SQ01 and SQ02 transaction documentation

Hi All,
Is there any documentation on transactions SQ01 and SQ02 available any where so as to manipulate those two transactions effectively to get adhoc reports.

Hi,
SQ01 : is used to create Query form infoset you have created here you can select fields for selection screen and for list generation using check boxes.
you can generated different types of report using basic list, ranked list, statistics to output in graphical form.
SQ02 : is used to create infoset you need to tell the data source for your infoset like table join, direct read or data reterival using program, you can also put extras fields, structures and tables using extras button. and can code your own select query for that field or structure.
After generating the infoset you have to assign this to your usergroup you already created.

Using View Tables in SQ01 and SQ02, getting 'Not Authorized to Read Table'

We are trying to use a SAP Standard View Table (CAUFV) in an SQ01 and SQ02 transaction. Even though there is no Authorization Group assigned to the View we still get "You have no authorization to read table caufv' when running the linked transaction. We tried assigning the CA and KA authorization groups to the role and got the same results. (The tables used to create the View are AFKO and AUKF and thier Authorization groups are CA and KA.) We tried other views and received the same results. Does anyone have any experience with this?

There are 2 ways to restrict this
1: The user should be a part of at least one user group to run the corresponding ABAP query. This automatically restricts the access of the user to specific functional areas, and thus the corresponding underlying logical databases.
2: The authorization object S_QUERY should be used to give proper authorizations to the user for a query. This authorization object has a field named ACTVT, which can take values 02 for Change, 23 for Maintain and 67 for Translate.
This value determines whether the user can create and modify the query. The possible authorizations in the object are as follows:
S_QUERY_ALL Change, maintain and translate query
S_QUERY_UPD Change and Translate

SQ01 create query / transaction

Hi,
I have created a query in SQ01, and the output report should be linked to a given transaction code. This works ok in developmentsystem, but I cannot create the transaction code for the output report in the testsystem.
I have tried to transport the transaction code, from the developmentsystem-->test, but the transport fails with error code 8.
Anyone know how to solve this, so that I can link the report to a transaction?

Hi,
You cannot transport the queries directly ;
ABAP Queries can be transported to different clients by the following two ways:
1)     By using the standard program u2018RSAQR3TRu2019
2)     By using the transport option available on the application bar in Transactions SQ02 or SQ03.
The transports are to be made in the following order:
1.     User Group transport
2.     Infoset transport
3.     Infoset and Query transport
4.     Queries transport
The transports are to be made in the specified order. The User Group is to be transported first, followed by the Infoset and then the Queries

Convert queries (SQ01) to Z-transaction - the easy way

We have a lot of queries developed in SQ01 and want to convert many of these into z-transactions.
What is the best and easiest way of doing. One requirement is that whenever we need to change anything in the quereis (SQ01, SQ02 etc) - we should still keep the same z-transaction. Is this possible?

SQ01 and SE93

Trying to add a bespoke transaction code to a query I have created via SQ01. I ran the query and got the code behind it from System->Status. I then added the program name and screen 1000 to the transaction. The quesry and the transaction were then transaported into the QAS box. When I run the transaction in QAS I get a run time error where it says a field-symbol has not been assigned. The field-symbol is assigned in the initialisation block of the program. Have I done something wrong when assigning the query to the transaction code as when I run the query in QAS vie SQ01 all runs fine.

You must be missing something
1- Go to SQ01 select query name and then go to
Query ->more functions - > gen.program
2- Do you have any default variant define in Query ( SQ01 )?
if yes , also give it in Tcode in SE93 . If you dont have as a test create a var and assign it in your t-code and see .
Only thing I can think of theres some discrepancy in Query .

created in SQ02 transaction using table joins.

Yes, in order to see the code, you have to create a query over that infoset via SQ01. Once you have created the query, on the first screen of SQ01, click Query, More Functions, Display Report Name. Copy/paste this report name into SE38 transaction. Now you can view the code.

the transaction code with 'N' are created with help of object concept.
In your case ME22 is obsolete one and ME22N is the tcode created with object concept.

Status used in open and completed transactions in Fact Sheet

Hi! I would like to confirm the logics used in the fact sheet to display open and completed transactions. I read on the help that for open (for example) transactions, system is using status 'open' and 'in process'. This seems to me like system status. However, when I ran the fact sheet, the control is more at the user status level. So, I need clarification on this. Also, where can I find the status and transaction logics used for the extraction of these transactions (e.g. what transaction types are used)? I could not find the codings in the method GET_REPORT under class CL_CRM_CCKPT_PROCESS_CLOSED for example. Perhaps I have looked in the wrong place?
Appreciate any help on the above.

Session
Session method supports both small amount of data aswell as large amount of data
2) data processing is asynchronus and data updation is synchronus.
3) it process multiple apllication while perfomaning validations.
4) in session method data will be updated in data base only after processing session only.
5) system provide by default logfile for handling error records.
6) it supports both foreground aswell as background process
in bdc we use FM ... bdc_open_group " for creating Session
bdc_insert " adding transaction and bdcdata table for updating database
bdc_close_group " for closing Session
Call Transaction
Call transaction exclusively for small amout of data
2) it supports only one apllication while perfoming validations
3) there is no default logfile, We can explicitly provide logic for creating logfile for handling error records.
we can create logfile by using structure....BDCMSGCOLL
4) it doesn't support background processing.
5) data processing is synchronous and Data updation is Synchronous( default), in
this method also supports daya updation in asynchronus process also.
Syntax:
Call transaction <transaction-name> using BDCDATA

All user transactions are commited or rollbacked because the DBA_2PC_PENDING is empty: SQL> select * from SYS.DBA_2PC_PENDING;

This problem occures regulary after any 2PC transaction has been rolledback. The next request causes this exception. Sometimes it appears after commit too, but I am able to reproduce it within ten or twenty requests.
Has anybody had simillar problem?

The problem is in Oracle Spatial.
Oracle database don't support Temporary tables and XA transactions together. Oracle Spatial uses temporary tables.
Possible solution (I am using)
One database connection(nonXA) to read data and one connection(XA) to insedt/update/delete data including spatial data.

How to use DataSource and External transaction in 9ias?

I'm working on a project that the application server needs to connect to over 100 databases.
I'd like to use connection pooling and external transaction service defined in OC4J's Datasources.
I wonder if anyone has an example of using datasource and external transaction service for OC4J.
Right now, I export toplink project to a java source and do the initialization there manually but I don't know how to use Datasource to get connections and how to use the external transaction service in the java code for OC4J.

How can I configure a party such that this party can submit both 4010 and 5010 transaction?

I try to configure a party such that this party can submit both 4010 and 5010 transactions.
I encounter error related to ISA11 field.
When I submit a 4010 transaction, I need to uncheck the 'Use ISA11 as repetition separator' box in the X12 Interchange Processing Properties page of the party.  If not I will encounter error if the character 'U' in ISA11 appears as content inside
the transaction.
On the other hand, if I submit a 5010 transaction and left the 'Use ISA11 as repetition separator' box uncheck, I will encounter the following error:
Error: 2 (Field level error)
     SegmentID: ISA
     Position in TS: 1
     Data Element ID: ISA11
     Position in Segment: 11
     Data Value: ^
    7: Invalid code value.
The character in ISA11 in 5010 transaction is '^'.
Is there any setting or trick I can use such that I don't have to adjust the 'Use ISA11 as repetition separator' box everytime a different version of EDI is submitted by the party.

Hi,
    The problem you are describing is not because of Version of the document but actually it is because of different kind of ISA11s you are using for one party. It can happen with the same verion document as well.
So for solving it You can right a pipline component and put it before edi-receive pipeline component. In this pipline component you can search ISA11 and replace with 'U' if you do not want to use it.
But I think the problem will come further becauase if you have '^' in ISA11 then most probably you would be using it in document as repetition separator. So please check if you are not using '^' in the doc and then apply this pipeline component.

Why REUSE_ALV_GRID_DISPLAY and CALL TRANSACTION after called then I click the back button to return to the calling program but it automatic return to the source code? (it hasn't saves the data in alv grid )
In another case of this program, after automatic return to the source code then I have to waiting for 5-10 mins for execute again cuz if immediately execute the program don't fill any data to the alv grid.
I have problem with a simple source code like this
