Yosemite is locking my keyboard! When I start or retrieve a document the mouse will operate and I can highlight a word in Word but the keyboard will not type. I have had this start since the very first opening after updating.

I open a document to edit in Word 2013 (which shows as Word 2008) and try to save the document as a different one. The optical mouse on my MacBook Pro operates normally. Then I make the corrections as try "Save As". The screen opens and I can navigate to the folder and press "Open". I give it a name and the summary page opens to the text lines and I try to give it a new title. The keyboard does not respond and I have to cancel. I have automatic updates on and I get no update messages from Apple of Microsoft.
Anyone else havng same issues? This misspelled word will not correct by using the old method of right clicking and getting suggested corrections. it highlights but will not correct nor can I place the cursor on the exact place in the word (between the V and the n) to insert the missing "i".

Microsoft released Office for Mac 2011 update 14.4.5 for Yosemite compatibility. They are not motivated to do so for Office for Mac 2008, as it is an unsupported, end-of-life product.
Can you work through the process you described on another person's MBP with Office for Mac 2011 update 14.4.5 installed to determine if the problem you encountered is reproducible there?

I have the exact same issue. I also tried resetting my password. I can log in to iTunes on my laptop with the new password, on to my iPhone iTunes, but my Apple TV says it cannot recognize my password. I just did an Apple Tv software update a few days ago.
I am able to log in to Netflix on my Apple TV just fine. I did not have to re-enter my password for that.
Very frustrating. I hope Apple can figure this out soon and post a fix.

I believe Gmail has an option for Two-Step verification that may require a different password for mobile devices than for your computer.

My iPod wont turn on anymore. I have had my iPod since the end of January of 2012, Last night it shut off on me. It keeps trying to reboot itself, but all it does it show the apple symbol, then the screen goes white and reboots again. I need help. :(

I bought my iPod off of amazon just around the end of January of this year (2012). Last night I was playing around on my iPod. Listening to pandora, and editing pictures. I got to a picture and clicked edit, and then my iPod shut off. It rebooted itself and seemed to be running as if nothing had happened. I put my music back on and went back to the picture and tried to edit it again. I clicked the edit button and the ipod shut off again. This time, it kept rebooting. It went to the apple symbol to turn on and about thirty seconds, the time it normally takes to turn on, the whole screen went white and then shut off and tried rebooting again. It kept doing this over and over again. After a while, it did eventually stop, but only to a completely white screen. It was like that all night long because I fell asleep. (gave up on it). It is now the afternoon and after I held the lock button and the home button down the screen when off. I let it sit for about a half an hour, then I tried turning it on again. But it still is doing the same thing. I have no idea what I could have done to make it do this. Unfortunalty, I am not home to connect it to my own iTunes, but regaurdless, it wont even connect to the computer. I did have my ipod plugged in the whole time it was rebooting and shutting off last night. It was connected to my wall jack which normally works fine. But even having it plugged into the computer as it is now, its still doing the same thing. I am dissapointed that I might end up loosing everything that I have on it. I have not been able to sync it to my computer to save all the apps and pictures and music I have stored on it. I really do hope I can get some help or advice!

I am not resetting firefox just to fix orange button. Menu bar disabled still no orange button. Have had this problem since upgrading to 20.0

Firefox orange button has been missing I upgraded to 20.0. I have since installed the next update as well, still no fix on orange button. Research suggested disabling menu toolbar (which is not a solution for me) I tried this, still no orange button. Another recent development is with the all in one sidebar... The only icons showing are "Display you bookmarks," and Google Lite. The buttons are still there, just no identifying information; no icon, no text.
I will not reset firefox, to do this would require more time than I can give. I would switch back to Google Chrome if that is truly my only option. I have been using Firefox for 2 years, switching back would be most undesirable.

Cannot open facebook - have had this problem since yester

Hey - i canot open facebook since yesterday . Sometimes after a while there comes a little window and ask if i want to open the side as pure text . Sometimes i can come in to the side but nothing is working, does not answere when clicking on any button. Now i have deleted history and now it says : The connection to the server was interrupted while the page loaded.

When you connect the iPad to the computer can you see any apps in the apps list at all in iTunes?
Connect the iPad to the computer and launch iTunes.
Click on the iPad name on the left side under devices.
Click on the Apps Tab on the right.
Do you see apps in that apps list? If you do, click on all of the apps that you want to sync.
Click on the Sync Apps Heading.
Click on Apply in the lower right corner of iTunes

i don't want to compromise the integrity of my current OS,(Lion) so please, no work arounds. I tried purchasing Mountain Lion but get the error message listed above, i've waited for 2 weeks hoping the bug would get fixed but it hasn't. Reaching out to the community, see if there's any update on this issue.

Update: i spoke to a very knowledgeable applecare representitive who walked me thrue the process, we were trying to figure out what exactly was preventing Mountain Lion from installing & (after a process of elimination) it turns out you need to be log in as an Admin to download it, we also made sure everything was up-to-date. Downloading Mountain Lion took about 40 minutes (with roadrunner high speed internet, DSL might be a bit slower) once it was downloaded the installation process was very intuititive with just a few clicks and about 35 minutes i had the latest Operating System.

You can remote erase your phone using iCloud from any computer that can connect to the internet. You do have to know your Apple ID password though.

The time limits on the parental controls do not work. Apple does not seem to know how to fix this issue since the problem has been going on since at least leopard.

The time limits in the parental controls do not work. I have several mac systems and they do not work on all of them. Also, I have had this problem since at least snow leopard and it is very frustrating that Apple is unable to fix a simple issue like this. All they have to do is somehow 'hard-wire' the time limits to the system clock but they are not listening. I used the feed-back feature in their support webpage and hopefully everybody else experiencing this issue will too. Thus, if they get a thousand notes on this issue they might listen and finally fix it.

Well, the whole system with those time limits are funky. Sometime this happens, sometime that happens. When the user is on the bed time limits do not work nor do the length of time limits. It is very frustrating as one of the reasons I bought an apple in the first place was those parental controls which did not exist in Windows prior to Windows 7. I do have a Windows 7 machine now and the bed time limits work there. Maybe you have a Windows 7 machine as well and can let them use it.
