SQL Developer 2.1.1.64 Reset Password Issues

I have a user with the version identified in the subject that cannot reset their password by right clicking on a connection and selecting "Reset Password." With the same version on my workstation I can carry out this task with no problems. The user also had the same problem with version 1.5.4.
I suspect it's a configuration issue that is escaping me at the moment.
Thanks for the help!

The user does have an 11g (11.2.0.1) client installed and has tried the Use OCI/Thick driver option to no avail.
On my machine I have an 11.2.0.1 client installed as well and I can select the "Reset Password" dialog and I don't have the Use OCI/Thick driver checked.
Thanks!

  • SQL Developer 2.1 removes the stored password in SVN Application Data

    Hello everybody
SQL Developer is a great Tool and I use it together with the SVN Versioning System. I also use TortoiseSVN on my Windows XP Operating System, that's why I found out that either the SQL Developer or its SVN Extension has a bug.
I have installed the latest SQL Developer 2.1.0.63.73 and the extension "*Versioning Support for Subversion* 11.1.1.2.36.55.30".
Both Tools the SVN Extension for SQL Developer and the TortoiseSVN save Authentification Data automatically in the same Folder "C:\Documents and Settings\UserXYZ\Application Data\Subversion\auth\svn.simple\" into some Files.
When I use TortoiseSVN, the password can be stored in those mentioned Files. That's very useful, so I don't have to enter my password every time I perform a SVN command. But when I later use SQL Developer and update/commit some file, the password will be removed from the above mentioned Files, even though my Password is stored in the SQL Developer's Subversion Navigator inside the Connection Setup of my Repository.
I would be happy to get some feedback from your point of view. Are there other people who have the same problem?
I turned already to google, but I haven't found a hint that it could be something you can configure in some properties.
    Thanks in advance,
    Ben

In the meantime I found the solution:
just add those two lines to the *%appdata%\Subversion\config* File
    store-auth-creds = no
    store-passwords = yes
It looks like the SVN Extension in SQL Developer has different Default Values for the properties than TortoiseSVN has.

  • Oracle SQL Developer 3.1 Migration Third Party Databases Issues

    Hi,
i had following issues with migrating from db2 v8 to oracle 11.2.
    Online:
Due to missing privileges and roles for user db user migrations some steps have failed (CREATE USER -> ORA-01031 ...).
After correcting this like described in "Creating a Database User for the Migration Repository" in sqldev online help this has worked.
    The problems are:
    a) on the overview page at the end of the migration assistent all steps (CAPTURE, CONVERT, GENERATE, DATAMOVE) are shown as complete, even if nothing has done
    b) on page 6/9 into migration assistant all changes for datatype convertion are ignored, for example CHAR to VARCHAR2
    c) generated files are not visible, even if you mark refresh on file view
    d) after restarting sqldev, generarted files are visible in file view, but when you add generated files to svn error message "svn: File: xxx has inconsitent newlines" is shown
    e) after sucessful migration on opened migration project pane "data quality" sourcenumrows are NULL, even if they always NOT NULL and count(*) on any table on both sites are equal
    Offline:
    Generated skripts contains errors:
./startDump.sh: line 157: syntax error near unexpected token `done'
    '/startDump.sh: line 157: `done < "schemas.dat"
    Can anybody help?
    Thanks in advance
    André

    Hi kgronau,
    thanks for your fast answer.
Today i have found 2 new issue.
When you have opened a migration project from repository, on pane "data quality" sourcenumrows are always null
    and
sourcename and targetname shows always databse object names from the database on the first migration project in repository independently of extra section in drop down box model and source.
    kgronau wrote:
    André,
I used SQL Dev 3.1 and I captured a DB2 database. Then I've changed the rule to map char to varchar2 and started the migration.
When I now check out my custom tables all all of them that had in the source model a char column are now using varchar2.I have tried to changed dataype for target database in place over the drop down box, not the edit rule button. It's a little bit confusing to have this option, when it doesn't works.
After using the edit rule button, all works fine. Just the summary page 9/9 doesn't report changed datatype assignment.
    >
Could you please explain what you mean with your option c and d?c)
Yes i'm meaning View -> Files. Sorry but on german windows i have just german menu items. That is sometimes tricky to retranslate for support questions and also not helpful when using the online help where all menu items referenced in english :-(
(Do you have an ideo how can i configure sqldev with english menu aon german windows?)
I think, this problemn is special for output folders under subversion control.
    d)
Generated Files after the end of the migration are just visible in output folders under subversion control after restarting sqldev

Are you talking about Opening a File viewer window (View -> Files)? In my case I have chosen d:\temp\DB2 as output and monitored it during the migration. It isn't refreshed until I manually click on the refresh button - but once the migration has finished and written the output and when I then click on the refresh button I'll see all the directories and the files included.

When a migration has finished then SQL Developer 3.1 now creates in the top directory an unload_script.sh file which calls the other unload scripts. That's right, all scripts are generated.
Also the data unload scripts were created - I need to find a DB2 on Unix to check the script - a quick check of the windows scripts worked correctly.
Edited by: kgronau on Mar 7, 2012 1:22 PM
These unload shell scripts to unload the data out of a DB2 database are also working.
Unfortunately I'm not able to test the shell script used for a source model unload as my UDB is running on Windows.
Didn't the online source model collection work? For me it looks like it did as you mentioned you changed the char data types to varchar2 and this requires already a connection to the source database - except you used the scripts that were generated using the startDump.sh which has failed. Yes, online source model collection did work. Just the unix shell script produces an error on the source unix system with db2. Please see below th generated script.
So please provide here some more details../startDump.sh was startet for testing purposes without any arguments
./startDump.sh: line 157: syntax error near unexpected token `done'
    '/startDump.sh: line 157: `done < "

  • OAM 10g Reset Password Issue in Password Policy Management

    Hi,
We are using OAM 10g and we have configured password policy for our application with selecting "Change on Reset" Check Box.
We have created new user in create user identity tab and when we are logging with new user for the first time, it is not redirecting to the reset password page.
Can someone shed light on this issue?
    Thanks,

    Hi Colin,
As you said, We have configured obpasswordchangeflag in Create User Workflow by setting the default value true.
We have created new user in create user tab and checked in LDAP Browser as it is showing obpasswordchangeflag =true in newly created user's profile.
Now, when we are trying to login with new user, it is still not redirecting to the Reset Password Page.
please find below the url which we have configured in Password Policy Change Redirect URL:
    /identity/oblix/apps/lost_pwd_mgmt/bin/lost_pwd_mgmt.cgi?program=redirectforchangepwd&login=%loginid%%userid%&backURL=%HostTarget%%RESOURCE%&STLogin=%applySTLogin%&target=top&style=style1

  • Reset Password Issue

    Hi All,
Recently we have implemented Get Support link in our portal logon page here i am facing an issue for sending e-mail with the password. When user gives his user id and e-mail id and submitting he is receiving e-mail with the password it is working in development System and it is not working in the Quality System i am unable to find the problem.
    Please help me....
    Thanks,
    Rahul.

    Hi Rahul & Mahendran,
@Mahendran: No, he is talking of setting ume.logon.logon_help to TRUE, see http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/de/52/4c6c3e58d0d064e10000000a114084/frameset.htm
@Rahul: Hard to say remotely, but the most probable thing is that you have not configured your smtp server with a valid configuration; especially check the setting of "ume.notification.mail_host", and, if set, check if the mail server accepts mail from your prod system.
If this does not point to the root cause, also check the defaultTrace for any entries created while you would expect the mail to be sent.
    Hope it helps
    Detlev

  • How to solve Oracle SQL Developer connection problem ?

    Folks,
Hello. I am using Oracle Database 11gR1. The Database Control Console https://localhost.localdomain:1158/em works correctly. I can create a Database and a table successfully.
My OS is Linux and connects to internet successfully.
In order to run SQL statements. we need to use Oracle SQL Developer. I connect Oracle SQL Developer in the following way:
Connection Name: DB1 (this is my database name as well)
Username: SYS (this is the user name I used to login to the Console)
Password: SYS (this the password used to login to the Console)
    Connection Type: Basic

But the error message comes up: "Status: Failure - IO exception Connection Reset."

  • Unable to connect to a remote db using Sql Developer

    hi,
I have 2 systems (A and B) both running on RHEL 6. A has Oracle 10G installed while B has Oracle 11G, and on both I have SQL Developer. A and B are cable networked with static IPs as below.
    A 192.168.1.1
    B 192.168.1.2
I am trying to connect to database on A from SQL Developer on B. On B, I open SQL developer, enter the connection name, username, password, hostname( or IP) of A, port #, and instance name and hit connect. It shows error about network adapter. I cannot connect.
Listners on both system are active, I can ping each system from each other. No issues with /etc/hosts either.
I am not sure then why it does not work. Would like to know if I can / should be able to connect like above ? What else should I look at to fix?
    Shashi

    Hello Sir,
Can you telnet to the server on 1521? (telnet A 1521)- failed. with no route error
However, I could telnet B from A without any prob. I then came across a workaround at
    TNS-12560: TNS:protocol adapter error
    which suggests to :
Go into the Security Level Configuration on your Linux server. In Other Ports, specifically enter <port>:tcp, (example 1521:tcp.
    and it worked :)
I am still not sure, why I had to take the workaround route when there was no difference between 2 systems, in terms of route tables, host file entries, sqlnet.ora,listner.ora, etc . I am glad that the issue is resolved and I am able to connect from SQL Developer on A to db on B and other way round, but the the question still remains... :)

I set the SFTP username to the username listed next to 'Service SFTP User Name' on the dashboard
I set the SFTP hostname to: sftp.us1.cloud.oracle.com
I left the port set to 22
When I login on SQL Developer to database, I use the password for the user I created in APEX
Thanks in advance to all who help!

    Hi,
You have to use the admin account to add the admin role to the developer account. Can you please try this and let me know of your feedback.
The settings you added look good, and the you have the latest version of Sql DEVELOPER     , ...so this should be an issue.
Maybe you have some firewall setting on your computer, that are blocking the connection?
If , after checking all of the above you still have an issue, please contact oracle support via the chat on the cloud.oracle.com and ask the engineer to open a Service Request under your name.
    Thanks,
    Flori

  • Cannot connect to database using SQL Developer

    Ok. Here are the facts:
    1) I can connect to the database using PL/SQL Developer.
    2) I wanted to try SQL Developer and I am unable to connect to the same database with SQL Developer. I provide username and password and select "network alias" and click test and I get "Network adaptor could not be established"
    3) TNS names.ora file resides on a mapped drive which clearly is accessible by PL/SQL developer but not by SQL developer.
    What am i missing?
    Thanks a lot

If you can select a network alias, then sqldeveloper has found your tnsnames and the problem lies elsewhere.
Is the network drive specified by a UNC? SQLDeveloper doesn't work well with unc names.

  • SQl Developer  2.1.0.62 - dbms_output.put_line

When trying to use dbms_output.put_line i seem to keep on getting messages in the logging Page tab and example would be:
    SEVERE     96     516     oracle.dbtools.db.DBUtil     Invalid column index
This even seems to happen when doing a simple anonymous block witha single dbms_output.put_line command.
I have tried closing SQL Developer and using a new session but same issue.
Is this an install issue or something else?

    Dermot,
I too am running on XP.
I am running against a 9i DB in case that should make any difference.
I have as a test switched back to my SQL Developer 1.5.5.59.69 version issued a dbms_output call from a block and it works.
All i am doing is logging on to 9i DB
    Opening worksheet
    begin
    dbms_output.put_line('Test');
    END;
I have then chosen View -> DBMS Output
This then open a new a new window at bottom of screen, i then click on the cross to add a new DBMS Output window for my connection.
I then run the code, this is where i now receive the messages in the Loggng Tab.
Have just noticed that when i log into the 9i DB i receive the following in the looging Tab:
SEVERE     103     26830     oracle.dbtools.db.DBUtil     ORA-02248: invalid option for ALTER SESSION
Not sure what is causing this must be part of SQl developer Login procedure failing, but doesn't happen in vesrion 1.5.5.59.69
    Thanks

  • Sql developer installation problem

    Hi,
trying to make new connection, without installing any other oracle software of database software in my pc, I receive the message " the network adapter could not establish the connection. Hostname is localhost, port is 1521 and SID is xe or orcl or any other. Should I install client in order to make connection?
    Thank you

    Follow the below stpes
    1. Download the oracle database installation document (available in PDF format on google search).
    2. Download the oracle database product build from the oracle website.
    3. Perform the installation as per the manual.
    4. Configure the listener and then create the database using the Database Configuration Assistant or Enterprise Manager.
    5. Connect the database via the SQL developer tool.
This should solve the issue for you.

  • Find DbObject Wizard is not available in Sql developer 3.0

    Hi,
when I click on View -> find DB Objects, I m not seeing that screen anymore.
Initially when I installed for the first time I did use it, but now I cannot find it.
Is there any issue with the docking ?
This is most important attribute I like about sql developer which seems to be having some issue in latest version
Please let us know if there is any preference setting to getting it back.
I dont want re install it as I ve done lot of preference setting.
    Thanks,
    Akash

Deleting the [Windows user profile]\Application Data\SQL Developer\system3.0.03.45\o.ide.11.1.1.4.37.59.7\windowinglayout.xml file should restore default settings.
    Hope that helps,

  • ((  SQL DEVELOPER UserName Password??? --- To Access APEX TABLES ))

How do I access APEX tables from SQL DEVELOPER?
What do I use as a USERNAME and PASSWORD--
    inside SQL DEVELOPER?
    Hello,
I have APEX installed on my machine.
    WINDOWS 7 PROFESSIONAL 64 BIT.
    I also have installed:
    ORACLE XE
    and
    SQL DEVELOPER.
I have applications I have created in APEX
    with various tables.
    Question:
How can I access my APEX tables from
    within SQL DEVELOPER?
What USERNAME and PASSWORD do I use?
    I can do this with
    HR
    SQL DEVELOPER USERNAME = HR
    PASSWORD = HR
    This works fine.
But what about for my own APEX TABLES
I created inside my own workspace
    inside APEX?
    For example:
    LOGIN TO APEX:
    http://127.0.0.1:8080/apex/
    If my
    APEX WORKSPACE = DAVID_WS
    SCHEMA = DAVID_SC
    APEX USERNAME = DAVIDAPEX_UN
    APEX PASSWORD = DAVIDAPEX_PW
    LOGIN TO APEX ADMIN:
    http://localhost:8080/apex/apex_admin
    APEXADMIN USERNAME = DAVIDADMIN_UN
    APEXADMIN PASSWORD = DAVIDADMIN_PW
    So, given the above 6
    NAMES and PASSWORDS above:
    SQL DEVELOPER USERNAME = ????
    SQL DEVELOPER PASSWORD = ????
Thanks a lot for your help!
    David

    Hello david,
When you created your workspace with the below details, if the schema "DAVID_SC" was created through APEX, then you should have also specified the password as well.
    APEX WORKSPACE = DAVID_WS
    SCHEMA = DAVID_SC
    APEX USERNAME = DAVIDAPEX_UN
APEX PASSWORD = DAVIDAPEX_PWIf you dont remember the password for "DAVID_SC", you can log on to your Oracle XE database as a "SYSTEM" user and reset the password of "DAVID_SC".
Once that is done, you can log on to SQL developer with :
    username : david_sc
    password : <your_new_password>
Hope it is clear and plz refer to the APEX documentation to get a better understanding of it.

  • Changing password within SQL Developer

Hi, Thanks for the great product. I'm beginning to migrate from TOAD to SQL Developer and have run into one minor snafu. The one minor feature missing within SQL Developer (unless I missed it) is to easily change a password like TOAD in the UI (This is a common complaint among other devlopers trying it out). I work on a lot of seperate databases occasionally and have to reset the passwords every 60 days.
I would like to request this minor feature.
How can I change my password without using SQL Plus, but within SQL Developer? Is there a way?
    Thank you!

Sounds like a good enhancement and I will record it. In the meanwhile, just open a SQL Worksheet and issue your command.

  • Password change fails in SQL Developer with verify function...

A couple of months ago I enforced a password verify function on our 11.2.0.3 databases and also one legacy 10.2.0.4 database.
At the time I tested on my account (which had elevated privileges...doh!).   Now some users are hitting expiry, they can't change it via SQL Developer.
If I create a user with 'create session' privilege and set their profile to one that uses the verify function (see both below), I then log in to SQL Developer (we have tried with versions 3.1 (Windows) and 3.2 (Linux) with same failure results.
BTW,.. the password verify function enforces the following:
password must be minimum of 8 characters
password must not be the same as the user name, or user name (1-100)
password must contain at least a single digit
password must contain at least a single character
    1. Works = I log into the local server and run command line SQLPlus, type 'password' and update.   I can successfully change my password.
    2. Fails = I log into the local server and run command line SQLPlus, type 'alter user <me> identified by <newpwd>;' I get:
    TEST: SUTEMP > alter user sutemp identified by carport9999;
alter user sutemp identified by carport9999
    ERROR at line 1:
    ORA-28221: REPLACE not specified
This error is because the account does not have the 'alter user' privilege.   I'm okay with this, as I don't want our users having this privilege.
    3. I start SQL Developer 3.2, type 'alter user <me> identified by <newpwd>;' I get the same ORA-28221 error as above.   That is fine, and as expected.
    4. Now in SQL Developer, I type 'password', set a valid password, but I get 'Failed to change password' in the Script Output tab.
I have a database 'after servererror on database' trigger set, and querying the database table it is logging into, I see a record with a date stamp matching my failure with a server_error=28221 (the same as above).
So I'm wondering if I'm doing something wrong here, or if this is a bug in SQL Developer.   I don't want standard users having 'alter user' privileges, but I do want to enforce password verification.
I get the same result on three 11.2.0.3 databases (haven't tried any more but suspect same results for others) and one legacy 10.2.0.4 database, and using SQL Developer 3.1 and 3.2.

okay,... I just saw another website which shows I should put in the 'replace <oldpwd>' clause in.
    This works in SQL Developer:     alter user sutemp identified by carport999 replace garage999;
So why does the 'password' command fail?     (Developers:  it would also be helpful to have the ORA- error displayed as opposed to 'Failed to change password')
