  • Spool file error - Buffer Overflow

    I've a sql script that is running from a.sql file. The script fetches almost 9 million data as a result of the query. Main problem is related to spool file generation. It is saying buffer overflow. But, when i write that query from sql prompts it is running within 2 mins and completes the task within 15 mins.
    I've written -
    set serveroutput on size ######
    But, still it is not working. Total application is freeze whenever i want to run it. Tell me any suggestion if u have.
    Satyaki.

    i guess what you are more concerned with is the output produced by your query (the spool file).
    you need not to see what is displayed on the screen all you need is open up the spool file to
    check for those data in there.
    to suppress the output from the screen and still generates spool file. use the SET TERMOUT option.
    e.g.
    -- code for a producing a sample spool file
    spool r:\sample_spool.txt;
    select * from emp;
    spool off;
    at the SQL*Plus command line:

  • Display error messages in spool file

    I am running the below code (ssn_run.sql) using sqlplus 10.2.0.1.0 on my windows XP professional client PC.
    The database is a Oracle Database 10g Enterprise Edition Release 10.2.0.3.0 - 64bit running on Solaris
    There are 3 insert statements and 3 update statements. I have mentioned 'show sqlcode' after each of these
    dml statements. Hence currently, I look at the spool file, analyze before I confirm that every sqlcode is a 0.
    Now, is there a way to alter this code so that it can show if any of the sqlcode is not 0(if there is a problem) somewhere
    at the end of the spool file ? Or even if I am able to just indicate if there is any ORA- error anywhere in the code and can indicate this somewhere at the end of the spool file, that is fine as well.

    QUESTION:
    As in the code above, I am inputting a value while running the script. And I am spooling all of it to a spool file. I also get the old and new values , like
    old 7: client_54.PERSON_OLD WHERE OLD_SSN = '&&input_ssn'))
    new 7: client_54.PERSON_OLD WHERE OLD_SSN = '123456774'))
    old 11: WHERE PERSONID IN(SELECT PERSONID FROM PERSON_OLD WHERE OLD_SSN = '&&input_ss
    new 11: WHERE PERSONID IN(SELECT PERSONID FROM PERSON_OLD WHERE OLD_SSN = '123456774'
    Is there a way I can get rid of these in the spool file?

  • Javax.mail.MessagingException: 451 Error while writing spool file??

    Hi all friends,
    Can any one plz tell me why Iam getting below error when Iam trying to send mail with attachment.Iam using Java Mail API.
    javax.mail.MessagingException: 451 Error while writing spool file
    Plz tell me what are the reasons behind it.
    Regards
    Bikash

    The problem here is that the SMTP server was unable to write its spool file.
    The error is probably on the OS side of things and has nothing to do with email except that the lack of the system resource is causing email to fail.
    Have the server admin take a look at his error log to find out why the the user that smtp is running as could not write the file.

  • Error SP2-0333: Illegal Spool File Name: (bad character: ' ')

    Below is my spool file logic just to test outputting to a spool file with a date in the spool file. The date part works fine. I can see the date coming out in the error message. It doesn't like the spaces, but I am not in control of the folder names. Any ideas? I have tried putting single and double quotes around it to no avail. I also tried using the concatenation operator || to separate the path from the filename and that didn't work, either.

  • How to get the number of rows written to the header of the spool file.

    Hi
    I need to create a header line for the spool file .
    the header line should include fixed length values .
    The header should include the number of records found in the table with a maximum begin date (begin_date is the column of the table)
    To get the header in the spool file , i wrote a select query has :-
    --SPOOL 'C:\Documents and Settings\abc\Desktop\output.TXT'
    select 'W'||to_char(sysdate,'MM/DD/YYYYMi:HH:SS')||lpad(max(rownum),9,'000000000') ||'R'||max(to_char(school_from_date,'MM/DD/YYYY')) ||
    rpad(' ',76,' ')
    from dad.school
    group by sysdate;
    SPOOL OFF
    which gets me all the rows in the table , but i only want the rows with the latest school_begin_date .
    how can i achieve that ...
    I know that a subquery should be written in the from clause to get the number of rows found with a maximum school_begin_date.
    select 'W'||to_char(sysdate,'MM/DD/YYYYMi:HH:SS')||lpad(max(rownum),9,'000000000') ||'R'||max(to_char(school_from_date,'MM/DD/YYYY')) ||
    rpad(' ',76,' ')
    from dad.school where
    select rownum from dad.school
    where school_begin_date = max(school_begin_date) ;
    the error i get is
    ORA-00934: group function is not allowed here
    I NEED HELP ..IN GETTING THE ROWNUM JUST FOR THE LATEST BEGIN_DATE ?
    PLS HELP ME IN WRITING THE QUERY .
    THANKS IN ADVANCE .

    Try this:
    select 'W'||to_char(sysdate,'MM/DD/YYYYMi:HH:SS')||lpad(max(rownum),9,'000000000')||'R'||max(to_char(school_from_date,'MM/DD/YYYY')) || rpad(' ',76,' ')
      from dad.school
    where school_begin_date = (select max(school_begin_date)

  • Print spooler log error ID 808 [Internet Explorer 11 + MS Office 2003 x86 on Win7 sp1 x64 ONLY!]

    howdy all,
    Could you please help me to resovle the very much odd issue of HP Priner driver on Win7sp1x64 as below.
    1.HP Deskjet 970Cse printer connected thru usb to a router and installed to all LAN PCs  thru a standard tcp/ip ports works well (i.e. printing anyting w/o any problem) on 3 PCs - 2 of 3 with win7sp1x64; and 1 of 3 - win7sp1x86. All 3 with
    IE11[11.0.9600.17041] recently(!) updated from IE8.
    2. However BOTH (that is 2 of 3) above PCs of win7sp1x64 return errors to admin log every time when printing any web page from IE11 and/or docs from Office as below:
    Error in short:
    The print spooler failed to load a plug-in module C:\Windows\system32\spool\DRIVERS\x64\3\UNIDRVUI.DLL, error code 0xc1. See the event user data for context information.
    This error in log occurs only if printing from IE11 and/or MS Office. None of other printing jobs are affected including a printing from Acrobat, ACDSee, Google Chrome and Opera. The printing of Test Page by printer
    itself not affected as well!!!
    3. win7sp1x86 PC prints everything w/o any errors in log!
    4. Printer uninstall incl. cleaning of Print Server config + clean install doesn't work.

    7. I blame IE11 when there was no such error before its update from IE8.
    8. This is a re-repost from here "http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/ie/forum/ie11-windows_7/print-spooler-log-error-id-808-internet-explorer/f52ff25c-4702-4ce3-827e-e1e9a5d324cf" and here "http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/windows/en-US/7b24d6b9-171a-4703-82f9-81cb4732e02f/print-spooler-log-error-id-808-internet-explorer-11-ms-office-20032007-x86-on-win7-sp1-x64?forum=w7itproappcompat"
    w/o any good answer!
    That's it. Any questions are welcome.
    Thank you.
    PS: I just wanna confirm that this odd error occurs only when printing from IE11 and MS Office 2003 on Win7sp1x64. MS Office 2007 is not affected!

    OK, Z COMPLETE SOLUTION FOUND!
    Although z cause of this odd issue is yet unclear. However it seems to be z HP driver problem after all.
    Actually my printer is not HP Deskjet 970Cse but HP Photosmart 1115 Series. Z very nice working dinosaur, which was officially run out by HP Support from WinXPx86 times. Though it was always working
    just nice with either HP Deskjet (DJ) 970Cse Win7driver (better) or HP Photosmart (PS) 7200 Series one (worse – when it works no so good with TCP/IP printer installation).
    Well… when I got into z recent problem with DJ970cse driver I happened to check if printer works with z PS7200 one. Oops, same not good as before but NO LOG ERROR! A bit of study gave me understanding
    that both drivers are using z absolutely same core files but PS7200 driver uses its own PCL Language Monitor as well as z Print Processor (not a standard winprint of Windows).
    And while I unfortunately got no any reasonable ideas on how to solve this issue from IT Pros and others MS MVP during a few days after my posting here and there, except those very smart ones
    like ‘uninstall, reboot and install again’, I had no option other than to find solution by myself.
    I’ve downloaded a bunch of HP printer models Win7x64 driver pack from MS Update Catalog "http://catalog.update.microsoft.com/v7/site/Search.aspx?q=hp%20deskjet%20970cse" (x86 also available.
    This driver pack is for maybe over 400 HP printer models incl. both DJ970Cse & PS7200) and modded its genuine INF file for HardwareID of my PS1115 as HPPHOTOSMART_11150FFF with use of 970Cse driver but also some DLLs and PCL Language Monitor
    of PS7200 one.
    This modded by me INF file is attached as a Code Block. Pls be advised that all originally integrated printer devices strings except DJ970cse & PS7200 ones were deleted for convenience and
    z 1 new combined string for PS1115 added. Then everybody interested can compare & track z changes done. This modded driver is now installed and working w/o any glitch on 2 of my Win7sp1x64 PCs. Although I’ve maybe spent totally a day or
    so on all that fuss of posting about & studying around.
    My final conclusion is z very much common one
     – f**k HP… and/or MS as well, when it’s yet unknown why this error occurred after z years of no problem use of DJ970Cse driver but after Win7sp1 updating to IE11 and/or KB2775511 and only with x64 version
    of OS.
    bye for now.
    PS: btw, why I’m not able to attach any small text file or post a link to MS site here???!!!
    END
    UPDATE 2014-06-12-Thu: there is one more small glitch of printing to paper from IE11 only found! now it's about a Print Processor settings...
    pls set not any hp oem print processor but z standard windows one aka 'winprint' to be used for printing in Printer properties > Advanced sub-menu, otherwise a printout is incorrect in part of a printed page header &
    footer. a page print preview is ok but z printed header is incomplete = cut at right side, and no footer printed at all.
    pls be advised that above note is valid for both modded & genuine driver installed and for both x86 & x64 win7...

  • How to store SP2-0310: unable to open file errors in log file

    We are using oracle 10g on Linux platform.
    When we send scripts to the clients, then we also send a control file that executes all the sql files e.g.
    control.sql
    SPOOL test.log
    SELECT 'Start of Control File at:'||systimestamp from dual;
    SPOOL OFF
    @./dbscripts/00_insert_scripts.sql
    SPOOL test.log APPEND
    SELECT 'End of Control File at:'||systimestamp from dual;
    SPOOL OFFThe scripts are executed from SqlPlusW only by typing @control.sql
    The problem is that when SP2-0310: unable to open file error comes, it appears on the screen only. It does not go in the test.log file. Is there any way to store these errors in a file from SQLPlusW.
    Thanks.

    try mentioning full path....
    try
    @<fully qualified path>/00_insert_scripts.sql
    also check if the file has necessary permission
    ls -l <fully qualified path>/00_insert_scripts.sql

  • SFTP MGET of large files fails - connection closed - problem with spool file

    I have a new SFTP job to get files from an FTP Server.  The files are large (80mg, 150mg).  I can get smaller files from the ftp site with no issue, but when attempting the larger files the job completes abnormally after 2 min 1 sec. each time.  I can see the file is created on our local file system with 0 bytes, then when the FTP job fails, the 0 byte file is deleted.
    Is there a limit to how large an ftp file can be in Tidal?  How long an ftp job can run?
    The error in the job audit is Problem with spool file for job XXXX_SFTPGet and an exit code of 127 (whatever that is).
    In the log, the error is that the connection was closed.  I have checked with the ftp host and their logs show that we are disconnecting unexpectedly also.
    Below is an excerpt from the log

    I believe there is a limitation on FTP and what you are seeing is a timeout built into the 3rd party application that tidal uses (I feel like it was hardcoded and it would be a big deal to change but this was before Cisco purchased tidal)  there may have been a tagent.ini setting that tweaks that but I can't find any details.
    We wound up purchasing our own FTP software (ipswitch MOVEit Central & DMZ) because we also had the need to host as well as Get/Put to other FTP sites. It now does all our FTP and internal file delivery activity (we use it's api and call from tidal if we need to trigger inside a workflow)

  • Spool file question

    I need to spool a selected result to a file which should be in my local computer, say in C:\TEMP\, the spool file name is going to assigned to a variable, so that whenever the procedure run, the file can have different filename, such as FJune1, FJune2, ...
    How can I achieve it?
    Thanks in advance.

    I tried but it always asks:
    Enter value for tdate: c:\temp\tryspo
    old 1: --spool &tdate..lst
    new 1: --spool c:\temp\tryspool.lst
    Enter value for tdate: 3
    old 4: spool &tdate..lst
    new 4: spool 3.lst
    column today new_value tdate
    ERROR at line 2:
    ORA-00900: invalid SQL statement
    Actually, I need to spool while running a stored procedure/function automatically.
    What should I do?
    Thanks

  • Spool file creating

    hi i am running a unix loop and in that creating a sql statement. now i want to spool the result to a file . but the problem is the spool file should have time as the name. loop runs after every 2 mins.
    while [ true ];
    do
    sudo su - BATPBL<<!
    sqlplus hr/hr<<!
    spool /ankur/ank_XXXX #XXXX should be the time

    You could implement in your spool project something like this :

    SQL> spool datefile.txt$DATE
    SQL> select me from you;

  • Spool file full

    Could anybody shed any light on this "Spool file full" information?

  • SPOOL file path

    How/Where to check the path for SPOOL File in SQL.
    I am getting the following error while spooling:
    SP2-0606: Cannot create SPOOL file "A.LST"
    Pls suggest.

    If you SPOOL without specifying a full path it will create the file in the current directory that you started SQL*Plus from.
    So if I was in:
    C:\Documents and Settings\joe.user\
    And logged into SQL*Plus and typed SPOOL it would create a file in the directory specified above.
    While you are in SQL*Plus you can check the current working directory by doing the following
    Windows: SQL> host cdLinux: SQL> !pwdHTH.

  • HP4501e "print spooler off" error after installing printer update

    Motorola Android OS, getting "print spooler off" error after installing printer update... have rebooted both printer and phone to no avail... any help ideas?

    Loralee,
    ??  I am sorry the computer is not working.  I don't work for HP and cannot comment on lawsuits or other calamities.
    If the notebook worked prior to an update -- and this is an entirely different can of worms and problems -- and you think that there is any chance the notebook is just in some sort of "tangled" state and not completely hosed for some reason, you can try the following non-lethal device reset:
    Create a Restore Point:   Create a Restore Point – Win7 OR  Create a restore point Win8
    If you are using a Notebook:
    Close all your programs and shut down the computer
    Disconnect everything (little Unifier for the keyboard / external mouse can stay)
    Perform the Hard Reset for your notebook model
    Boot the computer and log in
    Reminder:  Hard Reset is just a device Reset.  The procedure does not wipe out your files nor does it destroy your Windows setup in any way.  This type of reset "clears the cobwebs". Depending on the root cause of the problem, this procedure can fix a variety of computer glitches.
    This does not fix severe Operating System errors -- it is just a device reset.  It can fix minor problems that updates sometimes cause.
