Spry Tooltip ok in CS 4, but not in CS 5
Hi,
something very strange has happened! I suddenly have difficulties to use tooltip in CS 5, because nothing happens when I try to insert spry tooltip. Today I tried it with my "old" CS4 AND behold, it worked well! All the tooltip files are stored in my SpryAssets directory.
Would you please help me to get to the bottom of it.
Hans-Guenter
Hans-Günter,
I have just tried it without any problems

XML (RSS) Spry Dataset File Works in Preview But Not Over Internet
hello
I am trying to build a custom feed reader using the Spry framework in Dreamweaver CS4 and everything seems to go smoothly until I actually host the file (with the accompanying js and css files) and try to view it over the internet
previewing from DW shows everything working the way it should
I feel like I am missing something obvious ... but not sure what

My Spry collapsable panel works on Dreamweaver but not on my published site
I created a one page static microsite for a client and inserted Spry collapsable panel in the content div. It looks perfect on Dreamweaver and even when I previewed it on Chrome, Firefox, and Safari, it looked great. After I uploaded the page, the panel's dissapeared and the text center justified. Any help?

Spry drop down works in IE but not in FireFox or Chrome. Why?
I have used the standard spry drop down on several other sites with great success and no browser compatibility issues. I think what's happened is that I messed up my Spry Assets when I was tweaking things so now I can't get it to work the way it did by default. Is there some way that I can reset everything to the original settings or download a replacement set of assets that will get me back to square one?

Spry Slideshow works in Firefox/Safari but not in Explorer
I'm still unable to get my slideshow to work. It works fine in Safari and Firefox, but nothing shows up in Explorer. Does anyone have any ideas or maybe another reputable source for a different slideshow widget?
www.epaaudio.comjQuery is a popular Javascript framework and there are a ton of jQuery slideshows out there - do a web search on it. It might proove to be a better option for what you're trying to accomplish.

It works in IE but not Firefox... I can't figure out why... can you help me and see what I have done wrong?
Eternally grateful,
StarryI think I fixed the problem.. maybe you had looked at it after it was fixed. I do appreciate your help though!

Spry Tooltip works in page 1, not in pg 2?
New to Dreamweaver, so please forgive my learning curve stupidity regarding Spry and fancy stuff.
I've created a Spry Tooltip series for a simple menu bar on my client's page. He wants to keep things clean and simple. The tooltips work fine on the front page of his test site here: http://www.approvalsourceleasing.com/test/myway.html
However, clicking on the "contact" link (whick has no tooltip on it) brings us to a new page using the SAME code as the first page (copy pasted) and then I simply added a new table underneath the original logo and menu with the tooltips. It can be found here: http://www.approvalsourceleasing.com/contact.html
When I "preview in browser" via Dreamweaver the page displays properly, but when you click the link and view it for real it does not. The tooltips do not work, and the text for the tooltips is located on the bottom of the page--no error messages. I've tested this in IE and Firefox and I get the same result.
I'm not sure what I did wrong.
Thank you in advance!Yes, thank you. I figured it out late last night thankfully. My SpryAssets folder wasn't reading properly on the second page. I just needed to re-upload it.

Spry menubar works in IE, but not Firefox
I added a very simple Spry horizontal menubar to the top of all pages in my web (I'm using DWCS4 and Spry 1.6). When I preview it in Firefox locally, it seems to work, but when it is uploaded to the web server it works in IE, but not in Firefox. Instead of a menubar, I see a stack of bulleted hyperlinks. In IE, it displays properly.
Website is http://www.stevegoldman.com.
How can I fix this problem so that it works with all browsers properly?
-- MartinI just tested your site with firefox (latest version) and it works just fine. I also tested it in IE: 7.0 and it worked fine for that too. Looks like you have either fixed the problem or you have a different version of firefox than me or something.

Spry accordion works in template, but not pages using that template
So I added a spry accordion to one of my templates and changed the script to default closed. It works great. In the template. But not in any of the pages using that template. Basically I can see the content in the accordion on the page as if there is no accordion at all. And I can see the script and html telling me an accordion should be there. It just isn't. I can see the framework when in edit mode. But in live mode, it's like there's not there but the content.
I'm using Dreamweaver CS6.
Any thoughts?
Thank you for your time!If the template has been created properly, then the Spry files should automatically be included in the child page(s).

Spry Widget Slideshow Basic works on local but not on remote server
I have tried everything imaginable and I can't make this slideshow work from the remote server. I get the massages:
SpryPanelSet.js requires SpryWidget.js!
SpryFadingPanels.js requires SpryPanelSet.js!
SpryImageSlideShow.js requires SpryWidget.js!
SpryPanAndZoomPlugin.js requires SpryImageSlideShow.js!
Also the opening page has a preloader image that doesn't show up until the page is saved to my cache.

Using a variable in Spry conditional tests included in a Spry Tooltip
I have the following code:
<div spry:region="company" id="tooltip">
<div spry:repeat="company" spry:choose="spry:choose">
<div spry:when="'{name}'==memberName">
<table>
<tr>
<td
align="center"><h2>{name}</h2></td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td align="center"><img src="{headshot}"
alt="{name}" width="227" height="350" /></td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td align="center">{description}</td>
</tr>
</table>
</div>
</div>
</div>
<script type="text/javascript">
var tooltip_trigger_one = new
Spry.Widget.Tooltip("tooltip","#trigger", {showDelay: 200,
hideDelay: 200, offsetX: 250, offsetY: 200} );
</script>
where the variable "memberName" is set elsewhere to a value
that matches one of the occurrences in the column "name" in the
dataset "company". I can see, using debugging tools, that the
variable is being set correctly. But.... when the tooltip is
triggered, only a small few-pixel square box opens up.
If, instead of using the variable "memberName" in:
<div spry:when="'{name}'==memberName">
I use a string, as in
<div spry:when="'{name}'=='John Doe'">
then the code works correctly and I get a large tootlip
showing me the correct information for that member of the company.
I have tried different tests (spry:if and spry:test for
instance), tried various combinations of quotes and parenthesis and
tried placing the code at various places both inside and outside of
the <body> -- but always get the same results.
Is it not possible to test against a variable or am I doing
something else incorrectly?
Thanks,
JanetOK.... some progress to report.
I was setting memberName onmouseover-- which is also the
trigger for the tooltip-- thusly:
<p><em onmouseover="memberName='John Doe'"
id="trigger">John Doe</em></p>
It seems that the variable is being set, but too late, as the
trigger has already caused the div... id="tooltip"> to be
evaluated with "memberName" not equal to any of the names in the
dataset. I tried using a function call to set "memberName" and
tried putting the onmouseover in the <p> tag and leaving the
trigger id in the <em> tag. but neither of those appear to
change the outcome. "memberName" still appears to be set to the
value I initialized it to up the the <head> section at the
time the tooltip <div> is evaluated. Although it is set
correctly if I check it's value using Firebug after I have
mouse-overed it.
Incidentally, using a Firebug breakpoint just before the
<div spry:when...> and checking the value of memberName was
how I discovered that "memberName" still seemed to have a value of
"initialized" which is what I set it to up in the <head>
section.
Having written all of this, I am wondering though, shouldn't
the value of "memberName" be equal to "John Doe" the second time I
mouseover it? Or, if there are more than one trigger "names" on the
page, shouldn't "memberName" be equal to the name of the previous
trigger that I moused-over? And with memberName having a legitimate
value at that point, shouldn't the tooltip now show the correct
display information rather than just that little few pixel square
box that I am getting when I mouse-over the trigger name?
Clearly there is something that I just am not understanding.
Janet
