Can I break a JSX project into several files?

I'm developing a large javascript project for InDesign and would like to be able to break it up into separate files and have my main program include them at runtime.

Hello Bob.
I've posted an inquiry about a different topic on the InDesign Scripting & SDK forums, but have not gotten a reply.
I thought I'd ping you to see if you nkow anything.
When I installed Creative Suite 4, InDesign 6.0 installed a COM typelib for Visual Basic.
C:\ProgramData\Adobe\InDesign\Version 6.0\en_US\Scripting Support\6.0\Resources for Visual Basic.tlb
I am able to reference this from VB.NET Visual Studio 2010 and program against the InDesign scritping API like a charm - with full IntelliSense.
With Creative Suite 5 InDesign 7.0 I am unable to establish this reference from Visual Studio.
Visual Studio can't find the reference.
Any ideas?

  • Breaking up a project into smaller units for YouTube

    Hi,
    I used FCPX and Compressor to export a 55 minute FCPX movie for YouTube. The resulting 720p file, while looking fantastic, was 4.37 gigabytes and failed to upload to YouTube. Rather than compressing to a smaller, lower resolution movie, I think I'd rather break the movie up into four separate movies and upload those smaller files to YouTube. What I am asking is this: What's the easiest way to break up my project into separate movies, using either FCPX or Compressor?
    Thanks!

    You can set IN and OUT points in the timeline to export just a section of the movie.
    But since you already exported, there is an easier way. Open the exported movie in MPEG Streamclip, set an IN and an OUT point, and do Save As...; repeat with other IN and OUT. This is quick, since it does not recompress the movie.

  • FCP Splits QT movie file into several files... problem and solution.

    Hi All,
    I was having problems exporting a QT movie (Video Only) of a 20 min Reel within a Feature Film I edited. The Database was quite large - the film was 2Hrs and Footage was about 12X.
    FCP would split the QT movie file into several files - only one of which was openable (either in FCP or the QT player). To my surprise, I also found that even though the file opened fine, I would get an error message when trying to copy it or its associated files over to another HD (Tiger would abort, after giving me an error No. and saying that there was an error while copying). The problem was repeatable and specific to this sequence.
    After some testing, I found that copying the clips (Video Only) to another sequence and re-exporting, seemed to solve the problem. My take on this is that too many ( > 12? ) Audio tracks causes problems in FCP when the database is large.
    But I do need these additional tracks. Any work arounds?
    Thanks,
    RD

    First, look in System Settings, and see if you've checked the box to limit file size to 2GB. Uncheck that box. See if that helps.
    Or it could just be a corrupt project causing the problem.

  • When I send an SMS message from my Text Message Forwarding enabled Macbook to an Android, it breaks the message up into several out of order chunks. Is there a solution to this?

    I have a 2012 Macbook Air and an iPhone 5, both with up-to-date software. When I set up Text Message Forwarding, everything went according to plan, until I sent a relatively wordy text to a friend (from my Macbook) to a friend on an Android phone. It chopped the text up into several 2 line fragments, and delivered them in seemingly random order. The fragments were specifically 2 lines, and not 160 characters, which is the "limit" you used to get on old SMS messages. It continues to happen.

    Are you using any emoji, or accented characters? If so, try not to. Also, I recall something about a double space at the very end of the text. Unfortunately, I don't remember if you should use them or avoid them.. Beyond that, there's not much you can do. How the text is delivered is under control of the carrier.

  • I created a master file of one of my projects and re= imported it as a test, can i break down the project again as individual clips and change it around.

    I want to bring back a project that is in my documents saved as a masterfile. I put it there to save space. I just wrked out that files I have imported into events grow massivly so unless i really need them i will keep them outside of fcpx.
    storage and management of media has become an issue and 1tb seems not so massive now.
    if i can bring files and projects in and out of fcp then this will save slace as a short project and event can easilt exceed 100GB
    It seems time consuming to bring back projects into the event browser, is there a more efficient way.
    Where should I be keeping my footage as soon as I bring it out of my video camera, in iphoto?
    Many Thanks,
    Dave Thorne

    Dave,
    Importing files that are already on your computer into FCP does not add very much to file size unless the media are copied to the event – or optimized. Otherwise,  FCP just points to the media in the referenced event – wherever it's located on your system.
    So if you create a new event to revisit the project, you can keep the file size down by choices you make in the import dialogue box Or…just use the original event.
    But you need to have at least one event in your Event Library that FCP is referencing for your new project.
    Don't keep you media in iPhoto. Ideally, it would be kept on a separate media drive in a folder, named according to whatever convention works best for you.

  • How can I build an existed project into eclipse IDE?

    Hello, all,
    I did not use eclipse IDE before. Someone gave me an completed directory which
    was a project (including all classes and source code) built by eclipse IDE. I
    want to rebuild it into eclipse on my computer. But eclipse only has "new" item
    to generate new project, class, etc. How can I rebuild the exist project in
    eclipse IDE?
    I appreciate your help or any suggestion!
    Thanks
    John

    Easiest way:
    Copy the folder into the Eclipse Workspace folder
    Create the "new" project with the same name as that folder.
    Eclipse should detect an existing project with the same name, inform you of this, and proceed from there.

  • Breaking a quicktime movie into several smaller clips?

    Hi,
    I want to edit my wedding movie but Imovie 3 says it is too large. I have it saved as a QT.div (approx 55 minutes) file but how can I edit it into several smaller clips to import to imovie?

    Apple of course wants you to purchase QuickTime Pro to activate the editing features in QuickTime Player.
    But to do it for free, try MPEG Streamclip. http://www.squared5.com/ .div isn't listed among the formats, but the list has an ellipsis at the end, so you never know.
    The list they give on their site is "MPEG, VOB, PS, M2P, MOD, VRO, DAT, MOV, DV, AVI, MP4, TS, M2T, MMV, REC, VID, AVR, M2V, M1V, MPV, AIFF, M1A, MP2, MPA, AC3, ... "

  • Can I blend 2 completed projects into one?

    How can I tie a completed project onto the tail end of another completed project for export to you tube an easy way?
    I know the youtube export function; it's the idea of publishing back to back in one vid.

    I haven't tried this myself within iDvd alone since iDvd is not really a utility whereas Toast is. Not sure if iDvd alone allows for such a feature. My guess is that it does not.
    However, here's what is possible provided one also uses Toast 9 or 10. Simply use the merge feature within Roxio Toast 9 or 10 for two separate Video_TS folders (found within your iDvd) onto a single dvd. Here's how:
    Making a VIDEO_TS Compilation
    You can create a DVD by compiling multiple DVD-Video VIDEO_TS
    folders onto one disc and play it on a set-top DVD player or in a Macintosh
    or Windows computer with a DVD player.
    Some VIDEO_TS folders may be too large to fit on a standard recordable
    4.7 GB DVD. Toast can compress this video to fit on a standard DVD, or if
    your recorder supports dual-layer recordable DVDs, you can create a duallayer
    DVD-Video from this folder.
    This is the best choice if you have multiple VIDEO_TS folders that you
    want to compress on one DVD-Video disc.

  • Splitting HTML forms into several files

    I have an HTML form that has a lot of text inputs. I want to split this form into several pages using JSTL and Struts tags in the following manner:
    main file
    <%@taglib uri="http://java.sun.com/jsp/jstl/core" prefix="c" %>
    <%@ taglib uri="/WEB-INF/struts-html.tld" prefix="h" %>
    <h:form action = ...>
    <c:import url=' file1' />
    <c:import url=' file2' />
    </h:form>
    file 1
    <h:text name=' ...' />
    <h:text name= '...' />
    file2
    <h:text name=' ...' />
    <h:text name= '...' />
    The problem here is that the <h:form> is on the "main file" and therefore I get an error in file1 and file2. Is there a way to pass the "prefix=h" variable from the main file to file1 and file2?
    Can anyone help find a solution for this problem?
    thanks,
    sgs.

    Instead of
    <c:import url=' file1' />
    <c:import url=' file2' />
    Can you test with ..
    <%@ include file="file1.jsp" %>
    <%@ include file="file2.jsp" %>
    My guess is that it should work since your stuts form tags in the 2 files will be ultimately compiled as one jsp [in the main one].

    Maybe installing a hpgl-driver and print to a file.
    Download the hpgl-graphics filter from microsoft (was included until
    Office 95 i think) and import it to the word-document.
    You'll lose the colors this way (as far as i remember).
    Use a postscript printerdriver to print to a file. Convert it to
    something, you can import to your application.
    Use a pdf-printerdriver. But I don't know how you can import graphics
    from pdf (a subset of postscript) to other applications.
    Print to PostScript-File, use ImageMagick's "convert" program to conver

  • Breaking a 1080i project into sections

    Hi all, it's been a while.  Since I switched to Vista 64 bit, the vast majority of my PE7 issues have receded into the background.  However, I came across a couple items I need advice on.  I'm putting together a wedding video from 1920 X 1080i material from my Canon HF100 camera.  The plan is to output the finished project as both a conventional DVD and a Blu-ray disk.
    1.  For PC resource conservation reasons, I have created a slide show and a video sequence as two separate projects and will then combine them into one DVD / Blu-ray output.  However, I'll be danged if I can find an export / share setting that preserves the original quality and resolution of my 1920 X 1080 input footage.  Exporting to DV AVI for example does not allow setting the output to 1920 X 1080 and any of the "share" options seem to be much more compressed.  The only option I could find that was even close was "uncompressed" and a test export of a short clip showed that the actual export of the two projects would probably fill my 1TB drive and then some.  Sorry..... I know this has been covered before but I can't find it.
    2.  If you apply a DVD menu template to the project, how the heck do you remove it if you change your mind?  I had to use UNDO.
    3.  A simple one that eludes me.... how do I set keyframes so I can dynamically change the audio level within a given clip?  I thought it was a right click on the timeline or the cursor but that doesn't work.  I resorted to adding a fade in/out and moving the resulting fade points but there has to be an easier way.
    FWIW, this project intentionally stressed my copy of PE7 and my C2Duo 3GHz PC with 4GB RAM.  For example, the slide show consists of about 500 photos at ORIGINAL (ie., NOT re-sized) resolution (a mix of 8MP and 10MP).  I had absolutely zero problems creating the project, editing it to add some titles and rendering it to a 1920 X 1080 MPEG.  During render, the RAM usage was solid at about 1.8GB.  The video project consists of about 35 minutes of full HD video.  RAM usage never went above 1.85GB and it rendered successfully several times (as I searched for the right output type).  Surprised the heck outa me.
    Oh, and I see the forum is still as slow as ever.  Another reason I was unable to find the answers using SEARCH..... each page refresh took FOREVER   Seems to be a PC speed issue.... this machine is a P4 2.6GHz.  My main (ie., home) machine is a C2Duo and the page refresh time is much better.
    Paul

    Thanks, that is how I analyzed it too.  For a while I thought it might have something to do with the fact that I burned it with the NTSC widescreen preset so I burned another copy using the NTSC 4:3 preset, which played OK.  But then the same DVD player played the original NTSC widescreen version this morning.  I'm not sure what the difference is between the 4:3 preset and the widescreen preset and the help system wasn't..... helpful.  The settings I can see appear to be identical between the two presets.
    But after that little hurdle I started realizing that the video just didn't look as good as I think it can.  The video looked soft and there were very noticeable compression artifacts and occasional scan line issues.  I got to wondering whether my project settings were correct.... it was the only thing I could think of since the render process reported a bitrate in the 6Mb/S range which should be sufficient for SD video.  Interestingly, the photos in the slide show looked terrific.
    I had used the HDV 1920 X 1080i project setting and my video assets were AVCHD from my Canon HF100.  So I did a short test project with the AVCHD full HD 1920 X 1080i setting and the output looked quite a bit better.  No more compression artifacts but it still looked soft.  I re-made the actual project and am rendering it now.  We'll see how good it looks when burned to a DVD.  If it still looks soft, I'm not sure what else to do.

  • Breaking up one project into multiple projects

    I have a question that I hope can be answered (Using Captivate 5.5).
    I have a seemingly large project now (433 slides with no quizzes added at this point) that is broken down as follows:
    There are 9 chapters.  The first is a quick "how to" which has a menu that links to the 8 chapters.  All the chapters are accessed by the "jump to page" link with buttons i created at the top, a home button that links back to the main menu buttons, and each chapter contains 4 sub-chapters.
    When this whole deal started, I was told it would just be a run through start to finish in one day with a quiz at the end, but now I am told they like the individual chapters so much that they want chapters with their own quiz and summary and they want it to be able to be "bookmarked" so that they can work at it in half hour sections over the course of a few days.
    The down side is I'm pretty much done the whole thing as one project file.  I have looked into how to break it up, or how to just have various quizzes (more importantly quiz summary for each chapter that stops the user from proceeding to the next chapter until complete) within one project but its clear that I need to break it up and have 9 .exe files (.exe being the requested format) in the end all linked to one another.  The problem I have is that I have no idea how to go about this.
    Anyone with any ideas for me?  Please?
    Thank you once again!

    Thanks Anjaneai,
    This was pretty much much idea as well and I think it makes the most sense.
    There is really only one page in each module that links back to the main page so it shouldn't take too long to implement.
    The only question I have is with something like this where I will essentially have a breakdown of one "main" exe that links to the 8 other chapters, how do I go about saving these?  Is there something that I need to do (ie file structure or a certain click box during the export)?  Do I just export/publish each of them as their own exe and Captivate is smart enough to recognize this?
    Right now what my vision is of this is that I would publish all 9 exe's into one directory where the main exe is in the root and the other exe's are in their own directories so that when the file is sent, unzipped, it will only show the one exe to click on so it isn't confusing to the end users.
