SPML request/response logging

During the testing stages of our implementation, we would like to capture the contents of the spml request and response to a file. This will assist in debugging problems without having to ask HR to send what they've captured. Any ideas?

Does anybody have suggestions on how to log SPML request/responses at the server side?
We have multiple SPML clients, some from 3rd party vendors so we cannot control logging on the client side

  • JCO - request response log file

    Hi
    I could not find log files of the Request and Response to ERP (using JCO). Anyone has idea where I could see the log?
    thanks

    I know in workbench of the XML output method - this is not what I am looking for. I have the XML request and response but I would like to see how MII sends this request and response
    From the Netweaver, I did what you suggested but I got an empty page. No logs.
    (show view Expert, display log dev_jrfc.trc)
    The reason I am asking is that I sent in a BAPI  with JCO (BAPI_MATERIAL_GETLIST ) note: at the end of the BAPI name is an empty space. In workbench when I generate sample, the Rquest and response has BAPI_MATERIAL_GETLIST_ .
    In XML Request it is written <BAPI_MATERIAL_GETLIST_> and the response is <BAPI_MATERIAL_GETLIST_--20>. The weird thing is I got the Material list that I required.
    So I would like to see what exacly being sent out  BAPI_MATERIAL_GETLIST_  or  BAPI_MATERIAL_GETLIST   and what actually the repy I got from ERP BAPI_MATERIAL_GETLIST or BAPI_MATERIAL_GETLIST_--20
    it could be a bug in MII 12.1

  • Do I have to configure realm policy in Access Manager for IDM SPML Request

    Hi all,
    I wanted to run a SPML request from my application to the IDM which is presently protected by an AM server. Somehow, I get the following error, while I run a search using SpmlClient:
    org.openspml.util.SpmlException: Unsupported response content type "text/html", must be: "text/xml".
    Do I have to set a policy in Sun Access manager for the realm? Guys, pls help.

    > I believe as long as you have access to the above two you can turn the CA off if you want.
    Enterprise CAs are not intended to be offline. Therefore, you should not turn off them. If these root CAs issue certificates only to subordinate CAs, then you should consider to implement offline Standalone (not Enterprise) Root CAs.
    > I believe the location of the CRL is detailed in the CDP which is detailed on the Certs issued but a given CA, so the client can look in the Cert and see what it states about the CDP and thereby get the list of revoked certs.
    this is correct.
    > to place its CDP at a location other than the  default location in case it overwrites the existing CRL at the default location
    no, CDP locations should be defined in the post-installation script.

    yes, LDAP URL includes CA server's NetBIOS name to differentiate between CAs.

  • Is there a way to attach request/response handlers in BEA Weblogic Workshop similar to Axis?

    Apache Axis allows developers to attach Request/Response handlers to do
    stuff like logging, authorization check etc.
    Something like...
    public class MyHandler extends org.apache.axis.handlers.BasicHandler {
    public void invoke(org.apache.axis.MessageContext msgContext) throws
    AxisFault
    Does BEA Weblogic Workshop has a similar capability?
    Thanks.
    Best Regards
    Hitesh

    Hi Hitesh,
    The logging in Workshop user log4j and is configured in the
    <WL-HOME>/weblogic700/server/lib/workshopLogConfig.xml file.
    To log the SOAP responses, add the following lines in the xml file:
    <category name="knex.SoapJwsReq"> <priority value="debug" /> <appender-ref
    ref="MYLOGFILE" /> </category>
    <category name="knex.SoapJwsResp"> <priority value="debug" /> <appender-ref
    ref="MYLOGFILE" /> </category>
    The MYLOGFILE can be configured by copying from the already defined
    appenders. The file location is relative to the domain directory.
    <appender name="MYLOGFILE" class="org.apache.log4j.RollingFileAppender">
    <param name="File" value="mylog.log" />
    <param name="Append" value="true" />
    <param name="MaxFileSize" value="3000KB" />
    <layout class="org.apache.log4j.PatternLayout">
    <param name="ConversionPattern" value="%d{DATE} %-5p %-15c{1}: %m%n"/>
    </layout>
    </appender>
    As of now, the SOAP request message is not logged, only the responses are
    getting logged. This will be corrected within the next few days. Please also
    note that if you are using the Test View for running the web service, you
    should use the 'Test XML' tab for seeing the SOAP requests/responses. The
    'Test Form' tab uses HTTP GET, and hence you will not see any SOAP messages.
    Do let me know if you have any further queries.

    Hitesh,
    You can modify the SOAP request and response payload by using ECMA

    In the current release, Workshop does not support 'handlers' for SOAP

  • Best way to implement request-response and still reliability

              HI,
              what is the best way to implement a request -response paradigm and still have
              the reliability that message will be 100% processed and give response...do i need
              to create the permanant queues with storage..
              anybody gives suggestions..
              Akhil

    Hi Akhil,
              Temporary destinations can only store non-persistent messages
              as per JMS spec - so they are not useful for reliable for holding
              responses that must survive longer than the life of the
              interested client. For persistence, you will need to use configured
              queues or durable subscriptions. For detailed
              discussion of request/response, I suggest reading the "WebLogic JMS
              Performance Guide" white-paper on dev2dev.bea.com. If you
              have many clients, or expect large message back-logs,
              there can be a performance impact when using selectors...
              FYI: There is a new pub/sub subscriber index enhancement
              that is available in 8.1 and
              in the latest service-packs for 6.1, 7.0.
              "Indexing Topic Subscriber Message Selectors To Optimize Performance"
              http://edocs.bea.com/wls/docs81/jms/implement.html#1294809
              This may be useful.

  • Workbench freezes on call to BAPI_PRODORDCONF_GETLIST Request/Response XML

    I have created a simple transaction in MII 12.0.6 with three JRA actions: Start Session, Function Call, and End Session.  From the configuration dialog of the Function Call action, I confirmed the existance of BAPI_PRODORDCONF_GETLIST via a BAPI search. I attempted to select this BAPI only to have the Workbench freeze up.  This BAPI works flawlessly in SE37. I checked the logs and saw that the following error message was thrown:
    com.sap.mw.jco.jra.JRA$ResourceException: Couldn't execute interaction. Transaction rolledback due to connection interruption...
    I am using the same JRA connection to call BAPIs in other transactions without any issues.
    Has someone ran into a similar issue before that could assist me in resolving this?
    FYI...my objective is to obtain a list of confirmations, including the confirmation number and confirmation counters, from the output of this BAPI which will be inputted into BAPI_PROCORDCONF_GETDETAIL to maintain a count of the yield and scrap already confirmed for that particular operation/phase.
    Thanks,
    Michael Teti

    Michael,
    It was my understanding (via customer confirmation) that the returned Yield and Scrap located in the Phase tables of the BAPI_PROCORD_GET_DETAIL Bapi are the Planned Operation Yield and Scrap for that operation and not the Yield and Scrap already confirmed.  The Help documentation in the BAPI Explorer does not verify this one way or another.
    Also, after numerous attempts of trying to pull down the BAPI_PROCORDCONF_GETLIST Request/Response XML, the configuration dialog actually closed.  It tooke quite a long time to complete.  My guess is that it timed out because when I look at the BAPI structure, there was none.
    I did see the other thread prior to my submission but since that thread was referring to a JCO connection and a timeout wasn't actually confirmed on my end, I decided to creat a new one.
    Thanks,
    Michael Teti

    You created a transacted session on the server, and then never committed the transaction. Since the transaction was not committed before the session was closed, it is automatically rolled back as per the JMS spec. Either call commit on the session or use a non-transacted session (e.g., use session-creation paramters of "false, Session.AUTO_ACKNOWLEDGE").

    what does these mean?? Does this have any effect on replication?? thank you ...

    These messages indicate a loss of connectivity between the replication agents. This could be due to one some kind of failure (e.g. network issue). If the messages are infrequent and replication is otherwise working okay they are not a big cause for concern though if I were you I would check the network etc. for anything abnormal.

  • Client Request/Response Context

    I'm new to Weblogic Integration and have a question regarding client response action.
    I've seen an example of a quick workflow where the webpage calls the process
    and gets a response back. In essence the workflow is synchronous.
    Now I want to include a long running process, using Worklists and involving many
    different actors. During the worklist task acceptance I want to get some feedback
    from the user. My questions is what context does the Client Request/Response
    execute in. The example in the docs shows the worklist application. Is this
    absolutely required? How about a client response to a portlet.
    Thanks,
    noah

    One of the Certification mandates logging the remote client IP AND PORT for each log-event.
    I cannot pass these from GUI client because the user may
    be on a private network. This calls for capturing the IP and PORT at GUI server end.
    Capturing remote IP is simple as SOAP library exposes the request object from which the IP can be obtained.
    The dificult part is to capture port. I addressed this problem by introducing a
    new Tomcat Service Engine, CSMServiceEngine. This engine has access to the underneath socket using which
    i obtain the client port and pass it across to SOAP layer as a x-csm-client-port HTTP theader.
    I have a custom SOAP provider, CSMSoapSPI, which obtains the port using the above x-header and the
    client IP from its request object. THese are done only for 'login' task and hence i published a new
    SOAP service: LoginCommand.
    But bcoz of upgradation of tomcat from 4.0 to 5.0.28 the invoke method in the StandardEngine(which was initially extended by class i posted) is made final with JDK 1.5 and i can no longer use the StandardEngine. Hence i tried with the Valve class.But with no luck.
    Hope this answers ur question

  • BlazeDS RPC request-response - Require ability to push server-response asynchronously

    Hi BlazeDS developers,
    I understand that BlazeDS has RPC req-response async client and server mechanism (whats the big deal html UI also has been aync?). It also has publish subcribe pattern with ability to have server side push to client.
    My questions is if below ability present in BlazeDS in request-response RPC?? (Do not want to use pub-sub messaging.):
    Asynchronous mechanism for a response "at server side" (not between client and server) i.e.
    1. a request from flex client using RemoteObject on a POJO at server,
    2. POJO at server processes the request asynchrnously, i.e. spawns a thread, and does some business logic calculation.
    3. Has the response ready after few seconds.
    4. prepares the response and pushes to client
    Server business logic does not have to block client POJO object function call made from RemoteObject RPC from client. (consider RemoteObject use case)
    Thanks in advance for your comments/answers
    Nilesh

    Hi Nilesh,
    What you describe is not currently possible in BlazeDS with request/response RPC requests. While handling of remote object requests is async in the client code, it's not async between the client and the server.
    A bug has been logged to get this functionality added and it is currently targeted for inclusion in the next release of BlazeDS.
    Here is the link to the bug if you want to watch its progress.
    https://bugs.adobe.com/jira/browse/BLZ-184
    Hope that helps.

  • RMAN Restore Error - media recovery requesting unknown log: thread 1 seq 7

    Im using RMAN to copy a database to another server. The new server is IDENTICAL to the old one. By identical I mean it has the same sever name, ip address, operating system, Oracle version and directory structure.
    The new server already has the instance created, (same name as the old server instance, paths etc)
    The backup files have been manually restored to the new server, same locations as they were on the old one. ( RMAN did an automatic controlfile backup and also the archivelogs on the old server ).
    Ive restored the control file on the new server from the RMAN backup pieces.
    Ive catalogued the RMAN backup pieces on the new server.
    I know the last sequence available in the archivelogs backup by running on the new server :

    So far its all going swimmingly well.
    Now I want to restore the datafiles and recover. So I ran :
    RMAN run { restore database; recover database; alter database open resetlogs; }
    This gave me the output below which goes great but I get a final error, I think the error is because its looking for an archive log thats not in the backup set, but it should be. However, I think SCN 560851 is for a log that hadnt been created yet on the old server when the backup was ran ?
    How do I address resolving the error ? Its worth pointing out log, "archive log filename=C:\ORACLE\PRODUCT\10.2.0\FLASH_RECOVERY_AREA\SAT\ARCHIVELOG
    \2011_05_11\O1_MF_1_6_6WOK1X4W_.ARC recid=10 stamp=750881741" isnt on the old server either which is why its not in the backup set.
    I can do a alter database open reset logs but Id prefer to know why its failing.
    Any help would be much appreciated.

    You need to do incomplete recovery i.e. to ask RMAN to restore/recover to some specific point in time. This is usually done with some UNTIL clause or SET UNTIL statement. Example in your case:
    SET UNTIL SEQUENCE 7;See http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B19306_01/backup.102/b14194/rcmsynta065.htm#RCMRF160.

  • Sender adapter request response bean not working for calling a webservice

    Hi All,
    In PI 7.31, My scenario :  SOAP sender Asynch-> PI -> HTTP Receiver Sync ->take response to call another webservice  (SOAP)
    I have configured request response bean and response one way bean in the sender adapter to make this work.
    Attached the screenshot of the module config in  the sender soap adapter. The final response from HTTP has to be used to call another webservice (not sender webservice)
    This giving an error "couldn't retrieve binding values for sender to receiver etc etc ----------"
    Has anyone configured response one way bean to call a webservice to submit? If so, please share the configuration details. And let me know if I am doing anything wrong
    thx
    mike

    Hi Michael,
    I think the adapter type is for the receiver channel looking at the documentation SAP Library - SAP Exchange Infrastructure
    Have you checked your receiver channel doesn't belong to a party?
    I havent tried this bridge with the http_aae but looks to be problematic according with Michal comment here http://scn.sap.com/community/pi-and-soa-middleware/blog/2014/01/28/generic-pi-async-sync-bridge-configuration-for-any-adapters#comment-454463

  • Using Request Response Bean Module in FILE Adapter

    Hi Experts,
    Can we use Request Response Bean Module in FILE Adapter in reverse way. That is can we configure thses adapter modules in Reciever file channel and call a sender file channel in it?
    My case is RFC to File synchronous case? How do we do this?
    Thanks & Regards,

    The above is not possible....Bean works only for Sender channel and not for Receiver.....requirement not possible using even a BPM as FILE does not support SYNC communication in receiver end......max you can do is split the scenario into SYNC-ASYNC bridge.

  • ESB Console turns Request/Response message into One Way message

    Hi folks,
    have come across a strange situation and wondered if anyone else had come across this. Maybe it's fixed as part of a patch set.
    I'm running SOA Suite 10.1.3.1.0 on Windows.
    After I've created and deployed a Request/Response service (either RS or SOAP Invocation Service) if I go to the ESB Console and click on "Apply" in say the Definition tab, my service turns into a One Way service.
    This then causes null pointer exceptions when I run my process, as you might expect.
    If I redeploy from JDev and leave the "Apply" button alone I'm back in business.
    Is this something that anyone else has had a problem with?

    Hi.
    I would recommend you to install version 10.1.3.3 of SOA Suite
    http://download.oracle.com/otn/nt/ias/10133/ias_windows_x86_101330.zip
    http://download.oracle.com/otn/linux/ias/10133/ias_linux_x86_101330.zip
    Also, use the JDev 10.1.3.3
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/products/jdev/htdocs/soft10133.html
    They are supposed to be much more stable.
    After using the new release, let us know if you still run into this problem.

  • How to implement request/response domain in JMS

    hi friends,
    I need help regarding implementing request/response domain
    in jms.please help me.

    See the TopicRequestor and QueueRequestor helper classes in the JMS API.
    FWIW there's a POJO based request/response implementation using JMS here...
    http://lingo.codehaus.org
    you might find the source code useful as it does efficient request/response in a highly concurrent way using JMS under the covers.
