Creating Featured Content Sliders

Hi Everyone,
Does anyone know of a reliable resource/tutorial or have experience that explains how to develop a featured content slider. The following web sites are examples of what I'd like to create:

www.dell.com
Ideally, the following behaviors are desired - using nothing but pure ActionScript 3.0 and Flash CS3. I realize some of these use jQuery or JW Image Rotator - we are not looking to do that. Anyway, here is what we're looking for:
Preloader for each slide
Auto play for each slide with fade transitions to the next slide.
Markers (highlighted) indicating which slide is currently playing
Navigation (back, forward and the ability to select each marker)
Display corresponding HTML content underneath the graphic (similar to Yankees.com)

your best bet is to use google to search for tutorials. you'll probably need to put together two or three tutorials to show you how to code for everything you want.

Help: Can I create unique content in Dreamweaver and host it on Adobe?

I have been told that I cannot do this and I am asking for verification.
I am a CC subscriber so I have five Adobe hostings available.
What I want to know:
Is it correct that when I purchased the CC subscription and Dreamweaver with five site hostings, I cannot use Dreamweaver to create unique content and host it on the five hostings?
Why would Adobe sell Dreamweaver with all it’s capabilities and not support using it on the hostings that are sold as part of the package?
What I want to do:
Create very simple, unique content in Dreamweave. No commerce, just pages.
Publish it (test site is OK) to one of my available Adobe hostings.
Have it look just like I created it without any Business Catalysts templates or content.
What I have been told:
My five Adobe hostings are in Business Catalyst
I have to use Business Catalyst templates or my web site will not work
I cannot create unique content in Dreamweaver and use my Adobe hostings to post content entirely of my own design. I must conform to Business Catalyst.
What I have experienced:
I can create my content in Dreamweaver.
When I try to create a new Business Catalyst site in Dreamweaver using my content, Dreamweaver wants to download the lorem ipsum prefabricated placeholder content and overwrite my work.
I can mitigate this by unchecking a box but it won’t allow me to use my content.
When I push up (put) my content, it appears to transfer up
After a few seconds, the files on the server are zroed out (zero byte size).
My content is not on the web server.
What I have not tried but will do next:
Create a New Business Catalyst Test site in Dreamweaver.
Allow Dreamweaver to download the site content.
Strip out all of the prefabricated junk.
Build my content.
Push (put) it up.
See if it works.
This is a pain.

No of course you can, You build your site as you want and upload to BC. You just need to note that the sites will be only the web basic plan so limited features.

Get out of your head "Adobe hosting" it is Adobe business catalyst

If you have raw static html and css files etc in pages - this will work. This is the wrong way to build a site but you can do so if you want to.

Not true. Now there are templates you can use to build your sites. The other "template" term you will here are the templates you use in your site builds, pages and other elements use - Layout control - change once, update many.

The concept of creating content in Dreamweaver is not correct. You should be desining your site and then build it in Dreamweaver and then you manage the content using Business Catalyst.

I do not use DW to build my BC sites so not sure what is happening there. It shouldnt, sounds like your syncing not uploading files.

To remove the cross syncing for the web basic creative cloud sites for people in muse there is an option in Site settings you need to tick, I am guessing you need to do this too.

Hi,
If you’re not fixed your requirement with the Out of the box SharePoint place holders, you can create as many as you want as long as the ID doesn’t conflict. On the master page add the content place holder
<asp:ContentPlaceHolderid="CustomName" runat="server"></asp:ContentPlaceHolder> and add this to your page layout
<asp:Contentrunat="server" ContentPlaceHolderID="CustomName"></asp:Content>.
I suggest you provide your basic requirement for further research.
If you want to customize a master page, the Rajendra's method would be helpful.

Error while Creating Prestage Content File for Application in SCCM 2012

Hi All,
I am using SCCM 2012 SP1 on Win 2K8 SP R2 box. Database is SQL 2008 R2 SP1 CU6. I have trying to create Prestaged content for Applications for extracting pkgx files on DP's. I am getting the below error message for random applications(not for all applications
but for random applications).
Content that will be included into the prestaged content file (1):
Citrix Receiver 13.3.0.55
Export all dependencies: 'Yes'
Selected distribution points: 'MPSERVER.GS.WORLD.PRESS.COM'
Prestaged content file: 'G:\pkgxfiles\Application\Citrix Receiver 13.3.0.55.pkgx'
　Error: Distribution is currently in progress for selected packages: HM0000D9. Please wait and try again
But if I see this application is successfully distributed to 2 of the distributions points long ago. If I reupdate the Distribution point and then again try to create prestaged content for this application then pkgx file for that application is getting
created.
Why this is happening and how can I resolve this?

Please refer to the Oracle® Business Intelligence Applications - Installation Guide for Informatica PowerCenter Users, especially to chapter +4.4.1 Create Databases for Oracle BI Applications and Informatica PowerCenter Components+
Quoting:
Make sure that the Oracle Business Analytics Warehouse instance is granted the SSE_ROLE. For more information, see Section 4.4.1.1, "How to Create the SSE Role."
This role would typically get more privileges than just CONNECT and RESOURCE.

FRM-13002 : Stacked and Tab Canvas must be created within Content Canvas

Hi,
I have a Tab Canvas with 2 pages on it.
In one of the pages the data to be displayed will be
out of the region(size or length) of that page.
I read in this forum for the same problem, the
member had suggested to use a Stacked Canvas on that
Tab page alone and enable the scrollbars of the stacked canvas.
When I drag and drop a stacked canvas on a tab page
of the tab canvas I get the following error:
FRM-13002 : Stacked and Tab Canvas must be created
within content canvas.
Any help is appreciated.

I am breaking my head over this.
I am still unable to solve this issue.
========The Requirement is as follows :===========
When I select a Tab Page of a Tab canvas, I get a
combo box with items in it. When I select an item from
the combo box, based on the item selected, I am
retrieveing the data from the database and displaying
it in that Tab Page itself. This data is in a matrix
format. i,e Has a number of rows and columns.
Without a Horizontal and a Vertical Toolbar attached
to the Tab Page I would be unable to view all the records
that are displayed on that Tab Page.
Any suggestions or examples is most welcome and
appreciated.
NOTE : ALso in what situations can we use a stacked
canvas, if the designer does not allow me to
use it with other canvases?.

Unable to Create a Content Repository Connection using 'socketssl'

I'm trying to create a Content Repository Connection with RIDC Socket Type as "socketssl".
I am not able to create the connection. The following are the parameters mentioned in Jdeveloper

You need to supply the "Key Store Location", "Key Store Password", "Private Key Alias" and "Private Key Password' to use socketssl.
Also please make sure that the content server has enabled "Use SSL". You can configure it using the enterprise manager.

Hi,
According to your description, my understanding is that you want to select the specific content type in new item form.
This is a default behavior. The "Add new item" link uses the default content type and does not display a dropdown list to change that value. This behavior is hard coded into the control and can't be changed.

- Define default values to certain metadata
- Make metadata editable, hidden, info only etc
- Allow the user to see only relevant metadata, for example you could have 50 metadata defined, but all you need for the user to input is 10 for say HR documents, you can show only these 10 metadata for the user to contribute

Problem while creating Oracle Content Server Identity plug-in in SES

Hi,
I am Integrating Oracle SES with UCM.Both UCM and Oracle SES are installed on the same machine.
I have installed SESCrawlerExport compoent on UCM and also taken Snapshot of Repository.
But when i am trying to create Oracle Content server Identity plug-in in SES it gives following exception.
Inputs:-
1) HTTP endpoint for authentication- http://localhost:100/idc_new/idc
2) Admin User - sysadmin
3) Password - idc

If the error message is correct, it means that no listener is running on port 100.
Where did you get the URL http://localhost:100/idc_new/idc ?
Is UCM using port 100 as it's standard port?
What happens if you try to open this in a browser (running on the localhost machine)?

Creating a Content Crawler under Share Point Console in ALUI

Hi All
I am getting an unauthorised access when i try to create a content crawler within a ALUI. The URL is
https://ts3apa.accenture.com/sites/IDC%20ITP/itp/itp/default.aspx
How ever when i try with a normal browser i do have access to the same.
The above URL when i cut it to https://ts3apa.accenture.com with the option of depth of crawl to the selected site only it was working out fine from ALUI content crawler.

is the user configured for the crawler is added to 'Log on as a batch job' and 'Log on as a service' policies.

Hi siva,
i found error that my table contains all shapes as "optimized" rectangles and it looks like create feature function does not support optimized rectangle.
i fixed using sdo_intersection
