SQL loader from froms 9i

hi,
can any one tell me how to call sql loader from forms 9i
thanks
vikram.

Hi,
How to execute SQLLDR from web forms in IAS.
You need to set the ORACLE_HOME to the one which has sqlldr.
You can create a DOS BAT file like this for Windows and call this
using the HOST built-in.
If you are using this on web then the HOST will execute in the
Application Server machine. So, files should be in that machine.
REM=======For Windows===============
REM filename Mysqlldr.BAT
REM my file to execute sqlldr
set ORACLE_HOME=D:\oracle\iSuites
set PATH=D:\oracle\iSuites\bin;%PATH%
sqlldr scott/tiger@l817 D:\Mycontrol.ctl DATA=mydata.dat LOG=mylog.log BAD=mybad.log
REM======================
Similarily, you can create a Shell script for UNIX system.

    How Can I Run a SQL Loader Job from Schedular , So that It Runs every Day.

    Depends on a couple of factors.
    If you are on a UNIX platform, you can create a shell script and schedule it with cron.
    If you are on a Windows platform, you can create a batch file and schedule it with the Windows scheduler.
    Or, if you are on Oracle 9i or 10g, you could use the external table feature instead of SQL*Loader. Then you could write a stored procedure to process the external table and schedule it using the Oracle scheduler (DBMS_JOB). This would probably be my preference.

    The trick is to create a wrapper script that is referred to by the PROGRAM object with arguments. The wrapper should do the work.
    /usr/local/bin/do_sqlldr.sh:
    #!/usr/bin/env ksh
    # setup actions
    sqlldr control=...
    Don't forget to check who is the owner of $ORACLE_HOME/bin/extjob and that the owner is available.
    My question is how this can be fitted in an DTAP environment where Developement and Test environment are on the same server and have the same job definitions. Development and Test should use different datafile and logfile locations.

    Hi,
    I did something like that on 8i with java.
    Wrote a simple java proc that runs unix commands, which gets called by a plsql proc.
    If you want details, please post back.

  • Calling SQL*Loader from OCCI

    Hi All,
    I need to access SQL*Loader from C++.
    I know there is an interface for OCI to access SQL*Loader.
    I also know there is a gnu project of a c++ wrapper to the OCI-SQL*Loader interface (odpd).
    According to the OCCI documentation it is just a C++ facade of OCI (with some goodies like thread managing , etc.).
    I want to know the following:
    1. How can I operate OCI from OCCI?
    2. Are there are source samples of operating OCI from OCCI or even better operating OCI SQL*Loader interface from OCCI?
    3. Are there are any known (/unknown :-) ) problems with either OCCI access to OCI or OCI interface itself to the SQL*Loader?
    Thanks,
    Arik

    Hi,
    If you have a OCCI application and you want to interoperate with OCI, you can retrieve the underlying OCI handles from OCCI objects and write OCI code.
    e.g :-
    //with Environment env, Connection conn OCCI objects
    OCIEnv *ocienv = env->getOCIEnv();
    OCISvcCtx *ocisvc = conn->getOCISvcCtx();
    //use OCI calls
    OCIError *errhp;
    OCIHandleAlloc (ocienv, &errhp, OCI_HTYPE_ERROR,...);
    OCIHandleAlloc (ocienv, &dpctx, OCI_HTYPE_DIRPATH_CTX,..);
    err = OCIDirPathLoadStream(...);
    OCCI does not have a direct path API at present.
    Thanks.

  • Need help to run sql loader from Form6i

    Hi All,
    I have some problem with the sql loader running from form 6i.
    I have done following steps for that.
    1. have created bat file to run sql loader.
    2.Alos created ctl and txt files inside the same folder.
    In the form , in button press i have written below code
    HOST('cmd /c C:\load1.bat > C:\output.txt');
    But it is giving error as -
    "Unable to open Load1.ctl."
    but i have run that bat files from command prompt ; and it is running fine.
    I guess probably it is not getting the correct path.
    Will pls help me, wt exacly I'm doing wrong?
    Rg,
    Subir

    Hi Francois,
    Thanks for reply.
    It is not a problem with the batch files. Coz, I just able to run batch files, but that is not correct solution.
    Once the host command id firing, that time it is going to path -
    "c:\orant\Form60\"
    And in this path it searching for that batch files and all the require files; but the require files are present in some different folder. So i think I need to change the path as well, but that I'm unable to do.
    To resolve the problem, I have copied all the files in "c:\orant\Form60\" folder, and then it is working.
    So I think I need to changed the path, so how to change the path. If I able to change the path I think it will worked. How to change the path?
    Best Rg,
    Subir

    Probably not the best way, but you could try using JNI to call a C function which then invokes SQL Loader via system() or exec(). I haven't done this myself though...

  • SQL Loader fails loading XML data enclosed by tag not found

    The problem I'm having is my XML tree doesn't contain all possible elements. In this example the second entry doesn't contain <age> - only the first entry will be added to the database
    Any idea of how I could solve this?
    The fields are saved as varchar2
    XML:
    <rowset>
    <row>
    <name>Name</name>
    <age>Age</age>
    <city>City</city>

    <row>
    <name>Name2</name>
    <city>City2</city>
    </row>

    name ENCLOSED BY "<name>" AND "</name>",
    age ENCLOSED BY "<age>" AND "</age>",

  • SQL Loader, CLOB, delimited fields

    Hello.
    I have to load using SQL Loader data from csv file into table, which one field is CLOB type.
    Here is how ctl file initially looked like:
    UNRECOVERABLE
    LOAD DATA
    INFILE '.\csv_files\TSH_DGRA.csv'
    BADFILE '.\bad_files\TSH_DGRA.bad'
    DISCARDFILE '.\dsc_files\TSH_DGRA.dsc'
    APPEND
    INTO TABLE TSH_DGRA
    FIELDS TERMINATED BY ',' OPTIONALLY ENCLOSED BY '"'
    TRAILING NULLCOLS
    ID_OBJ_TSHD,
    PR_ZOOM_TSHD,
    PR_GRID_TSHD,
    PR_ELMGR_TSHD CHAR(4000) OPTIONALLY ENCLOSED BY '<clob>' AND '</clob>',
    PR_ALRMGR_TSHD CHAR(4000) OPTIONALLY ENCLOSED BY '<clob>' AND '</clob>'
    Problems are fields PR_ELMGR_TSHD and PR_ALRMGR_TSHD (CLOBs in table TSH_DGRA). Until data which should be loaded into CLOB fields are under 4000 characters long, it works fine, but what should I do if I want to load data which are longer than 4000 characters?
    If found on Link:[http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B14117_01/server.101/b10825/ldr_loading.htm#i1006803] which one sentence said that:
    "SQL*Loader defaults to 255 bytes when moving CLOB data, but a value of up to 2 gigabytes can be specified. For a delimited field, if a length is specified, that length is used as a maximum. If no maximum is specified, it defaults to 255 bytes. For a CHAR field that is delimited and is also greater than 255 bytes, you must specify a maximum length. See CHAR for more information about the CHAR datatype."
    So, my question is, how to specify "up to 2gb" as text said? I can not use CHAR datatype because it is limited to 4000 characters. And I have to load about 60000 characters. I also can not use technique where all data for every CLOB field are in separate files.

    Just specify the maximum expected size:
    PR_ELMGR_TSHD CHAR(100000) OPTIONALLY ENCLOSED BY '<clob>' AND '</clob>',
    PR_ALRMGR_TSHD CHAR(1000000) OPTIONALLY ENCLOSED BY '<clob>' AND '</clob>'
    The CHAR(1000000) will allow SQLLDR to handle up to 1000000 bytes of input text.

  • Remotly acess of SQL loader

    We have two oracle servers.
    Server A.
    Server B.
    And end user machine.on this machine we only has net service with server A.
    We select and insert our data from server B using Db link.
    Now on end user machine as I mention we don’t have connection service of server B then how I run my SQL loader utility from end user using DB link or some thing else in order to load data into server B.
    Thanks
    faheem

    I don't have an environment at the moment to test this, but I would expect that your SQL*Loader control file could simply refer to target_table@database_link or that you could create a synonym on A for target_table@database_link and load the data into that synonym. Assuming, of course, that your data file is relatively vanilla (I'd expect that loading into LOBs over a database link would fail, for example).
    Again, I'm not guaranteeing this will work, but I don't see any reason off the top of my head that it wouldn't.

  • Invokin SQL*Loader from a stored procedure

    I try to invoke SQL*LOADER from within a database package by using external C procedure (the procedure calls the system() C function) but the loader generates the following error in its log file :
    SQL*Loader -523: error -2 writing to file (STDERR)
    and no data is uploaded.
    I have tried to use system() from within database procedures to execute OS commands and it works. Does anyone know what is the problem with using system() to execute "sqlldr <parameters>"? Is there some other way to call the loader from within a stored PL/SQL procedure?
    Thank you very much for your help.

    Hi
    What is your task and why you are trying to invoke SQL*Loader from strorage procedure or package? Maybe the redirecting of stderr will resolve your problem but thik is it the best way to do your job.
    I am not sure, that invoking other executables from Oracle instance is good idea.

  • Problem in Loading Data from SQL Server 2000 to Oracle 10g

    Hi All,
    I am a university student and using ODI for my final project on real-time data warehousing. I am trying to load data from MS SQL Server 2000 into Oracle 10g target table. Everything goes fine until I execute the interface for the initial load. When I choose the CKM Oracle(Create unique index on the I$ table) km, the following step fails:

    <%=snpRef.getObjectName( "L" , "SQ_PRJ_DIM_REGION" , "D" )%>.nextval
    I have chosen to execute this code on target.
    Among my attempts to solve this problem was to set Create Index option of the CKM Oracle(Create Index for the I$ Table) to No so that it wont create any index on the flow table. I also tried to use the simple CKM Oracle km . Both solutions allowed the interface to execute successfully without any errors, but the data was not loaded into the target table.
    When I right-click on the Prj_Dim_Region data store and choose Data, it shows empty. Pressing the SQL button in this data store shows a dialog box " New Query" where I see this query:

    Hi Cezar,
    Can u plz help me with this scenario?
    I have one Oracle data model with 19 source tables and one SQL Server data model with 10 target tables. I have created 10 interfaces which use JournalizedDataOnly on one of the tables in the interface; e.g in interface for DimCustomer target table, I have 2 tables, namely Customer and Address, but the journalizing filter appear only on Customer table and this option is disabled for Address automatically.
    Now I want to create a package using OdiWaitForLog event detection. Is it possible to put all these 10 interfaces in just one package to populate the target tables? It works fine when I have only one interface and I use the name of one table in the interface for Table Name parameter of OdiWaitForLogData event, but when I try a comma seperated list of table names[Customer, Address] this error happens
    java.sql.SQLException: ORA-00942: table or view does not exist
    and if I use this method <%=odiRef.getObjectName("L","model_code","logical_schema","D")%>, I get this error
    "-CDC_SET_NAME=Exception getObjectName("L", "model_code", "logical_schema", "D") : SnpLSchema.getLSchemaByName : SnpLschema does not exist" "
    Please let me know how to make it work?
    Do I need to create separate data models each including only those tables which appear in their corresponding interface and package? Or do I need to create multiple packages each with only one journalized interface to populate only one target table?
    Thank you for your time in advance.
    Regards,
    Neel

    Thanks for any help with this one!

    I changed one line of the function to:
    RETURN CHAR IS mco_id VARCHAR2(16);
    But I still get the same error:
    ORA-12899: value too large for column "TESTM8"."LET_DRIVE_IN_FCLTY"."DIF_CSA_ID" (actual: 30, maximum: 16)
    I just am not seeing what is being defined as 30 characters. Any ideas much appreciated!
