Spreadsheet data in Table of Contents

I am working on a Pages document (I have both a Pages '09 and Pages 5 version) and am having a difficult time with creating my TOC.  I have multiple tables in the document and would like the Table Name to show up in the TOC, the catch is that I want name to be part of the spreadsheet so that if I or someone else wanted to move the table within the document the title would essentially be a part of the object as it moved.  I have tried creating a header row with the text formatted in one of the styles in the TOC, tried putting the formatted text in a regular cell, and attempted to create a text box which was grouped with the table but none of them showed up in the TOC.   Any help would be wonderful.

Make the Table inline in the Text in its own paragraph. Give it an "Object" Paragraph Style to control Before and After spacing.
Insert the Table name in the Table but repeat it in a paragraph just below and give that a "Caption" Paragraph Style, then include "Caption" in your T.O.C.
When you move the table, select the Table and Caption by dragging over them as you would for text, and Cut/Paste it elsewhere.

    I love HTMLDB so much, and I thought I would never find anything it couldn't do, but I have run headlong into a problem that I've discovered many users have.
    The Import Spreadsheet Data into Table functionality available in Data Workshop is such a treasure, and I was hoping with all of my heart that such functionality would be available for use inside the User Applications in HTMLDB 2.0. Alas, it is not so.
    I know some brave folks have come up with work-arounds for this lack, and I applaud them. However, none of those will work for the situation I am faced with. I am about to strike out into the no-man's-land of trying to create my own PL/SQL csv file parsing function. Please wish me luck.     Well I looked at the FLOWS_020000.WWV_FLOW_LOAD_DATA.LOAD_CSV_DATA procedure
    From what I can gather(considering nobody cant look at the actual procedural code):
    P_FILE_ID seems to be file id you find in FLOWS_FILES.WWV_FLOW_FILE_OBJECTS$
    P_CNAMES seems to be the column names of table you are loading into
    P_UPLOAD seems to be the names of field from file you are loading
    P_SCHEMA seems to be the schema that contains table where data will be loaded
    P_TABLE seems to be table that you load data into
    P_DATA_TYPE seems to be the datatypes from file to be loaded
    P_DATA_FORMAT not sure
    P_PARSED_DATA_FORMAT not sure
    P_SEPARATOR seems to be the field seperator from file
    P_ENCLOSED_BY seems to be what fields will be enclosed with
    P_FIRST_ROW_IS_COL_NAME seems to be to tell whether or not first row contains column headings
    P_LOAD_TO not sure
    P_CURRENCY seems to be the currency symbol that comes from file
    P_NUMERIC_CHARS not sure
    P_CHARSET not sure
    P_LOAD_ID not sure
    Essentially you could run this process provided you get all the kinks worked out(that is what all the parameters mean/are expected)...
    ...or..
    you write your own process:

    The above code with some tweaking will read the lob. However you still will have to add a piece that creates sql insert statement. One of the pitfalls I see with custom code is the fact that if you end up with huge lob string you will run into problem of creating sql insert statement. Not the actual statement but assigning the statement to a variable due to datatype lengths.

  • Data base table to store the contents of a Variant

    I am using the FM  RS_VARIANT_CONTENTS to extract the contents of a variant of a specific program.  Is there any Data Base table which stores the contents of a variant.

    The table VARI stores all the variants of a program.
    To get the contents of the variant you can use the FM RS_VARIANT_VALUES_TECH_DATA.

  • Table of contents web part doesn't display all data

    Hi,
    We did a test migration from Sharepoint 2007 to SharePoint 2013. There is a Table of contents web part that is being used to display all of the team sites (more than 25). In the SharePoint 2013 version, the TOC web part is not displaying all of the sites.
    Any ideas of how to make it show all?

    According to your description, my understanding is that you want to display all sites in the Table Of Content web part.
    There is a limitation of the web part, the maximum number of the items displaying in the web part is 50. If you want to display more 50 items, you need to increase or remove the limitation. You need to go to the web.config file of the SharePpoint site, the
    path is C:\inetpub\wwwroot\wss\VirtualDirectories\port number, then find all navigation providers, and add
    DynamicChildLimit attribute to each one . More information, please refer to the link below:

  • Button to upload Excel spreadsheet or CSVinto table

    Hello,
    I know it is possible to add a button to a report in HTML Db that when clicks downloads the contents of the report into a .CSV file that can be read by Excel.
    I would like to know if it's possible to have a button in HTML Db that when clicked allows the user to choose a csv/Excel file to upload and then places the results of the upload into a table/report.
    Is this possible and if so how can it be done?

    The ABAP language provides two mechanisms for loading the table control with data from the internal table and then storing the altered rows of the table control back to the internal table.
    Method 1: Read the internal table into the Table Control in the screenu2019s flow logic.  Used when the names of the Table Control fields are based on fields of the internal table.
    Method 2: Read the internal table into the Table Control in the module pool code. Used when the names of the Table Control fields are based on fields of the database table.
    Method 1 (table control fields = itab fields)
    In the flow logic we can read an internal table using the LOOP statement. Define the reference to the relevant able control by specifying WITH CONTROL <ctrl>
    Determine which table entry is to be read by specifying CURSOR <ctrl>-CURRENT_LINE.
    After the read operation the field contents are placed in the header line of the internal table. If the fields in the table control have the same name as the internal they will be filled automatically.   • Creating a Table of Content (toc)

    I am very new with Output designer, so please dont mind if it is a silly question.
    I have to create a PDF report which has around 15-20 sections. I need a toc (table of content) at first page and at the specified position with page number for each section.
    All the sections has some header and detail subforms, so pagenumber is not known at the begining for each sections. I am using xml file as the data file.
    So can i use JFPREAMBLE to get the page number for different subforms, and write that on to the toc subform,
    i did lot of mind storming but not able to resolve my problem, please help.

    Hello,
    I was able to create a TOC for a recent customer in the UK.
    Took a lot of work, but it worked.
    You will have to create a TDF to get the data that you require to be on the TOC, but this is quite easy. The best way is to get the TDF to output the result as a seperate file, and then get the orginal data to call the file as the first thing that you do by using the ^file command

  • Report Generation Toolkit: Table of Contents in MS Word

    Hello forum users,
    I would like to add a table of contents to a MS Word document, using the Report Generation Toolkit.
    I couldn't find a VI in the toolkit that does that, so I tried to modify the VI "Word Insert Field.vi". Doing so, I could access a property node of the class "Word._Document"  and an invoke node of the class "Word.TablesOfContents" with the method "Add".
    As this modified VI does not belong to the private LabVIEW class "NI_Word.lvclass", it is not possible to unbundle the (type cast) "report in" wire to get the "Word._Document" class reference. I can't add the modified VI to the NI_Word class either, because it is password protected.
    There are so many methods and properties that are not used in the official Report Generation Toolkit, like this one. How can I access them?
    Or maybe there is another way to add a table of contents to a MS Word document (programmatically). Maybe I have to use a template. I rather wouldn't, though.

    Hello again,
    in the "Word Specific" > "Word Advanced" Palette of the Report Generation Toolkit, there is a VI called "Word Get ActiveX References" which essentially unbundles the private "report" data stream / wire. Thus, I can use the property and invoke nodes that make use of the "Add TablesOfContents" method.
    I hope, that helps other users as I didn't find too many topics on Report Generation. Maybe it's just too easy...

    I am getting an error while creating data warehouse tables.
    I am using OBIA 7.9.5.
    The contents of the generate_clt log are as below.

    Could this be the cause of the issue? If yes, why could the values be different and how to resolve this?
    If not, then what could be the problem?

    Strange. The OBIA 7.9.5 Installation and Configuration Guide says the following:
    4.3.4.3 Create ODBC Database Connections
    Note: You must use the Oracle Merant ODBC driver to create the ODBC connections. The Oracle Merant ODBC driver is installed by the Oracle Business Intelligence Applications installer. Therefore, you will need to create the ODBC connections after you have run the Oracle Business Intelligence Applications installer and have installed the DAC Client.
    Several other users are getting the same message creating DW tables.

    Are you using Microsoft word?  Microsoft thinks the users are idiots. They put up a lot of pointless messages that annoy & worry users.  I have seen this message from Microsoft word.  It's annoying.
    As BDaqua points out...
    When you copy information via edit > copy,  command + c, edit > cut, or command +x, you place the information on the clipboard. When you paste information, edit > paste or command + v, you copy information from the clipboard to your data file.
    If you edit > cut or command + x and you do not paste the information and you quite Word, you could be loosing information.  Microsoft is very worried about this. When you quite Word, Microsoft checks if there is information on the clipboard & if so, Microsoft puts out this message.
    You should be saving your work more than once a day. I'd save every 5 minutes.  command + s does a save.

So what im doing is that i have created a node of name "table" then created its attribues and binded it to the table and in table, under "column editor" option of "text"  is there where i can write the required text . But Im not able to do the same thing in other rows. i.e. im restricted to only 1st row. How to enter it in other rows. So i want that i should write some content in all the rows of table and display it in text view when i execute it. Its just like u r presenting an excel sheet in output form to the user .

    Task:
    Automatically find town names in listings, and fill in table of contents template on page 2 accordingly.
    Example of page 2 toc, initially:
    Example of a page of content. The town names are what need to be referenced on the TOC:

    Because of the need to include the transaction dates on the TOC (comes as a provided, tagged-text file), a simple Indesign-generated TOC can't be used alone.
    This script uses an Indesign-generated TOC that's on a master page called "T-tocGen" ... It then uses grep search and replaces to grab the needed information, and insert it into the page 2 TOC.
    The script will update a generated TOC and then search for an instance of a page number, and town name. The generated toc lists all included towns in the following format:
    (line start)## tab townName(line end)
    In Grep, this would be (please note, extra \ for \d and \t ... javascript needs that for some reason):
    ^\\d+\\t(.*)$
    After the script gets the info it needs from a found instance of the above, it replaces that line with "---", to prevent that line from being picked up once again.
    The script with then place the needed page number in it's rightful place on page 2, replacing the XX.
    A while loop is used to repeat the above process until there are no longer any instances of "^\\d+\\t(.*)$" present.
    Not every town runs every issue, so once the script is done, it removes all remaining instance of "XX" on the page 2 TOC.
    FINAL CODE:

    This script will use grep find/change methods to apply page numbers in
    tocGen to the XX's on page2TOC.

    You are correct but the problem is there are three rows, One row is 100% black, the second is 60% black and the third is 40% black. I want to change the black to blue, the 60% black to an orange and the 40% black to a light shaded blue. In the find/change option you can select the tint you want to find and replace but yea.. does work on table cells.. oddly enough.

  • Table of Contents #'s not accurate

    I am writing a business plan and am beginning to write the executive summary. If anyone has written one before you would know that an Executive Summary is the first thing you read but the last thing you write. I created a table of contents that contained my chapter headings and the pages they started on. However, now that I went back and added a section (page) between my table of contents and the next chapter it won't change the page number. My executive summary starts on page 3 and in the table of contents it says that my other chapter also is on page 3 which is really on page 4. Hope this isn't too confusing. How do I get pages to put a 4 on the next chapter as the auto up-date isn't working as it should.

    I have tried to re-generate my TOC to no avail. I erased the whole page but as soon as I insert a new TOC I get the same problem. Page numbers don't match up at all. I am getting so frustrated!! The up-date button doesn't do squat. Would it help to do a new table of contents in a new section of its own? I just don't know what to do. I even tried to change the page numbers myself but of course it won't let me select or delete any of the numbers. What a useless feature that has handcuffed my project.
