Spool Output getting truncated

Hi,
I am using ALV grid display in a report.When we schedule the report in background and check the spool,The output is getting truncated (For eg Customer number is getting truncated ).I have checked the print parameters of background job,The format is passed as 'X_PAPER'.
Pls suggest.

Hi Rakesh,
In SM36 during the Job creation Click on Print Specifications , Properties, Double click on Format value and change it to the required width.
Use transaction SPAD to create width if it isn't available.

Spool Is getting truncated when sent as email attachment

Hi All,
We are sending the spool lists for overnight jobs as emails (outlook) to certain users. The problem we are facing is that when the spool is big then not all the pages are getting transferred in the attachment. The list gets truncated.
Has anyone faced a similar problem and if there is a way around this. Maybe there is some parameter setting in SAP which has to be adjusted.

SPOOL data gets truncated when bckground job output sent to spool recepient

Hi All,
I am facing a strange problem.
I have a background job scheduled. Have specified a distribution list as the spool recipients.
Background jobs output is sent to the recipients as attachment but data is not complete.
When I check the spool request for that background job it contains 80 pages but the attachment in the recipients inbox contains just 17 pages.
SP01/SP02 will display settings to display the range of pages but the emaill attachment doest show.
Can anyone please help me with this?
We are on ECC 6.0 (Windows2003/MSSQL2005 SP3)

Hi,
When the spool content is sent immediately after the background job its size is 14KB.
I tested by sending spool content via mail using transaction SP01. I mean after the jobs is completed, I go to SP01 and send the SPOOL content manually. This time recipients receive the correct content of 80 pages and size of the document this time is 73KB.

How to suppress line #s fr. rows in SPOOL output file when I use GET

I'm having difficulty suppressing line #s which show up in my SPOOL output. That is, when I run the following
SPOOL MySpoolOutputFile.txt
GET SpoolHeader.txt LIST
where MySpoolOutputFile is my spool output destination and SpoolHeader is what I'm getting and displaying in the console.
I get a result like the following:
1 This is my first row
2 This is my second row
3 This is my third row
4 This is my fourth row
5 This is my fifth row
I have my environmental variables set to the following:
SET FEEDBACK OFF
SET TRIMSPOOL ON
SET LINESIZE 100
SET SQLNUMBER OFF
SET SQLPROMPT ''
I'd like to suppress the line numbers but can't find any other SQL*PLUS environment variable that seems to let me do this....

Spool header is getting truncated in SP01 after ECC6.0 upgrade

Hi Experts,
We have recently upgraded our SAP System from 4.6C version to ECC6.0. We are facing some problem with Spool display.
Issue: Column header is truncated in spool list display through SP01 (Applied necessary notes)/ ZSP01(Created based on note 186603). The column header is not getting truncated while executing report in online mode.
Can anybody else got the problem or have any suggestions to rectify this problem?

I have seen this problem and the solution was to follow the note 1226758:
Do not forget Call SPAD and choose Settings -> Spool System -> Other. Select
'SP01: Number of Columns for List Display from Format'.

Line size in Spool output

in spool, wen i get the out put only upto line 255 is getting printed.Rest are getting truncated.How can I change the line size.Can it be done through the programmimg.In report if we define line size then it is valid only for the foreground job and not reflected in the back ground report.Please suggest the needful.

When u r select print button for printing a report.In output device give the output Device and then click on properties button below .
It will take u to Spool request attributes.
Now double click on format and press F4 on format
Differt formats are available now select the format which gives Maximum coloums for printing.Then u can get the Maxi
Fields at output.

Issue in spool output

Hi all,
I have one issue in the spool output.
In the spool output I see some strange results. At the first column the values COL1N, COL1H, COL0N, COL0H, COL2N .... were getting displayed at the first column in every row. Any one of the above values will be getting displayed in each row.
After that some contents are getting displayed out of which some values got truncated in production.
The sample out put is getting displayed like below.
| COL1H | heading1 | heading2 |......
| COL2N | row1 value1| row1 value 2| ....................
This is the sample output where the other values (other than col1n, col1h) are coming from the program from internal table.
After executing the similar job in production after three days it went fine.
Kindly let me know what is the issue why did it happen so two days before like that.

Mail - PDF Getting Truncated

My requirement is to convert Spool to PDF then send as mail attachment.
I am using function module SO_DOCUMENT_SEND_API1 to send the email. Email functionality is working fine.. But I have issues in the PDFu2026
My spool output is more than 255 characters hence PDF output is getting truncatedu2026

I doubt if the spool in longer than 255 characters it will be truncated at first place.
Even if you set the maximum LINE-SIZE your spool cannot display more than 255. May be i am wrong.

ALV Header getting truncated in excel

I am using the GRid Layout. but when i am downloading the output in the Excel sheet, the headers are getting truncated.
I have tried increasing the width in the FIELDCAT and also removing the coulmn-optimze option in the layout also. but still after trying the headers are getitng truncated.
Any pointers how can i download without the headers getting truncated.

Spool output not appearing on one page

Hello Experts,
When program runs in foreground, I am getting correct output i.e. ALV blocks are displayed on one page only.
But when running same program in background, I got output in spool and when looked at spool output that time I realized that the ALV blocks are getting printed on new page.
So instead of displaying 4 pages it is displaying 8 pages in spool.
I ran the same report on quality in FOreground as well as background and output appears to be correct.
But not sure why it is giving distorted (printed on new pages) in SPOOL output.

Check the Layout which you are passing which scheduling the job. It seems to be a different layout as compared to other system & hence the issue.

Problem in download to application server- file column is getting truncated

We have a program for which there are 2 options a list output or file to be placed on the application server. The TXT file is of length 525 characters.
My problem is while the list output is generated the whole list is getting outputted, but when we take a output on the application server last 10 columns are getting truncated.
Can somebody give a help on this.

Pass the values: as download file and destination in the respective fields.
File to be downloaded in :(Pass the exact file name)

The code starting from WAIT UP TO 10 SECONDS. - not only does it look attrocious, is error prone (if no free process for executing batch job is available for 10 seconds, or if the job runs for more than 10 seconds, what will happen...?), but seems utterly unnecessary... Is there any reason immediate spool output can not be handled by simply setting PRINT_PARAMETERS-PRIMM = 'X'?

Ok, i just read Document in spool but not printed... Do not use an output device relying on frontend access methods to do printing from background processing. Frontend is not available during background processing, period. To my knowledge there is no easy, clean solution to this problem other than defining and assigning, per user, output devices not relying on frontend printing. What if the dialog user has logged off by the time batch job finishes..? May the spool remain unprinted?
Has the SAP Basis refused to define output devices (I have hard time believing this...)? Well, tell them one time to stop being silly and if they do not cooperate, tell the owner of the requirement that it can not be implemented due to uncooperative Basis then... and that the users will have to keep going to SP01 and manualy start the output!

Leading zeros getting truncated in plsql report

Hi,
I've a requirement of a plsql report with an excel output. When i see the output in excel, the leading zeros get truncated. Is there any suggestion for this, other than enclosing within ' '. Because this particular solution prints the output along with quotes which is not acceptable. Please help me with this.

Just prefix with =" and " at teh end of column. like
select '="' || bank_account_no || '"' from employee_bank_list
but if you are using same report for pdf also then use decode in pre/postfix.
