SQL query to find primary key

Can anyone suggest a query that would return all of the columns in the primary key of a table? Information on why I'm asking can be found below.
I'm currently using the following query, but it won't work right if there are unique indexes on the table besides the primary key.
"select column_name from all_ind_columns c, all_indexes i where c.index_owner = i.owner and c.index_name = i.index_name and i.table_owner = {me} and i.table_name = {table_name} and uniqueness = 'UNIQUE'"
The reason I'm interested in the primary key is I need to merge the contents of table A into a table B with the same structure, and before I can do this I need to delete any rows that will cause insertion to fail.

In the column for constrain_type P is for primary key and R is for Foreign key
COLUMN TABLE_NAME NEW_VALUE TT_TAB NOPRINT
TTITLE 'TABLE: ' TT_TAB SKIP1
break on table_name skip page on constraint_name on constraint_type
COLUMN CONSTRAINT_NAME FORMAT A35
COLUMN COLUMN_NAME FORMAT A35
COLUMN REF_TAB_COL FORMAT A35
COLUMN POSITION NOPRINT
SELECT a.table_name, A.CONSTRAINT_NAME, B.COLUMN_NAME, B.POSITION,
       a.constraint_type, NULL REF_TAB_Col
FROM USER_CONSTRAINTS A, USER_CONS_COLUMNS B
WHERE A.CONSTRAINT_TYPE='P'
  AND A.CONSTRAINT_NAME = B.CONSTRAINT_NAME
UNION
select a.table_name, A.constraint_name, C.COLUMN_NAME, C.POSITION,
       a.constraint_type, B.TABLE_NAME||'.'|| B.COLUMN_NAME
from USER_constraints A, USER_IND_COLUMNS B, USER_CONS_COLUMNS C
where A.CONSTRAINT_TYPE = 'R'
  AND A.R_CONSTRAINT_NAME = B.INDEX_NAME
  AND A.CONSTRAINT_NAME = C.CONSTRAINT_NAME(+)
ORDER BY 1,2,4 ;

  • How i can Find primary key combination?

    Hi,
I have small doubt how i can find primary key combination for a record in siebel application.( For example Opportunity list applet or Account list applet or etc.. what is the primary key combination and how i can find that combination for a particular record)
    Thanks & Regards

    Hi
From the applet Identify the Business Component (BC)
From the BC idnetify the table, and the property user key sesuence will give you the proper combination. Column conflic_id is used for handling remote synchronization.
For BC based on S_PARTY, such as COntact, the table mentionned in User PRop will give your the main table used in this case.

    Hi All,
Can anybody provide the SQL query to find the documents (document name) uploaded in a particular folder? While clicking on folder in

    Nevin,
Be great if we could know the version of Portal. For Rel. 1, here's the query
    select id,masterthingid from wwv_things
    where siteid = &site
    and cornerid = &corner
    &site - Content Area id
    &corner - Folder id
if you don't know the folder id, use
select id from wwv_corners where siteid = &site
    and name = &folder
Hope this helps. I have run into this situation before. Usually, the culprits were
    one of the following:
    1. Junk Characters in description of item (caused due to Copy-Paste)
    2. Special Characters in the File name

    I have migrated my SCCm 2007 environment to SCCM 2012 SP1 CU4.
I noticed in the System Status\Component Status\SMS_STATE_SYSTEM a lot of errors like the one below:
Microsoft SQL Server reported SQL message 2627, severity 14: [23000][2627][Microsoft][SQL Server Native Client 11.0][SQL Server]Violation of PRIMARY KEY constraint 'DeploymentSummary_PK'. Cannot insert duplicate key in object 'dbo.DeploymentSummary'. The duplicate key value is (1, 0, S0220438, 0). : spUpdateClassi
Please refer to your Configuration Manager documentation, SQL Server documentation, or the Microsoft Knowledge Base for further troubleshooting information.
When looking up the deployment ID and recreate the Deployment the problem is solved. But I have 700 packages and don't want to manually do this action on all packages. I think it is related to the migration i did and something went wrong there :-(
Besides it will retriggers the deployment to the clients which is also not preferred.
Is there another way to solve this by e.e.g do something directly in the SQL database tables ?

    Hi,
It is not supported by Microsoft that do something directly in SQL database.
If you want to do that, you could make a call to CSS.

  • SQL query to find sqlnet.ora parameters

    Hi All,
    I am working 11g RAC /solaris 9
I want have sql query to find values of sqlnet.ora parameters
    May be values of SQLNET.INBOUND_CONNECT_TIMEOUT
    SQLNET.SEND_TIMEOUT, SQLNET.RECV_TIMEOUT
    Thanks
    raj

The sqlnet.ora file is the profile configuration file. It resides on the client machines and the database server.
Profiles are stored and implemented using this file. The database server can be configured with access control parameters in the sqlnet.ora file.
These parameters specify whether clients are allowed or denied access based on the protocol.
The sqlnet.ora file enables you to do the following:
Specify the client domain to append to unqualified names
    Prioritize naming methods
    Enable logging and tracing features
    Route connections through specific processes
    Configure parameters for external naming
    Configure Oracle Advanced Security
Use protocol-specific parameters to restrict access to the database
By default, the sqlnet.ora file is located in the ORACLE_HOME/network/admin directory. The sqlnet.ora file can also be stored in the directory specified by the TNS_ADMIN environment variable.
You can not query on this file sqlnet.ora as tnsnames.ora file.

    Thanks,

Use transaction SE11 to display the table. Put the cursor on the field you want to display the check table and click 'Foreign key' push button (a key with an bottom point arrow), then it will show the check table of the foreign of a field.
Or by just simple double click on the field, a pop-up window of all the attribute (including the foreign key and the check table if exists) will show too.

  • Dynamic SQL Query to Find Special Characters in Table columns

    Hi,
I am new to OTN FORUMS.
I am trying to find the columnsi of a table which have special characters in them.
I am planning on using this query
    select ' select INSTR('||column_name||', chr(0))
    from '||table_name||'where INSTR('||column_name||', chr(0)) >0' from user_tab_columns
    where table_name='Account'
and spool the output to run as a script.
Is this the right way or do u suggest any modifications to the query?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
I think your basic approach is right. Since you can't hard-code the table- or column names into the query, you'll need dynamic SQL.
Instead SQL-from-SQL (that is, writing a pure SQL query, whose output is SQL code), you could do the whole job in PL/SQL, but I don't see any huge advantage either way.
When you say "Special character<b>s</b>", do you really mean "one given special character" (in this case, CHR(0))?
Will you ever want to search for multiple special characters at once?
What if table foo has a column bar, and in 1000 rows of foo, bar contains CHR (0). Do you want 1000 rows of output, each showing the exact position of the first CHR(0)? If the purpose is to look at theese rows later, shouldn't you include the primary key in the output? What if CHR(0) occurs 2 or more times in the same string?
If you'd rather have one row of output, that simply says that the column foo.bar sometimes contains a CHR(0), then you could do something like this:
    SELECT     'foo',     'bar'
    FROM     dual
    WHERE     EXISTS (
                SELECT  NULL
                FROM       foo
                WHERE       INSTR ( bar
                            , CHR (0)
                        ) > 0
                );
