Splitting HTML forms into several files

I have an HTML form that has a lot of text inputs. I want to split this form into several pages using JSTL and Struts tags in the following manner:
main file
<%@taglib uri="http://java.sun.com/jsp/jstl/core" prefix="c" %>
<%@ taglib uri="/WEB-INF/struts-html.tld" prefix="h" %>
<h:form action = ...>
<c:import url=' file1' />
<c:import url=' file2' />
</h:form>
file 1
<h:text name=' ...' />
<h:text name= '...' />
file2
<h:text name=' ...' />
<h:text name= '...' />
The problem here is that the <h:form> is on the "main file" and therefore I get an error in file1 and file2. Is there a way to pass the "prefix=h" variable from the main file to file1 and file2?
Can anyone help find a solution for this problem?
thanks,
sgs.

Instead of
<c:import url=' file1' />
<c:import url=' file2' />
Can you test with ..
<%@ include file="file1.jsp" %>
<%@ include file="file2.jsp" %>
My guess is that it should work since your stuts form tags in the 2 files will be ultimately compiled as one jsp [in the main one].

  • FCP Splits QT movie file into several files... problem and solution.

    Hi All,
    I was having problems exporting a QT movie (Video Only) of a 20 min Reel within a Feature Film I edited. The Database was quite large - the film was 2Hrs and Footage was about 12X.
    FCP would split the QT movie file into several files - only one of which was openable (either in FCP or the QT player). To my surprise, I also found that even though the file opened fine, I would get an error message when trying to copy it or its associated files over to another HD (Tiger would abort, after giving me an error No. and saying that there was an error while copying). The problem was repeatable and specific to this sequence.
    After some testing, I found that copying the clips (Video Only) to another sequence and re-exporting, seemed to solve the problem. My take on this is that too many ( > 12? ) Audio tracks causes problems in FCP when the database is large.
    But I do need these additional tracks. Any work arounds?
    Thanks,
    RD

    First, look in System Settings, and see if you've checked the box to limit file size to 2GB. Uncheck that box. See if that helps.
    Or it could just be a corrupt project causing the problem.

  • How can I split a class into 2 files?

    I converted a C++ program to Java recently and it works fine, but I ran into a problem.
    One file is very large and I need to add more functionality. Unlike with C++ where you can just put new functions in another file, I don't see a way to do it in Java.
    I made another file, and therefore another class, but the compiler complains that it can't call a static function from non-static context. (I did not declare it static so I guess it's assuming it) But I understand why. So I made the new class "extend" the old one so "this" would exist but that doesn't work -- Is it because the new class is a subclass of the original class?
    There must be a way to do this. But I don't see what is likely obvious. HELP! And thanks.

Generally, however, a class that is large enough to split up into separate files is either one class that should be modularized further into separate classes, or it already is modularized and all that code is the result of many inner classes. What some people do is promote those inner classes to top-level members in their own file, and mark them as package-private. Using a package you can basically have two classes that know everything about each other and have full access to each other.
    But personally, and until I see justification otherwise, semantics in Java being unbreakingly tied to a certain file structure and naming is the most bonehead and, frankly, non-Java thing about Java.
    There's probably a pre-processor out there that will let you split a class into multiple files and will combine them into a single source file just-in-time to pass to the compiler.

  • Help... Why did the dvd to ipod converter split one movie into 2 files?

    I have a 80GB Video Ipod and I'm confused on why when I ripped a dvd using the dvd to ipod converter for mac program it split the dvd into 2 files.. Is there a way I can merge the files together so it is 1 file?.. I would apprciate any help or suggestions...
    G3 Ibook.. 15, 40 and 80GB Video Ipods... G4 PowerMac   Mac OS X (10.4.2)

    Go to their support forum and ask-you will get a better answer from people who actually use the program.
    It's not a paid for program is it?
    A totally free program that rips and converts DVD's for Macs can be found here: http://handbrake.m0k.org/
    Why would anyone on a Mac pay for a DVD rip program?

  • Help importing SWF / FLA contact form into FLA file.

    I've been trying to import, embed, or load a contact form into a fla flash website (i have the fla and files) however i cant seem to get it to work.
    The form is separate file, I have the fla source file for it as well.
    I'm using Actionscript 3. I would like to have the form dynamical load into my existing project/page - http://www.photorexit.com/site/contact/contact
    Here is the contact form page - http://www.photorexit.com/site/contact/contact_page.html
    any suggestions?
    -Jason

    The contact_page.fla page is a template contact file I purchased on the net.
    I spent most of the morning going through the files and I cant seem to pin point why the contact_page is trying to load contact.swf from my local computer.
    I assume it has something to do with the "contact_page" ContactPage.as file and the Monitor.as file.
    I have to admit, I'm in over my head...

  • Can  Java be used to save content of HTML form to a file?

    We have an application that saves a pdf file to a location on our webserver. The file displays on the users machine in a browser window. I have created a link in the links bar of the browser window which launches a simple HTML page. This page allows the user to enter a number of fields and click 'SAVE'. This is where I am having the problem. I need the save button to firstly create a csv file on the webserver containing the details input by the user. I then need the pdf file saved to the web server with a new name and in the same location as the csv file. is there anyway to achieve this using Java or can anyone please point me in the right direction?
    Thanks

    <<Click on the SAVE button in an HTML <form> and the browser will perform an HTTP POST of the data to a URL. Make that URL point to a Java servlet and it can take that form data
    <<and write it to the webserver file system in any format you wish, including csv and pdf.
    agree with duffy. You can also use JSP and call a class method to handle whatever data you specify.

  • Split XSLT Output into Multiple Files

    I have an XML-to-File scenario working, but now I need to split my XSLT map output into multiple files based on the data.  I have been reading the Jin Shin blog on message splitting, but don't know that it pertains to my situation.
    XML data getting mapped with XSLT map creates output formatted like this.
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
    <ns1:ColdInvoiceData xmlns:ns1="http://graybar.com/cold/invoice">
    <Header>
      <RecordID>HDR</RecordID>
      <InvoiceNumber>15</InvoiceNumber>
    </Header>
    <Details>
      <RecordID>DTL</RecordID>
      <LineItemNumber>001</LineItemNumber>
      <UnitPrice>1.25</UnitPrice>
    </Details>
    <Details>
      <RecordID>DTL</RecordID>
      <LineItemNumber>002</LineItemNumber>
      <UnitPrice>2.22</UnitPrice>
    </Details>
    <Header>
      <RecordID>HDR</RecordID>
      <InvoiceNumber>16</InvoiceNumber>
    </Header>
    <Details>
      <RecordID>DTL</RecordID>
      <LineItemNumber>001</LineItemNumber>
      <UnitPrice>3.33</UnitPrice>
    </Details>
    </ns1:ColdInvoiceData>
    I currently have this output writing to a file (FTP, File Conversion).  A single file is no issue, but I need to send multiple files for every set of HDR/DTL(s).  I also need to put the invoice number in the filename (which is working fine as a parameter in my single FTP File CC now).
    Can I make this happen with message splitting and maybe a second map (GUI map)?  Do I need to adjust the XSLT output XML format to have an invoice level?  Is there a better way to go?
    Thanks!

    I made a change to the namespace used on the Messages/Message1 nodes (since the system-assigned ns0 was already being used in my xml data) and now I am getting output.
    The problem is that the output matches my input.  As aforementioned, I started with just a one-to-one mapping on every node and field.
    When I change the mapping to try to force multiple ColdInvoiceData nodes, I get the following error (when my source has two Invoice nodes):
    <Trace level="1" type="T">com.sap.aii.utilxi.misc.api.BaseRuntimeException: RuntimeException in Message-Mapping transformation: Cannot produce target element /ns0:Messages/ns0:Message1/ns1:ColdInvoiceData[2]/Invoice. Check xml instance is valid for source xsd and target-field mapping fulfills requirements of target xsd at
    When my source has one invoice node, it works ok.
    Here is a screenshot of my mapping structure.

  • Split SQR output into multiple files And Rename each file.

    Greetings!
    We ran into scenario where we need to split an SQR output (PDF) split into multiple files (each page , each file). More over the out put has to be renamed with EMPLID.
    It is for printing Advices, where we run DDP003 to print all of them, Our requirement needs to have one PDF file for each employee to placed into a shared drive OR to be emailed.
    I was thinking of running the same process in a loop individually, but this is resource intensive. Is there any way we can batch run this SQR process and split into each page (each paychek comes to one page),
    AND
    I need them renamed by SQR as it creates them, Each file would be names as EMPLID.
    This is all in alternative to run process individually by employee , via self service. to not to over laod Process scheduler server.
    Can anyone help me how can we get these thigns done in SQR?
    Thanks in advance.

    You can use the SQR command new-report for each employee which closes the current report output file and opens a new one with the specified file name (e.g. EMPLID).

  • Export splits 1 cell into several

    hi
    I would like to export the results of the query:
    select * from user_views;
    when i run the query, the result looks ok, i.e. each row is separate
    when i export this , the content of the views gets splitted into different rows;
    how can i export so the content of each cell stays in 1 cell?
    is this possible?
    thanks in advance for any tips!
    rdgs

    hi
    thanks for your answer; however this format still splits the cell into many rows;
    however i tried one by one every single format in this export and the following one keeps the data in 1 cell:
    html
    my version: 3.0.0.4
    so my issue is solved;

  • Split Edge document into several folders.

    I need tio upload to Skura Platform my Edge Project, but the requirements of Skura are stricts. Each HTML into his html folder, the same with JS (js folder), etc. In spite I tried to change the roots in right way, the main HTML doesn´t recognize the links, What can I do? Thank you for for support.

    Thanks for reply, this big XML document is generated from Oracle by JDBC, I found OracleXMLQuery class is very useful, there are two methods
    like : setSkipRows(int rows) and setMaxRows(int num), using these two methods I can split the OracleXMLQuery into some small OracleXMLQuery, the use getXMLDOM() to get the corresponding XML documents.

  • Can I break a JSX project into several files?

    I'm developing a large javascript project for InDesign and would like to be able to break it up into separate files and have my main program include them at runtime.

    Hello Bob.
    I've posted an inquiry about a different topic on the InDesign Scripting & SDK forums, but have not gotten a reply.
    I thought I'd ping you to see if you nkow anything.
    When I installed Creative Suite 4, InDesign 6.0 installed a COM typelib for Visual Basic.
    C:\ProgramData\Adobe\InDesign\Version 6.0\en_US\Scripting Support\6.0\Resources for Visual Basic.tlb
    I am able to reference this from VB.NET Visual Studio 2010 and program against the InDesign scritping API like a charm - with full IntelliSense.
    With Creative Suite 5 InDesign 7.0 I am unable to establish this reference from Visual Studio.
    Visual Studio can't find the reference.
    Any ideas?

  • How to split a MP3 file into several files?

    Hi, I have Adobe Audition 3 and I would like to split one big MP3 file (an album) into separata tracks (and save it as separate MP3 files).
    How can I do this the fastest/least tedious way?
    And will the MP3 be preserved or will it encode it again (I don't want that).
    Please help, thank you!

    I have no idea about Adobe Audition 3.
    To split a whole album in FLAC, MP3, WAV, etc formats with CUE or chapter, i recommend you a full guide at: CUE Splitter - Split MP3, FLAC, APE, WAV, DTS, WMA, OGG, etc
    It easy and helpful.

  • I am trying to split a document into multiple files and it won't let me

    I have opened my file in Adoble Acrobat Pro, for which I have a year subscription, and the option to split the document is gray (not applicable).  Why would this not be an option?  This file contains multiple docs that were merged into one for ease while emailing.  Now I need to split them back up.  Shouldn't I be able to do this with Acrobat Pro?

    Hi adminkg&a,
    It sounds like the file may have security applied to prevent alteration. Do you see "Secured" in the document's title bar?
    Best,
    Sara
