The schedule in Power BI report refresh error with the powerpivot or powerview with SQL Analysis services as data source

In the Power BI Admin Centre, the data sources that cannot be setup with Analysis services, and it has the error to schedule the powerpivot or powerview report to have data refresh. The error is "我們無法重新整理此報表中的資料來源種類。" - english, "We
can not rearrange the source of information in this report types ." We would like to know the power bi schedule function can support SQL analysis service or not. Please advise. Thanks.
Winsee

It is not currently supported. You might be able to create a linked server in SQL to be a proxy for the connection and enable scheduled refresh if you are desperate.

    Hi :
    This weekend, while adding new applications to the production environment we ran into a problem where the JNDI tree of the new managed servers was unreachable.

    We traced the issue to a new data source that was added were we found that along with the the expected jndi name entry in the jdbc xml file, there were two blank entries:
    <jndi-name>weblogic.jdbc.DataSource.EOI</jndi-name>
    <jndi-name></jndi-name>
    <jndi-name></jndi-name>
    The data source was deleted, consoles restarted, the data source recreated and the issue occured again. To get by the issue we had to manually remove the blank tags from the xml file.
    We created 2 new data sources, and it only happened on the one. The same data source each time. Additionally, this issue did not occur when these changes were made in our lower (development, qa) regions.
    The version is the same in all three regions.

    WebLogic Server 10.3 Fri Jul 25 16:30:05 EDT 2008 1137967
    Is this a known issue? And if so, is there a way to avoid it, other than to start constantly checking the newly created XML files?
    Thank you
    ted

    Yes, this is a common issue and documented in Oracle Docs:
    WebLogic Server: Getting "weblogic.common.ResourceException: is already bound" exception with JDBC JNDI name (Doc ID 1154250.1)
    The only fix is that you need to remove the empty value entries.
    Cheers!!

  • Webi report refreshing error

    Hi,
    Could anyone tell me when i open the webi report,its working fine but when refresh the same report it takes more than 1 hour time.
    Plz advise me ASAP.
    Regards,

    hi,
    When you open the WEBI report, you are seeing the saved data probably.
    Once you refresh the report for latest data it is taking long time to get the data from data source.
    Possible steps that can be taken are as follows
    1) Open Designer, File -> Parameters -> Controls
    Increase the values for the following
    Limit size of result set to:
    Limit execution time to:
    and export the Universe
    2) Login to CMC -> Servers -> WebIntelligenceProcessingServer -> Web Intelligence Processing Service
    Increase the values for the parameters
    Restart the 'WebIntelligenceProcessingServer' server
    3) Also, verify the DB is up and running

  • PowerPivot refresh error with data feed from sharepoint list with empty exception information

    Hi,
    My Powpivot refreshing error seems to be different from what others already experienced.
    Scenario:
    Constructed an external data source in the format of Http://<server_IP>/sites/<mysitecollection>/_vti_bin/listdata.svc
    selected one table with some of the needed columns in the next step
    Create calculate colums etc.
    Create pivot tables etc.
    All worked well offline
    Upload the workbook into PowerPivot Gallery
    Reference it from a page through Excel Web Service webpart allowing manual refresh
    The refresh always reports failure with the named external data source
    I opend the log file in C:\Program Files\Common Files\microsoft shared\Web Server Extensions\15\LOGS and located the following error messages:
    ASPPHOST::ShowEngineError: Out of line object 'DataSource', referring to ID(s) 'f8939b694cae', has been specified but has not been used。The following exception occurred while the managed IDbCommand interface was being used: .
    Please note in the above message, NO detailed exception message was given. In other words,
    the exception information is empty.
    I checked as many things as I possibly could includin the security accounts etc. All seem to be right. But this empty exception got me stuck here.
    What could possibly go wrong? Any help will be appreciated.
    Thanks.

    Hello,
    Here is a good article regarding Where to get information about data refresh failures for your reference, please see:

  • Netstat not reporting input errors with packets that have bad checksums ?

    Greetings,
    Is netstat not reporting any checksum errors ? I have a number of Macs reporting checksum errors when sniffing the local net. I would think that these should be reported by netstat as input errors, or collisions right ?
    But it doesn't currently. See below for sample, its occurring across protocols, tcp, and udp. Usually this error is a bad ethernet port or cabling, and sometimes a sw issue. Working on eliminating the switches, router, and dsl modem by doing more testing.
    But is netstat broke ? I havent seen any errors from netstat since @ 3yrs ago.
    length 64, bad cksum 0 (->f9fe)!)
    One other question, can one monitor firewire 400/800 ports or usb with netstat ? Its not listed with man pages or netstat -h
    Thanks in advance

    Im am using two commands to view the data;
    netstat -I en0 2;
    (no errors in or out)
    and tcpdump with the verbose -v argument
    ( reports the cksum ( these are CRC's right, not IP header checksum ? )
    At the very bottom is the netstat -s output, otherwise a snippet of tcpdump ; replaced the IP's with xxxx's to protect the innocent
    Thanks for your help.....

  • "Load report failed" error with VS 2010 upgrade

    I have a report system that has been running nicely for a few years. Today, I upgraded it to use the latest Crystal from Visual Studio 2010. I installed the .net framework 4.0, installed the Crystal runtime (64 bit), and updated the web site with slightly revised code to use the new stuff. Now, reports that worked yesterday fail with the 'load report failed' error. A little research shows that the file name passed to the report engine is correct (and is the same as it has always been). I see that rpt files are being created in windows\temp each time a report is requested, so it seems that the report file is being found.
    The code change I made was to use the new ExportToHttpResponse method.
    When deployed in development and test environments (both 32 bit). this worked perfectly. In production, however, no such luck. I wonder if I have missed a setting somewhere, or if there is something extra to do on a 64 bit server?
    Does anyone have a clue for me?
    More info - I found the following error in the event log:
    The keycode assembly, BusinessObjects.Licensing.KeycodeDecoder.dll, cannot be loaded.
    ... which I thought was interesting until I noticed the same error occurs on my dev machine, where the reports are working.
    I also used process monitor to check the dlls loaded on the production box, and they all seem to be the latest version. I tried using the 'modules' utility on my production box, but it did not pick up the Crystal stuff (or any of my web stuff - I wonder if it is a 32-bit only tool?).
    Edited by: Ray Novak on Dec 29, 2010 5:12 PM

    I just tried this again with the same result. I uninstalled the previous Crystal, deleted all the old folders and reg keys I could find, then installed the new 64 bit redist package. I asigned permissions to the SAP reg key tree. I ended up with the same result: "Invalid file name". There were new files created in the temp folder for each report request, so I can tell that my.rpt files are being found.
    I used process monitor to see what was happening, and here are the results that seem interesting:
    RegOpenKey     HKU\.DEFAULT\Software\SAP BusinessObjects\Crystal Reports for .NET Framework 4.0     NAME NOT FOUND
    RegOpenKey     HKU\.DEFAULT\Software\SAP BusinessObjects\Crystal Reports for .NET Framework 4.0     NAME NOT FOUND
    IRP_MJ_CREATE     C:\Program Files (x86)\SAP BusinessObjects\Crystal Reports for .NET Framework 4.0\Common\SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 4.0\win64_x64\secSSO.dll.2.Config     NAME NOT FOUND

    Since it seemed to be trying to create files in the \win64_x64 folder, I allowed the process full access, but it didn't help. It was also looking for SmAgentAPI.dll which does not seem to exist on my system.

  • Reporting Services: XML Data Source and Parameters

    I’ve created an XML service (asmx) in ASP.Net that I want to use as a data source for an SQL Reporting Services report. The report and service work just fine if I use a Method from the service that does not have parameters. However, if I use a Method that
    needs a parameter, the query/report fails. My investigation makes it seem that the parameter is not getting passed to the Method at all. (The parameter is a DateTime and it always ends up uninitialized and the WebMethod throws an exception.)
    I’ve exhausted all my TechNet resources and Googled this excessively. It would seem that I am doing this correctly, based on all the examples I’ve seen, but I still can’t get it to work.
    I've done a lot of different permutations, but this is where I’m at right now.
    (Note: I've changed the Web Method's parameter to be a String instead of a DateTime. I did this as part of my trial-and-error process. Once I get this figured I'll return it to a DateTime.)
    I'm trying to include everything here that will help you help me (see attached image). I had to obfuscate a few things (not sure if that is necessary).
    See attached image:

    <SoapAction>http://zzz.com/vvv/GetDueDateAging</SoapAction>
    <ElementPath IgnoreNamespaces="true">*</ElementPath>
    </Query>
    This is where I needed the most help, and I don't totally understand it. But again, the parameter-less Method worked. I've tried adding different things in the <DefaultValue> tag (like @cuttoffDate and constant values), with no success.
    WebMethod Code
    [WebMethod]
    public List<AgingInvoice> GetDueDateAging(string cutoffDate)
    DateTime cd = DateTime.MinValue;
    if (!DateTime.TryParse(cutoffDate, out cd))
    cd = DateTime.Now;
    Shared.DueDateAging aging = new Shared.DueDateAging();
    return aging.GetDueDateAging(cd, Settings.Default.ConnectionString);
    I've looked at every online resource that I could find, but I'm striking out right now. Any help or hints would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks.
    Derrick

    Hi Derrick,
    In your case, please refer to the following method to troubleshooting this problem:
    We can use Fiddler2 to monitor the HTTP post, and check whether the parameter is being sent. The Fiddler tool can helps us debug web applications by capturing network traffic between the Internet and test computers. If the parameter is being sent, please
    debug the web service to ensure the method has values return.

  • Using Web Service as Data source (Pluggable Data Source) in Oracle Reports

    Anyone using Webservice as a pluggable data source in oracle 10g reports.(Report builder version:10.1.2.0.2)? We need to be able to use web service as one of the data source to create reports.Tried the following and ran into issues:
    Imported the wspds.jar fle from oracle plugin exchage. When tried using it received the following error in oracle reports trace file.
    04/26 22:27:22 java.lang.NoSuchMethodError: oracle.xml.parser.schema.XSDBuilder.build([Loracle/xml/parser/v2/XMLDocument;Ljava/net/URL;)Ljava/lang/Object;
    By troubleshooting issue found out that xmlparserv2.jar in 10g is newer than xmlparserv2.jar in 9i. wspds.jar is using xmlparserv2.jar in 9i as it was developed and tested for 9i only. Believe there is no newer wspds.jar file developed specifically for 10g?
    Is there a better/standard solution to use webservice as data source in oracle 10g reports? Does later version of oracle reports supports webservice as a data source without any additional plugins? Any suggestion would be helpful.

    Please provide support for the above request.
    It appears that Oracle 10g reports doesn't support Web Service as pluggable data source. Is this option is available in Oracle 11g Reports or Oracle Discoverer Or OBIEE?

  • Crystal Report 8.5 with SQL SERVER 2005 problems

    Post Author: AREVA
    CA Forum: Data Connectivity and SQL
    Hi All !We have some problems with Crystal Reports version 8.5 with SQL Server 2005: 1) When we want to generate a report (using data in SQL Server 2005) we have a popup message error : "impossible to loaded pdssql.dll".2) If we want to use SQL Server 2005, which Crystal Reports version we must used ? Is there any restrictions with this connectivity with 8.5 version ?Please, let me known, all informations about SQL Server 2005 and Crystal Report 8.5.Thanks for all !Best regards Anthony

    Hello Kamlesh,
    There is no expectation that the ActiveX viewer (RDC?) from CR8.5 will work in any version of Visual Studio .NET. There is also no expectation that the ActiveX viewer from CR8.5 will work on a machine with a 64 bit operating system.
    You're using VS2008. You should migrate to the bundled edition of CR for VS2008 (v10.5), the ReportDocument object, and the .NET Windows form viewer or Web form viewer.
    Sincerely,
    Dan Kelleher

  • Error (IES 10901) (WIS 10901) when using Excel 2010 file as data source..

    Hello,
    I have a annoying issue with using an excel 2010 file as a data source for a universe. Here is the background information.
    Setup.
    Client: Laptop running Win XP 32bit, Client tools installed with SP2 v9 (latest)
    Server: Win 2008 x64, BOE 4.0 SP2 v9  (latest)
    Task:
    1. On Client, with information design tool, created Project, DB Connection, Data foundation using an excel source on a share
    server\share\data.xlsx
    2.. Published everything to Repository
    3. Try to load univerise in Web Intelligence via creating a new report. I Drag accross the dimensions. When i go to preview data recieve error
    Database error: [Microsoft][ODBC Excel Driver] External table is not in the expected format.. (IES 10901) (WIS 10901)
    4. If i change the excel file to a 2003 format *.xls it all works correctly. Issue being that 2003 cannot hold as much data as a 2010 file so i need to use 2010.
    Extra Notes:
    1. Both the client and server have the latest Access drivers http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?id=13255
    2. Both client and server have a system DSN setup using the 32bit ODBC, same DSN names to the network share.
    3. The data excel source sits on the server on a share.
    4. I am believing that the isssue is within the area of BOE as when you connect to the excel file via ODBC using crystal 2011, you need to right click on the connection and tick "System Tables" to be able to use the excel 2010 file. The BOE Information design tool does not seem to have this option??
    Any advice with this would be great?
    thanks
    david

    Issue Resolved:
    Install
    Access Database Engine 2010 Service Pack 1 on the server
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2460011
    Reboot server once completed.

  • TNS: connection closed error with SQL*net

    Hi all,
    I've got a new installation of Oracle 11.1.0.6.0 enterprise (Linux). It works fine with direct sqlplus connections but I'm having problems with SQL*net and JDBC thin client connections.
    The database is built correctly and works fine:

    TNS for Linux: Version 11.1.0.6.0 - Production
    NLSRTL Version 11.1.0.6.0 - Production

    but if I try to connect using SQL*net I get errors. I have my TNS listener configured and it starts without errors, reporting the database as a service, and tnsping is fine:

    This is a new instance of Oracle so there is no problem with listener.log being too large (as I've seen elsewhere). I've also tried increasing PROCESSES and SESSIONS in the initSID.ora file without any impact. The listener ports are open through the firewall (and disabling it temporarily makes no difference).
    Any suggestions?!
    Thanks, Matt

    This means nothing to me, but it could to someone else......
