 but now I see no mention of it! :_|
    http://downloads2.esri.com/support/documentation/ao_/9.3.1_SP2_Announcement.pdf
    Oh well. So you need to update your SDO_GTYPE by hand using something like:
    (table is foo and geometry column is shape)
    UPDATE foo a
    set a.shape.SDO_GTYPE = TO_NUMBER('33' || SUBSTR(a.shape.SDO_GTYPE,3,2));Hope that helps.
    Hope that's the issue.
    Cheers,
    Paul
