SQL Fetch Recordset Data provides incomplete results

I am using the code below to return data from an SQL database. However, all of the elements in the variant array are blank except for the last column. Using "Database Variant to Data" doesn't help (everything but the last column is still blank). All of the columns are being correctly sent from "List Columns" to "Select Data". The SQL query is a simple "Select" statement that should return all of the data in the table. The SQL table is set up with all fields as text. Yes, there is data in the table. What else could be wrong?
I am using LabVIEW 2009 and the database connectivity toolkit and MS SQL Server 2005 Management Studio Express.

I've been using the tracer utility to try to see what the problem is but so far I haven't been able to figure out the problem. I have several other tables in my database that I'm pulling data from and this same structure and they run without any problems.

According to a Google search it looks like error 2147217845 shows up a couple of times with Oracle databases. Does the following page offer any helpful suggestions:

DB Tool Fetch RecordSet Data Bug?

I have a routine that do a fetch all on a csv file. If you use condition TPTemp=23, you will get row 5139. In that row, you have a value 0.98. However, depending on what you put in the csv file, you will get 0 for that number instead. What is going on?

Thank you for much for looking into it. I am doing a sql query with a csv file, because I would like to only select rows that meet certain criteria, and I would like to make my code more transparent when I convert the program to query a real database table instead of a csv file
It seems like the values are not being read into an variant correctly. If you look at the variant, you will see that the values are incorrect. Is it possible that when the subvi read the csv file, it doesn't know what format the values are supposed to be in and misread them? Thanks!

Yes, I meant the CodePlex tracker for EF. As the code you are talking about is in the EF codebase, not in the SQLCE codebase. I had a closer look, and I think that Contains and StartsWith can be made to work based on the SQL Server implementation. And EndsWith
should at leats report "Not supported" instead of generating failing T-SQL.
Do not expect any changes to the SQLCE engine but the SQLCE EF provider code is fully supported by the team, I would imaging also to prove that EF is not SQL Server only.
BUT - in order to priovide a fix, which could be included in EF 6.1, PLEASE provide a simple repre project/unit tests with some failing ESQL code in it, I could end up contributing the fix, but do not know anything about ESQL.
I regularly contribute mainly SQLCE provider related fixes, and the EF team is very receptive to those, so I think there is a REAL chance of getting it fixed.

How to fetch the data from pl/sql table dynamically

Hi All, I have the requirement of comparing two db views data in pl/sql. So, I have bulk collect the view into pl/sql table. But, the issue is, It is expecting to provide the column name for comparison. But, in my case, column name is dynamic. So, i cannot provide the column name directly for comparison.
For eg: In my view t1_VW, i have 4 columns. stid, c1,c2,c3,c4 and similar structure for t2_vw

Presumably you are referring to the 'often heated' back-and-forth that sometimes goes on in the forums when people refer to ANY PL/SQL type using a term with the word 'table' in it?
Curious that you then show an example of a nested table!
type emp_tab is table of employees%rowtype;
The 'right term' for that is 'nested table'. The following would be an 'associative array' or 'index-by table'
type emp_tab is table of employees%rowtype INDEX BY PLS_INTEGER;
Those used to be called 'PL/SQL tables' or 'index-by tables' but 'associative array' is the current term used.
Associative Arrays
An associative array (formerly called PL/SQL table or index-by table) is a set of key-value pairs. Each key is a unique index, used to locate the associated value with the syntax variable_name(index).
The data type of index can be either a string type or PLS_INTEGER.
Since the Oracle docs often use 'PL/SQL table' or 'index-by table' it isn't unusual for someone asking a question to use those terms also. Technically the types may not be 'tables' but it's clear what they mean when they use the term.
In PL/SQL the term 'nested table' is still used even though the PL/SQL collection is not really a table. SQL does have nested tables where the data is actually stored in a table. The PL/SQL 'nested table' type can be used as the source/destination of the SQL data from a nested table so that may be why Oracle uses that term for the PL/SQL type.

In the database, a nested table is a column type that stores an unspecified number of rows in no particular order. When you retrieve a nested table value from the database into a PL/SQL nested table variable, PL/SQL gives the rows consecutive indexes, starting at 1.

Running data providers based on other data provider results in webi

Thank you all; this is a great place to look for answers whenever you stumble in BO.
I got a specific requirement for a Webi report. The report should display the associated metrics only when the total surveyed members are greater than 25, if not, N/A.
This requirement happens to be a new add on for the already existing report; the report was built with multiple providers, in which one of the providers gives the total surveyed members.
Is there any way that we can control the rest of the data providers based on the first data provider output. I donu2019t want to run the rest of the data providersu2014 as there are too many, and each takes quite a bit of timeu2014 if the surveyed members are less than or equal to 25.
We are on XI3.1 Sp3

As I would like to leverage the existing report, which perfectly works for the total members> 25 logic, I was asked to find a way to not to run the rest of the data providers to save db resources, provided if the total mbrs participated in the survey from the first data provider <25.
Is there any way that we can embed some case statement in the other data providers to make them run or throw an error message depending on member count?
To give some more understanding, I want to provide you the screen shots of the queries, but I am unable to paste those screen shots here .

I found the following Java code that might be of some help to you. I realize you are using .NET but this might push you down the right path.
The trick here is to use the Report Engine SDK to get the DataProvider of the DocumentInstance. Then, look at the SQLDataProvider to get your SQLContainer.

Failed to fetch data provider data. (LO 26306)

Hi,
We have created a webi report, which is having a date prompts.
The same webi report, we have used in xelsius using a live office connection.
In Xelsius, We have checked the box 'refresh on load', under usage tab.
When we run the xelsius dashboard, we are getting an "Failed to fetch data provider data. (LO 26306)".
Can anyone please help. why this error is getting. Is it because of prompts which are there in webi report.
Basically, our requirement is when the user runs the dashboard, prompts should be displayed. User will enter the prompts and based on that, dash board should get display.

Change the Live Office documentation to clearly state that before importing a Live Office document within Xcelsius the Live Office document has to be opened in Excel and the 'Refresh All objects' triggered. Try NATIVE SQL statements in your abap code otherwise you can try to establish jdbc connection from ABAP program.

Oracle Data Provider (ODP) Passing Arrays to PL/SQL

Does anyone know how to pass an array or collection of data (from VB.net) to PL/SQL using the new Oracle Data Provider?
My PL/SQL procedure is accepting type Table (Table array).
This was easily done with Oracle Objects (in VB6) but I've found no way to do this with the new provider with .Net.
It seems like a serious limitation if it can't be done.
Anyones help would be appreciated.

Just out of interest, what are the performance implications of using REF CURSORS for retrieving resultsets from Oracle stored procedures via ODP.NET?
When coding the PL/SQL for these, the REF CURSOR is left OPEN and not explicitly CLOSED. When does the cursor actualy get closed? Is there a risk of reaching "maximum open cursors" or some other limit more quickly if REF CURSORS are used in this manner?
I haven't found any documentation of this issue as yet.

SQL function column in drop down list's data provider's query

Just wondering, if it is somehow possible to use SQL function column for drop down list through data provider.
At the moment, I am using id column as return value and name as display value from this query through CachedRowSetDataProvider:

However, I want to change display to use calculated column as display value, for example Name_PostalCode from below mentioned changed query:

Custom Data Provider Not Registered in Report Server (Sql Server 2012)

We have a simple test report project set up and can preview the reports with no errors or problems from the designer. We can deploy the report project, but when trying to view the reports from the browser, we get the following error:
An error as occurred during report processing, (rsProcessingAborted)
An attempt has been made to use a data extension 'LiMeDAS' that is either not registered for this report server or is not supported in this edition of Reporting Services. (rsDataExtensionNotFound)
I have followed this article that explained how to register a data provider extension:

We have the data extension set up perfectly for the designer, because I can see it as a type of connection and the preview works in the designer.
But, for some reason it does not work in the server. They were set up the same way, but the server will not work. From the report manager page, when we try to add a data source, the only type option is Sql Server, none of the other extensions mentioned in
the config file. Does anyone know what else could cause this issue?

According to the error message and the issue can be caused by the edition of your SSRS is not support for the custom data provider. For example the express edition have limitation support on this:
Features Supported by the Editions of SQL Server 2012 .
If your edition is the supportted edition and the issue can be caused by the custom data provider do not necessarily support all the functionality supplied by Reporting Services data processing extensions. In addition, some OLE DB data providers and ODBC
drivers can be used to author and preview reports, but are not designed to support reports published on a report server. For example, the Microsoft OLE DB Provider for Jet is not supported on the report server. For more information, see
Data Processing Extensions and .NET Framework Data Providers (SSRS).
If you are running on a 32-bit platform, the data provider must be compiled for a 32-bit platform. If you are running on a 64-bit platform, the data provider must be compiled for the 64-bit platform. You cannot use a 32-bit data provider wrapped with 64-bit
interfaces on a 64 bit platform.

Web Template is not able to fetch data from Data Provider

hi friends,
           i have created a reporting agent for a particular query and given all the necessary parameters, defined the variants and activated this and created a scheduling package to this ,assigned my query to the scheduling package
           later in the web template,in the web item tab i maintained the read mode as precalculated web template and the final report on the web is saying web tempalte is not able to get the data from the data provider ,
am i missing any where...
