SQ01 - Query Reporting - Scheduling

How can SQ01 be scheduled for batch execution?  Is there a batch program which can be executed with the query name and variant?

Hi,
On SQ01, enter the query name and press execute. On the program selection screen, go to the menu System-> Status. Copy the program name from the window that comes up and put it on the scheduler (transaction: SM36).

    Hi Kanishka ,
    You can schedule the query by using Alert Management
    You have to set a alert based upon that query
    and have to set the frequency (may be Hours / Day / week / Months)
    on a specified Time .

  • Query to schedule my report

    Anybody provide me the query to schedule my report for last 2months.
    I have the date column in this format 20 mar 10(dd mmm yy).
    I want to execute my report from back 2nd month first day to last month last day
    Ex:if I schedule this repot on 3rd oct2010,report should execute it from aug 1st to sep 31.
    Anyone please provide me the query for my date format.?

    though you are telling schedule date.. that i can treat it as current date ..
    Because, report will be scheduled to specific date when it occurs.. and will become current date ..
    you should use combination of timestampAdd function with between operator to define range between

    this will explain how to get first day of month and last day of month in order to define date range for that report.

  • ABAP query to schedule through batch job

    i have requirement to schedule batch job for ABAP query report and download the report data to local drive throuh batch job.
    we have created ABAP query report, and this report should run through batch job and download the report data to local drive,,

    I have two topics to talk about:
    1st: in order to schedule a background job, try to do the following:
      - Go to transaction SQ01 and select your query
      - Check that you've already created a variant, containing the required selection data.
      - Instead of running in online, go to "Query > Execute > Exec.in background"
      - This will allow you to schedule the background job.
    2nd: it is NOT possible for a background job to download a file to a local PC.

  • How to copy existing query report into new query report in SQ00

    I want to add fields "company code" "'region" to existing  query report AQZZ/SAPQUERY/FKF1============
    (list of vendor address) for this i done as following:
    1.In SQ01  go to "EDIT->other user group" and i selected user group as /SAPQUERY/FK
    2.I typed F1 in query field and click change button
    3.I clicked next screen button and entered into "change query f1: select fields screen".here i clicked "basic list" button and searched company code checkbox and saved it as result company code is appearing in the standard report"AQZZ/SAPQUERY/FKF1============"
    but unfortunately there is no region field(LFA1-REGIO) for this i think i should copy the existing  query report  into new query report(Ex:Z_LIST_OF_VEND) which should be 14 characters.please tell me briefly how to do this because this is first time i am using SQ00.
    one more issue is when i selected "edit-otheruser group" and choosing /SAPQUERY/FK  i  am getting only infoset "/SAPQUERY/FIKD" but i should need Info set: "/SAPQUERY/FIDD" please tell me how to add the previous one into user group.i think if i got /SAPQUERY/FIDD into usergroup  /SAPQUERY/FK i can add region also into Query report as i mentioned above by going SQ01 ...............................
    please help regarding this which should be very beneficiary to my carrier.

  • Alignment and restriction of Custom field in SAP query report

    Hi Experts,
    I have one custom field in query report(SQ01) called Amount in local currency which is calculated based on Amount in document currecy * exchange rate.
    But this field values are coming in left alignment instead of right alignment so how i should get in right alignment and second issue is how i can restrict field value to only 2 decimals.
    I tried the below link "http://media.techtarget.com/searchSAP/downloads/SAP_Query_C7.pdf" but the steps they mentioned are not appearing in SQ01 for example in that link they mentioned to click Basic List option for advanced steps but when i click i goes directly to field list with field groups on left pane
    Please provide solution for this.

    Hello narasimha,
    In the Infoset when you create the additional field, enter an existing SAP table field that has type CURR in the parameter labeled LIKE Reference.  For example you can enter BSAK-DMBTR as a value. When you select the additional field in the query, the currency will also show.

  • Transaction code for SAP query reports

    Hi All,
    I am trying to create transaction code for sap query report but couldn't go further.
    1) Created User group in SQ03
    2) Created infoset in SQ03 and assigned that to the user group
    3) Created query in SQ01 using the infoset.
    I executed the report in SQ01 and it is working fine.
    Now I try to create a transaction code in SE93 using the steps mentioned in the following link:
    Assign transaction code to SAP Query (created via SQ01)
    But when try to execute the report using the transaction code, it is giving error message 'User group xxxxxx is not yet created'
    Could any one advice me if I miss something? Or please help me to create this transaction code and transport to production?

    based on the thread you've already mentioned:
    In SE93, Create a Paramter Transaction
    -> Transaction = Start_report
    -> In default values, give the below details:
    D_SREPOVARI-REPORTTYPE = AQ
    D_SREPOVARI-EXTDREPORT = Name of the Query
    D_SREPOVARI-REPORT = User Group
    So check if the user group is typed correct in SE93 and check also if the user group exits in the system where you are trying to run the transaction.

  • Automating ADHOC query reports to generate Emails

    Hi Experts
    Hope you guys are doing fine.
    I have a requirement where we need to automate the ADHOC query reports to trigger emails with the Excel attachment of the report to a set of users.
    To explain in detail,we have some adhoc queries which are run manually on monthly basis(by our functional guys).Once the output report is generated,they used to download them into Excel document and send that to a set of users as an email attachment.
    Now we are planning to automate the entire process,so that these query reports once set to run on monthly basis should trigger emails to set of users with the excel attachment.
    Now,i am looking for solution on how to proceed on this.Since the program behind the query(which starts with AQ*) is not be a modifiable program,i can write any custom code here.Alternately,i planned to set a background job which runs the query and then use a  custom pgm which reads the spool no for the pgm and then to read the data from the spool into an internal table and then use a FM to send the internal table data as an email attachment.But wasn't sure of what FM's to use to read the spool no. and data from the spool.
    Is there any alternate way to work on this or any suggestions on my assumed process would be really appreciated.

    Ok, here's what you do:
    - Go to T/C: SQ01 and find your query
    - From the menu at the top select Query>More functions>Display Report Name (copy the report name)
    - Go to Transaction SO23 and create a new shared distribution list - give it a name and title, click the dropdown on folder and click the create folder button, give the folder a name and save/green tick.
    - Click on the Dist. list content tab and enter all the external email addresses that the report should go to ( the recipient type should be internet address or via internet or something like that)
    - Go to Transaction SM36 and click on the Job wizard button, go through the wizard entering the program name we copied earlier. In the print parameters section make sure it is set to print immediately, then on the spool list recipients button select the dropdown box, select distributions lists and find the one you created earlier. Define the variants, periods, time etc etc
    - When the job runs it will process the output via SAPConnect (transaction SCOT) you will be able to see the status of the emails by going to transaction SCOT and selecting the menu option Utilities>Overview send requests.
    Job Done, Chillax
    PS: remember the output type of the query in SQ01 needs to be set to excel or whatever you require otherwise a PDF/html attachment will be created in the email.
    PPS: If SAPConnect is not set up in your system speak to your basis guy to set it up - If you don't have any basis resource, it is really easy to set up, plenty of guides around.

    The SAP Query comprises five components: Queries, InfoSet Query, InfoSets, User Groups and Translation/Query.

    1. T.Code SQ03 - Select Environment – Select Standard Area - Enter -- If new user group is to be created, enter name of the user group, click on create and enter necessary information and exit after saving
    2. T.Code SQ02 - Enter name of the Infoset – Create – enter name of Infoset
    3. T.Code SQ03 - Select user group
    Infoset - Enter name of newly created Infoset
    Assign users and Infosets - Assign infosets
    After creating a query use SQ01 & run.

  • Steps to save a Query/Report as Excel file in Share folder

    I have a requirement where i need to schedule a BI report automatically on a daily basis and save it in a Sharepoint folder as a excel file.  I have gone through the Forums but didnt get a clear idea on how to proceed this with.  I read about RSCRM_BAPI transaction but i hope we need to do this manually to save the file each time.  Also, in Broadcaster there are options only to send Email & save in Portal. 
    So, if anybody have idea on saving a Query/Report as excel file in a Share folder automatically, kindly help me in suggesting the steps to do this activity.

    1. Create Three Floders in AL11 i.e. in Apllication Server. Eg Name it F1, F2 and F3.
    2. First dump the .csv files into F1. (Name xyz.csv).
    3. Then using UNIX/WINDOWS (depends on your OS) script , first check the file is there are not in F1, if yes then rename the file with date and time or date and transfer the files from F1 to F2 i.e xyz06032010.csv.
    4. Then Create a small ABAP program to check the file in F2, if it is there then Trigger the Event, and using that event you execute teh PC.
    5. Then using UNIX/WINDOWS (depends on your OS) script , transfer the files from F2 to F3 i.e xyz06032010.csv
    6. Next day morning F1 and F2 are empty and F3 is having the backup files.
    So use this method, I used the similar logic and it is working fine.
    Timinings are importent i.e what time you need to dump the fule in F1 and what time you need to run UNIX/WINDOWS (depends on your OS) script , transfer the files from F1 to F2 and what time UNIX/WINDOWS (depends on your OS) script , transfer the files from F2 to F3.
    OR
    1. Create Two Floders in AL11 i.e. in Apllication Server. Eg Name it F1 and F2
    2. First dump the .csv files into F1. (Name xyz.csv)
    3. Then load the data using InfoPackage, through PC.
    4. At the end of the load Attach a simple Program to Move the xyz.csv file from F1 to F2.
    5. So next day the file will come to F1 and the it will load and at the end it will move to F2.
    Else  you can use simple one or two lines of UNIX/WINDOWS (depends on your OS) script to move the file from F1 to F2 , once you load is over.
    While moving the file from F1 to F2 you can append the date at the end of the file and then move to F2, it is use full for future reference.

  • Output of SQ01 Query to a file in background

    Hello,
           I have created a SQ01 query for a certain specific outpur from my SAP system. I need to get the output of this query to a file. While i have tried executing this report from the frontend; it works smoothly, and based on the variant it creates the output and writes to a file at a remote location. But while i am trying to process the same query using background job, it creates a spool request and doesnt export the data to a file.
           Can someone please help me in getting me right in case i am doing anything wrong.

    Hi,
    SAP have created a standard program RSTXPDFT4 to convert your Sapscripts spools into a PDF format.
    Specify the spool number and you will be able to download the sapscripts spool into your local harddisk.
    It look exactly like what you see during a spool display.
    Please note that it is not restricted to sapsciprts spool only.  Any reports in the spool can be converted using the program 'RSTXPDFT4'.

  • Running query report times out

    All,
    At my customer we have a BW3.1 system.
    When running a query using ta rsrt it times out after 1 hour. The query/report should be done in 5 minutes but somehow it gets stuck.
    With an SQL trace we see no queries and in the Dialog work process we do not see any update on new records being read.
    When its started it starts building/reading a temporary table: BI0/03010 but its get stuck and times out eventually.
    We also ran the drop temp tables job and rerun the query, however this does not help.
    Does anyone have any ideas where to look?

    Run ti through RSRT in debug mode and display the SQL run schedule - then go and look at the query execution path
    If your cube is partioned try and make sure you get the partioning object into the where clause (ie 0fiscper or 0calmonth) - if you cant get it on a selection screen - try and derive it in a cmod in a filter
    Next - check that the database stats are current for the entries in the query
    Go to the query exection path and click on the tables - they will give you the last statistics date
    Updating the db stats can have a dramatic effect on the order you see in the query execution path
    The temp table is probably a hierarchy build - these are a nightmare for large hierarchies - but go with the other things first

  • Including MANDT field in ABAP Query Report as output field

    Hi All,
    I need to display the client(MANDT) field in the ABAP Query Report as an output field.
    But in SQ01 where we select the fields to be displayed as output in query , this field is not visible.
    I later checked in the Infoset. Even in the infoset the field MANDT is greyed out and all other fields are active.
    Can someone tell me how to include the field MANDT in the output of the ABAP Query Report.
