Speakers Issue with Xperia M4 Aqua Dual

I wish to complain about my handset SONY XPERIA M 4 aqua which was purchased on 18th June 2015 from Ambe Electronics, Sector 18, Noida. Within two weeks its speakers stopped working. I took it to Ambe Electronics but without any positive response, they took the handset from me saying that they will send the handset for repairs to the service station on 14th July 2015. A SMS was received from the service center regarding my service ID 15071401386 and my complaint number which is W 115071401386. But till now I haven’t received my handset. I am suffering the agony for having purchased SONY XPERIA. Will the company take a call and give a new handset as I am psychologically and mentally not happy to have the repaired set back. Encryption issue with Xperia Z2 - hangs intermittently - anyone come across this?

I'm on my second Z2, having returned my first for what I thought at the time may have been a hardware issue.
Basically the device intermittenlyhangs and the screen cannot be switched on with the power button on the side. It needs a reboot via the Power and Volume up buttons. I can reliably reproduce the hang by downloading one of the 6 free movies to my SD card, but it also happens intermittetly when I'm not using the phone. If it hangs during download, the charge rapidly drops (eg from 100% to 69% within 30 minutes) and the unit gets very hot.
I bellieve I've isolated this issue to enabling encryption for the device and SD card. Without these options enablied the device is rock solid. I have reproduced the issue on my replacement. phone. No apps other than those supplied out the box were installed at the time. Having subsequently removed encryption - a huge pain as it meant a factory reset , reformat of my SD card and re-download of the movies due to the DRM - the phone is rock solid once again.
Encryption is a standard feature of Android, which I've been using on my previous Samsung Galaxy S3 and S4 with no problems whatsoever, so this is quite worrying if it is a bug. On a non related note - I disovered also that the backup application does not work if encryption is enabled.
Just wondering whether any other Z2 users on the forum have come across this issue so far?

Just posting a follow up.
I've done some testing and I seem to have narrowed the problem down to the use of the Sony Movies application with encryption enabled on the Z2.
If I launch the Movies application and start a download of one of the 6 free movies, and leave the phone alone, then it eventually hangs as I've described in my OP. If I press the Power button shortly after the hang happens the screen does not switch. If I hold the power button down the Z2 spontaneously reboots If however the phone has been in the hang state for a while then it can only be recovered by using the Power and Volume+ buttons.
The hang also occurs if I launch the Movies application and leave it running in the background. The phone eventually goes into the hang state. The battery charge rapidly drains down during the time the phone is in the hang state, losing 30% or more charge in a short time.
If I do not launch the Movies application then the phone appears stable with encryption enabled. If I do not enable encryption then the phone is rock solid. This behaviour has occured on my original Z2 and on the replacemement that my mobile operator sent me, as I orginally thought my first unit had a hardware problem.
I've sent a description of the issue to Sony via the "Contact us" link on Xperia Care Support. Hopefully this will be addressed.

Audio and speakers issues with the new iTunes 7

I also have an audio problem after installing the new iTunes 7. It seems after iTunes have finished "determining the gapback playback information", all audio from iTunes and Quicktime only comes through my two front speakers. I have a 5.1 setup for my computer and it seems is only a iTunes and Quicktime issue since Windows media plays the audio just fine. Anybody know what the issue could be? I'm on Windows XP by the way.
I have checked my speaker setup and sound card and this problem does not occur in Windows media or any other media software. It seems that it only occurs with iTunes and Quicktime.

Yet another person with the exact same problem, with the same sound card. Everything is up-to-date. I've tried all of the other "fixes" but its either done nothing, or given me use of my rear speakers but added an awful awful ear shattering static. I've tried everything. I even stood on one foot.
Furthermore, my EAX options do not work with iTunes 7 either, though they work with the older versions. I can't even adjust the speaker balance (front to rear, right to left). This is an isolated problem, only with the new iTunes and QuickTime. Everything else on my computer works just dandy, and cooperates with my speakers (5.1 surround) and my EAX settings.
Edited because I said video card, not sound card.. I'm tired, been trying to fix this for an hour.

Query Issue with select level from dual

Hi,
I have a question regarding this query. The problem seems that when selecting level from dual while including another table the rows returned seem to increase exponentially.
I can add distinct and get the correct number of rows but am worried that this will cause a possible performance issue. Am I using the level option wrong?
I have included details below.
There are 4 rows in tbl_incidents
When I run the following queries I get rows returned based on the total number of rows

I installed an ati 5870 and fcp 7 wont run, it says no vram. so I reinstalled the NVIDIA GeForce 7300 GT. This card however doesnt support my 46" sony bravia client monitor via vdi to hdmi (with adapter) is there anyway to make it do that (patch, driver, tweek to card)? also what other card should I get that will support the 30" apple display and the sony. I have another system luckily thats newer that I work on with clients, but I dont want to foresake the other mac pro yet. is the 5770 going to work? Okay. I got it working again by setting it up as a new phone instead of just syncing. Then I backed up. All is good today.

Strange issue with external monitor, only working when external speakers plugged in (using Thunderbolt to VGA adaptor)

Hey – I am having a very strange issue with my external monitor; where it only works if my external speakers are plugged in and connected.
I am using a late 2011 Macbook pro, running Mavericks 10.9.4, along with an MBox 2 (USB Audio Interface), and two powered speakers (KRK Rokit 5). This setup has had no issues. I have just acquired an external monitor (Benq T2200HD), which I am using with a thunderbolt to VGA adaptor (a cheap Chinese knockoff adaptor).
To start - I plugged the monitor in with the thunderbolt adaptor, and it powers up and works fine. However, there is a nasty buzz coming from the speakers. I did some research and it looks like a simple ground loop issue. I did a bit of troubleshooting, and this is where things get weird.
What I found is - If I unplug the MBox, the monitor loses signal from the computer (displaying ‘No Signal Detected!’). Further, if I keep the MBox plugged in, however unplug both the cables from the MBox to the speakers, the monitor loses signal. It doesn’t matter if the speakers are turned off, however they need to be plugged in (or the monitor loses signal). Weirder still, I can unplug the MBox, however the monitor will work if I plug in the speakers through my macs headphone jack.
Simply put, the monitor only works if there is a direct connection between the computer, the speakers, and the power source. What is going on here? Is the monitor grounding through the computer port, to the speakers (I don’t know how this works, is this possible?). Could it somehow be the cheap VGA adaptor I am using?
Some other information:
- Everything is plugged into the same multi-box for power. I have tried plugging things into separate sources, and the result is the same.
- If I unplug the thunderbolt adaptor, then the speaker noise disappears straight away.
- The ground noise doesn’t appear in my headphones, which are plugged into the MBox.
Any information would be great – am I missing something here, or is this genuinely weird?

Well, I went back into Best Buy to test on 3 other laptops (2 Asus, and their floor model for this Sony). It seems to be doing the same problem so at least I was able to rule out broken hardware issue on my particular laptop.
Here's what I did to test:
Since I couldn't really install Adobe Premiere on their machines, I used the DVIO software (http://www.carr-engineering.com/dvio.htm) and a 5 min clip I captured. I transferred onto their machines, hooked up my Sony D8, and attempted to play the video. It would play for 15 seconds and then stop and jitter with a loud noise (like it does on my laptop). I even tried changing each machine's firewire driver to the legacy one and same results. I pulled a brand new 4 pin to 4 pin firewire cable off their shelf and still the same problem.
I think I've nailed it down to Win7x64 bit Home Edition not playing nice with Firewire driver. Very annoying. I can't find any concrete evidence of this from other users on any of the forums that have my particular problem, but from my own testing, it's all I can conclude.
I have 2 other things I can try:
1. Opening the laptop and looking at the firewire to maybe find appropriate driver (ugh, I don't want to have to open this thing up).
2. Upgrading to Win7x64bit Pro and possibly testing with XP on the new MS Virtual PC (http://www.microsoft.com/windows/virtual-pc/). I can't do it with my Home edition apparantly.
Who needs to view video on an external TV anyways....sheeesh...(scarcasm).

A number of issues with my Xperia Z1

I have had my Xperia Z1 since around November 2013.
I have been having a few issues with it. After calling my service provider they suggested I do a factory reset.
That's where my first problem comes in. I have tried a number of times to back up my phone onto my computer using Sony Companion. It runs smoothly for about 90% of the process and then at the last stretch it will go from
'30 minutes remianing' to '8 hours remaining' and the more time passes, the longer the back up says it will take.
With that being said, I haven't been able to successfully back up my phone so I can reset it.
Issue #2: My phone will sometimes just say it has no service. It bounces from having 5 full bars to zero, and then drops my calls. I called my service provider, they said it's a problem with the phone.
Issue #3: When using the stock SMS app, all my texts (no matter what device I send to) my texts are sent doubled or tripled. On my actual screen is doesn't appear this way, but people complain all my texts are doubled.
So I started using Google Hangouts, and that isn't working well either. All the texts are out of line. I'll get texts from over a month ago pop up in my notification and it disappears. Sender/receiever texts don't align and it gets confusing when my messages are delayed, even though it says it's been sent/receieved on time.
Issue #4: The only way to correct my SMS issues is by restarting my phone. Which I sadly do about 10 times daily.
When using the stock SMS app, it often crashed (it is now disabled). Same thing now with Hangouts. It will crash and not let me re open unless I power off/on.
I am not sure if this is where I should be posting about the number of issues I am having.
Will my backup actually take 8+ hours (and to clarify, I disable backing up pictures/videos/music to save space).
I put my phone in Airplane mode and leave it idle and it still says it will take all day to back up.
Any help or suggestions is greatly appreciated.

Have you tried starting the phone in safe mode,see if there is any app acting up messing around with your phone?A backup should not take that long,but if you do have a lot of media,it is better to copy it directly to your pc and backup only small packs of data(messages,contacts,settings etc).I suggest using myphone explorer for messages and contacts.

Thermal issues with PowerMac G5 Dual 2.0 Processor

I've been having issues with my fans running super loud for no apparent reason. I have been told that my thermal meter for one of my processors has gone bad and that I have to replace both my processors at a cost of over $800! I am simply wondering if there has been any other issues even similar to this one or if anyone can tell me if I really do have to have both processors replaced for this situation. Also, I am wondering if anyone knows how to run the processor diagnostic where I can view my computers feedback for myself.
I am a starving designer and desperate to fix my biggest tool. Please let me know of any possible suggestions or cheap fixxes. If there is no way around replacing both processors, please let me know of any good mac processor retailers! Thanx all!

Issue with HP Z820 64GB RAM and dual Quadro K4000's and rendering and playback performance

I'm having major issues with performance on my system (running windows 8.1. Premiere CC 7.2.2). My friend in the office here has a Mac Pro (2013) with 6 core cpu and dual D500's and I have dual Xeon 2665's and dual K4000's.
The problem is that he can export twice as fast as me on mercury software and almost 3 times faster on Mercury GPU. He can also add twice as many affects before his system drops frames (using same settings and video file). When I go to GPU-Z my gpu's are hardly working with GPU export selected... with software only my CPU's get to 60% load max whereas his CPU get's to about 84%. Am I missing something? I know the D500's are almost the same as W8000's (and he has two), but dual K4000's shouldn't be that far behind? And how does selecting cpu exporting get him an export time of 6 minutes compared to my 15 minutes when I have a 32 threads to work with??
Am I doing something wrong? Have I got a setting somewhere that is causing this that I might have missed? Are dual D500's really THAT much better than dual K4000's? AND HOW is my 7k+ machine that much worse than his £3200 mac?
Please help. I'm losing my mind here!

Edit - Would just like to add that the video files we are using are pro res 422 and that I have the latest bios and latest nvidia performance drivers

That HP Z820 should kick the Mac pros butt! For example we run Autodesk Flame systems ( 150k software) on the Z820's with Quadro 6000 cards and they fly. We also had a new mac pro in for testing a few months ago w the dual fire pro cards all decked out and it was crap next the the Z820. Of cource the new MP cant run allot of highend software because of its lack of nvidia support and the firepros lack of open GL but we did run premier and smoke etc on it for testing. ( Although i thought it looked cool the total lack of exandability and nvida support was to much so we sent it back). Graphic workstations need PCIe expandability and a choice in GPs.
Anyhow here are a few observations:
-Software being used will dertermine the hardware purchased,
-The dual xeons at the much lower clock speed are meant to work 24/7 like a lamans endurance race, not a sprint race. Better to get highest frequency xeons.
-Having dual CPUs with all thoughs cores will only work with a software that is properly mulithreaded, premier is definetly not one of those softwares so you not getting any advantage.
- the advantage to Quadro cards are much more noticable in 3d tha 2d. If your running Autodesk maya, 3ds max or the recently disscontinued XSI you would be flying compared to the W7000.
-dual GPU cards do not preform at twice the speed. On average the second card gives about a 10 percent boost.
-At present ( and as akways) , nividia Quadro drivers are much more uptodate and bug free compared to ATI highend cards. This will inevitably change as openCL over takes openGL, until then Quadros are the clearly superior cards for those with DEEP pockets.
-I think you would have been far better off with a single Quadro 6000 vs dual K4000s. Also any higher end ATI firepro card would have worked since Premier now uses open CL and no longer needs openGL. Main advantage to Quadro at this point ( besides 3D ) is to be compatible with the most softwares and get the best and most optimized drivers. Firepros will work properly in far fewer softwares at this point but I can see a day over the next few years this may change but not as of yet in 2014. So his W7000 wins this sprint race in this single simple example but in most any other situations your cards will actually work and win. I like saving money like the next guy but I even purchase Quadro cards for my home use and experimenting, but Im not a gamer.
-FYI: Cuda core count no longer is true measure. For example older Fermi cards worked at twice the frequency than the newer kepler architecture so in effect today you need double ( actually more) the amount of cuda cores to equal the older cards. Also the true compute power in the new Keplers is also much inferior to the older cards. Its all creative advertiseing today more akin to creative accounting / smoke and mirrors. What im trying to explain is when people read the charts that show the cuda core count and say the higest is best is completely not true. It may have the most "cores" but it will not render correctly, double percision is missing, colors may pop, anti aliasing is inferior and inconsistant, interaction ( most important) and shaders will be buggy or missing. There are very good reasons people spend money on highend Quadro cards but the charts and reviews generically speaking never understand or can even test for this stuff.
-Even given the above scenarios your Z820 should be killing your competition. Using a decked out Z820 is way overkill for anything CC. ( Kinda like driving an F1 to get groceries.) get your HP rep to come over and replace / test your rig. Its free and covered in your coverage.

Lenovo N100 with Intel Sound Card (Speakers Issue)

I was trying to deal with it but no luck on finding any info. The issue is that then I plug external speakers the laptop ones don't mute.
Notebook: Lenovo N100
SoundCard: Audio device: Intel Corporation 82801G (ICH7 Family) High Definition Audio Controller (rev 02)
Kernel: 2.6.17-beyond (from official package)

Any one had a similar issue with more or less similar hardware?

I have very similar problem, my speakers are working, but if I want plug headphones into jack plug-in is nothing happen, speakers are still playing and I couldnt hear anything in headphones.

It was simple problem. I had to recompile kernel without ALSA and install the newest alsa-drivers 1.0.14rc1. Now is working. I hope that this will add to Arch, because this what I've done is unusual and temporary.

Why isn't there a Xperiz Z3v topic for verizon users? It's totally a different phone almost. I'm having the hardest time finding anything with Z3v on it without finding Z3 attached to it. The biggest dissappointment is there is barely any phone cases except the garbage one that verizon offer and these cheap one from China. Another is there barely anything on the sony site on the Z3v, it's like they don't support it. **bleep** I register my phone under other cause there was no option to choose for Xperia Z3v for my device. I go to the store and they just look at me like I've been suckered while I bought thinking it's a sony product. The store told me to go to Verzion like it's not part of there Sony products.
I love the phone but Sony doesn't represent it well at all.

The Z3v its almost the same as the Z3, the difference is the housing and the Qi charger. With that aside, This seems to be an issue not just with Verizon but other carriers, Tmobile has the Z1s and you can only buy cases through them or online, just like the Z3v with Verizon, perhaps that's part of the agreement with Sony.
As for support, there's only one Xperia Care center here in the US

but since you bought the phone through Verizon, you have to go through them, I had a similar issue with AT&T and its the same with Tmobile.
