Spml 2 toolkit and launch workflow

Hello,
Does anyone know how I can use spml 2 to launch a workflow on IDM? I know this is possible using the spml 1 toolkit, but this functionality seems to be removed from the spml 2 toolkit.

One way to get around this spml2 limitation is to use a proxyAdmin for your spml2 msg. Assign a userform to this proxyadmin that contains a field name=viewOptions.Process with expansion value of your custom wf name.
I have implemented this many times.

Error when launching Workflow Editor

Hi gurus,
I am expriencing an error when i try to launch the Workflow editor from the Workflow definition page (Actions -> Launch Workflow editor). The error is:
Unable to load resource: http://jawe.enhydra.org/twe.jnlp
I have the latest JRE installed on my windows machine, and i am running Internet Explorer 9.

Hi Simion,
Make sure the together editor is installed on your laptop. Try saving the xpdl file from workflow definition to your laptop first and then launch the editor and open it. Also, check out comments from Rob in the message below.

If you have worked on workflows earlier the procedure is very simple. You just need to enter certain parameter values of your application in SWFVISU for the respective task and re-register your system in UWL administration. Thats it! your webdynpro and workflows are integrated. For details on the parameters check the following link,

Toolkit update launcher

This is a philosophy approach to solve a problem. I am developing several applets to help out our manufacturing and engineering staffs. A lot of it is just extracting data from csv files and doing some plotting while other applets automate some production testing with GPIB and Digital IO. I need to release installers for each of the applets as it is now and maintain them.
Inspiration: My son uses a game tool called swiftkit. It is a swiss army knife for a game called Runescape. When swiftkit launces it imediatly goes to a server to make sure it has the latest update and downloads any new releases. From there the user can use many different tools to help in developing game stategy. This way the player is ensured of using the latest up to date applets.
I would like to apply the same paradigm so that rather than maintaining (oh the paperwork) a fist full of programs I only have to manage one through the release process. Is this possible? Am I trying to reinvent the wheel? Can anyone point me in the right direction?
In thinking about this I would only have a updater to install on a new PC. Running the updater would install all the drivers I need (GPIB and DIO) and from there connect to a network to download any .exe files for each of the applets in the toolkit and any supporting data files. This way the updater seldom changes and only the files and launcher need to be maintained. The updater would look at a list of files that need to be downloaded and their target location. Upon completion it will call a launcher to run the applets.
Does this make sense?

Short answer is there is no all in one solution (that I know of) to do this already. But I don't see why you couldn't build it into your VIs.
So the first part you mentioned about updating files, VIs, EXEs, etc for your application seems like it wouldn't be too terrible. You could easily check the version number of the application and check it against a webserver somewhere. Then you can use the TCP VIs to transfer the files back and forth, just as long as you aren't trying to overwrite files that are in use.
Second part would be the updating of drivers which I don't think would be nearly as easy. Especially with the last few Windows Operating systems and all of the security protections they put in place about having applications access system files.
If I were you, I would take a look at the LabVIEW Add-On Dev Center and post on their group discussion page with this question. They work a lot with third parties creating add-ons and if something like this already existed, they'd probably know there.

Launching WorkFlow when are executing ImportManagerBatch

Hello together!
I am trying to use the ImportManagerBatch to load date into repository and apply launching WorkFlow automatically.
My WorkFlow set Trigger Actions = Record Import .
When are executing MDM Import Manager function, I assign my WorkFlow in Dialog window, and Import Manager and WorkFlow works fine.
In the ImportManagerBatch .ini file no options for setting my WorkFlowName.
Does anybody have an idea how to resolve this problem?

This setting is saved in the Import Manager maps. If you use maps saved with a workflow assigned in the Import Manager Batch, it should work fine.

BUPR_BUP does not appears as option in SWEC(bor objects to launch Workflow)

Hi all.
I configured a workflow in SAP CRM 7 to be executed when changing an employee for one BUPA.
The problem I have is trying to add the object to the SWEC to launch it.
I can select BUS1006, BUS1006005...but these objects only become usefull to launch a workflow when you change a general data field (BUT00..). But not BUT050 (employees relactionships for one BUPA).
I found two objects to use for this issue: BUS1006003 (business partner employee relationship), and BUS1006012 (Business PArtner , contact person, comercial employee relationship).
I tryed to include them into the SWEC list, but that´s not posible . SAP gives a warning message "type business object it´s not compatible with BUPA_BUP object". That´s true, I started debbuggin that transaction to understand where the checks where done, and if we take a look at TCDOB table, the correct object to select for BUT050 modifications should be BUPR_BUB.
I founded this object everywhere in internet, but if I look for it to write it at SWEC , this object isn´t available.
If I save it anyway, ignoring SAP warnings, workflow is not launched.
Finally I understand my problem is that I should user the object BUPR_BUB instead the BUPA_BUP for this kind of modifications and acess to BUS1006003, but I don´t have this object to select it a SWEC.
I just have these options:
AENNR
BANK
BUPA_BUP
CRM_ORDER
FACTORYCAL
FEATURE
HOLIDAYCAL
NRINTERVAL
NRKROBJ
RELOBJECTS
SWE_CD_TST
So, how can I launch my workflow to work whith employees for BUPA ? I ´m starting to believe is not posible.

OK, it´s ok, now.
I tryed again and I ignored SAP warnings and the no visivility of this parameter, and I wrote it manually: BURP_BUB, and BUS1006003. Then , If you check possible fields to control conditions, you can see now the BUT50 table. A new sucess.
I configured swetypv with bus1006003, PFTC with this bus1006003 and the workflow task, and it runs.
So, It´s a SAP problem, I guess. It solved if you ignored it and its warnings and write it manually .

NI RT execution trace toolkit and firewall

Hi,
I tried launching the RT execution trace toolkit and been ask to add the NI service locator to the exclusion list of my computer's firewall.
It appears that for LV 2010, the NI service locator is included within the SystemWebserver.exe located here:C:\Program Files\National Instruments\Shared\NI WebServer.
I added the SystemWebserver.exe in the exclusion list of the firewall but i still get the message asking to add the NI service locator to the exclusion list of my computer's firewall.
Any hint?
I'm Using Labview 2010 under Win7.

So you have both the NI System Web Server, and the Real-Time Execution Trace Toolkit listed in the 'Allowed programs and features' section of the Windows Firewall control panel? Are they allowed on all network types?
If you ignore the firewall request, does the Real-Time Execution Trace Toolkit successfully connect to the target? If you turn off the firewall does the Real-Time Execution Trace Toolkit successfully connect at that time? Is your firewall managed by a group administrator?

In particular, I am analyzing the example "Even Angle Reference Signal Processing (Digital Tacho, DAQmx).vi", whose documentation I am reproducing in the following:
DESCRIPTIONS:
This VI demonstrates how to extract even angle reference signals and remove the slow-roll errors. It uses DAQmx VIs to acquire sound or vibration signals and a digital tachometer signal. This VI includes a two-step process: acquire data at low rotational speed to extract even angle reference; use the even angle reference to remove the errors in the vibration signal acquired at normal operation.
INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Run the VI.
2. On the DAQ Configurations tab, specify the sample rate, samples per channel, device and channel configurations, and tachometer channel information.
NOTE: You need to use DSA PXI-447x/PXI-446x and PXI TIO device in a PXI chassis to run this example. The DSA device must be in slot 2 of the PXI chassis.
3. Switch to Extract Even Angle Reference tab. Specify the number of samples to acquire and the # of revs in reference which determines the number of samples in even angle reference. Click Start to take a one-shot data acquisition of the vibration and tachometer signals. After the acquisition, you can see the extracted even angle references in Even Angle Reference.
4. Switch to the Remove Slow-roll Errors tab. Click Start to acquire data continuously and view the compensate results. Click Stop in this tab to stop the acquisition.
ORDER ANALYSIS VIs USED IN THIS EXAMPLE:
1. SVL Scale Voltage to EU.vi
2. OAT Digital Tacho Process.vi
3. OAT Get Even Angle Reference.vi
4. OAT Convert to Even Angle Signal.vi
5. OAT Compensate Even Angle Signal.vi
My question is: How is the synchronization produced at the time of the compensation ? How is it possible to eliminate the errors in a synchronized fashion with respect to the surface of the shaft bearing in mind that I am acquired data at a low rotation speed in order to get the "even angle reference" and then I use it to remove the errors in the vibration signal acquired at normal operation. In this application both operations are made in different acquisitions, therefore the reference of the correction signal is lost. Is it simply compensated without synchronizing ?
Our application is based on FPGA and we need to clarity those aspects before implementing the procedure.

You need to close Exel when before your VI is running. Excel can not have two instances running at the same time.

Application doesn't work after build (database toolkit and report gen toolkit).

I wrote an application using database toolkit and report gen toolkit to retrieve some data from a database, put into a Word doc, save the Word doc and print it. It works fine when I run the vi, but when I build and run it, it does nothing. I have tried all of the settings in Projec Manager that I think might help but it still won't work right. Labview 8.2.1, XP.

Thanks for the help. I finally abondened the Word append table and used the regular report gen append table and got it to work fine. The error was 214682314. That led me to the thread about column numbers must vbe between 1 and 63, but like I said, my coulumn number is 7 so don't know what is going on. Anyway I got the vi to work and do what I want so I guess now the problem is solved (moot).
