Spl Additition duty on Capital

Special additional duty 0f 4% on imported assets is cenvatable. However we want to avail cenvat credit of entire 100% of SAD.
Refer below example
CVD - 100
SAD - 40
Ecess  - 20
Then System is taking cenvat credit for both CVD and SAD but only 50% and remaining 50% is going to onhold account.
We want to take CVD 50% but SAD should be 100%.
Any clues
Best Regards..

Hai Sagar
Please check in J1iD what is the material type you have given
If it is Assets then it is going to take the register entry as RG23 C Part I , Part II . As per standard rules it will be doing in this fashion of 50 % credit and 50% on Hold .
Can you treat this material as raw material so that 100% credit can be availed but one issue it will update your RG23A instead of C .
If further needed then you have to go for Z modification of this so that you can achieve ur results.

  • Credit of Add Custom Duty in capital purchases at the time of J1iex

    Hello,
As you all are aware that Indian law allows taking the 100 % credit of additional customs duty in case of capital procurement and only 50 % credit of CVD, Cess on CVD and S Ces s on CVD at the time of J1iex in first year itself
We are facing the problem in PRD client that, we are not able to take the 100 % credit of Additional Customs duty at the time of posting the J1iex. System considering only 50 % for all duties.
I have tried the same scnerio in development client and observed that it is working ok there.
Request you all to give your inputs on the above.
    Thanks,

    Dear,
The reversal entry done by J2I8 and the adjustment entry done by J1IH would not impact the J1IEX document posted. Hence the MIRO would still be representing the values of the J1IEX posted values. The excise value can be adjusted in the inventory value in the MIRO line item or can be adjusted in the unplanned delivery cost under details tab in MIRO (depending on the sales tax/VAT implications).
    Hope it works.

  • AED Posting for Capital Goods

    Hi
For Capital Goods, excise availed will be 50% for this financial year and 50% for next financial year.  Is it applicable for AED/CVD for imported goods also.
    Rgds
    Srini

Businesses are allowed to set off excise duty on purchases of capital goods against excise duty on outputs. However, unlike with raw materials, you can only set off half of the duty in the first year, and the rest in any year after that.
    Prerequisites
In the material master, you have classified the capital goods as such.
Because duty on capital goods is handled using excise transaction type CAPE, you must also have specified that you want this transaction to credit the excise duty to the CENVAT on hold account. You make this setting in Customizing for Logistics u2013 General, by choosing Taxes on Goods Movements ® India ® Account Determination ® Specify Excise Accounts Per Excise Transaction.
You must then have specified which G/L account is the CENVAT on hold account, again in Customizing for Logistics u2013 General, by choosing Taxes on Goods Movements ® India ® Account Determination ® Specify G/L Accounts per Excise Transaction.
    Features
When you post an excise invoice that contains capital goods, the system posts half of the excise duty to your CENVAT account and posts the rest to a G/L account for CENVAT on hold.
In following years, you can use a report to identify the capital goods with excise duty on hold and transfer the duty to the CENVAT account (see Transfer of CENVAT Credit on Capital Goods).
    Activities
When working with excise invoices that include capital goods, note the following:
    Capturing vendor excise invoices
When you create an excise invoice with capital goods, you have to set the material type to A (assets), C (consumables), or T (tools).
    Posting excise invoices
When you come to post the excise invoice, the system posts only half of the excise duty to the CENVAT account. The system does not round the amount off.
Transfer of CENVAT Credit on Capital Goods
You use this report to display a list of the vendor excise invoices where the vendor has levied excise duty but you have not posted it (in full) to your CENVAT account.
This is particularly useful in the case of capital goods, in order to find out how much credit remains from previous years.
    Features
To access the report, from the SAP Easy Access screen, choose Indirect Taxes ® Procurement ® Excise Invoice ® Reports ® Balance Credit for Capital Goods.
    Selection
    On the selection screen, enter:
    Organizational data
Data of the documents that you want
    Output
The system displays a list of excise invoices with excise duty outstanding. It shows you:
The total amounts of the various types of excise duties levied on the excise invoice
How much duty has still to be posted to the CENVAT account
Select the excise invoices that you want and choose Transfer credit. If you want to transfer only a portion of the remaining amount, enter this amount as the amount to be credited.
The system creates an accounting document to post the duty to the CENVAT account and creates an entry in the Part II register.

  • Excise duty mapping in PO

    Dear Experts,
I want to know, how to map the below scenario into sap.
In the purchase order for capital good,  there should be a provision for
taking 50 % of the excise duty in to GL accounts-( Excise duty input)
for taking input credit up to 50 % and Balance 50 % should be taken to
GL account-(Excise duty receivable)  for taking credit the next
    financial year.
    regards,
    Gopi.P

    Hi
    Do the following settings :
    1) In the material master, you have to  classify  the capital goods
    2) Because duty on capital goods is handled using excise transaction type CAPE, you must also have specified that you want this transaction to credit the excise duty to the CENVAT on hold account. You make this setting in Customizing for Logistics u2013 General, by choosing Taxes on Goods Movements ® India ® Account Determination ® Specify Excise Accounts Per Excise Transaction.
    3) You must then have specified which G/L account is the CENVAT on hold account, again in Customizing for Logistics u2013 General, by choosing Taxes on Goods Movements ® India ® Account Determination ® Specify G/L Accounts per Excise Transaction.

  • Import Process without BCD value

    Dear All,
Normally in an Import scenario,7 duties will be there(CVD,ECessCVD,Hig EcessCVD,BCD,EcessBCD,Hig EcessBCD,Spl Addl duty).
We fill the 7 values while doing Customs MIRO and the MIRO number will be given while doing MIGO which adopt the values and posted.
Our Client has faced a problem that,BCD is not there. But ECessBCD and Hig ECessBCD are there which might be calculated from the Assesible vlue too.
But when Customs MIRO (without BCD) is entered, only 6 values(CVD,ECessCVD,Hig EcessCVD,EcessBCD,Hig EcessBCD,Spl Addl duty appear)
When this MIRO number entered and posted in MIGO,the Customs value for the EcessBCD,HigEcssBCD,Spl Addl duty values gets differed.
    How to go with this?
    Regards

    Hi,
During Custom MIRO, you need to enter the Ecess on BCD, Secess on BCD, CVD, Cess on CVD, Secess on CVD, and Additional duty.
After saving the the Custom MIRO, Kindly check once again that all the entries.
Once save the custom MIRO, it cannot change.
During MIGO, you have to enter the commercial inv. No. ( Custom MIRO No.), In MIGO, only CVD, Ecess on CVD, Secess on CVD and Additional duty shows in Excise tab.
But Ecess on BCD and Secess on BCD will automatically add to Material Account.
    Hope the above is clear.

  • Wrong Register Updation

    Hi All,
Currently the excise duty of the consumable materials  are updated in RG23C instead of RG23A.(While doing goods receipt the small POP-up screen is appearing for capturing the excise details ,in that screen the system is fetching RG23c register as default for consumable purchase order ).can anyone give me the solution for sloving  this problem ?
    Regards,
    Renuga.A

    Hi
    Material type                        Register affected
    Assets, tools, consumables   RG 23C
    Raw materials                       RG 23A
    Finished goods                     RG 1
Input excise duty on raw materials, for example, can usually be deducted in full from the output duty, whereas the duty on capital goods can be deducted over two years: 50% in the current year, 50% in the following year

    2) can we maintain these duties to excise registers ?
    3) any other process i.e. mannual maintainance to GL acc?
    Regards,
    Vimlesh

    Thanks,
this was very helful to me,
but still i have some doubts reagarding to it,
    1) we need to develop a user exit for sub-transaction type IP  ?  SAP has given J_1I7_USEREXIT_UPDATE_STYPE user exit but nothing inside the code so do we need to add code ? and what we need to do in that program ..i.e. system how will understand that it is import capturing
    2) what ever different G/L acc is created for ADC that we can assign in SPRO but how to upload intial balances to this acc and is it reflected in J2I9 in abstract in ADC(bal+regular capturing)?

  • Additional Excise duty credit to be taken in current year for capital goods

    Dear All,
I am using SAP 2007 B PL12. My client buys capital goods where BED + Additional Excise Duty is also there. Now the client wants that credit of 50 % of BED should go to next year but credit of AED should be taken fully in this year. How to configure the above scenario in SAP 2007 B PL 12 as i have configured the capital goods on hold % as 50 % in GL A/C Determination. The system automatically passes 50% of all CENVAT type duties on capital goods to the on hold a/c.
    Regards,
    Rahul

    Hi,
I have raised this issue to SAP support but they say that they need to do some more research into this.
They have also suggested passing JE. But the issue with JV is that it show up as a separate line in RG 23C Part II register which is not acceptable to most of the clients. Plus the excise no. changes.

  • While doing J1iex In case of Stock Transfer Duty is Getting Inventorised

    Dear Experts,
In case of stock transfer of capital goods between 2 plants, when we are doing J1IEX (for the receiving plant) and tick the u201Ccalculate excise duties based on ratesu201D, the system copies the credit due amount to inventoried duty.
Due to this the total duty becomes sum of credit due and inventorised duty.
Why is the system copying the credit due amount to the inventorised duty in case of stock transfer only
Edited by: Burzes Batliwalla on Jun 13, 2011 7:17 AM

I am also checking this out with Burzes .Everything is ok with conditions,if we donot click  "calculate excise duty based on rates" . Nothing is inventorised.
But problem starts when we tick    "calculate excise duty based on rates"   and duty gets Invetorised.
    which is
    Recalculate Excise Duty
Recalculates the excise duty on the item.
    Procedure
Select this indicator if you change any of the excise duty rates in the above fields. Then press Enter.
The system then recalculates the excise duty amounts accordingly.
    Why is this happening.
Anyone can send some useful suggestions

  • CENVAT CREDIT 100% TAKEN IN CASE AED ON CAPITAL GOODS INSTEAD OF 50%

    Hi Experts,
This is with reference to the Cenvat Credit taken on Additional Excise Duty Payable on Capital Goods.
Presently in SAP 100% Cenvat Credit has been taken into 26010713 CENVT CAP GOOD (CAD)  but as per law 50% Credit should be taken in the same year in which
Duty has been paid and balance 50% should be taken in next year.
The same treatment has been taken correctly in excise records.
And i want to know only for imported there has been any law change regarding 100% credit should be paid in same year.
    Regards,
    Manjax

Yes, this is std behaviour of the system,as per the law the AED will be allowed to take 100% credit in first finanacial year only.

  • How to capture the excise duty on free material purchasing?

Scenario is like this if we purchase a lot of material then vendor gives free on some qty. then we make a purchase order for free material with tax code zero. Vendor supply that free material with excise duty. Now we do GRN & take part1 entry. How to capture part II entry. This is capital item.

If you are following J1IEX route , then Tick MRP indicator & enter Excise duty values & take Part2.
It is assumed that all other master data like chapter heading etc are set.

  • Difference between Additional Excise duty and Additional Duty on imports

    Dear All,
I want to know the difference between additional excise duty on domestic procurement and additional duty on imported material, mainly in context of the credit availing. How much credit we can avail if we procure a capital material (domestic and imported).
    Regards,
    Ashish

    Dear,
Excise duty is a duty on production or manufacture of goods, It is levied on manufacture of goods and the liability to pay excise duty arises immediately on manufacture or production of goods.
Additional duty is levied as per custom tarff act and is equal to excise duty levied on a LIKE product manufactured or produced in India.
Sometimes, foreign sellers abroad may export to India goods at below the amounts charged by them in their domestic markets in order to capture Indian markets to the detriment of Indian Industry.
