Spry accordion - content must close on click

Hi,
I was looking for my answer on the forum but still had answers. I gave a reply but I don't know if someone wil read this (sorry if I'm incorrect).
http://forums.adobe.com/message/2154232#2154232
The question is:
In my test site http://www.home-maastricht.nl/parkeren.html  I have almost only accordion tabs.
They all need to close when I click on the picture from de accordionPanelContent.
Where/which/How do I have to put the command to close these. Is it possible that I only do this on one place in de accordion css?
If you click on the last accordeon Tab you see more pictures (a small dataset). This is only visible in IE but not in FF.
Also does the page jump to the top. Any idee what I can do? I work with CS4.
Al lot of questions but they are the finishing touch of the site!!
Thanks a lot for your help!
Carla

Hi Arnout,
First thank you for your reply. I use Mozilla Firefox 3.6.3
But I'm happy it works in your version so I only have to wait that everybody uses the newer version?
Do I have tot give onclick="Accordion1.closePanel()" to every single image?
Like:
!images/12-keukeninterieur/websiteformaat/12-01-maesen-keuken.JPG|height=933|alt=Maesen Munstergeleen|width=700|onclick=Accordion1.closePanel()|src=images/12-keukeninterieur/web siteformaat/12-01-maesen-keuken.JPG!
Ofcourse I’m going to reed the link below, but just for this moment.
Do you have also a solution for the jumping when I’m on the last tab (the window jumps up).
Thanks a lot for helping me !!

  • Spry: Accordion does not close properly

    Hi Everyone,
      I am very new to web design, so bear with me please.
    I created a new website using Dreamweaver and added a spry accordion to use as a menu.  it seemed to be working fine, but as I was adding links into the boxes it quit working on me.  I have thoughts of restarting, but I thought that you may be able to help me here as well.  The link to the website is  http://www.blakesprairiefair.com/2009.html
    I used images for the tab titles and they should all be uploaded, I shoud haver 5 tabs in the accordion but it only shows one   I am attaching how it looked a few keystrokes ago. I can't figure out why it is acting so oddly
    If you need more from me let me know,
    Thank you so much for any help

    Hey,  Thanks for the tip.  I looked through the code like 5 times and I can't seem to find any unclosed or extra Divs  I attached the code below in case that helps.
    I got the code for the defaultPanel: -1 from http://livedocs.adobe.com/en_US/Spry/1.4/help.html?content=WS0E55F588-24EC-4dd3-9508-82132 4E7F133.html
    - Still haven't found the error
    Thanks

  • Spry Accordion Content not expanding fully

    Hi,
         I am trying to add some nice user friendly stuff to my site.  I've created a Spry Accordion in which the content is images that I have created in photoshop.  Some of the content is longer than 200px and will not show up in IE.  When viewed in IE it only shows the 200px even though I have set a script that says fixed panel heights = false.  I've updated everything to the updated spry...I'm going to attach all of the files that go with the dreamweaver file.
    Please help me!
    You can view the page at http://www.hofchurch.com/updated_site2/about_hof.php

    You are using Spry 1.4, the latest version is 1.6.1, consider upgrading to the latest version.

  • How to make Spry Accordion Content Panel with a variable content fit

    I have a problem.  The content panel has a fixed length so I changed it to auto so I can view all the content of each panel.  The problem is that the content panel takes the dimensions of the longest content and applies that to ALL the panels.  So as you click from one to the other, some are practically empty with all the space, while others seem full.
    The question is, is there a way to vary the size of the content panel so on one that has not a lot of content stays to that size.  This is the way I have the CSS for that.  How can I achieve the variable heights?
    .AccordionPanelContent {
    overflow: auto;
    margin: 0px;
    padding: 5px 4px 6px 15px;
    height: auto;
    background: url(../images/backgrcolor0033.png);
    color: #FFF;
    Thank you.

  • Spry accordion content not hiding in IE

    Hi all,
    I threw together a page using accordion menus (
    http://www.riverviewbiblecamp.com/menu.php),
    it works fine in Firefox, Safari, and Opera, but in Internet
    Explorer the conent doesn't hide in the 'closed' panels. The panels
    move when you click, making me think it's a CSS issue?
    Thanks a lot,
    Rory

    Hi:
    Have you tried updating Spry library files to the latest
    version (1.6)?
    From your source, I can see that you are using 1.4

    Welcome to the Forum!
    If you can upload your page to a server and give us a link, we will be able to look at your page in action. Just seeing the code is not enough.
    Is this the first time you have used an Accordion? It is probable that the bright neon blue you are seeing is the default style, which you can change in the CSS file. I believe it was designed that color to highlight the feature you want to change .
    Take a look in the Accordion's CSS file (it will show as an associated file at the top of your document window) for color rules, and adjust them to suit your palette (and your palate!). Check out the CSS Styles Panel (use Current mode) for a handy way to know what you are looking at. Click on the Accordion in Design View and the rules will be highlighted in the CSS Styles Panel. • Spry Accordion No Highlight Upon Selection

    Im working with the spry accordion and when ever i click on a tab the entire outline of the accordion gets highlighted in blue (ie,chrome) or gets a marquee kind of selection around entire outside ( firefox ) is there a way to turn this off so it just works like a normal element?

    is there a way to turn this off so it just works like a normal element?
    Yes there is - you check and modify the respective CSS rules for borders and outlines.

  • Spry Accordion On Click

    How can you get the spry accordion to open and close on a
    mouse click? Also, we do not want the first tab to be opened. We
    would like the user to click on the tab first then it should
    open.

    You can set which panel to open in the code that creates the
    Accordion panel:
    http://labs.adobe.com/technologies/spry/samples/accordion/AccordionSample.html
    If you do not want any panel to be opened when the page
    loads, take a look at the "Starting with All Panels Closed" sample.
    If you want a panel to open and close with a click, rather
    than having to click on another panel in the accordion, then take a
    look at the "Programatically Opening and Closing Panels" sample.

    I've got two Spry Accordion menus on one page. Got them to open on mouseover, but would love for them to close on mouseout. How do I do that?

  • Spry accordion wont close in IE

    I apologize if this has been answered before, but I've been
    searching everywhere and cant find the solution.
    When the page loads all of the panels are open with the
    default panel height, then they all close just enough to not show
    any blank space. If you click on one of the headings then all the
    panels go through the animation of closing and then immediately
    snap back to the variable amount.
    This is showing up in IE, but not in FF (there, it works just
    fine).
    I also can't figure out how to close one that I've opened
    returning to the all closed state.
    Here is a link to the page I'm working on:
    http://localbusinessyellowbook.com/working/index2.php
    If anyone could help me out I would be greatly appreciative.

  • Spry Accordion Menu - Content Height

    Hey everyone,
    I have a (hopefully simple) problem. I have a spry accordion with 3 tabs. Two of them have the same number of lines in them, but the "what" tab only has 2 lines so there's a lot of white space underneath it. I've tried changing
    this.useFixedPanelHeights  to false in the spry java script... and it does resize the content area properly, but the open and close on mouseover gets really messed up.  Things don't open when they should, and close randomly. It makes it impossible to navigate. I've tried several other things as well, but nothing seems to fix the problem
    The website:
    http://jmb2-arch.com
    Thanks in advance for any help!
    -Cameron

    You might try playing with the height specification as stated in the Spry CSS:
    .AccordionPanelTab { -moz-user-select: none; -khtml-user-select: none; height: 76px; border: 2px solid #027dc3; width: 76px; color: #027dc3;
    Setting a height is usually not necessary, unless there is a specific design reason (as there is here, with the main tabs and the sub tab area apparently intended to be identically sized).

  • Firefox is taking a long time to open the first time I click on it and also a dialouge box comes up stating firefox is already running, but is not responding, you must close existing firefox process? What is going on?

    After I start my computer in the morning, I go to my email, then I click on firefox, with google as my homepage, it takes a long time for firefox to show up on the computer. It says it is connecting, then when I close firefox, and go to reopen it again, a dialog box opens up that says firefox is already running and I must close existing firefox process first. I have not run into this problem before.

    * The first time you start up any application after turning on your computer is called a cold start, which is why Firefox takes a while to load right away. (I've noticed that future versions of Firefox start up faster on a cold start then Firefox 5.0.1.) Also, a lower amount of RAM could be slowing its start-up down since Firefox is kind of memory hungry.
    * As for the second part of your question, press ctrl,Alt, and the delete keys on your keyboard. The Windows Task Manager should start. Go to the processes tab and look for 'firefox.exe'. Right click on the firefox.exe and click 'End Process'. Hit Yes and wait for a minute.
    * Then opening Firefox again.
    Hopefully this helped somewhat!

  • Spry Accordion - Tabs open and then close after page loads

    I am using a Spry Accordion menu driven from a database.
    The menu opens up during the page load and then closes.
    I'm using SpryAccordion.js 1.6.1
    And to open a preset tab, I'm using:
    <script type="text/javascript">
    <!--
    var Accordion1 = new Spry.Widget.Accordion("Accordion1",{useFixedPanelHeights:false, enableAnimation: false, defaultPanel: 0 });
    //-->
      </script>
    But, all of the tabs open and then close on page load.
    My page:   http://www.texashotjobs.us/00C01.aspx
    Any fix for this??
    Thanks, Ron

    Well to both thanks.  Actually I wasn't disappointed as I had a two part question...
    I tested the 1.6 JS and remembered that I had to modify the 1.4 so that tabs actually would link.  So I reverted back to 1.4.
    So, going to 1.6 fixed the open panel on load but "unfixed" the panel tab from linking.....
    So changing this in the 1.6 js fixed the link issue as well:
    Spry.Widget.Accordion.prototype.onPanelTabClick = function(e, panel)
        if (panel != this.currentPanel)
            this.openPanel(panel);
        else
            this.closePanel();
        if (this.enableKeyboardNavigation)
            this.focus();
    //    if (e.preventDefault) e.preventDefault();
    //    else e.returnValue = false;
    //    if (e.stopPropagation) e.stopPropagation();
    //    else e.cancelBubble = true;
    I t appears everything is working........

  • Spry Accordion 1.6.1 gains vert & hztl scrollbars in content area.

    I've scratched my scalp raw. This page works fine in both Firefox and Chrome, but picks up vertical and horizontal scrollbars in the content area once open. Is this a known bug, or does it have something to do with the fact that I'm also using a Spry tabs inside the accordion content area? I'm using Spry 1.6.1 and Googling the issue turned up a few other people with the same problem. I've fiddled with the CSS overflow and height properties of the .AccordionPanelContent class, but to no avail. Please help!

    I'm sorry, I did not complete the sentence correctly. The scrollbars appear in IE7. They're fine in Firefox, Chrome and IE8. Should I post html file and dependencies?
