Spry UI 1.7 "Featured Content" Slideshow: Non-functioning buttons IE9

Hey guys!
So I'm about finished with a website that I've been working on for some time now. One of the last things I did was customize a Spry Content Slideshow widget to be implemented into the homepage. It went well; things are pretty much exactly how I want them...tested the site (locally) this morning, and it worked great in Chrome, pretty good in Firefox...and for the most part, worked fine within IE9. Until I went to test links. In the first two browsers, the links worked fine, but IE9 has, for some reason, shifted the actual, clickable part of the button just to the right of the button. Here's a brief snippet of the code that covers the two buttons on slide #1:
                      <a href="nate.html">
                      <button type="button"><span><span><span>Nate</span></span></span></button>
                      </a>
                      <a href="kate.html">
                      <button type="button"><span><span><span>Kate</span></span></span></button>
                      </a> </div>
Again, the buttons themselves don't actually work, but there's a thin strip, probably 1-2 pixels wide, and as tall as the button, directly to the right that are active within IE9. It's as if the link got compressed into that 1x30 pixel space somehow...I can't figure it out!
Any ideas on how to make IE recognize the actual buttons as the link, instead of that random little sliver next to them?  Thanks in advance for any help, and let me know if you need more details!
-Casey

Add an onclick event as follows
<a href="nate.html" onclick="window.location=this.href;return false;"><button type="button"><span><span><span>Nate</span></span></span></button></a>    <a href="kate.html" onclick="window.location=this.href;return false;"><button type="button"><span><span><span>Kate</span></span></span></button></a>

  • Web content location - non functional

    Running Lion server 10.7.3. hostname = myserver.somedomain.com ip=1.2.3.4 (examples - this is a working server, online, active dns, etc.)
    Configuring web server gives a default server with files located in /Library/Server/Web/Data/Sites/Default
    Configuring a 'new' web server and given a server name of myserver.somedomain.com configured to asnwer on any ip (actual or local) with files pointing to:
    /Library/Server/Web/Data/Sites/myserver
    results in the default page being loaded. How do we configure this so that it actually points to the content we want?
    Lion Advanced Server manual is zero help. Assistance greatly appreciated.

    The Server.app GUI is just awful, I'm surprised we're up to .3 and it still hasn't been fixed.
    Ultimately, Server.app just writes a series of Apache configuration files in /etc/apache2/.
    The default site's file is probably called 0000_any_80_.conf, so just look for that and either edit it directly, or remove it (after backing it up, of course, just in case).

  • Non functioning buttons

    My volume button (the - sign) and the switch on and off button doesn't work. It started with the volume button and now I have difficulty with switch button.

    Hi isaac118
    Welcome to the forum!
    May we know the model of your device? Did something happen to the phone before the issue started? What troubleshooting steps have you done to resolve the issue? If the back cover is removable, you can try to reboot the phone by removing the battery of the device. Also, carefully put back the back cover and make sure that it is attached to the phone properly.
    Hope this helps. Let us know the outcome.

  • Spry Content Slideshow (Wonderlust) behaving strangely in IE7

    Hey all,
    I am building a page  which uses the Spry Content Slideshow - it renders nicely in Firefox, Chrome, and IE8 - but in IE7 the content to the right of the rotating slide show images "flickers" - that is, it flickers in and out, based on movement of the mouse pointer over it.
    Here is a link to the page: https://www.drmyattswellnessclub.com/New Website/indexTEST.html
    Has anyone seen this before and does anyone have a fix for this strange behavior?
    Any help will be gratefully received!
    Mark

    I have corrected a bunch of the "errors" that it found - even adding alt tags to transparent spaceholder gifs and the like.
    No comment
    Others of the errors seem to make no sense - as might be expected of an automated checker - and yet others are in places that should make no difference to the function of the spry slideshow but could screw up the functionality of other features on the page if "corrected".
    I have taken the liberty to abduct your slideshow and place it in a friendly environment, Please be free to check on its health here http://pleysier.com.au/wellness/
    Now I'm at the point where tweaking the code to try to please the validator is running me around in circles...
    If you think that it is merely a matter of pleasing the validator, you are in for a surprise
    Unless there is some relatively straight-forward correction for the funky behavior of this slideshow thing in IE7 I'm just going to move on - my boss is getting impatient - and I'll find something else that ~does~ work...
    Mmmm....!
    If I were a html/css expert I would have written this thing clean in the first place - but I'm not; I'm just a poor boob that made the mistake of addmitting to have once hand-coded a website from scratch back in the dinosaur-days of the mid 1990's - and so I got tasked with upgrading this website "cause you know all about that kind of stuff!"
    Down under we call that foot-in-mouth disease.
    Frustrated...
    I hope that the lighthearted comments above have relieved the tension. If you have any more Spry related problems, please do not hesitate to return here.

  • Help with Spry Content Slideshow

    Hi,  I like the new widget browser and how easy it makes adding widgets in dreamweaver, Top marks to the developers.
    I have been having a play around with the spry content slideshow, with the possibility of using it on a small business website I am working on.  I have managed to alter the width and height of the widget and everything looks and works great.  I was however wondering how I would go about adding say a 250w x 80h logo above the banner on each slide, which would also require that the banner and story be lowered slightly.
    Thanks in advance for any help anyone can offer with this.

    I was just playing with Spry Content Slideshow earlier, and conveniently still have it open, so I'll give this one a shot, too. It looks like you've got two options embed a "logo bar" of some sort inside the the Slideshow, or (the easier method) wrap the Slideshow in another container. I just used a single banner image.
    I gave embedding a try and placed a <div class="logo"><img/></div> before the first article, but the JavaScript overrode this, and added a new article. Moving this construct inside the first article created a fairly nice banner, keeping the rounded corners at the top. The construct, however, will need to be added to each article. I didn't like that too much, but it's just a personal preference.
    The easy way (?) would be a wrapper, such as <div class="logo"><img /><div id="theSlideshow">...</div></div>, then style the ".logo" class as needed, maybe even copying portions of the style from ".WLBSlideShow" in "wanderlust-brown.css" for the rounded corners, and maybe giving ".logo" additional "padding-bottom" and ".WLBSlideShow" a negative "margin-top", to overlap the bottom of the logo area. Localized CSS modifications (placed after the linked CSS) might be something like the following?
    .logo { background-color: #491e16; width:700px; border: solid 1px #39312e; -webkit-border-radius: 7px; background-color: #491e16; -moz-box-shadow: 5px 5px 10px gray; -webkit-box-shadow: 5px 5px 10px gray; box-shadow: 5px 5px 10px gray; } .logo img { width:100%; height:100px; padding-bottom:40px; } .WLBSlideShow { margin-top:-60px; margin-left:-1px; }
    If you'd like to see the first method, I can put that up, but the HTML is a bit repetitive.
    Hope this helps. If not you maybe someone!

  • Spry Content Slideshow buttons with IE8?

    Hi,
    Trying out the Spry Content Slideshow (Wanderlust Theme) 1.0. I insterted a link for one of the default buttons and it works in Firefox but not in IE8. On hover over or clicking does nothing.
    <div class="content">
            <p>A few short miles from downtown San Francisco, horses roam in the fields of Marin County, California.</p>
            <a href="http://www.yahoo.com">

          </a> </div>
    Am I missing something?
    Thanks,
    Mike

    Apply an onclick event to the link, for example instead of
    <a href="../04Education/first.html">
                  <button type="button">
                  <span><span><span>Learn More</span></span></span>
                  </button>

    use
    <a href="../04Education/first.html" onclick="window.location = this.href;">

  • Spry Content Slideshow Wonderlust

    I am trying to implement the spry content slideshow wonderlust that I got from the adobe widget browser. I copied the code into the page where I want the slideshow to show up and it is not formatting correctly. It is evidently missing the stylesheet. How do I get the style sheet to make this widget work?
    The following is the code that is pasted into the head section of the page.
    <link type='text/css' href='Spry-UI-1.7/css/ContentSlideShow/wanderlust/wanderlust-brown.css' rel='stylesheet'/>
    <script type='text/javascript' src='Spry-UI-1.7/includes/SpryDOMUtils.js'></script>
    <script type='text/javascript' src='Spry-UI-1.7/includes/SpryDOMEffects.js'></script>
    <script type='text/javascript' src='Spry-UI-1.7/includes/SpryWidget.js'></script>
    <script type='text/javascript' src='Spry-UI-1.7/includes/SpryPanelSelector.js'></script>

    <script type='text/javascript' src='Spry-UI-1.7/includes/SpryContentSlideShow.js'></script>
    In the section where I want the slideshow to show up I pasted the following code:

    I am trying to implement the spry content slideshow wonderlust that I got from the adobe widget browser. I copied the code into the page where I want the slideshow to show up and it is not formatting correctly. It is evidently missing the stylesheet. How do I get the style sheet to make this widget work?
    The following is the code that is pasted into the head section of the page.
    <link type='text/css' href='Spry-UI-1.7/css/ContentSlideShow/wanderlust/wanderlust-brown.css' rel='stylesheet'/>
    <script type='text/javascript' src='Spry-UI-1.7/includes/SpryDOMUtils.js'></script>
    <script type='text/javascript' src='Spry-UI-1.7/includes/SpryDOMEffects.js'></script>
    <script type='text/javascript' src='Spry-UI-1.7/includes/SpryWidget.js'></script>
    <script type='text/javascript' src='Spry-UI-1.7/includes/SpryPanelSelector.js'></script>
    <script type='text/javascript' src='Spry-UI-1.7/includes/SpryPanelSet.js'></script>
    <script type='text/javascript' src='Spry-UI-1.7/includes/SpryFadingPanels.js'></script>
    <script type='text/javascript' src='Spry-UI-1.7/includes/SpryContentSlideShow.js'></script>
    In the section where I want the slideshow to show up I pasted the following code:
    <div id="ImageSlideShow">
      <div class="article">
        <div class="photo"> <img src="http://labs.adobe.com/technologies/spry/ui/images/dbooth/images/photos-14.jpg" alt="San Francisco, CA" />

  • In wunderlust-brown content slideshow I cannot get the content to show in IE 8

    I am using wunderlust-brown content slideshow. I cannot get the content to show in IE 8. The picture shows but no content. I narrowed down the problem to a missing CSS attribute - .WLBSlideShow .article
    If I add .article to the end of the .story attribute (.WLBSlideShow .story .article) then I get content in IE 8 but the page no longer works properly in Firefox or Chrome.
    I want to know what CSS code is supposed to be in this file for the .article attribute. It is a simple problem and I hope I can get a resolution quickly.
    Thanks.

    Thank you for the URL, this makes it a lot easier.

    You will likely get better program help in a program forum Photoshop General Discussion
    The Cloud forum is not about using individual programs
    The Cloud forum is about the Cloud as a delivery & install process
    If you will start at the Forums Index https://forums.adobe.com/welcome

    MacBook Pro  / Mozilla Firefox / Netflix / Silverlight Update solved - DON'T DWNLOAD FROM NETFLIX
    I solved this problem tonight. I have a MacBook Pro with 10.5.8. I know, it's old. But I love my Netflix and I recently noticed that Firefox plays Netflix much better.  Then I suddenly got this message that I needed to download the latest Silverlight - it only takes 30 seconds! - WRONG.   However, after much searching, I finally did the steps in order and it worked.
    This was after repeatedly downloading Silverlight from the Netflix site without success.  So here's what I did:
    1. Went to http://www.microsoft.com/getsilverlight/Get-Started/Install/Default.aspx
    2. Followed the directions. I felt like such an idiot for not doing it right before.
    3. Go to your hard drive and search for "Silverlight" to locate ANY existing Silverlight files: .dmg, etc.
        [also check your Libary/ Internet Plug-ins, but the above search is faster]
    4. Drag it all to the trash and empty it.
    5. Go back to the Get  Silverlight page and click on the Install on that page, not the Netflix site.
    6. Note the steps for Safari or Mozilla Firefox - I wanted Firefox, so I follwed those instructions.
    7. Once it's installed, close all the browsers and Restart that bad boy. Right away.
    8. Open a browser, go to Netflix and proceed to joyfully rot your brain with Netflix content. Yay!

  • Creating Featured Content Sliders

    Hi Everyone,
    Does anyone know of a reliable resource/tutorial or have experience that explains how to develop a featured content slider.  The following web sites are examples of what I'd like to create:
    www.yankees.com
    www.dell.com
    Ideally, the following behaviors are desired -  using nothing but pure ActionScript 3.0 and Flash CS3.  I realize some of these use jQuery or JW Image Rotator - we are not looking to do that.  Anyway, here is what we're looking for:
    Preloader for each slide
    Auto play for each slide with fade transitions to the next slide.
    Markers (highlighted) indicating which slide is currently playing
    Navigation (back, forward and the ability to select each marker)
    Display corresponding HTML content underneath the graphic (similar to Yankees.com)
    Thanks in advance for your suggestions.

    your best bet is to use google to search for tutorials.  you'll probably need to put together two or three tutorials to show you how to code for everything you want.

    Does anyone know how to make a cool homepage content slideshow like this one:

    Or if you know of any good tutorials!
    Thanks

    Pretty easy using AS3. Google for "as3 xml slideshow" and you will get lots of sample and tutorials.

  • PDF/A results in non-functional links in Table of Contents -- Normal?

    Hey,
    Got a quick Q here - I recently converted a .docx into the PDF/A 1-b (2005) standard, but for whatever reason, save the computer that did the actual conversion, the links in my Table of Contents no longer function.
    If I use Preflight to remove the PDF/A tag, the links work OK. Is there something about PDF/A that removes linking functionality that I'm not aware of? These links on my document simply move to different parts of the document, nothing too fancy.
    Thanks.

    Hmmm. I hadn't heard of this limitation. Indeed, http://www.pdfa.org/2011/08/pdfa-–-a-look-at-the-technical-side/ says "With regard to hyperlinks, the special ‘Link’ annotation type is permitted with or without activated ‘Appearance’. "  Maybe this document is being generated with a different kind of annotation.
