Hi All,
Can you please let me know If SQL server support or can store data in multiple languages? If so, how is it done..
Thanks,

Thanks, Subbu

Yes, you have to use Unicode data types such as nchar and nvarchar to store the data. See https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms191200(v=sql.105).aspx

  • Changing locale settings of DB2 for storing data in multiple languages

    hi friends,
i want to know how to store data in multiple languages in the same
DB2 database. i am developing a e-commerce application which stores
data of users around the globe. i know that i need to create a database
with characterset UTF-8. But how will i change the locale (language and territory) of the user session. (i am asking something corresponding to to Oracle's ALTER SESSION nls_language command). i want to insert data through JDBC.
    please help me.

But how will i change the
locale (language and territory) of the user session.Store all keywords in a database, using the local name (e.g. us-en) as the primary key. Your servlet should determine the user's locale (ServletRequest.getLocales()) and use it as the primary key for an SQL select.
Now use the fields obtained from the DB to populate your HTML page.

  • SQL ENTERPRISE: The edition of Reporting Services that you are using requires that you use local SQL Server relational databases for report data sources and the report server database

The error below makes absolutely no sense! I'm using Enterprise Core...yet I'm being told I can't use remote data sources:
w3wp!library!8!03/05/2015-19:08:48:: i INFO: Catalog SQL Server Edition = EnterpriseCore

    Services that you are using requires that you use local SQL Server relational databases for report data sources and the report server database." is not supported in this edition of Reporting Services.;
Really? This totally contradicts the documentation found here:
    https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms157285(v=sql.110).aspx
That article says remote connections are completely supported.
ARGH! Why does this have to be so difficult to setup?!?

    Hi jeffoliver1000,
According to your description, you are using Enterprise Core edition and you are prompted that you can’t use remote data sources.
In your scenario, we neither ignore your point nor be doubt with what you say. But actually we have met the case before that even though the SQL Server engine is Enterprise but the reporting services is still standard. So I would recommend you to find the
actual edition of reporting services you are using. You can find Reporting Services starting SKU in the Reporting Service logs ( default location: C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\<instance name>\Reporting Services\LogFiles). For more information,
please refer to the similar thread below:

By the way, have you installed the other SQL Server edition before?

  • Using SQL Server 2012 SSIS to Extract Data From SAP

    Hi
What is the current best practice for using SQL Server 2012 SSIS to extract data from SAP R3? Please note we are looking for a solution that does not use SAP BW or SAP OHS.
Ideally we would like to build our ETL SSIS process to make a .NET call to an SAP RFC procedure and avoid using web services.
With SS2012 can we use any of these without using SAP BW:
    - SAP .NET Connector
    - MS ADO .NET
    - BizTalk .NET 3.0 Adapter
    Thanks and take care,
    Shayne

    Hi Shayne,
You can use the .NET Framework Data Provider for mySAP Business Suite along with SQL Server Integration Service (SSIS) to import data from an SAP system into SQL Server database tables, flat files, or other compatible destination types. You can create an SSIS
package that can be executed to import data from an SAP system.
You must use the SQL Server Import and Export wizard to import data into the SQL Server database. You must provide a select query to specify data to be imported. The query must confirm to the semantics supported by the Data Provider for SAP. You can start the
SQL Server Import Export Wizard either from the SQL Server Management Studio or from an Integration Service project in Visual Studio. Detail steps please see:
Importing SAP Data Using SQL Server Management Studio:
    http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc185161(v=bts.10).aspx
Importing SAP Data Using Visual Studio:

Please feel free to ask if you have any question.

  • What version of SQL Server support ssl connection with TLS. 1.2 (SHA-256 HASH)

    Hi,
    I just want to know,
What version of SQL Server support ssl connection with TLS. 1.2 (SHA-256 HASH).
    if support already,
    how can i setting.
    plz.  help me!!!

The following blog states that SQL Server "leverages the SChannel layer (the SSL/TLS layer provided
by Windows) for facilitating encryption.  Furthermore, SQL Server will completely rely upon SChannel to determine the best encryption cipher suite to use." meaning that the version of SQL Server you are running has no bearing on which
encryption method is used to encrypt connections between SQL Server and clients.
    http://blogs.msdn.com/b/sql_protocols/archive/2007/06/30/ssl-cipher-suites-used-with-sql-server.aspx
So the question then becomes which versions of Windows Server support TLS 1.2.  The following article indicates that Windows Server 2008 R2 and beyond support TLS 1.2.
    http://blogs.msdn.com/b/kaushal/archive/2011/10/02/support-for-ssl-tls-protocols-on-windows.aspx
So if you are running SQL Server on Windows Server 2008 R2 or later you should be able to enable TLS 1.2 and install a TLS 1.2 certificate.  By following the instructions in the following article you should then be able to enable TLS 1.2 encryption
for connections between SQL Server and your clients:
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/316898
    I hope that helps.

I have raised an SR. I have provided them with error code, screen shots and log files.
They are suggesting me to do a fresh install of SOA. But I feel that is not the correct solution.
Now I can do that as i have only two processes running on the server.
Imagine If I have lof of processes running on the server. moreover I can't do it every time when i face this kind of errors on the PROD server.
    Anyway thanks for your suggestion.
How long you have been working with oracle SOA suite?
    Thanks

  • Does lion server support a single email address across multiple devices??

I am looking to move from an outdated Microsoft Exchange Server 2003 to OS X Lion Server but I am unsure as to how Lion will handle email. I do not want to spend money on a new windows server if I can get a Mac Mini Server to do the job. I am a very small business with a number of email accounts for a couple employees and need access to email and calendar from both the office iMac's and my Macbook Pro when on the road. My IT guy says I need Exchange but he's been off base on a few other items recently and I wanted to check with other sources.
I have 2 new iMac's, a MacBook Pro, an iPad1 and and iPhone4 on the mac side of things and 2 windows computers running XP. I would get rid of the windows computers completely if not for my CAD program which runs best not in a virtual machine mode.
How well will email and calendar entries sync across devices?

I have a very similar setup at my office. Lion Server will push email, calandar, contacts to all of your apple product with out a hitch.
As far the Windows XP machines, you can access email over IMAP with Thunderbird, and calandars via sunbird or the built in web app.
I would ditch the exchange server move to Mac OS X Server, and never look back.
    God Luck!
PS. All of your devices will be in sync all the time.
    Shore answer:
Does lion server support a single email address across multiple devices??
    Yes.

  • Using SQL Server credentials with Secure Store Target Application for Data Connection in Dashboard Designer

    [Using SharePoint 2013 Enterprise SP1]
I would like to use SQL Server credentials in a Secure Store Target Application, and
this page makes it look like it's possible but when I attempt to use the new Target Application ID as authentication for a Data Connection in Dashboard Designer, I get a generic "Unable to access data source" with no error logged in SQL Server
    logs.
I am able to use a Target Application with AD credentials to access the SQL db without a problem. Suggestions?

    Hi,
    1. Make sure that the credential is set to
Secure Store Target Application. Navigate to the Central Administration. Click on the
Application Management. Click on the Manage Service Applications. Click on the
Secure Store Service Application. Select the application ID and from the ECB menu click on the
Set Credentials. Enter the Credential Owner, Windows User Name and the
    Windows Password.
    2. Make sure that in the Dashboard Designer “Use a stored account” is selected in the “Authentication” and the proper application ID is mentioned.

With SQL Express, Data source should be local SQL DB.
With SQL Enterprise, Standard, BI edition, you can create Data soruce which are hosted on other servers.

Just double check the code and history.
The bug is fixed in 2011/08/23 and made into SQL 2012 RTM. So I assume you are using 2008 R2, which mainstream support is ended. I am not able to push a fix to that.
