SQL 2008 Overflowed an int but the value is..integer...

Hi guys, having
create table #rete (mpo int)
insert into rete (mpo) values ('2380001112857')
The conversion of the varchar value '2380001112857' overflowed an int column
Why? I'm inserting two million rows but I'm struck because this stupid issue. I don want put mpo as nvarchar because the tables I need to link later have mpo as int...
Any sugegstion. Thank you

Hello, I have a function in dll as void set(int * a){ (*a)=99;}
And I connect a int32 to the dll. But when I run the vi, the value of int32 does not change.

You connected a control to the DLL parameter. That means the value from the control is passed to the DLL, ... and finito! You need to connect an indicator to the right side of the DLL parameter to see the value returned from the DLL.

Linking two Queries but the values are corrupted

I have started linking two queries from the same Cube. The invoiced value from the pre-query shows the correct value from SAP. When I use this prequery into another query and look at the same invoiced value key figure, the result has changed and is not correct anymore. Please advise what I am doing wrong.
Any help would be most appreciated.

Hi Bhanu, the replacement path is on the Dimension Sales Document. I have tried to use the same variable on the Key Figure Net Value (Invoice). I also tried for a later attempt to use a different Key Figure in the prequery as net weight, just in case they added together.
Am I right that I should be using the same key figure Net Value (Invoice) in both queries?

Is it needed to convert the values frm text field to numeric for sql server

hi all,
i'm using tomvat4.0,back end sql server 200.
when i insert the values in to the table it is giving an exception sayin "Error in converting varchar to numeric"
is it necessary to convert those strings from text fields into int before passing them to the sql query..
i think it is not necessary for oracle..but not sure with sql server..

wen the database is lookin for a numeric it is giving null...which is not acceptable...
so inserted this code...

Filters 'OR' function not passing the values to the sql

Hi,
I am facing an issue with the 'OR' function on the filters that are used in the reports.
The report needs to fetch all the records on the three tables as the user enters the value in the dashboard prompts.
eg: [   update_dt_A1 is prompted
and user_name_A1 is prompted ]
or
[    update_dt_B1 is prompted
and user_name_B1 is prompted ]
or
[    update_dt_C1 is prompted
and user_name_C1 is prompted ]
The values entered in the dashboard prompt gets passed to the filter, but the vaules are not passed over to the SQL that runs on the database, hence the reports shows all values and does not reflect the values entered.
When the 'OR' function is replaced with 'AND' the values get passed to the SQL.
Can anyone help on what is the issue on the filters?

I have a windows 2008 R2 Enterprise servers with standalone MS-SQL 2008 R2 named instance. The server is having two networks, once production and the second for backup. The server FQDN is resolving to the production IP. The backup NIC
DNS dynamic update is disabled and an "A" record is registered with the dns. While trying to connect to the instance using the management studio:
Successfuly able to connect using the instance name, the production hostname, production IP and backup IP.
but while trying to connect to the insance using the backup hostname getting the below error:
"Login failed. The login is an untrusted domain and cannot be used with windows authentication. (Microsoft SQL server, Error: 18452) "
This is required for the backup tool to get connected using the backup FQDN of the server.
Should I need to create a host name alias, request you to kindly assist me with the best recommedation to fix this.

Where is the management Studio for SQL 2008 Express?

Can anyone point me to where I can download the management studio for SQL 2008 Express.
I've downloaded and installed SQL 2008 Express without problem but can't find the management studio.

I have been looking at my data at the position indicated by the function as a peak, and it is correct at that place the wave has its peak, but the value provided by the function is higher than the actual value at that point.

The help makes it clear that the VI will make a quadratic fit to the data, so the locations are not integers (i.e. not aligned with you exact data). From that analysis, the peak is between two of your points, and slightly above the neighboring data.
See the coercion dot. Make the "locations" array DBL (Why did you change it to I64, that makes no sense at all!)

Because the peak detection algorithm uses a quadratic fit to find the peaks, it actually interpolates between the data points. Therefore, the indexes are not integers. Job scheduling(passing the values to the child program)

when i'm trying to schedule a background job(using job_open job_submit and job_close) i'm passing the values of the selection screen(parent program) to my child program using set parameter id. And trying to get the values using get parameter id in the cild program.
But the values of the parent program are not being passed to the child program what may be the cause for it?

When you start an executable program, the standard selection screen normally appears, containing the selection criteria and parameters of both the logical database connected to the program and of the program itself (see Direct Execution - Reports). When you start an executable program using SUBMIT, there are various additions that you can use to fill the input fields on the selection screen:
SUBMIT... [VIA SELECTION-SCREEN]
[USING SELECTION-SET <var>]
[WITH <sel> <criterion>]
[WITH FREE SELECTIONS <freesel>]
[WITH SELECTION-TABLE <rspar>].
These options have the following effects:
VIA SELECTION-SCREEN
The selection screen of the called executable program (report) appears. If you transfer values to the program using one or more of the other options, the corresponding input fields in the selections screen are filled. The user can change these values. By default, the system does not display a selection screen after SUBMIT.
USING SELECTION-SET <var>
This option tells the system to start the called program with the variant <var>.
WITH <sel> <criterion>
Use this option to fill individual elements <sel> of the selection screen (selection tables and parameters). Use one of the elements <criterion>:
<op> <f> [SIGN <s>], for single value selection
If <sel> is a selection criterion, use <op> to fill the OPTION field, <f> to fill the LOW field, and <s> to fill the SIGN field of the selection table <sel> in the called program.
If <sel> is a parameter, you can use any operator for <op>. The parameter <sel> is always filled with <f>.
[NOT] BETWEEN <f1> AND <f2> [SIGN <s>], for interval selection
<f1> is transferred into the LOW field, <f2> into the HIGH field, and <s> into the SIGN field of the selection table <sel> in the called program. If you omit the NOT option, the system places the value BT into the OPTION field; if you use NOT, the system fills OPTION with NB.
IN <seltab>, transferring a selection table

WITH FREE SELECTION <freesel>, user dialog for dynamic selections
To use this option, the called program must be connected to a logical database that supports dynamic selections. In the calling program, use the function modules FREE_SELECTIONS_INIT and FREE_SELECTIONS_DIALOG. They allow the user to enter dynamic selections on a selection screen. One export parameter of these function modules has structure RSDS_TEXPR from the RSDS type group. Transfer the values of this export parameter by means of the internal table <freesel> of the same structure to the called report.
WITH SELECTION-TABLE <rspar>, dynamic transfer of values
You need an internal table <rspar> with the Dictionary structure RSPARAMS. The table then consists of the following six fields:
SELNAME (type C, length 8) for the name of the selection criterion or parameter
KIND (type C, length 1) for the selection type (S for selection criterion, P for parameter)
SIGN, OPTION, LOW, HIGH as in a normal selection table, except that LOW and HIGH both have type C and length 45.
This table can be filled dynamically in the calling program with all of the required values for the selection screen of the called program. If the name of a selection criterion appears more than once, the system creates a multiple-line selection table for that criterion in the called program. If the name of a parameter appears more than once, the system uses the last value. Note that LOW and HIGH have type C, so that the system executes type conversions to the criteria of the called program. This is important for date fields, for example. Before your program is used in a live context, you should check it using the VIA SELECTION-SCREEN addition.
Except for WITH SELECTION-TABLE, you can use any of the above options several times and in any combination within a SUBMIT statement. In particular, you can use the WITH <sel> option several times for one single criterion <sel>. In the called program, the system appends the corresponding lines to the selection tables used. For parameters, it uses the last value specified. The only combination possible for the WITH SELECTION-TABLE option is USING SELECTION-SET.
If the input fields on the selection screen are linked to SPA/GPA parameters, you can also use this technique to pass values to the selection screen (see Passing Data Between Programs).

Displaying the value of an variable on the stage

I have managed to display the values contained in string variables on stage, and I am happy with that, however when I wish to display the value of an int and convert it to a string as one is supposed to do the output to the stage just calls it [class int] and does not give its value. any suggestions?
My rogram contains a stage at frame 1 which displays a word. The user must input a word. Frame 30 then displays the word which was displayed and the word input by the user. That all works fine. But the value of the variable NumberRight, which has been assigned to that variable will only display as [class int] without showing its value. (even though I have converet it to a string using the .to string function you see below).
My code is as follows;

Hi Ned thanks for that. Yes I had accidently created blank spaces in the String() argument. (wanted to check if there was a subsequent difference in display and forgot to return them to normal ...Sorted )
Your next suggestion has eliminated the [class int] but I get a value now of 0.

many years ago I wrote this same program in Authorware using similar code. I am trying to re write it in FlashCS5 using ActionScript 3 and It take days to solve small problems. I notice also that If for example the user of the program makes an error and I record the error as NumberRight =NumberRight -1 the program records it as Total Correct = NaN .
I gave up on this a few months back but I am trying again. I think there must be a better way to do this. Variables do not seem to add up or subtract for me at present. no doubt its me thats got it wrong.

ColdFusion 9 Fails after SQL 2008 Cluster Failover

I have a ColdFusion 9 app server that seems to be failing when my SQL 2008 cluster fails over to the passive node. By failing, my IIS server does not respond to any .cfm requests about 4-5 minutes after the failover. It serves out static and .asp pages just fine. Restarting ColdFusion server service and rebooting the server itself does not fix the problem. The only fix is to fail the SQL cluster back to the original node.
Specs are as follows:
SQL - SQL 2008 SP1 64-bit active/passive cluster VM
CF - CF9 running on Windows 2008 SP2 64-bit VM

Problem solved. We had a linked server defined in SQL that pointed to an Oracle instance. We could successfully run the "Test Connection" in SQL Management Studio for the linked server when our SQL 2008 cluster was on node 1. However, we got an "OraOLEDBpus10.dll: The specified module could not be found" error message when trying to test the connection when the cluster was on node 2. The fix was to add the Oracle folder path to the Windows PATH environment variable on node 2. The Oracle installer is supposed to do this automatically, so we don't know why it was missing.
The reason CF would become unresponsive was that we had a template with a query that used the linked server. The purpose of this template was to monitor the status of the linked server. Using CF Server Monitor, we were able to see active requests to that template which would keep running and not terminate even though we set a timeout value in CF Admin.

Script- problem in printing the values in from internal table

I have a requiremnt that i for a particular document no there are number of invoices are there. i.e for a single document no there are 20 invoices in that. i shoudl display the invoice number , invoice date, invoice amount , number of days of intrest , start date of interest, end date of interest and intrest amount.
The problem is i should take the invoice number, invoice date, number of days from TABLE BSEG and inovice amount and start date, end date from table INTITIT. for a particular document number there are diffent invoce numbers in both the table.

'521' is the element name in the main window where i should display the values. before select qurey the values are coming in the bseg but not in table INTITIT. Belnr is the document no with ref to that
there are number of invoices nos. so in both the tables it is selecting single value and displaying but in bseg the invoice number is getting refreshed and new number is coming in that place i.e in field bseg-rebzg but in INTITIT in belnr only it is taking single value it is not getting refreshed.
 move-corresponding hbseg to bseg.

this is the syntax whr the values in bseg are getting refresh and new invoice number is selecting.
How to write the syntax for INTITIT? As per invoice number it is giving new values.
The invoice number in Bseg is different campare to in table INTITIT. in output is shoud show the fields as follows
it_besg-rebzg(invoice number of besg) it_besg-zuonr(invoice date) INTITIT-INT_BASAMT(base amount) i_day (no of days ) INTITIT-INT_BEGIN (INTREST START DATE) INTITIT-INT_end(INTREST END DATE) rf140-wrshb(INTREST AMOUNT).
THE VALUE OF IT_BESG-REBZG IS CHANGING BUT THE VALUE IN INTITIT-BELNR ( INVOICE NUMBER) IS NOT CHANGING THAT IS WHY IT IS SHOWING
ONLY SINGLE RECORD.
for both the table documet no is same. in besg-belnr is the document no. in intitit-BELNR_TO is the document no.
here in bseg-rebzg is chaning but in INTITIT-BELNR IS not changing.
If i take loop at INTITIT. ALL the values are repating so i am unable to take loop. so i want to write
a syntax such that intitit-belnr should be refreshed and also for every loop it shoud take new invoice no.
Please help me out it is very urgent.

assumption: some mistake in ur posting that, How belnr and date r same for both header records, so i guess, either one is different.
try with AT NEW - ENDAT.
AT NEW belnr.
here use looping, READing of ur itabs.---> so, u need to build couple of itabs to move forth and back.
ENDAT.
pls. note that, when u use this AT NEW all the CHAR fileds of itab wuld show as STARS **.....so, this is the necessity behind building new itabs.

Sql 2008 express not listening on port 1433

I installed sql 2008 express on 2008R2 but it is not listening on port 1433.
I check configuration for tcp and enabled that already. also started sql browser service.
any idea?

by default SQL Server Express does not enable Remote Connections.
Could you check the following:
1) check that the SQL Express is running (SQL Server Configuration Tool)
2) log onto the box containing the SQL Server and try to connect with SSMS to the SQL Express instance. Try tcp/ip and/or shared memory to connect.
if you can successfully login check that the SQL Server does allow Remote Connections
3) Firewall does not block incoming connections
4) does the DNS server name resolve to the correct ip address of the SQL Server ?
