Specifying schema with stylesheet

How can one specify Schema(xsd) and Stylesheet(xsl) together in an xml file?
I tried doing that, but it gave me problems.
I used:
<note xmlns="http://www.w3schools.com"
xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xsi:schemaLocation="http://www.w3schools.com xsd1.xsd">
And also:
<?xml-stylesheet type="text/xsl" href="xsl1.xsl"?>

Looks okay to me. But then I have no idea of what those "problems" are that you mentioned. Was there a particular reason you didn't tell us what they are?

Specifying Schema Location in XML file and not in the Java code

I have a repository of schema xsd files. When I receive my xml file, I need to validate it against the specified schema. The xml file would declare the schema location, using the following syntax:
<CERD:CERD xsi:schemaLocation = "..\CERD.xsd" xmlns:CERD = "CERD.xsd" xmlns:xsi = "http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance">
Is it really necessary to define the schema location again in the JAVA code? Why set the schemaLocation in the xml file at all then?
Does anybody have any examples where the schema location is not set in the JAVA code? I am using Java 1.6, and at this point in time I only need to validate. Any help would be appreciated.

In my code I am doing this:

I find this works if my schema does not have a target namespace. I have downloaded the following simple example from the internet that uses a target namespace and it fails:

Specify schema name in select statements

Is there a way to specify the schema name for the connection so that I don't have to specify schema name with every statement?
Currently I am executing the statement:
Statement stmt = null;
ResultSet rs = null;
String getAllNames =
"SELECT NAME FROM " + schemaName +".NAMES " + schemaName +" WHERE STATUS_CODE != 12 ";
stmt = conn.createStatement();
rs = stmt.executeQuery(getAllNames);
But I have a lot of such statements, a few which uses parameters.
Is there a way I can specify the schemaName once and for all so that I don't have to perform string concat everytime the function is invoked.

well I tried that, since the application runs under CICS which uses the trusted connection with DB2, all CICS application will be using the same userid and there is no way to ensure that other applications would not be using the same table name in some other application. So the only option I have is to specify the schema name with the select statements but I don't want to append the schema name with each statement.

Discoverer 11g installation, stuck at Specify Schema window

Hi All,
I am trying to install Discoverer 11g and stuck at the specify schema window which asks to key in the connect string and discoverer schema and password.
I tnspinged the database and checked the port name and hostname, and entered the same values in this screen.
I have checked to connect to database as discoverer schema with the same password, it did worked.
but somehow at this screen, it says: "unable to connect to the database with the given credentials

Error creating EO- The specified schema object is not an existng object

hi,
I am getting an error "The specified schema object is not an existing object .Please un check Exisiting Object or select an exisiting object" while creating an EO.
Does any one knows how to get rid of it.

Looks like this is an old thread, but since I had the same problem and figured it out, I though I'll share it here:
What I figured is that in the Select Schema Object wizard, if I prefix the schema object with the schema name, then the attributes are fetched from the database. like this:
dbo.employeeinstead of this:
employeewhich is kind of strange because the schema is already mentioned in the database schema section and jdeveloper fills the object value after we choose it.

I am Using Jdev 11.1.2.2
I am connecting to Mysql DB, When am creating a EO with in the same schema, am getting following error:
The specified schema object name is not an existing object. Unselect Existing Object or enter an existing schema object.in jdev
If i unchecked the existing schema its creating empty eo, it is unable mapping the attributes. So how can resolve it.
Pl help out me.

We applied the ODM 10.1.0.3 patch. I am using Oracle Data Miner. I enter the connection information in the initial screen and I am getting the following error "Specified schema is not configured for use with Oracle Data Mining". I would appreciate if you have any thoughts.

We have found out what causes this problem
The user which is connected to with the data mining tool must have the DMUSER_ROLE
Otherwise it displays the error above and fails to start

How to register the same schema with same URL

I'm getting ORA-31085 error when try to register the same schema with same URl.
My requirement is that I should be able to reregister the same schema with the same URL .
I'm using the following function :

Error creating OIM schema with RCU 11.1.1.3.3 (RCU-6135)

I'm trying to install Oracle Access & Identity Management 11g on Windows Server 2003 32bit machine

I have installed Oracle Database 11.2.0.1.0
After that I try to create required schemas using RCU 11.1.1.3.3 and constantly get failed on creating OIM schema with error RCU-6135:Error while trying to execute Java action..
All other schemas were created successfully.
I've checked oim.log and there were no sql errors.
In the rcu.log I found next messages:

I've tried to run RCU 11.1.1.3.3 on Ubuntu 32-bit and OIM schema creation failed again but with another error RCU-1636 Failed to start PL/SQL engine.
After that I found RCU 11.1.1.4, downladed it and this version created all schemas successfully.
Hope all other components will be ok with new version of RCU

Import Schema with tables resized

I've created a new database and would like to import a schema from another database. I want everything from the schema I'm importing however I want to resize the tables.
I was wondering what would be the best way to handle this. I can create the tables first with the new specs and then import the schema with the "ignore=yes" option. I'm not sure however if this will cause errors. Any suggestions?

Hi,
If you exported data with "compress=y" option (which is the default) tables would be automatically reorganized (import create one extent = total actual size).
Anyway, if you need a different size for your tables, the procedure you posted is correct.

How can I use a mySQL database schema with numeric auto increment primary key instead of GUID?

Hello!
I'm using the TestStand "MySQL Insert (NI)" database schema with GUID as primary key. So everything works fine.
But I prever using numeric values as primary key, because the database is in conjunction with another database which uses numeric values as primary key.
Is this possible?
Has anyone an idea how I can modify the "Generic Recordset (NI)" for use with MySQL?

The TestStand Database Logging feature does not allow you to run a separate SQL command after executing the command for a statement(table), so I do not think that you can use an auto incrementing column for the tables. There is just no way to get it back in a generic way. One option that I tried is something similar to the Oracle schema where you call a store procedure to return a sequence ID for each record that you want to add.
So you would have to create the following sequence table in MySQL:
CREATE TABLE sequence (id INT NOT NULL);
INSERT INTO sequence VALUES (0);
Then create a stored procedure as shown below that will increment the sequence value and return it in a recordset:
CREATE PROCEDURE `getseqid`()
BEGIN
        UPDATE sequence SET id=LAST_INSERT_ID(id+1);
        SELECT LAST_INSERT_ID();
END
Then update the MySQL tables to use INT primary and foreign key values, so the TestStand MySQL SQL file to create all tables would have text like this:
CREATE TABLE UUT_RESULT
ID    INT PRIMARY KEY,
~
CREATE TABLE STEP_RESULT
ID    INT PRIMARY KEY,
UUT_RESULT   INT NOT NULL,
~
Then update the schema primary and foreign key columns in the TestStand Database Options dialog box to be INT to match the table. For the primary key columns, you will have to set the Primary Key Type to "Get Value from Recordset" and set the Primary Key Command Text to "call getseqid()". This will call the stored procedure to determine the next value to use as the ID value.

Clone schema with current db objects and data.

Hi Cloud expert,
I need feature to clone existing schema and create new schema with schema as a service. I created profile that export schema with database objects and data. I created template that use the profile created. While provisioning the template I found all the database objects with template. Now I need a solution to clone the current schema with all the objects at current time. The way I tried contains all the objects that were exists while exporting the schema. I need the solution to clone schema so that it will contains all the objects and data right now.
While reading document I found snapclone but that is not the exactly the solution I need. I simply need to clone schema with latest db object and data with Self Service portal.

One option is to run BACKUP/RESTORE, once you have restored you run:
SELECT 'ALTER TABLE ' + quotename(s.name) + '.' + quotename(o.name) +
   ' DISABLE TRIGGER ALL '
FROM   sys.schemas s
JOIN   sys.objects o ON o.schema_id = s.schema_id
WHERE o.type = 'U'
AND EXISTS (SELECT *
   FROM   sys.triggers tr
   WHERE tr.parent_id = o.object_id)
Copy result and paste into a query window do to run. Next:
SELECT 'DELETE ' + quotename(s.name) + '.' + quotename(o.name)
FROM   sys.schemas s
JOIN   sys.objects o ON o.schema_id = s.schema_id
WHERE o.type = 'U'
Run this result until you don't get any more errors.
Run the first query again, but change DISABLE to ENABLE.
This is more long-winding than scripting, particularly if you have lots of data. But you know that you will not make any changes whatsoever to the schema.
The scripting in SSMS generally does it right, I believe, but some items are not scripted by default. If you run BACKUP/RESTORE, you know that you get a faithful copy.
Of course, the best way is to keep your code under version control and take the version control system as your ultimate truth.

How can I export schema with all objects and few tables without data

Hi all
Verion 10g EE.
I have to export schema with all objects but i need to ingnore some of the table data.
There are 4 table those have huge data, we need not to export those tables data but structure should export.

You can do this with a single command. Run your export as normal and add query parameters for the 4 tables that you don't want any rows:
expdp ... query=schema1.table1:"where rownum = 0" query=schema2.table2:"where rownum = 0" ...
It is best to put the query parameters in a parameter file so you don't have to worry about escaping any OS special characters.
