SQL INSERT permission denied on object Error

Hi,
I am new to Sql server in fact i've only been using it for the last two hours , the create database and create table statements worked fine,
I am now trying to insert, delete, and update some records on SQLSERVER 2000, and i am getting this error for each insert , update or delete statement nowing that the syntax is ok.
It is a permission problem, I 've heard that there is a Grant method can anyone tell me how to use it
ps: i am unsing sqlserver 2000

go to enterprise manager right clike on the table and change the permission in ALL TASKS
r change the database owner to the user id u r using
EXEC sp_changedbowner '<user>'

There are a number of places I found with the information in the following
link:

In
my specific case, the RsExecRole role in both the "master" and "msdb" databases
had had both the "NT Authority\Network Service" and "NTAuthority\System" logins
removed from its members (the RSExecRole had had all its members removed by
someone doing some maintenance). I compared another Reporting Services
installation on another server after reading information in the above
link.
Steps:
1. In Mangement Studio connect to the SQL Server instance
on which Reporting Services runs.
2. Databases > system Databases
3.
master > Security > Roles > RSExecRole (then add whatever logins are
required... check in the ReportServer or ReportServerTempDB databases if you're
not sure)
4. msdb > Security > Roles > RSExecRole (add the same
logins you did to the master DB)
In the end you need the same logins in
RSExecRole role for the master, msdb, ReportServer, and ReportServerTempDB
databases. ("ReportServer" is the default Reporting Services database name, in
case that's not clear ;)

EXECUTE permission denied on object 'xp_sqlagent_enum_jobs'

Hello. I am running SQL 2005 SP2 (9.0.3282) on a Windows 2003 SP2 Enterprise server. I have three users that I have assigned the three SQL Server Agent roles within the msdb system database so that they may manage jobs that they own. Recently they started seeing this error:
The EXECUTE permission was denied on the object 'xp_sqlagent_enum_jobs', dartabase 'mssqlsystemresource', schema 'sys'. (Microsoft SQL Server, Error: 229)
I have other servers that have SQL server configured the same where we are not seeing the errors.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

After you move the msdb database, you may receive the following error message:
Error 229: EXECUTE permission denied on object 'ObjectName', database 'master', owner 'dbo'.
This problem occurs because the ownership chain has been broken. The database owners for the msdb database and for the master database are not the same. In this case, the ownership of the msdb database had been changed. To work around this problem, run the following Transact-SQL statements. You can do this by using the Osql.exe command-line utility (SQL Server 7.0 and SQL Server 2000) or the Sqlcmd.exe command-line utility (SQL Server 2005):

Permission denied on object 'PSOPRDEFN' database 'FSCM' schema 'dbo'

Hi,
I get the following error when i try to login in 2 tier thru App Designer.
SELECT permission denied on object 'PSOPRDEFN' database 'FSCM' schema 'dbo'...Just to give a little background...Since i was installing PS FSCM 9 on my new machiine, I did not create a new DB, as I had the mdf and ldf files from my earlier machine. All i did was to add the DB thru SQL Server management studio. I have executed the grant and connect.sql. Both have executed successfully. But I am still unable to login. I also tried altering the authorization on my DB, but that did not work either

I was installing PS FSCM9 on my new personal machine. Since I had my "MDF" and "LDF" files for FSCM 9 DB (from my previous machine), I did not create a new DB for my new Install of PeopleTools. I simply copied the DB files to my new machine.
I can login into the DB using sa/sa1. But when I try logging in using App Designer in 2 Tier, it pops up the error mentioned. I ran the Grant/connect sql's again, but that did not help. i did run alter authorization script for the 3 tables PSACCESSPRFL, PSSTATUS and PSOPRDEFN, and granted them access to people, but that did not work out.

Permission denied remote socket ERROR when creating outgoing PROVIDER

Hi,
I am having issues in the outgoing provider.
My Stellent 7.5 is installed on a linux box with ip address 182.30.190.28 and hostname of pc-prd-st and the URL to access this is http://pc-prd-st/stellent_pr/
I have installed two instances of Content Server 10gR3 on a different linux box with ip address 182.30.190.38 and hostname of poc-dev-prd-cs. There are 2 instances of Content Server 10gR3 running on this box. One is for dev and one is for prod. Here are the URL's to access both

dev_idc admin port=5440 and contentserver port=5444
prod_idc admin port=4440 and contentserver port=4444
Now on my Stellent 7.5 version that is running on 182.30.190.28 I created an outgoing provider to connect to http://poc-dev-prd-cs/prod_idc/ which is my prod instance of 10gR3 and here are the values I have when creating a provider:
Provider Name: ucm10gProdProvider
Provider Description: Provider for connecting to poc-dev-prd-cs PROD Instance
Provider Type: outgoing
Provider Class: intradoc.provider.SocketOutgoingProvider
Provider Connection: intradoc.provider.SocketOutgoingConnection

But when I test this provider it's giving the following error:

As I have verified all the instances are up and running. I restarted both the servers several times but still the same error. As I also have one more out going provider that connects to the test instance which is on different box and it works for that. But some how not for my the new prod_idc. Any ideas what might be wrong.

Add the config entry SocketHostAddressSecurityFilter to config.cfg with the IP addresses that you want to let access the CS . It should be like this :
SocketHostAddressSecurityFilter=127.0.0.1|10.177.*.*|10.229.175.167
After this restart the CS and test it out.

SQL Insert Statement Data Type Mismatch Error

I am doing a very simple web application that has a Microsoft Access database as the data source. I have been able to sucessfully create update and query statements using parameters but am having issues with an insert statement. I am using JSTL 1.1.2
The following code creates the data type mismatch error.

     sql="insert into tblTtoF(TFToolID,TFFeatID) values(?,?)">
        <sql:param value='$(ID}'/>
     <sql:param value='${feature}'/>
        </sql:update>The table has NUMBER as the data type for both of these fields and the variables I am feeding into it are both numbers. If I hard code the first number into the sql statement then it works. I have tried swapping the variables around and as long as the first one is hard coded the parameter for the second one works no matter which is first or second.
However I can get the following code to work, which of course leaves me vulnerable to sql injection attacks which is not really a good thing.

Permission denied Create object orasession

I am using win2k with oracle 9i.
i am tring to use oo4o with asp and getting the following error
Microsoft VBscript runtime(0x800a0046)
Permision denied :'CreateObject'
line 19
and line 19 in asp is :
set Orasession = CreateObject ("OracleInProcServer.XOraSession")
I have got full access for internet user on oracle home direcorty !!
It is really urgent !!

Firefox exits with CreateDirectoryAtPath: Permission denied error

I just downloaded and installed Firefox from
.../firefox/releases/latest-8.0/linux-x86_64/en-US/firefox-8.0.tar.bz2
When exiting, I get the following error messages
CreateDirectoryAtPath: Permission denied
RemoveFilesRecursively: stat: Permission denied
These specific messages are repeated about 6 times each.
The problem does not exist for all users.
I can reproduce the problem at will. The easiest way is to login as
the problematic user, start up firefox and then immediately close
with Ctrl+Q.
$ /opt/firefox-8.0/firefox/firefox
CreateDirectoryAtPath: Permission denied
RemoveFilesRecursively: stat: Permission denied
$
Note: the error messages don't appear until I "Quit."
Also there is a child zombie process. Both processes disappear on exit.
$ ps -fu user
user 2756 1744 3 14:50 pts/1 /opt/firefox-8.0/firefox/firefox
user 2757 2756 0 14:50 pts/1 [firefox] <defunct>
The popup
Help -> About Firefox
says
Firefox 8.0
And the result of
Check for update

Select permission denied in RPD

I am mapping data in my rpd file and cannot view data or update row counts for almost all of my tables in the database.
I am running obiee 11g on my local machine connected to an sql server database.
The error I receive is "Select permission denied on object...". I have talked with the DBA and I should have sufficient privileges for my project.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Yes Venkat is right,You don't have privileges for that table,You can always find out your own effective permission on any object by using fn_my_permissions('table_name', 'OBJECT')

EXECUTE permission denied

Im getting the following error when querying a database :

Is it because the user use to access in the comunication channel does not have rights on the given databse / table or something else as well ??

yes right.
the user which you use in the JDBC Adapter isn't allowed to execute the stored procedure.

Permission Denied when trying to Save or Save As

I don't know what I did to make it happen. I added a couple of new text boxes and now it won't let me save. Sometimes it says something about Myriad Pro being the default (and I'm ok with that). Here is my error log:

Just as I was typing out that that could not be the problem as I'm the only one that would ever work on it and I have definitely closed out of it ... it occured to me ... check my task manager to see if it's being held open somewhere ... sure enough ... it was. I have no idea why, but it doesn't surprise me. I am not a big fan of Adobe, but because we need it in our every day life I can't stop using it.

Terminal returning "permission denied"

Hello,
I am trying to use the Terminal Utility on my macbook to locate all of my music files because I think they are in various folders and want to get everything into one place.
I was told to use sudo /usr/libexec/locate.updatedb, but then it asks for my password and when I put it in it returns this:

forget about terminal. In the Finder, open a window to your home folder, type command-F to get a search window, then set the pull down menus to say 'kind', 'Music', 'mp3'. This will show all the music files anywhere in your home folder, and you can select all and drag them to whatever folder you like.
I'm not sure you really want to do this, though. Putting all your music files in one folder is a huge mess - better to let iTunes organize them in folders for you.

PL/SQL Permission Denied Error

I am trying to learn how to automate some SQL and in general just new PL/SQL things.

XML File in External Table - OS error permission denied.

10g R2, Red Hat Linux
I'm using the article (see below, taken from http://www.dbazine.com/olc/olc-articles/scardina1 by Mark Scardina) to create an external table where I'd store my XML file.
So, I
1. Created a directory xmlfile_dir
2. Granted access to needed db user
3. Created the table
CREATE TABLE relayxml_xt (doc CLOB)
ORGANIZATION EXTERNAL
TYPE ORACLE_LOADER
DEFAULT DIRECTORY xmlfile_dir
ACCESS PARAMETERS
FIELDS (lobfn CHAR TERMINATED BY ',')
COLUMN TRANSFORMS (doc FROM lobfile (lobfn))
LOCATION ('xml.dat')
REJECT LIMIT UNLIMITED;
4. mv relay.xml /xmlfile_dir/xml.dat
When I run SELECT * FROM relayxml_xt I get this:

Using External Tables
Introduced in Oracle9i, Oracle’s external table feature offers a solution to define a table in the database while leaving the data stored outside of the database. Prior to Oracle Database 10g, external tables can be used only as read-only tables. In other words, if you create an external table for XML files, these files can be queries and the table can be joined with other tables. However, no DML operations, such as INSERT, UPDATE, and DELETE, are allowed on the external tables.
Note: In Oracle Database 10g , by using the ORACLE_DATAPUMP driver instead of the default ORACLE_DRIVER, you can write to external tables. In Oracle Database 10g, you can define VARCHAR2 and CLOB columns in external tables to store XML documents. The following example shows how you can create an external table with a CLOB column to store the XML documents. First, you need to create a DIRECTORY to read the data files:
CREATE DIRECTORY data_file_dir AS 'D:\xmlbook\Examples\Chapter9\src\xml';
GRANT READ, WRITE ON DIRECTORY data_file_dir TO demo;
Then, you can use this DIRECTORY to define an external table:

FROM customer_xt;
Though the query requires run-time XMLType creation and XPath evaluation, this approach is useful when applications just need a few queries on the XML data and don’t want to upload the XML data into database. In Oracle Database 10g, you cannot create external tables that contain pre-defined XMLType column types.

Your don't have the proper operating system privileges. Be sure that you (=oracle OS user / the OS Linux user that is starting the database) are allowed have read privs on the path and/or file.
for example...
chown -Rf /xxxxxxx/xxxx/etc
ls -l file.xml
file.xml    oracle:oinstall    rw-rw-rw

I am getting the following error message while connecting with the MySQL .(O/S :Sun OS 5.6)
Error.....java.sql.SQLException: Invalid authorization specification: Access denied for user: 'some_user&password@localhost' (Using password: NO)
Note that i have given all permission to the user using,
GRANT ALL PRIVILEGES .......................

1.2 User "root", password "works"
1.3 I have the following sentence to connect it using JDBC

but I have this environment to develop applications, now that I want to connect to Production Environment happens the following:
2 The Production database is mounted on a Linux Server with MySQL 3.2.
2.1 I change the sentences as follow:

2.3 But a message appears when I run the Java Program:
java.sql.SQLException:Access denied for user: '[email protected]' (Using password: YES)
2.4 As you can see it changes the IP Address...
More notes:- I have the MySQL Query Browser and I got connection.
- The IP that display the Error Message is my Second IP configurated on my Network Properties.
- Server is a Pentium 4 3.0 GHz 2Gb Linux Red Hat 3.0
I leave this case for the spider... I hope that somebady has the solution.
What is the problem? Why the JDBC doesn't respect the IP that I wrote.
