Specifying table with jdbc-class-map-name

Greetings
How do I specify the name of the table to map to when using the jdbc-
class-map-name hint?
In my jdo file, I have specified:
<class name="Customer" objectid-class="CustomerId">
<extension vendor-name="kodo" key="jdbc-class-map-name" value="base">
<extension vendor-name="kodo" key="table" value="PERSONS"/>
</extension>
but when mappingtool generates the mapping file, the "table" hint
is ignored, and I end up with the following in the .mapping file:
<class name="Customer">
<jdbc-class-map type="base" table="FRED.CUSTOMER"/>
What I really want to see in the above jdbc-class-map is:
table="FRED.PERSONS"
I am using the property setting: kodo.jdbc.Schemas: FRED
Note that mapping fields to columns using jdbc-field-map-name
seems to work fine...
Any clues? Thanks.
droo.

You can't specify table or column names via mapping tool hints. The
typical way to change the default names is either to override the
getValidTableName/getValidColumnName methods in a custom DBDictionary
for systematic changes, or to follow the process outlined in example 7.6
on this page:

    I presume its saying the table doesnt exist because its looking for MYTABLENAME rather than MyTableName and doing this because its ignoring the double quotes. Any ideas?

    Or, let the export prompt you for the table name:

  • Performance issue when inserting into spatial indexed table with JDBC

    We have a table named 'feature' which has a "sdo_geometry" column, and we created spatial index on that column,
    CREATE TABLE feature ( id number, desc varchar, oshape sdo_gemotry)
    CREATE INDEX feature_sp_idx ON feature(oshape) INDEXTYPE IS MDSYS.SPATIAL_INDEX;
    Then we executed the following SQL to insert about 800 records into that table(We tried this by using DB visualizer and
    our Java application, both of them were using JDBC driver to connect to the oracle 11gR2 database) .
    insert into feature(id,desc,oshape) values (1001,xxx,xxxxx);
    insert into feature (id,desc,oshape) values (1002,xxx,xxxxx);
    insert into feature (id,desc,oshape) values (1800,xxx,xxxxx);
    We encoutered the same problem as this topic
    Performance of insert with spatial index
    It takes nearly 1 secs for inserting one record,compare to 50 records inserted per sec without spatial index,
    which is 50x drop in peformance when doing insertion with spatial index.
    However, when we copy and paste those insertion scripts into Oracle Client(same test and same table with spatial index), we got a totally different performance result:
    more than 50 records inserted in 1 secs, just as fast as the insertion without building spatial index.
    Is it because Oracle Client is not using JDBC? Perhaps JDBC was got something wrong when updating those spatial indexed tables.

    Normally JDBC use auto-commit. So each insert can causes a commit.
    I don't know about Oracle Client. In sqlplus, insert is just a insert,
    and you execute "commit" to explicitly commit your changes.
    So maybe this is the reason.

    If you are thinking of IPv6 prefix I tried everything. From /128 for single host to /64, nothing works.

  • Accessing synonym tables with jdbc

    accessing synonym tables with oracle jdbc driver 9i
    hi
    i'm having a problem selecting, updating, inserting and retrieving metadata from synonym tables.
    simple example is selecting from a table that is a synonym, i receive ORA-00942 table or view does not exist.
    is there any way to access synonym tables using the oracle jdbc driver?
    any help would be most appreciated.
    thanks
    Takis

    Hi Mirco,
    you can create your own function module to read TOA01 table and call this function module. It is a 5 minutes job of your ABAP programmer.
    To read list of BAPIs existing in your system call transaction BAPI.
    Generally there is no reason to read SAP tables. Think about 15.000 - 20.000 tables of standard SAP Web AS. No one is able to give you data model. You have to use business objects and their methods.

    Hi David,
    The "autocreate-tables" attribute is defined in the DTD for the "orion-application.xml" file. This file is usually generated automatically by OC4J, from your application's "application.xml" file when you deploy your application. (Note that subsequent [re-]deployments of your application will not change the "orion-application.xml" file.)
    The default value for this attribute is 'true', and the default is defined in the "application.xml" file that is located in the "j2ee/home/config" subdirectory of the OC4J installation.
    Hope this answers your question.
    Good Luck,
    Avi.

  • Exporting a table with Long datatype col. name

    Thanks.
    Pankaj Patel.

    Just wanted to find out, if you already solved this problem. I have a similar issue with long column. I am trying to sql dump a table with long column that will be imported into another database(probably using sql*load), but the spooled file puts the data from the long column in separate lines 80 char long and not on a single line. I have set the long to 64000 and linesize to 32000. Wrap is on too.

  • Problems with Embedded classes mapping

    Hi,
    I'm experiencing problems for table generation with the following case:
    a class declares two fields; one of them typed as a subclass of the other; both fields annotated with @Embedded; the subclass uses the annotation @AttributeOverride to avoid column names duplication.
    When the tables are generated, one of the field (the most specialized one) is simply omitted by the JPA implementation...
    To illustrate my problem, here is an example:
    @Entity
    public class Bar implements Serializable {
         @Embedded
         protected Foo foo = null;
         @Id
         @GeneratedValue(strategy=GenerationType.SEQUENCE)
         protected long id = -1;
         @Embedded
         protected SubFoo subFoo = null;
         public Bar() {
                    super();
            // getters & setters
    @Embeddable
    public class Foo implements Serializable {
         @Column
         protected String bar = null;
         @Column
         protected String foo = null;
         public Foo() {
              super();
            // getters & setters
    @Embeddable
    @AttributeOverrides({
         @AttributeOverride(name="bar", column=@Column(name="subbar")),
         @AttributeOverride(name="foo", column=@Column(name="subfoo"))
    public class SubFoo extends Foo {
         public SubFoo() {
                    super();
    }The generated table BAR contains only 3 columns: ID, FOO, BAR...
    ...and what I expect is two additionnal columns named SUBFOO & SUBBAR!
    Can someone tell me: if I definitely need to go back to school (I'm obviously not an EJB expert), or how to make it work as I expect...?
    Thanks
    -Jerome

    I found the note in the EJB specs that clearly states that my issue has no solution at this time:
    "Support for collections of embedded objects and for the polymorphism and inheritance of embeddable classes will be required in a future release of this specification."
    EJB 3.0 specs - final release - persistence, page 23, note 10 in section 2.1.5

  • How to find the OWNER of a table with JDBC metaData?

    Hi,
    i write a dynamique dataBase gui for multiple dataBase (oracle, postgre..)
    I want to use JDBC meta data to configure the gui
    I can't find methode to optain a specifique table list for a owner...
    with getTablePrivileges I see the Grantor but not the owner (the grantor isn't always the owner)
    and I can't use schema because schema isn't supported by postgre
    some one can help me ?
    thanks a lot
    Christophe

    Yes of course but it is DataBase dependent...
    and I want to use different DataBase...And what sort of owner would you expect in a MS Access
    database?
    if they are only one user we work only whith one "schema owner" the data base is structured in this way
    but when multi user is possible we want to work with specifique relation beetwen different user ...
    we want to use users because more dataBase suppport multiple owner than multiple schema
    and generaly our information are divide in
    genereral and referential information ( explain of data and list of values etc ...)
    and the specifique data.
    And our GUI distingue the "META DATA" and the pure "DATA" and propose specifique properties to interact with those data
    i hope that my problem is better explain now .
    example we use
    resultSet = connection.getMetaData().getTables("","%","%",new String[]{"TABLE","VIEW"});
    to optain all the table and view
    resultSet = connection.getMetaData().getTablePrivileges(null,null,"tableName");
    to optain privileges for a table
    the trouble is that in specifique catatalog table like oracle we find a colomn whith the owner properites and when we use getTablePrivileges we can't see it idem for posgree
    Each privilige description has the following columns:
    TABLE_CAT String => table catalog (may be null)
    TABLE_SCHEM String => table schema (may be null)
    TABLE_NAME String => table name
    GRANTOR => grantor of access (may be null)
    GRANTEE String => grantee of access
    PRIVILEGE String => name of access
    IS_GRANTABLE String => "YES" if grantee is permitted to grant to others; "NO" if not; null if unknown
    has you see we have GRANTOR information but not OWNER information
    and the GRANTOR isn't allways the OWNER ...

  • Query to list tables with a particular column name in a schema!!

    Is there any way to know?
    Thanks in advance.

    You can query the data dictionary views to get this information.
    For example
    untested
    select table_name
    from user_tab_columns
    where column_name = 'my particular column name';There is also all_tab_columns and dba_tab_columns. Both of which would include the schema name.

  • How to specify table name using xdoclet

    Hi
    I'm trying to specify a table name using xdoclet 1.2.
    I've tried the @sql.table, but that ain't working (no table mapping name is
    writen to the *.jdo)
    I've tried using the @jdo.class-vendor-extension with key=table and
    value=tablename, but that ain't working either.
    I guess number two approach ain't working because kodo want table name
    extension inside another extension like this:
    <extension vendor-name="kodo" key="jdbc-class-map" value="base">
    <extension vendor-name="kodo" key="table" value="tablename"/>
    </extension>
    But, how do I specify the above using xdoclet?
    Regards
    Jesper

    Ok.
    Is it possible somehow to just tell kodo to use another table name without
    having to create mapping extensions for collections and stuff. Even better
    if one could specify a table name prefix to be used on all tables.
    My problem is that I need use kodo on an existing database having tables
    names that conflict with kodo's auto-generated tables names. The schematool
    will then try alter these tables :-(

    When you use metadata mapping extensions, you should not generate
    .mapping files as all that info is stored in the .jdo file. You should
    instead set kodo.jdbc.MappingFactory to metadata.

    Now I run the mappingtool (with option refresh) and it generates a
    mapping
    file like this:
    <mapping>
    <package name="dk.pine.users.services.model">
    <class name="Role">
    <jdbc-class-map type="base" pk-column="JDOID"
    table="dbo.ROLE0"/>
    <jdbc-version-ind type="version-number"column="JDOVERSION"/>
    <jdbc-class-ind type="in-class-name" column="JDOCLASS"/>
    <field name="description">
    <jdbc-field-map type="value" column="DESCRIPTION"/>
    </field>
    <field name="name">
    <jdbc-field-map type="value" column="NAME0"/>
    </field>
    <field name="systemRole">
    <jdbc-field-map type="value" column="SYSTEMROLE"/>
    </field>
    <field name="users">
    <jdbc-field-map type="many-many"
    element-column.JDOID="JDOID" ref-column.JDOID="ROLES_JDOID"
    table="dbo.USER0_ROLES"/>
    </field>
    </class>
    </package>
    </mapping>
    I expected it to create a BW_ROLE, but it create a ROLE0 table????

    You can use slashes to denote sub extensions.
    See the example near the bottom of this link:

    I've tried using the @jdo.class-vendor-extension with key=table and
    value=tablename, but that ain't working either.
    I guess number two approach ain't working because kodo want table name
    extension inside another extension like this:
    <extension vendor-name="kodo" key="jdbc-class-map" value="base">
    <extension vendor-name="kodo" key="table" value="tablename"/>
    </extension>
    But, how do I specify the above using xdoclet?

  • Help with Class-map configuration - ZBFW

    Hello,
    I need some clarification regarding the class-map configuration in a ZBFW. I need to allow https,http,ftp & rdp traffic from Internet to few of the servers inside our LAN. So I put the below configuration to accomplish the task (example shows class-map for only https protocol) :
    a.)
    class-map type inspect match-all HTTPS-ACCESS
    match protocol https
    match access-group name HTTPS-SERVER-ACCESS
    ip access-list extended HTTPS-SERVER-ACCESS
    permit tcp any host 172.17.0.55 eq 443
    permit tcp any host 172.17.0.56 eq 443
    permit tcp any host 172.17.0.36 eq 443
    permit tcp any host 172.17.0.45 eq 443
    permit tcp any host 172.17.0.60 eq 443
    Where 55,56,36,45,60 are the servers inside the LAN (12 more servers are there) that need to be accessed via https,http,ftp & rdp from Internet.
    Is it a correct approach? or do I need to change my configuation so that I have to match ACL with my class-map like below:
    b.)
    ip access-list extended OUTSIDE-TO-INSIDE-ACL
    permit tcp any host 172.17.0.55 eq 443
    permit tcp any host 172.17.0.55 eq www
    permit tcp any host 172.17.0.55 eq 21
    permit tcp any host 172.17.0.55 eq 3389
    permit tcp any host 172.17.0.56 eq 443
    permit tcp any host 172.17.0.56 eq www
    permit tcp any host 172.17.0.56 eq 21
    permit tcp any host 172.17.0.56 eq 3389
    permit tcp any host 172.17.0.36 eq 443
    permit tcp any host 172.17.0.36 eq www
    permit tcp any host 172.17.0.36 eq 21
    permit tcp any host 172.17.0.36 eq 3389
    permit tcp any host 172.17.0.45 eq 443
    permit tcp any host 172.17.0.45 eq www
    permit tcp any host 172.17.0.45 eq 21
    permit tcp any host 172.17.0.45 eq 3389
    class-map type inspect match-all OUT-IN-CLASS
    match access-group name OUTSIDE-TO-INSIDE-ACL
    Which one is the correct approach when we consider the performance of the firewall ? Please help me.
    Regards,
    Yadhu

    Hey
    I do not agree with Varun, I think the first approach is the best one.
    Why? Because when you issue the "match protocol ..." you are usig NBAR wich is an application inspection software, which means that https or whatever protocol is inspected at layer 7, not layer 3 and 4 which the seconds approach does (IP and port-number).
    Lets say you use the second approach and an attacker uses some malicious protocol that runs over port 443 or whatever (a port that you opened).  That attack would be successfull because all you say, you are going to IP-address 172.17.0.56 over port 443 so go ahead.
    But if you are using NBAR, this would not work because NBAR will look at layer 7, inside the protocol itself and look if this really is HTTPS (or whatever protocol).
    That's my two cents. Hope it helped!

  • How to create table with list/map value binding

    I need to display few values in a tabular format. Is it possible to create adf table without having value binding to a VO object. Can I make a table with some list/map combination.
    I want to change the display format with minimum change in the application. Hence I am looking for a change to define a list/map and map it with the table.
    Following is the structure I need to display in.
    |     |Header1|Header2 |
    |_______|_______|_______|
    |Txt R1 |value 1 |Value 2 |
    |_______|_______|_______|
    |Txt R2 |Value 3 |value 4 |
    |_______|_______|_______|
    All the views does not have any relation. Hence I should not create a VO and adding rows of the VO object.

    Yes, you can do it. Create a pojo with the properties(column) you want to display in the table and create a list with the instances of pojos and then you can populate your table using the list.
    Sample:
    //POJO
    public class SamplePojo {
    private String col1;
    private String col2;
    public SamplePojo(String col1, String col2){
      this.col1 = col1;
      this.col2 = col2;
    //add setter and getter methods
    //Inside bean, prepare a list with pojo instances (Assume a getter exists for pojoList)
    pojoList = new ArrayList();
    pojoList .add(new SamplePojo("Value1", "Value2");
    pojoList .add(new SamplePojo("Value3", "Value4");
    etc.
    //Inside jspx
    <af:table value="#{<Bean>.pojoList}" var="pojo" ...>
       <af:column headerText="Header1" ..>
         <af:outputText value="#{pojo.col1}"/>
       <af:column>
       <af:column headerText="Header2" ..>
         <af:outputText value="#{pojo.col2}"/>
       <af:column>
    </af:table>HTH
