Speeding up RFC to XI

we have a process to load a SQL DB with our open enrollment records.
I have an outbound interface that generates the offers and calls an RFC to XI which populates to SQL DB.
During a mass load, it took 5-12 seconds per person to be loaded into SQL (each person has ~100 records).
I had been using just the
CALL FUNCTION 'XXXXX' DESTINATION v_dest
- i believe this is a Synchronous call - which we really don't need it to be.
How do I make it Asynchronous? by adding
IN BACKGROUND TASK
Is there such a thing as
IN PARALLEL TASK
? I couldn't find anything on that.
thanks,
robert.

CALL FUNCTION func ...STARTING NEW TASK task name.
Effect
Starts the function module func asynchronously in a new session. In contrast to normal function module calls, the calling program resumes processing as soon as the function module is started in the target system. It does not wait until the function module has finished. Using CALL SCREEN, the called function module can, for example, display a screen and thus interact with the user. Note that taskname must be a valid string of at least 2 characters, preferably fewer than 8 characters. You cannot use either ' ' or SPACE as tasknames.

  • Sync RFC scenario VS BPM scenario -- speed doubt

    Hello friends!
      My case:
I have to choose between 2 scenarios:
    1) SAP(Idoc) <=> XI <=> ThirdPart(WebService)
    2) SAP(s\q\tRFC) <=> XI <=> ThirdPart(WebService)
    In 1st scenario I need to use BPM. In 2sd I needn't.
So I want to know which way more simple to implement and more speedy.
    Thanks in advance!
    Alexandr

    hi
The first case is easier i.e with BPM...in terms of hadling errors..to send any alerts.....
if you want any weblogs i can post for you

  • New FiOS GigE Wireless 'N' Router has slowed our wireless speed to a crawl...need help!

This past Tuesday I installed the new N router.  Also, we upgraded to FiOS Quantum 75/35 (previously 15/5).  That was activated the following day.  I can't complain about the internet speed to our pc since it's wired.  Speed tests showed we were getting what was advertised. :-)
For the wifi, I can't figured out for the life of me what's causing our devices (e.g., our Nexus 7 tablets) to have a link speeds of 65Mbps one minute and then drop down to 5 or even 1.  The same situation was happening with my HTC Incredible II phone, but I think that connection was tapping out at 54Mbps.  The bottom would just drop out of the signal for some reason.  Other times we couldn't even connect back in.  The devices would say they're not in range even when they were in front of the router.  Not sure if I fubarred the router install or what?  I just swapped out the current Fios router for this new one.  Pretty straightforward.  At first, I logged into the router software with the defaults, but then I changed the the username, pswd, SSID, etc. to match what I used previously.  I thought it was working fine the night of the install but not so much after Fios got bumped up in speed the following day.  Maybe just a co-inky-dink?
I know you never get the same speeds compared to a wired pc but this seems worse (wifi-wise) than before the new router came along.  I've read that the 'N' routers can be finicky to set-up to run properly.  Maybe a setting or two is off?
I don't know if the fact that my son's netbook's wifi card is only b/g compatible would slow our network down?  At this point I'm grasping at straws!  I talked with tech support last night for 40 mins to no avail.  I got the usual story about wireless devices running slower than wired ones, that these smaller devices aren't capable to maintaining higher speeds (which I'm not sure I agree with 100%), the more active devices you have slows down your network, etc, etc.  I get all that.  But something is going on or actually, it's not.  LOL!
Why I don't agree with the above statement I mentioned is because I have my tablet at work now and the wifi speed is 54Mbps and it's constant.  So it seems to have no problems with this speed, unlike what I was told over the phone.
Let me know if I can provide any further technical details that'll make it easier to help diagnose our wifi issues.
Thanks for listening to me whine ,

    Thanks for the help, Hubrisnxs.
Here's an update since I got home:
Nexus7 (N7) took a min or so to connect to wifi when I got home.  When it did, speed said 65Mbps.  So I ran speedtest.net and got 27/20.  Shortly after that I tried again but it was hesitating.  I checked the speed and it was down to 5Mbps.  Brought it upstairs to router and pc, and eventually it was back to 65.  Ran speed test a few more times with similar results.  I did notice that the connection would intermittently come and go.  Not sure why.  Looking at the wifi section  on my N7, it says our network is out of range and the N7 is 2' from the router.  Every now and then my network will go to the top of the list and it'll say it's obtaining ip address, then secured with wpa/wpa2 psk and it's locked in.  So I hit the connect button and it's out of range again.  Of course, while I was typing it decided to connect after 10-15 mins of trying/nothing.  Says, signal strength excellent, 52 Mbps.  Spoke too soon.  It's off again.  Crap!  Back on again but speed was 19, now 5.
I did check router settings and this is what I have:
    Performance mode ('n')
    WPA2 AES
    Channel 1
    nonbroadcasting SSID
Maybe I'll try channel 11 next.....

  • Not getting anywhere near the speeds I should be...

For a very long time, most likely since we've had the service, I have gotten very poor speeds. Where we should be getting 512Kbps-1Mbps according to our HSI plan, the maximum speed I have ever gotten is and was 91Kbps. According to my router page(192.168.1.1) it should be862 Kbps down / 159 Kbps up. I have benchmarked it many times, and the average is 91kbps down 16kbps up. The DSL lines and my phone lines have been tested and are fine.

  • Error in pushing a request to R3 System using RFC Adapter

I am trying to send a request to R3 system using an RFC Adapter as my end point and pointing to
the Application server of the  R3 box.
In the Transaction SM58 I see and error saying "<i><b>Exception in handleRequest of server Xmb2RfcService: java.lang.Exception:</b></i>"

  • RFC and Webservice which one i should use and why?

    Hi,
I have to write a extractor program in BI which would be fetching a huge data from CRM.
I have two options to achieve this targer.
1-> Create a RFC which will give me all the data
2-> Create a Webservice in CRM and use it in BI
Please advice me , which way i should go and advantage of that way.
    Regards
    PG

    Hi,
If amount of data is huge then it is recomnded to use RFC because of its speed and reliability. Webservice not yet proven good for extracting and handling very large chunk of data.

  • Speed up Client EXPORT and Client import

    Hi,
how to speed up the client export/import process (from scc8/scc7)?
There is no profile,if we want User master records and the client specific data. then can we over write the client 2times first with user master data and then followed by client specific import.
Main requirement is to Export Production client Specific data and users with authorization as CLIENT EXPORT (finally we can import the requests generated by client export) after importing to DEV server once can use as Quality client.
please give your valuable suggestions in having client export and import to make Quality client in DEV server.
DEV and PRD patch levels are different (remote client copy will fail in RFC system comparison)
request you to give your valuable inputs.
    thanking you in anticipation,
    best regards,
    Raghav

    Hi Chowdary,
This is not a big issue.
You please find the TR list which are not moved PRD.
Goto PRD->STMS_IMPORT find the TR list (which are in white color symbol) not moved to PRD.
Then ask the respective consultant about TRs. Then re-import the TR in QAS. The old configuration will be occured in QAS. The TR which is moved to QAS, Now also it will be in green color only. But just re-import it and get the confirmation form respective consultant. But the user details will not available.
    hope this is useful.
    Regards,
    Patan Thavaheer.

  • Wan speed in distributed SAP installations

    Dear experts,
development / tests system and production/simulation systems are geographically located in different places and hence the /usr/sap/trans is located at the production systems.
In this case what should be the Wan speed recommended in distributed SAP installation for the NFS mount?
Is there a note, document or tool to evaluate the architecture?
    Regards,
    Chidu

I don't know any documentation regarding this, as it's highly dependent on your usage profile of data interchange between the systems. Consider the load of following maintenance activities (list is not complete): pure transport load, client copies (RFC or TMS), system copies (backup/restore infrastructure), support packages, upgrades, connection to central systems (SLD, SolMan, Portal).
Due to this generally I would not advise to separate systems of one landscape into several datacenters without proper reason.
On the other side if you have to do so, I think /usr/sap/trans will not make any problems with midsize enterprise WAN connection (>= 2MBit sync.). But you will have to bear in mind that connection could be slower if you need to transfer more date (e.g. syscopy from P to Q). Best will be : set it up, test it, and for the case that there will be any problems save the possibility to enhance bandwidth afterwards.

  • What speed should I be getting?

I got an engineer out today because of the noise on the line and he was very good. He replaced the cable from the pole to my premises and my sync speed has went up from around 2000Kbps odd to around 7000Kbps.
Whenever I do speedtests though, I get around 3Mbps, shouldn't it be higher than this?
Here's my stats, and also... if I did ever get up to 8Mbps, would I ever be able to get Infinity? My cabinet and exchange are enabled (definitely).
So my speedtests come up at about 3Mbps, what can I do to get it higher if the sync speed is near 7400Kbps

    I don't have a Home Hub 2 - I use a Linksys WAG354G

  • RFC FM

    Hello,
I am currently facing a weird problem. When I call a RFC FM it returned with a short dump CALL_FUNCTION_REMOTE_ERROR.
So I implemented the exceptions as pointed out in note 1371131. This way I figured it returns with a SYSTEM_FAILURE.
Now the weird part is I call several RFC FMs calling the same system which work just fine. There is just this one which is giving me problems.
And in the end to make it even weirder when I tried debugging the problem the FM works just fine and doesn't return with this SYSTEM_FAILURE.
Has anyone ever faced such a problem? Please provide me with intel.
    Best regards,
    John

    Hi John,
One major cause for problems disappearing in debug mode are often [race conditions|http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Race_condition] (though of course there might be others). I.e. by invoking the debugger you most likely slow down the program execution and thus might miss issues that only show up if the program is executed at "full speed"...
But still I am curious about the cause of this problem.
Ok, you lost me in your explanation what you actually do. However, let's assume for now that you're calling an RFC in an ABAP system. In that case a SYSTEM_FAILURE exception should correspond to a short dump in the target system (i.e. where the RFC is executed) and you should be able to see the cause in ST22. So if you're really curious I'd recommend to check short dumps or exceptions in your target system, which should give you further information. Heck, even the exception message returned by SYSTEM_FAILURE might already tell you enough...
Unless you post further details I doubt that anybody will be able to provide you any explanation (it's more an invitation to a guessing game that usually attracts silly answers).
    Cheers, harald

  • 153/35...... i could us some help actually achieving those speeds

so ive seen posts about people not seeing the speeds that there paying for. ive tried the some of the solutions and ive increased my speeds quite a bit but there still nowhere near what im paying for. my computer is http://us.toshiba.com/computers/laptops/satellite/C850/C855-S5239/ its nothing special but it is capable of wireless N speeds.so i figured hey my computer may not be able to handle the full speeds to i purchased this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16833320089, between adjusting my router(mi424wr rev.i) settings WAP2 and changing it to wirless n performance mode ive gotten my speeds from 41/40 to 70/61 . while this is great ..... its not what im paying for.i plan on getting another router and  bridging it becasue this one pretty much seems to suck .but until then i could use some help with my setup now
    thanks

First, you need to test with a wired connection. Make sure you are getting the speeds you pay for from Verizon before you make sure they are translating to your wireless network.

  • What does this mean in lay terms: server does not support RFC 5746, see CVE-2009-3555

This error turns up sometimes most of the time associated with another message that says that the 'server timeout.'

'''''"server does not support RFC 5746, see CVE-2009-3555"'''''<br />
That message is meant for webmasters to make them aware that they need to fix their servers. Firefox 3.6 versions can detect such a misconfiguration and displays a warning in the "Tools > Error Console".

  • My upload speed is very slow

hello I have 15/5 fios internet. My upload speed is extremely slow and it is affecting even browsing. I have a pc desktop windows 7 ~1 year old via ethernet to the router that was just sent to me by tech support to attempt to solve the problem. The new router is installed and it didn't solve the upload speed problem. Phone tech support told me to update my geforce 560 drivers but that didn't help either. Below are the speed test stats. Any other ideas? I've reset the system and power cycled the router as well. Another note is that the upload speeds are fine on the laptop connected via wifi? Strange. So I presume it is a settings issue with my desktop?

I am looking at this. But please go back to your post and under options, select edit reply/post. Remove your IP Address at the bottom of the information.
I have run a trace route to your IP and one route indicates 67 RT (ms) and another indicates 78 RT (ms) from my location in Maryland, and from what I see you are in Tampa. Another good reason not to post your IP. It could be a security risk for you, even though your router acts as a firewall. The response times to you do not look bad, but perhaps after loading the new drivers, you may need to optimize your connection again.
Also try the faster speed test even if you only have 15/5, and see if it makes any difference.
Have you run the optimizer? You must open your Internet Explorer by right clicking on it and selecting run as administrator. Then copy and paste this url into the open browser.

  • 3meg DSL Download speed running at dial-up speed

Since last week I’ve been getting DSL download speeds that are basically dial-up speeds.  I have the 3 meg plan and for the past 10 years or so, I came close to a 2 meg download connection speed regularly.
Last week my download speed basically disappeared.  I spent hours on the phone with Verizon Tech Support during the week.  (Their standared 72 hours to assign a service call after creating a service ticket is bogus.) A Verizon DSL tech spent 5 hours at my house on Saturday and said the problem is on VERIZON’S END with their servers.  He did it all, replaced internal wires, used his modem for the tests, checked speeds at the NID, took the router out of play, tried to get new wires from the service on the street, and still could not resolve the issue.
I show the correct 3360/864kbs connection on my DSL Modem (Actiontec GT701D) but my download speed is averaging 33K to 60K using 4 different speed tests.  DSL disconnects at random also. My upload speed is typically around 700kbs – where it should be.
My most recent test is from this morning:
    Checking for Middleboxes . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Done
    SendBufferSize set to [8192]
    running 10s outbound test (client to server) . . . . . 591.76Kb/s

The connection was idle 1.36 seconds (5.03%) of the time
This connection is network limited 99.9% of the time.
Excessive packet loss is impacting your performance, check the auto-negotiate function on your local PC and network switch

This performance drop off is totally unacceptable.  What’s really interesting is that my service call has been closed out as “resolved”.  Which is obviously has not.  I am now being forced to go through support again to “diagnose” my problem.
I’ve been researching (painfully) these speed issues and have determined they are a chronic problem going back to at least 2006 for many DSL customers.  The issue seems to be they have oversold DSL services and overcrowd their local Central Office servers and routers.  There is supposed to be some performance issue regarding Redbank and Juniper switches.  Redbank is supposed to be more reliable and Juniper aren't so.  I also believe their latest “optimizing” software may also be part of the problem.
For the first time EVER, I am seriously considering converting to COMCAST because no one at Verizon (other than the DSL tech) will acknowledge they are the cause of my issue.
Anyone have a realistic idea as to what needs to be done at the Central Office to correct this issue?
    Thanks for your time.

Consider yourself lucky. I have had the 3Mb plan for over ten years and initially had regular speeds of 1.5 to 3.0...until a new development was put in a block away, they were connected to Verizon, and my speeds dropped to 205 kbps down/805 kbps up at the copper drop in my basement. Many calls to Verizon resulted in modem upgrades (currently the Westell 6100) and reassurances from Verizons foreign help desk that my service was performing normally. Promises of FIOS soon being available in my area (Cedar Brook, NJ) have kept me hanging on but I stopped holding my breath a few years ago.  Hopefully your service will be restored - mine most likely never will.
