SQL Creation Date variable issue

I am building a report where I need the CREATION DATE field to display only the results for the previous day. Is there an SQL statement that I can add to the Viewer that will display this data? Ex:
STAFF_LOCAL.CREATION_DT  IN (insert SQL statement here)

Hi Todd,
If you want to create a report which will show data of previous day, you can make a filter in the universe with this definition.
i.e. if you are using sql server create a filter condition with definition like
@select(classname\objectname)=getdate()-1
for oracle it will be @select(classname\objectname)=sysdate-1
and then use this condition in the report, you will get the desired result.
If you want this to be at report side only and not from designer than use this example sql which gives hiredate and name for employees hired in the previous day.
Select
employee.fname,employee.hire_date
from
employee
where
(employee.hire_date = getdate()-1)
this is for sql server...
for oracle you can replace the getdate() with sysdate in the customer sql.
hope this helps.

Gaurav

  • Data Modeler EA1:  Importing SQL Server Data Dictionary issue

    I am using the Data Dictionary Import Wizard to import the Schema of a SQL Server 2005 database (JDBC connection has "SQL Server 2005" as the Type) into the Oracle SQL Developer Data Modeler. In step 4 of the import, under the "Import to:" section, there is only SQL Server 2000 available in the drop down.

    Database Name: Microsoft SQL Server
    Database Version 10.00.2531
    I assumed that a SQL Server 2008 DB would be handled as a SQL Server 2005 DB (that is until 2008 is supported). Currently the db is not using any SQL Server 2008 specific features.
    In Oracle Developer Data Model 2, the tables with xml data type would not import. This time, those tables did import.

  • How to fetch post goods issue date and sales order creation date

    Hi All,
    How to find out the difference between SD Sales Order Item Creation Date and final Post goods issue Date. I would like to know how to fetch those dates and what is the relationship between the tables from which i will get the dates.
    Please let me know the solution .
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
    Sales order creation date is when u raise a sales order in favor of the customer using VA01.......using ATP logic system purposes the material availability date....
    after saving ur sales order...when u raise the Delivery using VL01n  w.r.t to OR...than u have to perform picking ....In the picking Tab...specify the amount to be picked than press Post Good Issue....means the goods left the company premises ..
    You can the fetch the values using tables-  Use T code   SE12  or SE16

  • Issue for creation date of Billing document in third party ???

    Hello SAP Folks,
    This issue is related to third party scenario. The basic requirement is to create to a billing document with a creation date same as
    Good issue date of Sales Order.
    For your information, with the help of enhacement we have passed on the value of posting date of material document generated
    from MIGO to Goods issue date in Sales Order. I am very much aware that setting up a new copying routine would help me but
    relating the GI date field of Sales Order from the techincal point of view is a complete work stopper. Could anyone throw light on
    the workaround for mapping this case ???
    Regards,
    Sarthak

    Hello,
    Thanks Alex for your input on the topic !!
    But i would like to say that the billing relevance of the item category has to "B" as this process of Third part Sales talks about creation of billing document after the MIGO. And i am basically interested to Populated the posting date of MIGO for Biling creation date.
    In Sales Order, the GI date is modified to Posting date of MIGO through enhancement. I have been looking around relevant tables to fetch the GI date of Sales Order but not getting the right track...
    Could anyone provide any other workaround to implement this sort of requirement ???
    Eager to hear from Lakshmipathi ...

  • How to Update the Date in PL/SQL using a variable?

    Hi,
    I am setting up a varchar of an update statement and would like to put a date variable for the value. It works when I just put SYSDATE in the statement, yet doesn't when I put the date variable. Gives me an ORA-0904 error. Thanks.
    DECLARE
    v_upd VARCHAR2(32767); -- update statement
    l_date varchar(20);
    BEGIN
    select sysdate into l_date from dual;
    v_upd := 'UPDATE table_name SET LAST_MODIFIED_DATE = ' ||
    l_date ;
    v_upd := v_upd || ' where xyz =''123'' ';
    EXECUTE IMMEDIATE v_upd;
    EXCEPTION
    WHEN OTHERS THEN
    ROLLBACK;
    RAISE;
    END;

    And you don't need to select sysdate from dual.
    SQL> begin
      2     UPDATE table_name
      3     SET    LAST_MODIFIED_DATE = sysdate
      4     where  xyz = '123';
      5
      6     dbms_output.put_line(sql%rowcount || ' rows updated.');
      7  end;
      8  /
    55103 rows updated.
    PL/SQL procedure successfully completed.

  • Passing a Date variable to SQL

    Hi,
    I am trying to pass in a Date variable into SQL query, but I am getting this error:
    "inconsistent datatypes: expected DATE got NUMBER"
    and my code looks like this. I would appreciate any help on how I need to create the Date variable that SQL would accept it.
    THANKS A LOT!
    SimpleDateFormat formatter = new SimpleDateFormat("MM/dd/yy");
    String txt = "01/01/1990";
    java.util.Date startYear2 = (java.util.Date) formatter.parse(txt, new ParsePosition(0));
    java.sql.Date startYear = new java.sql.Date(startYear2.getTime());
    String txt2 = "12/31/1990";
    java.util.Date endYear2 = (java.util.Date) formatter.parse(txt2, new ParsePosition(0));
    java.sql.Date endYear = new java.sql.Date(endYear2.getTime());
    String scoredGoalsQuery = "SELECT count(name) from player_goal_rel where name = '" + pName + "' and pdate BETWEEN "+ startYear +" and "+ endYear;
    ResultSet scoredGoalsResult = stmt.executeQuery(scoredGoalsQuery);

    You should be using prepared statements.
    String scoredGoalsQuery = "SELECT count(name) from player_goal_rel where name = ? and pdate BETWEEN ? and ?":
    PreparedStatement pstmt = connection.prepareStatement(scoredGoalsQuery);
    pstmt.setString(1, pName);
    pstmt.setDate(2, startYear);
    pstmt.setDate(3, endYear);
    ResultSet scoredGoalsResult = pstmt.executeQuery();

  • SCCM 2007 SQL Query for Advertisement Creation Date

    I have been asked if I can create a Query to list all advertisements that have been created in a 60 day period and the User that created them.
    I have tried a couple of SQL codes but I cant quite get the syntax to work.
    Here is what I have so far, but I still don't know if any of it is usable:
    v_Advertisement.AdvertisementName AS ‘Advertisement Name’,
    v_Advertisement.AdvertisementID AS ‘Advertisement ID’
    FROM v_Advertisement
    INNER JOIN v_Package ON v_Advertisement.PackageID = v_Package.PackageID
    INNER JOIN v_Collection ON v_Advertisement.CollectionID = v_Collection.CollectionID
    INNER JOIN v_ClientAdvertisementStatus ON v_Advertisement.AdvertisementID = v_ClientAdvertisementStatus.AdvertisementID
    AND v_Advertisement.AdvertisementID in(SELECT advertisementid FROM V_advertisement WHERE DATEDIFF(D, V_advertisement.presenttime,GETDATE())<=365)
    ORDER BY v_Advertisement.AdvertisementName
    Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.
    Regards
    AntonSK

    I saw you're missing select statement.
    Also, you need to know which table & column for these:
    - Advertisement Creation date?
    - User that created the Advertisement
    a sample of working query as below, but it's still missing the 2 items above
    select
    Adv.AdvertisementName as 'Advertisement Name',
    Adv.AdvertisementID as 'Advertisement ID'
    from
    v_Advertisement as Adv
    inner join v_Package as Pkg on Adv.PackageID = Pkg.PackageID
    inner join v_Collection as Col on Adv.CollectionID = Col.CollectionID
    inner join v_ClientAdvertisementStatus as AdsStatus on Adv.AdvertisementID = AdsStatus.AdvertisementID
    and Adv.AdvertisementID in(select Adv.AdvertisementID from v_Advertisement where datediff(d, Adv.PresentTime, getdate())<=365)
    order by 'Advertisement Name'

    The display has problem to see everything. In the "Define Relationship" windows, the Relationship section overlap the measure group table display. I can only see upper half the measure group table font.
    Can someone help to let me know what is the issue?

    Hi Tie,
    According to your description, there are some display problems when you design a SQL Server Analysis Services project in SQL Server Data Tools, right?
    In your scenario, does this issue occur on only this project or all the projects? In your scenario, please create a sample SSAS project and then check if this issue occurs on the new project or not?
    If this issue occurs on only this project, then the issue is related to your cube structure, please to restart SSDT to check if this issue persists or not. If the issue persists, please provide us more information about your cube settings.
    If this issue occurs on all the projects, then the issue is related to SSDT. To avoid this issue, you can use SQL Server Data Tools – Business Intelligence for Visual Studio 2012 to build you SSAS project. It available on the link below

  • Creation of Dynamic Date Variables to be used in WebI reports

    What we are trying to achieve is to create 4 optional filters (Current Day, Current Week, Last Week, Last Month) on 4 different dates which will allow the users to use them in WebI reports.
    When using an optional SAP Customer Exit variable in BEx and creating a Universe on top, the filter becomes mandatory (i.e. the whole Universe is filtered by the SAP Exit, irrespective of whether the filter is used in the WebI report). Even if the filter is flagged as optional at the Universe level, it still behaves as mandatory.
    If each filter becomes mandatory then we'll have to create 16 different Universes (for each optional filter and date combination)! This is not feasible.
    I've seen in other posts that MDX Statements are not currently supported for Universes base on BW and SAP Exit should be utilized.
    So with the existing BO version, is it possible to create optional dynamic date variables or is that a product limitation?
    We are on XI3.1 SP3 FP3.1
    Thanks

    Hi Adam,
    In BEx, I would create this query very easily using the "Amount" key figure twice in my results and restricting each with a different SAP standard out-of-the-box delivered variable. For your reference, the variables in BEx are: 0FPER and 0FYTLFP.
    If I expose these variables in my OLE DB for OLAP query, they are not transfered into the universe, but rather act as filters on the entire universe. I've seen in documentation that only "Ready for Input" variables can be transfered as options into the universe which is not something that I have seen mentioned in this thread.
    >> In the BEx Query you have the option to either make the variable "ready for input" or not. The behavior is the same in Bex or in the Universe / Web Intelligence. "Ready for input" means the user can actually provide an input and without the flag the user can not provide an input. Yes those variables are supported in the Universe.
    Why this is a problem: I can't create separate universes based on potential variable periods that users might want to see. Additionally, many financial reports require concurrent use of these measures in the same report. Also, in reality it's not 2 variables, but dozens.
    >> Which is a decision you make already on the BEx query level. if you decide that the variable is not ready for input then the user can change the timeframe in BEx either.
    Also, I don't have a good way to mimic the standard out-of-the-box functionality given with BEx in BO. If I custom create all my variables in the universe, how do I do a lookup from the system date to the fiscal calendar that is stored on the BW server? In other words, how does BO know which date belongs in which period? (the same would be true with factory calendars for a different functional area).
    >> Variable are created in the BEx query and the Universe will leverage those.
    If you want a dynamic date range then EXIT variable as part of the BEx query - ready for input or not - is the solution.
    regards
    Ingo Hilgefort
    The only work around I can see is to require users to enter the current fiscal period and have the BO reports filter based off that user entered value. This is unfortunate as the entire purpose of SAP Exit variables is to avoid having to require user input at report time.

  • SQL Developer Data Modeler - MAC Version 2.0.0 Build 570 - Issues

    In no particular order
    - The Help, About box displays a different version information set then the SQL Developer Data Modeler, About SQl Developer Data Modeler.
    - Not able to move any portion of the connection between entities. Thus there is no current way to align the lines as wanted.

    - Open SQl Developer data Modeler, Click on File, Open, select an XML file and a dialog box is displayed.
    - The checkbox needs to be moved to the right as it is partially cut off.
    - the text next to the checkbox is cutoff and only displays "Don't show this dialog agai".
    - Printing Diagrams does not print correctly unless you have the entities displayed such that you can "read" them. If you have diminished the display so that you are not able to see the table or

    - File, Recent Designs, does not retain the last or any design having been opened and/or saved.

    I have JRE 1.5, but that seems to be the latest per the Software Udpate utility, and when prompted, I set my java directory to /usr, since my java bin was under /usr/bin.
    Let me know if I should start a different thread.

  • Name renaming issue creation date

    Hello, when i import and batch rename avchd files, i choose rename with creation date/hour AAAMMDD HHMMSS.
    But the name wich is created importing name. Whatever i choose, its the same date, wich is imported date.
    The metadata are good. For exemple for a file with created date 20140605, i'll have the creating date that is the today date and hour.
    Whatever i choose creating date or importing date.
    Can you help ?
    thank you

    Hello,
    Thanks Alex for your input on the topic !!
