0001-4-item002-batchB2
thanks in advanced

Hi,
I'm not sure I understand what you want...
Is it only a row number in your query result ?
If so, it's realy easy with Oracle (you can use rownum() ), a little harder with SQL 2005, but a lot more hard on SQL Server 2000.
Could you give us your query ?

• ALV_GRID How to get number of lines after filted applyed?

Hi, all!
The task is to display title in alv_grid like
"N records selected (X records on the screen)".
It means, N records in dataset and X records displayed after  filter applyed by user.
But i can't get number of lines after filter applyed from the alv_grid.
Can anybody help me?
Thanks & regards,
Konstantin

Hi,
If it goes through PBO/PAI cycle after user sets the filter then in your PBO call method get_filtered_entries of CL_GUI_ALV_GRID and then do a describe statement on the table.
Number of entries in your grid table - number of entries in this filtered entries table will give you the displayed entries after the filter is set.
If it does not go through PBO/PAI cycle then register for after_user_command and I think the fcode for filter is '&FILTER' and code for the above logic in your handler method..
Hope this helps..

• Effiecient method to get number of lines in a JEditorPane

My Computer Science class has a major grade project to complete by Dec. 15. For my project I've decided to make a tabbed Java IDE with save, open, compile, run, and some font options. Due to the need to make Java use the command prompt to compile and run, it will be Windows specific.
Now, next to my JEditorPane I want to put a JPanel with a GridLayout full of JLabels that will hold the line numbers. I'm having a small problem getting the precise number of lines though. Due to the nature of JEditorPane, I can't just count the number of newline characters in the JEditorPane. I've tried to use a Scanner to go through the text and find all instances of the string "<p style=\"margin-top: 0\">" but because the JEditorPane doesn't make a new <p> tag until text is entered into a new line, this only works some of the time.
Does anyone know of a way I can effectively and efficiently find the number of lines in the JEditorPane at any given time?

Swing related questions should be posted in the Swing forum.
Normally for a text editor you would use a JTextArea for simple text or a JTextPane if you plan on doing syntax highlighting. JEditorPane is typically used to display HTML files.
If you search the Swing forum using "utextcomponent" you will find my class that has methods that might be handy for what you want.

• How to get number of lines entered in detail block

Hi ,
Below is my requirement, I am calling custom form from standard RCV transactions form.
Below are parameters : PO NUMBER, RCPT NUM, QTY. These values will be passed from standard form to custom form and these values will be stored at header level in my custom form.
Based on the Quantity, I have to validate my detail block. For eg. If my quantiry is 10, my detail block items should not less or greater than 10.
Can any one please suggest me how to achieve this. I tried SYSTEM.TRIGGER current record etc,. I am getting below issue. If I place my cursor on any other record rather than last record it is throwing error. SO any experts please help here.
Thanks,

You can use a calulated item of type summary for this. set the following propertie for a newly created item in your detail block
-Summary type=Summary
-Summary function=Count
-Summarized block=your detail block
-summarized item=any Required item in your detail block
Now you can check the number of records with that item.

}

Iterate through the lines and count the opening and closing curly braces. Whenever you see an opening one, increase the counter, when you see a closing one, decrease the counter. When the counter hits 0 again, you reached the end of the method.
I assume you know how to count lines while moving through a text line by line.

Do you want 'xyz' in the output, or do you want a number like 42 (2 hours * 6 weekdays in March 2011, plus 5 hpours * 6 weekdays = 12 + 30 = 42)?
If you want 42, then post 42. Spend 5 minutes (if it comes to that much) with a calendar and a calculator to get the exact results you want.

is much better,
in that case i want it as a view, so that i can get further details from the view....Substituting your table and column names, into the query I posted earlier and replacing COUNT (*) with SUM (no_of_hours), the query is

          1236 August 2012                                        14Aside from pivoting, is that what you want?
i edited the your query,
WITH     all_dates     AS
         SELECT     start_date + LEVEL - 1     AS a_date
         FROM     (
                   SELECT     TO_DATE ((select startdate from class_dets where stud_id=1236), 'DD/MM/YYYY')     AS start_date
                   ,     TO_DATE ((select enddate from class_dets where stud_id=1236), 'DD/MM/YYYY')     AS end_dateInstead of the 2 lines above, the query I posted had
SELECT  MAX (enddate - startdate)     AS days_in_rangeWhy did you make that change?
The first argument to TO_DATE is supposed to be a string. You're calling TO_DATE with this as the first argument
(select startdate from class_dets where stud_id=1236)which is a DATE, not a string.
                   FROM     dual
         CONNECT BY     LEVEL     <= end_date + 1 - start_date
SELECT     TO_CHAR ( TRUNC (a_date, 'MONTH')
              , 'fmMonth YYYY'
              )               AS month
,     COUNT (*) * (select fee from class_dets where stud_id=1236) * (select no_of_hours from class_dets where stud_id=1236)               AS amount
FROM     all_dates
WHERE     a_date - TRUNC (a_date, 'IW')     < 5
GROUP BY TRUNC (a_date, 'MONTH')
ORDER BY TRUNC (a_date, 'MONTH')
it works very well, but instead of specifying stud_id as 1236,
but when i say,
WITH     all_dates     AS
         SELECT     start_date + LEVEL - 1     AS a_date
         FROM     (
                   SELECT     TO_DATE ((select startdate from class_dets where stud_id=cd.stu_id), 'DD/MM/YYYY')     AS start_date
                   ,     TO_DATE ((select enddate from class_dets where stud_id=cd.stud_id), 'DD/MM/YYYY')     AS end_date
                   FROM     dual
         CONNECT BY     LEVEL     <= end_date + 1 - start_date
SELECT     cd.stud_id,TO_CHAR ( TRUNC (a_date, 'MONTH')
              , 'fmMonth YYYY'
              )               AS month
, count(*)
,     COUNT (*) * (select fee from class_dets where stud_id=1236) * (select no_of_hours from class_dets where stud_id=1236)               AS amount
FROM     all_dates,class_dets cd
WHERE     a_date - TRUNC (a_date, 'IW')     < 5
GROUP BY TRUNC (a_date, 'MONTH'),cd.stud_id
ORDER BY TRUNC (a_date, 'MONTH'),cd.stud_id
i get error
                   SELECT     TO_DATE ((select startdate from class_dets where stud_id=cd.stu_id), 'DD/MM/YYYY')     AS start_date
ERROR at line 6:

what should i do?
(sorry about the query format...how display query in a formatted way? )This site noramlly compresses whitespace.
Whenever you post formatted text (including, but not limited to, code) on this site, type these 6 characters:
\(small letters only, inside curly brackets) before and after each section of formatted text, to preserve spacing. • Invoice Reference Number in Line item of Credit Memo

Hi Experts
I tried getting a specific and relevant answer to why we enter "V" in invoice reference field of a Credit Memo?
On going through the SAP Help text - A special rule applies to credit memos which have a "V" in this field. The due date is determined in the same way as for an invoice. If the field is empty (containing neither a document number nor a "V") the due date is the baseline date for payment.
I understand this relates the credit memo to an invoice but how SAP determines the invoice from which it will pull the payment terms for this credit memo?
Is this V concept applicable only in case of MIRO Invoices or otherwise too?
Thanks in advance.

Arjun,
We have 3 ways of credit memo use for REBZG field:
1 - REBZG = Invoice -> You credit document will fetch payment term, payment method and due date from invoice.
2 - REBZG = "V" -> The credit document works as individual invoice. The due date is calculated by Bseline date + Payment terms.
3 - REBZG = " " -> The credit memo is opened to be used in any other invoice as discount. Baseline date is the due date as default.
Your questions:
* There are no reference for invoices in cases number 2 and 3.
* This is apliccable for invoices from all transactions.

• BI: SQL Query to get unpublished timesheet line status

For Project Server 2010
I am trying to write a query that will pull data similiar to the Timesheet History where it includes published and unpublished lines.  This is the history over all approvers/assignment owners.
I have been able to create most of this data, but NOT the published/unpublished specifically.  I want to create exactly what you would see in the PWA timesheet approval history (Mock-up seen below).
This is a critical issue for me, so any help would be greatly appreciated!!
NashParrot

Hi NashParrot,
I might be wrong but the Published/Unpublished information is not part of the Reporting database. All the data found in the reporting database is the published one. So your solutions would be: PSI and/or the (not supported) query of the draft/published databases
Hope this helps

• How can I get Number of Lines from internal table?

Hello at all,
i have in my Report a internal Table, which have many KUNNR.
For example the internal Table:
MANDT.......KUNNR......NAME.........FIRSTNAME........CITY
...040..........12345.........Owen............Michael........Liverpool
...040..........12345.........Owen............Michael........Liverpool
...040..........99999.......Johnson.......... Jeffrey........London
...040..........12345.........Owen............Michael........Liverpool
...040..........55555.......Hardley.......... Kingston.......Birmingham
I want to know, how many same KUNNR are existing in the internal Table?
In my example i need the result 3, because their is existing 3 times the Kunnr 12345 in the internal Table.
Have anyone an idea, how can I resolve this problem?
Edited by: Thomas Zloch on Jun 21, 2010 2:55 PM - one question mark at a time is sufficient

Hi,
1.Create two internal tables of same type and sort according to Kunnr then Delete the
adjusent duplicates by comparing KUNNR
2.Sort the table by KUNNR and use ON change of Concept in that Just increment the counter.
I am writing the sample logic here.
tables kna1.
data: t_kna1 type table of kna1,
             w_kunnr type kna1-kunnr,
             counter type i," Holds No.of KUNNRs in the T_kna1
             t_kna2 type table of kna1.
select * from kna1 into table kna1 up to 100 rows.
t_kna2[] = t_kna1[].
delete t_kna2 by kunnr.
delete adjusent duplicates from t_kna2 by comparing kunnr."1st Method
read table t_kna2 transporting no-fields.
counter = sy-tfill."1st Method
loop at t_kna1 into kna1."2nd Method
at first.
w_kunnr = kna1-kunnr .
counter = 1.
endat.
if w_kunnr ne kna1-kunnr.
counter = counter + 1.
endif.
endloop.
Note : Here I used a sample table KNA1 in this there are no Duplicates of KUNNR .

• How to spool the result of an query into a file in sql 2000

Hi All,
I have an SQL query which iterates through number of times for checking on some conditions and will return results each time. I wants to save the results into an different xml file each time. I tried using below query:
exec xp_cmdshell 'bcp "use Mimsadaptorlogs; select top 10 * from log order by logdate" queryout "D:\cdr_cg.xml" -T -c -t,'  ---> Its not working as expected.
I got the Below output:
NULL
Starting copy...
SQLState = 01000, NativeError = 5701
Warning = [Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][SQL Server]Changed database context to 'MIMSAdaptorlogs'.
NULL
10 rows copied.
Network packet size (bytes): 4096
Clock Time (ms.): total       62
NULL
Could you anuone please suggest me on this.......
Thanks and Regards, Bala

You will need to write a client program to do this. SQL Server is not intended for writing files. People still do it by calling BCP through xp_cmdshell, but this is a dubious practice. Better is to write a CLR stored procedure for the task. However, you
are on SQL 2000, and the CLR support was added in SQL 2005. Furthermore, there is no XML type in SQL 2000, and the only way to generate XML is with the FOR XML clause. But this output is not well understood by BCP. Then I try: [code} bcp "SELECT * FROM Northwind..Customers
FOR XML RAW" queryout slask.bcp -c -T
on SQL 2000, I get
11 rows copied.
which is complete hogwash, because there are 91 rows in that table, and the output should be a single XML document, and the output looks like this:
<row
CustomerID="ALFKI"... Bouchers" City="Marseil... tomerID="DUMON" Company... 0.32.21.21" Fax="40.32.... los Hern ndez" ContactT... n Steel" ContactTitle="... e" ContactTitle="Market... ="Salzburg" PostalCode=... " Phone="(21) 555-3412"... ty="Charleroi" PostalCo...
<row CustomerID="WARTH"...
I have truncated the output on the right side, but the left side is authentic. It really is that bad.

• SQL*Loader: How to load multi-line report data?

Hi,
is it possible to use SQL*Loader to load data from a hierarchical structured fixed column ASCII file like this
001 scott
New York 01.01.2002 1234
Chicago 15.10.2001 9876
002 smith
Los Angeles 24.12.1999 5678
Washington 01.12.1999 0000
Chicago 01.01.2000 1111
into one database table:
id name city day code
001 scott New York 01.01.2002 1234
001 scott Chicago 15.10.2001 9876
002 smith Los Angeles 24.12.1999 5678
002 smith Washington 01.12.1999 0000
002 smith Chicago 01.01.2000 1111
The number of lines per name is unlimited, the next line starts after a separating ---- line.
We cannot change the format of the text file to import.
There is an example in the documentation that shows how to load a structure like the following via insert triggers:
001 scott New York 01.01.2002 1234
Chicago 15.10.2001 9876
002 smith Los Angeles 24.12.1999 5678
Washington 01.12.1999 0000
Chicago 01.01.2000 1111
But we have the name information on a separate header line, so I don't know if we can use a similar technique here.
regards
Sven

Try enclosing your strings with e.g. a double-quote. To do so, the control file needs the following (example):
LOAD DATA
REPLACE
INTO TABLE test
FIELDS TERMINATED BY '|' OPTIONALLY ENCLOSED BY '"'
TRAILING NULLCOLS
id1,
id2,
id3,
id4,
)of course this does mean that your data must change...

• Upgrade R/3 4.7 110 from SQL 2000 to ECC 6.0 /SQL 2005

Dear Experts,
We are currently running R/3 4.7 110 with kernel 640 32 Bit Non Unicode on Windows Server 2000/ MS SQL 2000 Platform. We are planning to Upgrade the same to ECC 6.0 on Windows 2003/ SQL 2005 on New x64 Bit Hardware.
I was earlier planning to Upgrade the OS/DB in first Phase moving the same R/3 4.7 on Windows 2003 Server /MS SQL 2005 and then Upgrade it to ECC 6.0 in second phase. But to my surprise when I checked PAM, I found that R/3 4.7 110 is not at all supported on SQL 2005 ( though R/3 4.6 C is)
Now shall I upgrade it to ECC6.0 First with Windows 2003/SQL 2000 ( Because ECC6.0 is supported with MS SQL 2000)and then move to MS SQL 2005 ?
Thanks
Jitendra Tayal

We had the same issue.
So I checked with SAP.
This was their reply.
'SAP R/3 4.7 Ext 110 is supported on SQL 2005. Please refer to the following notes for further information:'
Note 905634 - Release planning for Microsoft SQL Server 2005
Note 799058 - Setting Up Microsoft SQL Server 2005
Note 899111 - Installing R3 4.7SR1 (47X110) on x64 Windows Platform
Note 151603 - Copying an SQL Server database
So feel free to go ahead.

Thank you! Well that helped get them in line with each other the only problem is now for some reason the mission statement is to the left of the content information and the mission statement is supposed to be to the right. Sorry I am obviously a beginner and I'm sure its something simple but I have no idea what I'm doing wrong.
This is how I changed the style sheet:
#content {
              width:482px;
              float: right;
              padding-bottom:181px;
#mission {
              width:182px;
              color:#FFF;
              float:right;
Now it looks like this:

• Invoice Reference Number "V" + Blank Payment Terms field

Hi Experts
Need your validation on one point. I have credit memos with invoice reference number field filled with "V" but payment terms in document is blank.
Payment terms in Vendor Master Data is XXXX (Net due 30 days). But when I run the Payment Program within 30 days for this vendor, the credit memo is picked up and adjusted.
Is my understanding correct that it is because of the following reasons -
By putting V in invoice reference number, the system will overlook the payment terms mentioned in Vendor Master Data and follows whatever is mentioned in the document.
And because the payment term field is empty in the document, it is taking baseline date as payment due date and thus picks the document in F110 program.
Points will be rewarded to replies with explanations.
Regards
Arjun

Arjun,
please check my comments:
By putting V in invoice reference number, the system will overlook the payment terms mentioned in Vendor Master Data and follows whatever is mentioned in the document.
In all cases the document entry overlook the master data entry. The vendor works as default values during document entry.
And because the payment term field is empty in the document, it is taking baseline date as payment due date and thus picks the document in F110 program.
Don't change the document defaul entry if you want the vendor assignment. If it's blank you have to assign same Payment terms from you vendor otherwise you will have only the baseline date.
Best Regards
