Spry bar sub menus not working. Am at wit's end.
Hi all,
I am having trouble with getting my submenus on my spry bar to function. At first I was getting the error message of spry undefined. I looked for answers in forums, and tried a few things like making sure the .js file was there, looking for code mistakes, etc. Nothing worked, so I then deleted and reinstalled the spry bar and spry assets files, and of course, uploaded them to the server. Now I don't get any error messages, but the submenus just don't drop down.
Here is my code:

Hi,
Although you didn't get an answer here, I visited your web page and it looks like you found a way to solve the problem. I am having a similar problem and wonder if you (or somebody) can help me?
My problem is that while everything else works just fine, my sub-submenus do not. The first one drops down, but the second one does not (so it looks like I have one item when in fact I have two).
My css code is copied directly from Adobe's SpryMenuBarHorizontal.css. The only things I changed were some button widths, colors, and I tweaked the location the buttons appear in (but did not change original locations nor z-indexes, I don't think!). I am reprinting it below, just in case.
I am using the last version of Spry (1.6.1).
Here is a link to the page, and when you view it, keep in mind that only "Portfolio" has sub-menus, and of those, only "Writing" is supposed to have more than one sub-item ("Fiction" and "Non-Fiction").

Spry Vertical Menu and sub menus not working correctly
I am designing a website for a client and cannot get the spry vertical menu and submenus to work correctly. The submenus will show on the index.html page, but not on any other pages, or when I preview in browser. Should I make it a library item then add it to the other pages? I am not sure what I am doing wrong. I appreciate your help!

E71 - Some sub menus not working.
I have had my E71 for about 2 days and already I am having issues!
If I try and access the 'Installations' menu it just takes me to one of the apps in that folder (wireless presenter). I dont get to see my other applications in that folder, the same happens when I try and access the 'Media' menu this time I get 'Messenger live' instead of seeing the submenu. If I try and access the 'Tools' menu then a card game loads up (a application within that folder).
In fact pretty much all of my sub folders are not allowing me to access them and see whats in the folder, instead a application within that menu will load up.
Because of this I am now missing most of my applications!
Many thanks for any help, I am tearing my hair out! I have only had the phone 2 days and this problem started last night.

Have yo tried the standard fixes:
- reseting the iPod:
Press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button and the Home
button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Restoring the iPod from backup via iTunes

Ok. so I am getting pretty frustrated. I take the time to learn how to use CSS and to create a template page for a Contractor Site (www.ContractorInsurance.net). The idea is to create a page that I can use for different classes of Contractors...right?
Then I get all happy about being able to insert ToolTip onto pages to help the user. Great!
LIfe to turn to Sorrow after nearly five hours of searching for a "eeking" answer.
So what good does it do to have an Editable region to update if we cannot have the flexibility to insert a tool tip on child pages? Ok so the fast solution is to what... Have a question mark image, insert another apDiv, name it toolTip_Not and provide it with a show=hide behavior?
RRRRRrrr...
This really sucks not being able to find a solution within a reasonable amount of time.I have tried thank you. However...it is still not working.

The error message is "Making this change would require code that is locked by a template translator"

If you have a look at the following simple document with a tooltipTooltip trigger goes here.
Tooltip content goes here.
you will notice that a couple of lines have been placed in the HEAD section of the document. When using DW templates, the HEAD section is usually not editable, hence the error mesaage. By default, your template should have an editable region in it just before the closing tag. It looks like this: <!-- TemplateBeginEditable name="head" > <! TemplateEndEditable --> Dreamweaver should be able to find that editable region and insert the
<script> tag there automatically. Because you don't have an editable region like that in the <head>, open the master template, and paste the code above just before the closing </head>
tag. Gramps

Safari hierarchical menus not working correctly
Hello all,
I'm having a problem with Safari's hierarchical menus not working correctly. They pop out in odd positions, and--worst of all--the big ones (for folders that contain lots of bookmarks) pop out right on top of the main bookmarks menu, making it all but impossible to navigate that main menu. I've tried all the usual tricks: log out/restart the system, restart Safari, reset Safari, boot in safe boot mode, repair permissions, yank Safari's bookmarks prefs file, even reinstall Safari, and nothing worked. I've also noticed the same behavior in Camino. My system hierarchical menus work fine, though, so I'm thinking I have a corrupt prefs file somewhere. I'm using Safari 4.04 with no extra plugins beyond what come with it on 10.5.8. Does anyone know what's going on and how to fix this?AFAIK, the submenu will pop on either side, depending on available space and if there are further subfolders, allowing them to continue in the same direction.
Since the new account doesn't exhibit the issue, there are two ways to attack the problem. One is to log into your new account, make a list of the preference files (plists) located in /username/Library/Preferences/, including any in the ByHost subfolder, log back into the original account, move everything not on that list into a newly created folder on the Desktop, log out and back in, and see if the problem goes away. If so, you can copy the ones in the Desktop folder (one at time) back into /Preferences/, restart, and see if the problem returns. If so, you've identified the corrupt/conflicting one. Continue with all of them until isolating the bad ones. That'll save you the trouble of resetting preferences.
The second way is much more detailed and I'll not burden you with the steps unless the above doesn't fix the issue. -

Scroll bar on editor not working
I recently upgraded to phtoshop elments 11.0 to 13.0
In the editor mode I cannot use the scroll bar. The scroll bar works fine in the orgnizaer mode. I have tried three different mouses and there is no difference.
Tom Fitch, San Antonio TexasI am using Windows 7 Professional
In the organizer portion the scroll bar moves. When I put my mouse or
arrow on the scroll bar and drag it then of course I move through the different
rows of folders or rows of pictures once in the photo bin.
It was doing it with Photoshop Elements 11.0 and I thought 13.0 might fix
the problem and the scroll bar did move on the first try but not since then.
When I try and load the photo bin and I am choosing the right folder to
load the scroll bar just does not move. I can select the right folder by
using my up and down arrow or the page up and down and then click on the right
folder and then it loads.
Once I get the right folder of pictures loaded and once I finish the first
row of pictures I cannot use my mouse and arrow to drag the scroll bar
down to get to the next row of pictures. I can place my arrow on my mouse
below the scroll bar and got to the next row but I usually get only half the
picture and sometimes only 1/4 of it but I can usually get it loaded up and
edit the pictures and move on the next picture but it is very slow and
frustrating.
Any help would be appreciated.
I protested to an adobe supervisor and I got an e-mail and somebody is
supposed to call me tomorrow so hopefully then can log on to my computer and
see what I am talking about.
Sound like something got corruped in the editor mode only. I tried 3
different mouses and even the computer mouse and no difference.

Spry select menu validation not working for all menus
This is VERY strange...I have two menus which show depending on the selection in another menu. The other, or main, menu has the spry validation working fine. So does the validation for one of the other 'child' menus. But the other child menu validation does not work, despite the fact that the code is nearly identical for both except for the spry ids and select ids (of course). You can see the form working at:
https://registrations.ucc.usyd.edu.au/profile.php
If you select, say, Arts faculty from the faculty menu, then you will get another menu for schools. Validation works for these when the submit button is pressed. However, if you select 'Not Faculty' from the faculty menu another menu will show instead of the school menu. This is the menu that is not validating.
I have attached my php page for the code in this form.
The same problem exists for other menus that are in hidden divs further down the page.
Any help appreciated!!!!Your key is the "suitcase fusion for a font manager" line.
There is a bug where you won't be able to create a button if you have a bad font, or a duplicate font, installed.
First try shutting off all of the fonts you have open with Suitcase, and see if that helps. If so, open one suitcase at a time until you figure out which font is the culprit.
If shutting off all but the basic System fonts does not help, you might have to reinstall your system, or somehow update your core System fonts. I don't know how to do that, but there was a recent article at http://www.tidbits.com/ that discussed fonts and their maintenance. But ultimately it's a font problem. -
Spry drop down menu not working when tested in ie7, does in FF and safari on mac
Please help! I have a spry dropdown menu on a page, when tested in FF and Safari it works fine, but when tested in IE the menus don't drop down and the styling to the over state seems to be being ignored. I have attached the code and css below.
As I am just on the build stage it is in a template, I have not made any editable regions on the template as yet, this should not matter should it? As is probably obvious already I am quite new to this! Please help!

SPRY drop-down submenus not working
I created a spry menu bar, customized it with a button image I created. The main nav menu as well as the sub-menus were all working beautifully when I tested it in Safari, Opera & Firefox. I then added links and it was at this point I noticed that the sub-menus were not working, although it appears normal when viewed in DW CS4 and the source code. I would appreciate it if you could advise if there's some known bug or it's simply a user issue. I'd appreciate it if you could please take a look at my source codes.
Thanks,Hi,

@media screen, projection
ul.MenuBarHorizontal li.MenuBarItemIE
display: inline;
f\loat: left;
background: #FFF;Because I can't see your site and code in context, I will make a guess that this style is throwing off your alignment:
/* Menu item containers, position children relative to this container and are a fixed width */
ul.MenuBarHorizontal li
margin: 0;
padding: 0;
list-style-type: none;
font-size: 100%;
position: relative;
text-align: center;
cursor: pointer;
width: 160px;
float: left;
background-image: url(file:///E|/MAIN_website/images/menu_background.jpg);
Remove the text-align:center; from the above style.
Instead of centering your list element (li), center the link text (a) itself:
/* Menu items are a light gray block with padding and no text decoration */
ul.MenuBarHorizontal a
display: block;
cursor: pointer;
padding: 0.5em 0.75em;
color: #FFF;
text-align: center;
text-decoration: none;
font-family: Cambria, Arial, sans-serif;
font-size: 14px;
If you don't want the submenu text to be centered, do this immediately after the previous style:
ul.MenuBarHorizontal ul a {text-align: left;}
The sub-submenus are also set up by default to be jogged a bit to the right. You can adjust this style:
/* Submenus should appear slightly overlapping to the right (95%) and up (-5%) */
