Sql driver for sp14

hi,
i upgraded my portal to sp14. i added new jdbc driver at
visual composer. i can connect to the db and select information from my table. when i use the method "last()" i get an error message :
Sales naming exception [sap NWMSS] [sqlserver jdbc driver]
unsupported method : resultset.last
can u help?
roni.

Hard to say as I don't know what you want to do with the last() call. Maybe a 'select count(*)' with the same where clause that was used to create the result is an option. Just a side note: OpenSQL only supports read-only result sets, which is you can't call any of the update() methods on it.
Maybe a vendor connection helps talking native sql to the database; it usually gives you access to all features that the specific jdbc driver for a given database backend supports. The real big downside is that you end up with database specific code that doesn't neccessarily work on all db platforms. Further, you can't design the tables with the dictionary explorer nor is their any support for deployment of native tables. Quite some drawbacks.

    Hi
    We're running SAP Netweaver XI 7 on solaris 10,db2 9.We trying to set up some sort of communication between DB2 and SQL Server 2000,can somebody assist with a solution to this.
    Thanx.

    Hello, Terrence
    You can do it with two scenario :
    1. On SAP level with UD Connect (howto guide ia available on
        www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/howtoguides)
    2. On a DB2UNIX database level with additional pruducts (DataDirect Connect for
        ODBC and IBM WebSphere Federation Server). But it is additional money.

  • Sql Exception on Testing Configuration with SQL Server JDBC driver for XA

    I have a requirement of analyzing the behavior of SQL Server JDBC data sources for XA transactions in our application.We have been using Non-XA drivers for both Oracle and SQL Server as we had no requirement for transactions spanning across multiple databases in past.I have setup and tested the XA driver for Oracle (Oracle Driver (Thin XA) for Instance Connections 9.0.1,9.2.0,10,11) in Weblogic 11g and its working perfectly for transactions spanning across two databases.No when I am trying to configure weblogic 11g R1 for Sql server JDBC driver to support XA transactions with driver details as follows,

    Can some one please provide some input on whats causing this and any other steps needs to be followed to implement XA support using SQL Server JDBC driver.

    You seem to have done everything correctly and diligently. I would ask that you open
    an official support case.

  • Test JDBC Driver For SQL Server 2000 Failed

    Hi:
    I have trouble setting up the database connection using jdbc driver in the studio, could anyone help me please? I have MS SQL 2000 MSDE installed on my local machine. I downloaded and installed the JDBC Driver for MSSQL 2000 from Microsoft.
    I put the following jar files into the/lib/ext/ directory
    msbase.jar
    mssqlserver.jar
    msutil.jar
    In Studio 4.1 EE, I went to Runtime>Databases>Drivers, Add a new Driver with these information:
    Name: MSSQL Driver
    Driver: com.microsoft.jdbcx.sqlserver.SQLServerDataSource
    URL Prefix: jdbc:microsoft:sqlserver://localhost:<PORT>[;DatabaseName=<DB>]
    Next I run the Test Driver...
    Database URL: jdbc:microsoft:sqlserver://<machineName>\\<instanceName>;DatabaseName=<xxx>
    User: <username>
    Password: <password>
    I receieved the a popup box and message in the output window:
    Internal test driver incomplete. the driver may not support the required DatabaseMetadata methods. take a look at the Output Window for details.
    Warning: No tables were found. Check your database.
    Warning: No views were found. Check your database
    Warning: No procedures were found. Check your database.
    Your replies are greatly appreciated.

    com.microsoft.jdbcx.sqlserver.SQLServerDataSource is a very old direct driver. I'd recommend using the DataDirect 3.2 driver. It can be found at:

  • Connecting to SQL Server 2000 with MS SQL Server Driver for JDBC

    Hi,
    I am brand new to JDBC . I have installed JDBC driver (for JDBC 2.0) from the Microsoft site and made relevant changes to the class path variable to include the driver paths, as suggested in the driver help documnnts. I have written a simple java code to register. But i get "class NotFound" error.
    here's my code. What am I doing wrong? Thnaks for the help....
    class Test {
         public Test() throws Exception {
              // Get Connection
         //     Class.forName("com.microsoft.jdbc.sqlserver.SQLServerDriver");
         DriverManager.registerDriver (new com.microsoft.jdbc.sqlserver.SQLServerDriver());
              Connection conn = DriverManager.getConnection("jdbc:microsoft:sqlserver://SQL1:1433",myuser,mypwd);
              if (conn != null) {
                   System.out.println();
                   System.out.println("Successful Connection");
                   System.out.println();
                   // Meta Data
                   DatabaseMetaData meta = conn.getMetaData();
                   System.out.println("\n Driver Information");
                   System.out.println("Driver Name: " + meta.getDriverName());
                   System.out.println("Driver Version: " + meta.getDriverVersion());
                   System.out.println("\n Database Information");
                   System.out.println("Database Name: " + meta.getDatabaseProductName());
                   System.out.println("Database Version: " + meta.getDatabaseProductVersion());
         } //Test
         public static void main(String [] args) throws Exception {
              Test test = new Test();
    }

    Hi MoD,
    This is the exact command I used for compiling
    C:\>javac -classpath "c:\java;c:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server 2000 Driver
    for JDBC\lib\mssqlserver.jar;c:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server 2000 Driver f
    or JDBC\lib\msbase.jar;c:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server 2000 Driver for JDB
    C\lib\msutil.jar" c:\java\Test.java
    To Execute I used
    C:\>java -classpath "c:\java;c:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server 2000 Driver
    for JDBC\lib\mssqlserver.jar;c:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server 2000 Driver f
    or JDBC\lib\msbase.jar;c:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server 2000 Driver for JDB
    C\lib\msutil.jar" c:\java\Test
    In fact it kept thrwing up the Class Not Found error for the above commands.
    But as U suggested I removed the classpath and executed both javac and java commands without classpath clause , and guess what it worked for the line
    Class.forName("com.microsoft.jdbc.sqlserver.SQLServerDriver");
    (i.e., it dint throw any exception like before). So can I assume that driver is successfully registered?
    I tried using Jcreator for compile and run. But I got the same error msg as the commands given above with calsspath caluse. Is there a way around for this to make it work from an external editing tool like Jcreator apart from removing the classpath option from the JDKTool optional setting(doing this did not help for me)
    Also one last favor: How do I connect with the trusted connection option? (i.e. it should use already logged in windows authentification login)
    Thanks for all U'r help. I appreciate it very much.

    Can onebody help fixing this issue?
    Best regards,

    Hi Stephan,
    This is a bug in the unixODBC Driver Manager 2.3.0.  Essentially, you can only have one HDBC per HENV.  The mod_perl must be creating the connections upon the same HENV.
    The bug appears to be fixed in version 2.3.1 but we have not yet certified that out driver can work with 2.3.1.  See the 2.3.1 release notes at
    http://www.unixodbc.org/ where the last item says:
    "Driver version was not being held when a second connection was made to the driver"
    The Driver Manager would "forget" that we are an ODBC V3 driver and try intereacting with us as an ODBC V2 driver for the second connection (which fails).
    The workaround is to create a new HENV for each connection but I'm not sure if this is possible in mod_perl.

  • Is this a bug in JDBC driver for SQL Server 2000?

    Hi, all:
    I encountered a strange problem today.
    My struts/jsp application throws an error while executing the following SQL:
    SELECT id,moduleName,pageLevel,ent_name,style_name,type,hits,startDate,expireDate,expireAction,active,dealtime FROM v_ad WHERE style_id=1 ORDER BY id DESC
    The error message is:
    [Microsoft][SQLServer 2000 Driver for JDBC][SQLServer]Invalid column name 'style_id'.
    However, the column "style_id" does exist in view "v_ad", and if I execute this query in SQL Server Query Analyzer, it runs rightly with my expected result.
    I wonder if this is a bug of JDBC, and if this is really a bug, how should I deal with this problem?
    Any help would be thankful!

    Sounds like you may not have connected to the right database on the server.
    Check the default database for the username/passwd combo you are logging in with.

    Hi Chris,
    We have used the same because we have downloaded the driver from following location
    https://websmp108.sap-ag.de/msplatforms ;   > SQL Server > JDBC Driver for MS SQL Server (Version 3.70.10)
    I have tried with both "com.microsoft.jdbc.sqlserver.SQLServerDriver"; and "com.microsoft.sqlserver.jdbc.SQLServerDriver";, but still I am facing the same error.
    Service market place has given the driver as "JDBC Driver for MS SQL Server (Version 3.70.10)", is there a way to find out if it is for 2000 or 2005?
    Thanks for your reply.
    Regards,
    Rehan

    hey i also have this problem i have been looking for solution for this problem for along time i tried every possible solution i tried every service pack for the SQL but it didn't connect to the port!!!
    it's a network problem ur java code is correct dont worry about it.
    finally i had to install MySQL and it's work fine now but if u insist on usning SQL u have to use the JDBC-ODBC Bridge it will work by :
    first add data source database , follow these steps
    1- go to Administrative tools
    2-Data Sources(ODBC)
    3-System DNS tab and add then choose SQL SERVER the last option then finish
    4-write the name; Note: this name is the one that u will write in ur URL for example if u write Hello the URL will be "jdbc:odbc:Hello"
    5- choose the server, its recommended to write "." or (local)
    6-change the database to its an important step to choose the database that u want to use, choose northwind if u want to use it
    finish
    second
    adding this code:
    import java.sql.*;
    class JdbcTest1 {
    public static void main (String[] args) {
    try {
    // Step 1: Load the JDBC driver.
    Class.forName("sun.jdbc.odbc.JdbcOdbcDriver");
    // Step 2: Establish the connection to the database.
    String url = "jdbc:odbc:Hello";
    Connection conn = DriverManager.getConnection(url,"user1","password");
    } catch (Exception e) {
    System.err.println("Got an exception! ");
    System.err.println(e.getMessage());
    it will work without any problems
