SQL Command problem in Application Express 3.2.0.00.27

To Oracle Application Express Development Team,
Yesterday I installed Oracle Application Express 3.2.0.00.27.
While doing my r&d, I came across one problem in SQL Command.
For example I wanted to run sql "select * from tab"
When I checked "Autocommit" checkbox it worked fine.
But when I unchecked the "Autocommit" checkbox it gave me following error:
ORA-01003: no statement parsed
Please check post

Cheers

I can't find the log file (a good indication that something went wrong)

  • Problem with Application Express

    Good Morning,
I installed Oracle Application Express, but I have a problem with the first login and the creation of my workspace.
During login using the username 'admin' and pwd as the sys's user because until now the only pwd I configure when I installed Oracle Express 10g and Oracle Application Express.
When I go to login, the page seems not to take any command.
I look a your help. Thanks

Check out the {forum:id=137} forum you'll probably get better help there.
By the way, welcome to the forum! :)

  • Problem Accessing Application Express

    Hi All,
I have installed Oracle 11g and Apex 3.2.
After that I tried to access apex admin console using url: http://server:8080/apex/apex_admin
If I try to open the page with IE and when used id : admin and its password is entered and pressed login, an error "Object expected, code 0" is generated.
With Firefox I can see more detail error "doSubmit is not defined.
    Please help.
    Regards
    Rana

Hey I'm having the same problem, but I may be a little confused.
I had 11g installed with Apex 3.0 so I upgraded it to 3.2.1 by using the complete installation. So when the install guide says "Run apex_epg_config.sql passing the file system path to the base directory where the Oracle Application Express software was unzipped", I should point to the Oracle home location where my db is installed...right?
Assuming this is correct, I ran the script but the apex/images folder is still missing the apex_..._.js files mentioned before. All the image files are there but when I try to login nothing happens. Are those js files supposed to be there? Any ideas?

  • SQL Commands feature in Application

    Hi All,
Can i have sql commands type feature in my custom application? The requirement is users does not have access to TOAD or SQL Developer to query anything, so i want sql command type feature in my application.
If this can be done let me know ASAP.
The users wont be having access to developer tool as well.
    Appreciate your response.
    Regards,
    Prem N

    Hi Prem,
probably the easiest way to achieve this would be to give users access to Apex but only give them SQL Workshop Access as opposed to full developer access.
To build an adhoc query tool is probably re-inventing the wheel, and if not done properly can lead to serious security problems.
I'm not sure of your user requirements, but from my experience, users who ask for adhoc query ability rarely need it when you delve deeper into their requirements. First of all they usually don't have the skills to write anything more than the simplest queries so you find yourself writing a set of queries for them which they can then use. You then find yourself encapsulating these queries in a metadata layer as views and putting in as much effort as you would if you simply created a set of interactive reports, and put these in an application.
My suggestion is to look into the features of interactive reports and you may find these will give your users the flexibility they need.

  • Problems installing Application Express  - Help Please

    Hi
I have the personal edition of oracle and i have a database instance set up in entreprise manager. Now I'm trying to install application express to the database via SQL Plus. I run into two problems
    1. It says in the document that you need to log into SQL as SYS rather than SYSMAN, when I do log in as SYS i get the error message saying that I need to choose either SYSDBA or SYSOPER so I do rather than normal but I need a username/password to log in and I don't know what Username/password they are referring to. I tried a couple of usernames and passwords already and have been unsuccessful.
    2. So instead of logging in as SYS, I logged into the SQL Plus as SYSMAN. I load the apexin.sql file onto the SQL Plus and I push on execute. The it asks me to enter the 5 things, so i enter "password, SYSAUX, SYSAUX, temp, /i/" and i get the error message "SP2-0916: Scheme not supported"
I have tried several times already. I am working off a toshiba Satellite P200 and it is windows Vista. What am I do wrong please HELP!
    Carol

Hi there I'm still running into some trouble here
When I am logged into my Enterprise Manager as SYS on my laptop
I scroll to the bottom to open up iSQL plus and once I'm in, I get to the iSQL Plus Role Connection and there is 3 choices - 1) Normal 2) SYSOPER 3) SYSDBA
I can log into normal with SYSMAN but when i choose SYS, it tells me that I must choose either SYSOPER or SYSDBA
If I choose either of those, I get another login pop up saying that I need to log into the DBA system, but I don't know what username/password they are referring to. I tried logging into iSQL plus and tried executing sys/<sys password> as sysdba but it doesn't work. Please help!

  • PL/SQL Counter for HTMLDB - Application Express - Survey Counter

I wonder if somebody could help me to clarify the HowTo on this Survey.
    Based on:
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/database/application_express/index.html
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/oramag/oracle/06-mar/o26browser.html
I follow up however that is not exactly what I like to see in my Survey. I like to make something more elegant and flexible.
On this example he put 10 questions/ page. I like to use 1 Question / Page.
And I like to extend to more than 10 pages. for example 20.
My question to the forums is:
If I create an application with Only 3 pages [ Welcome, Survey, End ]
And the main page for the Survey is the second page.
How would programatically be the logic to:
Start the Welcome page => Setup variable counter = 1
Then using sessions with a button click on Start Survey.
Survey Page check for the existence of counter variable if exist retrieve the Question from the Questions table and the properly Answer will be recorded.
This answer could include comments, and the Rating could be an LOV.
After the Question 1 is asnwered then the Next Button on the Page 2 Call the same page 2. If the Questions is the max number of questions [20] then go to the End or Summary Page. if not just increase the counter variable then retrieve the next question.
Am I asking to much ???. I'm just starting on PL/SQL and HTMLDB I'm not sure how to manipulate those variables. I've been trying but I'm stuck.
Thanks in Advance for your Help.

  • Problems with "Application Express Accounts" authentication scheme...

    Hi.
I'm using Application Express 4.1.1.00.23 on Oracle 10g XE.
I have created and used an authentication scheme based on APEX accounts which worked okay for a while but it now experiencing issues. All the current users are working fine, but I cannot add new ones in the app! Oh, I'm using an APEX generated Access Control page within the app (which I have deleted/recreated to no joy).
If I make changes to a current user I get the expected "1 row(s) updated, 0 row(s) inserted." message and it has indeed worked. If I "Add User" and "Apply Changes", nothing happens... well, the page is seemingly submitted, but no action is taken, no errors are raised, but no user is added.
Curiously, if I both amend a user and add a user before applying changes I get the following -
    "1 error has occurred
Current version of data in database has changed since user initiated update process. current row version identifier = "A884FA378C851786DDFE3A33709CB23C" application row version identifier = "234234C67A01764460EDABD366BC4C48" (Row 2)"
The row is mentions is the one I tried to amend. To make matters worse, it's not consistent as another row I tried to amend (at the same time as inserting a new user) gives the following error -
    "1 error has occurred
unique constraint (ICTLIVE.APEX_ACCESS_CONTROL_PK) violated (Row 1)"
This update, again, works correctly when I try to update without adding a new user!
Very confused, can anyone help please!
    Thanks in advance,
    Adam.

Hi, and thanks for the reply.
I have used this successfully before myself... that's why this is confusing me! I have tried recreating the page with the same number and also creating a new page with a new number and the result is the same. It leads me to believe there's something else going on but I have no idea what!

  • Allignment problem in application express tree region

    hi,
i have an issue regarding the tree regions allignment in a page. i tried to create a simple tree region with the basic code given below..
    select case when connect_by_isleaf = 1 then 0
           when level = 1             then 1
           else                           -1
           end as status,
           level,
           'xxx'   as title,
           null as icon,
           "RECORD1" as value,
           null as tooltip,
           null as link
    from "#OWNER#"."TABLE_TREE"
    where ex_id = :EX_ID
    start with "RECORD2" is null and ex_id = :EX_ID
    connect by prior "RECORD1" = "RECORD2" and ex_id = :EX_ID
for the above code used in the tree region type i got the following tree structure.
the above trees structure display the child records from same parent are not coming in same allignment. the child record with no further child is coming with a space before the record and a child record with further childs to it is getting displayed from the starting of the line.

  • Can not login to Oracle Application Express after upgrade to 3.2

I installed oracle database express and then I upgrade APEX to 3.2 on it. I got the login page but I can not login by using any account, like SYS, SYSTEM. From the document, internal ADMIN account should exist but I did not see it from dba_users table.
    Thanks,
    Julie

    HI Don,
I did run apxchpwd.sql to change the Application Express ADMIN user password. Then I invoked http://mymachine:8080/apex and got the Application Express login page. I put ADMIN in workspace and ADMIN in Username and the new password. But I still cannot login. I also tried http://mymachine:8080/apex/apex_admin page login. I typed ADMIN as username and the new password. Then I clicked on Login button. Nothing happened. No error message.
    Any idea?
By the way, what does apxxepwd.sql do?
    Thanks,
    Julie

  • Is it possible to execute a stored procedure from application express?

I have created a pl/sql application now I would like to give it a front end, I am new to application express.
My application depends on running a couple of pl/sql procedures that modify data.
What I need is my user to be able to execute the procedures from the application in a browser, is it possible to run a pl/sql procedure from an application express application in a browser?
how would I go about doing this?
    thank you very much.
    Ramiro

    You sure can.
If you want to run a PL/SQL procedure/package/function from the URL, create a specific DAD entry just for that (Oracle) user, and give that user EXECUTE permissions on the procedure. Then just use the new DAD with the procedure name, like http://myserver.somewhere.com/MyNewDAD/Schema_Owner.MyPackage.MyProcedure?InParameter=MyParameter)
Of course, the above line will need heavy modification on your end, but I do this in my app, but I actaully pass it through a javascript attached to a button which then opens it in a new window.
If instead, all you want to do is execute a procedure with ApEx as part of a validation or process or something, select the PL/SQL 'Region' (or process, whatever it is you want to do), and then write it as an anonymous block:
    begin
    MyProcedure;
    end;

  • Problem adding data to the CRM /Saas application by running SQL commands

    Hello,
I've been following the CRM/ Saas tutorial:
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/pub/articles/bobrowski-saas.html
and I tried to run the SQL commands in the tutorial to populate the TENANTS, CUSTOMERS, TENANT_COLUMNS, and USERS tables and keep on getting an "ORA-00911: invalid character" error.
I could use the Object Browser page to do this but would like to know how to do this by running a SQL command.
Has anyone else encountered this problem when trying to populate the tables in the CRM application?
    Thanks
    Linda

    Hello,
Are you sure you copied it correctly?
If you try to run 1 create statement, does that work?
    For ex.
    -- USERS
    INSERT INTO users (username, tenant_id)
    VALUES ('MIKE',1);
    INSERT INTO users (username, tenant_id)
    VALUES ('JOE',2);
    COMMIT;
Does that work? I don't see that many special characters...
What you may try to do is to change the ; by a /
    for ex.:
    INSERT INTO users (username, tenant_id)
    VALUES ('MIKE',1)
    INSERT INTO users (username, tenant_id)
    VALUES ('JOE',2)

  • Problem while importing the application in application express 3.0

    Hi Friends
We have developed an application in a workspace say X. I imported the complete application in different workspace Y and the import was successfully. Now if I export a single page from that application in workspace X and import in workspace Y, then it gives me error as
"This page was exported from a different application or from an application in different workspace. Page cannot be installed in this application."
Also I tried changing the application id in the export file but did not work.
Is their a workaround for this?
(We are using application express 3.0.0.00.20)
    Thanks
    Minakshi

    Hi Scott
1 ) Page exports are to be imported into an application having the same ID as the source application in the same named worskpace.
But the problem is I cannot have same application id in the same workspace or in different workspaces even. I exported the complete application from workspace X with application id as 555 and tried importing the application in workspace Y with the same application id. But that does not work since it throws the error message as the same application id cannot reside in 2 different workspaces.
    2) You don't say whether workspaces X and Y are in the same or different databases.
Both the workspaces X and Y are in the same database. The database user/schema that is associated with workspaces X and Y are different.
    3) Also I tried changing the application id in the export file but did not work.
Following is the extract of the page that i tried importing. The places wherever it is marked BOLD, i modified them in the original page export sql file.
    --application/set_environment
    prompt APPLICATION 500 - Load_Factor_System
    -- Application Export:
    -- Application: 500
    -- Name: Load_Factor_System
    -- Date and Time: 15:52 Wednesday May 16, 2007
    -- Exported By: ADMIN
    -- Flashback: 0
    -- Export Type: Page Export
    -- Version: 3.0.0.00.20
    -- SET APPLICATION ID
    wwv_flow.g_flow_id := 500;
    wwv_flow_api.g_id_offset := 0;
    null;
In case you need further clarifications, please let us know.

  • Application Express 3.2.1 post installation problem

I upgraded Oracle database XE with Application Express 3.2.1
The installation was succesfull. The logfiles contains the text: Thank you for installing ... etc
The post installation tasks give me some problems. As I upgraded from Oracle Database XE, I am using the 10.g version. That is correct?
That means I cannot use the embedded PL/SQL gateway, foir this works only with version 11g. So I must configer the Oracle HTTP server and mod_plsql. That is correct?
After installation I am supposed to copy the image directory in the ORACLE_HTTPSERVER_HOME \Apache directory
I have no idea where that directory is. A search on my C: drive returns no results.
How can I find the ORACLE_HTTPSERVER_HOME \Apache directory?
    Any help is welcome
    Hans

    Hi,
Oracle XE comes with EPG even it is 10g
    This might help
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/database/application_express/html/3.2_and_xe.html
If you install was ok then you need just update images and set/reset Apex admin password
    # Connect to SQL*Plus as SYS
    # @APEX_HOME/apex/apxldimg.sql APEX_HOME
    # @APEX_HOME/apex/apxxepwd.sql password
For the steps above, APEX_HOME is the directory where the Application Express software was unzipped.
