SQL refresh

I got a problem when I collect data from a MS Sql server database with the Database Connectivity toolset.
The data I get is not all correct.
I got these data
AdjustedQuantityPerExpanded   OrderQuantity   ComponentItemNumber   ComponentItemDescription     TotalQuantityRequired
1                                                         10                        60001929                             CONN SL M 4 LEADED            10
1                                                         10                        60001929                             CONN SL M 4 LEADED            10
1                                                         10                        60001929                             CONN SL M 4 LEADED            10
1                                                         10                        60001929                             CONN SL M 4 LEADED            10
But the correct data should look like this.
AdjustedQuantityPerExpanded   OrderQuantity   ComponentItemNumber   ComponentItemDescription     TotalQuantityRequired
1                                                         10                        60001929                             CONN SL M 4 LEADED            10
1                                                         10                        60001929                             CONN SL M 4 LEADED            10
3                                                         10                        60001929                             CONN SL M 4 LEADED            30
1                                                         10                        60001929                             CONN SL M 4 LEADED            10
I have made the two query'es in Access.
With the right one I have made a RefreshLinks before the query.
The question is, how do I make a refresh in Labvview ?
I found this link in a SQL forum, but I'm very good translate textbased programming to Labview.
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;230588&Product=ado
Can anyone please help me ?
Here is a picture of the funktions I use in labview
I use:
Labview 6.1
Database connectivity toolset 1.0.1

Hi Bjarne,
Can you upload your VI and database file so I can test it on my computer? I can see from the picture, that you are trying to fetch data from Column 1. I assume that column is "TotalQuantityRequired", you can try to give it the correct return type. You can also try to use "DB Tools Fetch Recordset Data" function instead.
There is a more detailed explanation of how to fetching data with SQL functions in Labview at Database connectivity toolset manual (Chapter 5):
http://digital.ni.com/manuals.nsf/websearch/F0E03761C7F4ACB486256A3E00509BA9?OpenDocument
I have also found a Labview .llb, where there is a Database update.vi that you might can use for your application:
Updating Data in a Database Table Using the Database Connectivity Toolset: http://zone.ni.com/devzone/cda/epd/p/id/3150

  • Powerpivot filter query based on another table's visible results?

    Excel 2010 x32 on Win 7 x64
    I have multiple tables coming into Powerpivot via SQL connection. They have some relationships pre-defined from the source.
    I need to reduce the amount of data I'm bringing in for my testing. One of the tables has great granularity, containing every event in the database. One field in this data is "Event Type".
    A separate table has a short list of the event types of interest.
    I'd like to filter the first table's data pull (SQL refresh) to only include the event types that are listed (and visible) in the second table, in addition to an existing date range filter that is already in place. Ultimately my goal is to widen
    the date range I can pull in before hitting Excel's memory limits, by eliminating the events I don't care about.
    Currently I'm using a SQL query to pull in the granular data;
    SELECT
      [Fact RawData].*
    FROM
      [Fact RawData]
    WHERE
      [Fact RawData].[Event Date] >= N'2014-06-01T00:00:00'
    How would I adjust this to also say "only where [Fact RawData].[Event Type] IN {a column in a data pull that is already in powerpivot}"
    and how will that work under a "refresh all" scenario, where I would need the event table to update before this SQL is executed each time?
    Many thanks!

    If I understand correctly, these articles indicate that I can apply filters during
    data import, but I'm not clear how rows can be filtered during import based on
    another powerpivot table results. <o:p></o:p>
    From the first link:<o:p></o:p>
    "For data feeds, you can only change the columns that are imported. You can’t filter
    rows by values unless the source of the data feed is a report, and the report
    is parameterized."<o:p></o:p>
    So I guess the clarification of my original question is: How do I create a parameterized
    report, based on the data in another powerpivot table, and also ensure that the
    parameterized report is executed /after/ the source powerpivot table is
    refreshed so that the proper row filtering is applied?<o:p></o:p>
    Simplified example:<o:p></o:p>
    Table 1 = List of all physicians who have ever had a patient in a large hospital system.
    Filter when bringing results into powerpivot limits results to physicians from
    a target physician group, clinical specialty, or other filter based on reporting needs. <o:p></o:p>
    Table 2 = anonymized records for all patients, physician listed in each record. Filtered
    by time period when bringing into powerpivot.<o:p></o:p>
    I could bring back the whole patient table, but it is so large that Excel runs out of
    resources unless my time period is tiny. If I can limit the returned rows from
    Table 2 based on the current list of physicians shown in Table 1, then I will
    have a much smaller data set and can expand the time period filter to be more
    meaningful and make sure all the target records are brought back, without
    having to run multiple subsets of physicians or time, and still have to
    merge/remove duplicate records.<o:p></o:p>
    Thank you for any advice/URLs/etc.<o:p></o:p>

  • Unable to refresh SQL Server data source through Data Management Gateway

    I just installed the version 1.1.5226.8 of Data Management Gateway and tried to refresh a simple query on a table connected to SQL Server, with no transformations in Power Query.
    This is the error I obtain:
    Errors in the high-level relational engine. The following exception occurred while the managed IDataReader interface was being used: transfer service job status is invalid.
    I am wondering whether my Power BI is still not updated to handle such a connection type, or there could be something else not working?
    I correctly created the data source in admin panel following instructions in Release Notes, and
    test Power Query connection is ok.
    Marco Russo http://www.sqlbi.com http://www.powerpivotworkshop.com http://sqlblog.com/blogs/marco_russo

    I made other tests and I found important information (maybe there is a bug, but read the following).
    The functions DateTime.LocalNow and DateTime.FixedLocalNow
    work correctly, generating these statements to SQL Server:
        convert(datetime2, '2014-05-03 06:37:52.1135108') as [LocalNow],
        convert(datetime2, '2014-05-03 06:37:52.0525061') as [FixedLocalNow],
    The functions DateTimeZone.FixedLocalNow, DateTimeZone.FixedUtcNow,
    DateTimeZone.LocalNow, and DateTimeZone.UtcNow
    stop the scheduled refresh with the error I mentioned
    in my previous messages, generating these statements to SQL Server:
        '2014-05-03 06:37:52.0525061+02:00' as [TZFixedLocalNow],
        '2014-05-03 04:37:52.0525061+00:00' as [TZFixedUtcNow],
        '2014-05-03 06:37:52.1135108+02:00' as [TZLocalNow],
        '2014-05-03 04:37:52.1135108+00:00' as [TZUtcNow]
    I solved the issue by placing the DateTimeZone calls after a Table.Buffer call, so query folding does not translate in SQL these functions. However, it seems like something to fix.

    hi,
    >> this button of excel gets just address of web and have button for import it
         i test it by rest API project , but doesn't work, do you know how it is work?
    Do you mean that you don't know how to get the table? You may input the site address into the address box, and then click go button nearby, select the table you want to import into the Excel. Then click import button.That also works for  rest API,
    and your rest API should get the data that you want

  • Is there a simple way to refresh a SQL Query (Updatable report) region

    I have a page in APex 4.1 that has many regions. I would like to be able to refresh a single region.
    Currently, I have the following
    Region (sql query updateable report).
    STATIC ID = LANDINGS
    in the region footer, I have:
    <script type="text/javascript">
    $s('P110_LANDINGS_REGION_ID','#REGION_STATIC_ID#');
    </script>
    P110_LANDINGS_REGION_ID is a hidden field.
    I use javascript to refresh....but it does not seem to be working. Previously, we had hard-coded the region id ( $a_report('1363338167540162011','1','100','100');) ...but that ID was somehow corrupted, which has lead me to the 'OMG...there must be an easier way!' lament.
    the javascript is:
    $a_report('P110_LANDINGS_REGION_ID','1','100','100');
    thanks!
    Karen
    ps. could I just directly reference the static id in my javascript...
    $a_report('LANDINGS','1','100','100');

    Karen,
    First off: please post code in &#123;code&#125;...&#123;code&#125; tags!
    function AddFavoriteSpecies()
    get = new htmldb_Get(null,&APP_ID.,'APPLICATION_PROCESS=favorite_species_collection',0);
    gReturn = get.get();
    rowCount = rowCount + parseInt(gReturn);
    pHMS_add = '&G_HMS_FLAG.';
    $a_report('1363338167540162011','1','100','100');
    //$a_report($x('P110_LANDINGS_ID').value,'1','15','15');the statement:
    $a_report('1363338167540162011','1','100','100'); works, but the statement $a_report($x('P110_LANDINGS_ID').value,'1','15','15'); does not.
    Can anyone help.
    I am assigning the page field P110_LANDINGS_ID in the footer of a region with a static id = LANDINGS.
    <script type="text/javascript">
    $s('P110_LANDINGS_ID','#REGION_STATIC_ID#');
    </script>
    Well, let's start by dumping $a_report. This is undocumented code, and it has long been replaced by triggering a refresh.
    Next, don't use $x(pNode).value to retrieve a value. Rather use $v(pNode) to do this.
    function AddFavoriteSpecies()
       get = new htmldb_Get(null,&APP_ID.,'APPLICATION_PROCESS=favorite_species_collection',0);
       gReturn = get.get();
       rowCount = rowCount + parseInt(gReturn);
       pHMS_add = '&G_HMS_FLAG.';
       //get the region id from the item
       //use it in a jQuery selector to get the region
       //trigger the refresh event on this object
       $("#" + $v('P110_LANDINGS_ID')).trigger('apexrefresh');
    }Now if you want to make sure that P110_LANDINGS_ID contains a value, add an alert with its value before you use it.
    alert('P110_LANDINGS_ID value: '+$v('P110_LANDINGS_ID'))

  • Partially refresh the sql report region by clicking the region selector tab

    Hi,
    In my page i have a region display selector tab. This region selector tab contain show all,booking,service,.. etc. when i click the booking tab,sql report region will appear. My intention is when i click the booking tab i want to refresh that region partially to display the record according to sql query in that region source of report region.
    how to do this?
    skud.

    KevinFitz wrote:

    No, the region is not appearing because it is conditional on P2_QUERY being NOT NULL. This means that the report region never exists on the page shown in the browser, so it can't be dynamically refreshed. (Dynamic refresh doesn't evaluate region conditions, and it only re-renders the report content, not the entire region.)
    Remove the condition on the report region, check the refresh is working, then reconsider exactly what the requirements here are. If you want the region to appear only when P2_QUERY has a value, and you want it to be refreshed without submitting and re-rendering the page, then the region needs to be hidden rather than conditionally rendered, and shown via a dynamic action when P2_QUERY gets a value.
    I tried adding an additional Set Value True Action for the DA event but got an error as listed above,
    All irrelevant if Page Items to Submit on the region is used properly.

  • Refresh PL/SQL Report Region (not Page) using Select List value

    Hi,
    I've got a report region based on a 'PL/SQL function body returning a SQL query'which gets generated on selecting a value from a Select list item, The Select List action is 'Redirect and Set value' but this causes the whole page to refresh rather than just the report region. I've tried to refresh the report only using a dynamic action on the Select List item (Action now reset to  'None') but now the report is not appearing on choosing from the List. Can anyone suggest a solution that will allow me to refresh this report without refreshing the page? I am using APEX 4.2.2 and the report syntax is as follows:
    DECLARE
      v_statement VARCHAR2(500);
    BEGIN
      SELECT query_text
        INTO v_statement
       FROM sql_queries
       WHERE query_id = :P2_QUERY ;
       RETURN v_statement ;
    END ;
    where P2_QUERY is Select List Item,
    regards,
    Kevin.

  • SQL Report Region Refresh

    Application Express 4.0.2.00.09
    Oracle 11 XE
    How do I setup a Dynamic Action to refresh my region every X number of seconds? I can refresh the region easy enough on events, but I can't seem to figure out the timing thing. Maybe I just need some sleep...
    Austin

    Joe -
    Interestingly enough, I have not yet found a good way to alter the Report Region title with the last update time. I would think there is a way to do it, but I do not currenlty have that knowledge, nor the time to thoroughly investigate how to do it. I do have a bit to share about the mechanics of the refresh discussed earlier in this thread.
    Consider this code, place in the footer of a SQL Report Region:
    <script type="text/javascript">
    <!--
      var d = new Date();
      document.write("Last Updated: " + d);
      setInterval("jQuery('#INTRADAY_IRR').trigger('apexrefresh');", 2000);
    -->This will place the date as a footer to the SQL report. The javascript will then refresh the report every two seconds. (or whatever timeframe you specify) Now, in my SQL for my report, I added an additional column that is the current time. My SQL would look something like:
    SELECT foo,
            bar,
            to_char(sysdate, 'HH24:MI:SS') update_time
    FROM dualThis SQL will show when the data was last fetched from the database, while the footer of the region shows the time when the region was loaded by the browser.
    If you run the page with these, or similar, parameters, you will notice that the update_time column in the report changes with each refresh, however, the region footer does not change. This is because the script isn't called everytime the data is refreshed. This would indicate that using the methodology mentioned previously in this thread, the entire region is not refreshed but simply the dataset and the report itself. This would mean that you would have a quite difficult time updating the region title from the SQL code alone... I'm not saying it is impossible, I just don't know how to do it...
    Having said that- I do have a work around.
    Consider this as the region title:
    <div id="MyUpdatedReport" ></div>Now consider this code in the region header:
    <script type="text/javascript">
    function getUpdatedDate() {
      var d = new Date();
      document.getElementById('MyUpdatedReport').innerHTML="Region Title - Last Updated: " + d;
      t=setTimeout('getUpdatedDate()',2000);
    </script>And this in the region footer:
    <script type="text/javascript">
    <!--
      setInterval("jQuery('#INTRADAY_IRR').trigger('apexrefresh');", 2000);
      getUpdatedDate();
    -->
    </script>We create a DIV tag as our header. Then we have a function in the header that updates our div tag every two seconds. In the footer, we tell APEX to refresh the data every two seconds, and we tell our function to begin working. Effectively, you have a timestamp indicating when, theoretically, the data should have been refreshed. Now, this timestamp in the Region Title is NOT the true update time, but, theoretically it should be close. You should probably test this to see if you want to use it. Personally, I don't like this solution and I don't think I would ever implement it in any sort of production application. However, in an application that is just for me, I might hack something like this up.
    The key part of this work around would be to keep your times synchronized. It would be of no benefit if APEX was refreshing the data every 60 seconds but the title was refreshing every 6 seconds. Yikes, that could confuse a few people.
    I hope this has been a help.

  • PL/SQL Library Not Refreshed

    I am testing PL SQL Libraries and have attached a library called SALES to a report and with a calculation function. The problem I seem to have is when I made changes to the function, it is not detected when I run the report. It still seems to read the old version of the library. How can I overcome this problem? Do I need to delete and re-attach the library or is there a way I can make the report automatically refresh itself with the latest library/functions? Thank you in advance.

    Dear Ino,
    I am having this problem as well. Whenever I add another function in the PL/SQL library, the report will have to reattach the PL/SQL library again. It will be a problem if I have 100 reports using this shared PL/SQL library. This means that I have to reattach the library for 100 reports whenever I edit the function in the library. Is there any way to refresh the report without reattach the library?
    P/S: As far as I know, attaching the PL/SQL library does not need to edit the REPORTS_PATH in registry. I just have to double click "Attached Libraries" in the Object Navigator in the Report Builder.
    Please help. Thank you.

  • The schedule in Power BI report refresh error with the powerpivot or powerview with SQL Analysis services as data source

    In the Power BI Admin Centre, the data sources that cannot be setup with Analysis services, and it has the error to schedule the powerpivot or powerview report to have data refresh. The error is "我們無法重新整理此報表中的資料來源種類。" - english, "We
    can not rearrange the source of information in this report types ." We would like to know the power bi schedule function can support SQL analysis service or not. Please advise. Thanks.
    Winsee

    It is not currently supported. You might be able to create a linked server in SQL to be a proxy for the connection and enable scheduled refresh if you are desperate.
