How to get sql user id an password by useing DI and APi object,

You cannot get sql user password through UI, DI and even not from sql db. Its really not possible. You may get only sql user as
SELECT SYSTEM_USER
- simply call it from DI recordset. If you are using windows authentication, youll get domain and user, otherwise the sql user.

First of all, I believe you mean a procedure that would check the application username and password. Fot, if you mean a PL/SQL procedure, that runs in the database, and that means it has to be executed after the client application is connected to the database.
Maybe you need a procedure like this:

Sql plus not accepting user id and password as scott, tiger resp

I have just installed oracle9i
And I have a problem in opening the sql plus. It asks for user id and pass but when entered scott, tiger it always gives a tns error.
Could you tell me how to make a database & how to log on & how to make a new user id and password

It seem that you have problem with network connectivity to you database.
Check the listener status and the configuration of the files: tnsnames.ora & listener.ora
In all cases you must specified the error.

I have tested on my local environment and can reproduce the issue, as
Vaishu00547 mentioned that the issue can be caused by the Execution Account you have configured in the Reporting Services Configuration Manager is not correct, Please update the Username and Password and restart the reporting services.
Please also find more details information about when to use the execution account, if possible,please also not specify this account:
This account is used under special circumstances when other sources of credentials are not available:
When the report server connects to a data source that does not require credentials. Examples of data sources that might not require credentials include XML documents and some client-side database applications.
When the report server connects to another server to retrieve external image files or other resources that are referenced in a report.
Execution Account (SSRS Native Mode)

What is the default user name and password for oracle databse 10g

Hi: gurus, I just recently installed the oracle 10g personal edition and trying to log on to the enterprise manger, but can't figure it out the user name and password, can some one help me and tell me what is the default user name and password to logon to the oracle instance. BTW during the installation I choose two passowrds one for the schema and one for the global database orcl. I wonder will I be using one of these passwords. Still I don't have any clue for the "User Name".

system/manager and sys/change_on_install are still valid default passwords when database is manually created. If DBCA was used, passwords will be those defined at creation time inside DBCA.
In case passwords have been forgotten, those can be reset:
From an OS commnad prompt, set ORACLE_SID, ORACLE_HOME and PATH environment variables, just to make sure you are pointing to the right Oracle Home installation, and issue:
OS> sqlplus / as sysdba
SQL> alter user sys identified by yourNewSysPassword;
SQL> alter user system identified by yourNewSystemPassword;
And you're done with it.

SSO using user ID and password

Hi ,
I have installed EP 6.0 SP2 running on SQL DB,Business Package for ESS for SAP R3 4.7 , ITS6.20.
Portal is runing fine and i also have set up the SSO with R3 using UIDPWD. I can able to access ESS iviews. Everything runs fine.
But the problem is that after accessing 6/7 iviews of ESS, i am prompted for User id and Password. ( Welcome screen is displayed). I have checked the no of session in SAP R/3 ( Transaction : SM04) there are 4/5 RFC session found.
Please do let me know if any other information i have missed out. Any idea always appriciated.

But still i am having the same problem .
About the second option you have mentioned
I have not changes iViews priority nor authorization scheme priority.
As i mentioed , i could able to access iViews but after accessing 6/7 iviews i am getting portal login screen. This screen came even i click on the portal welcome page too.
Please do let me know if any other setting need to be maintained . Is there any setting need to be done in ITS side.

User name and password for Oracle BI Spreadsheet Add-in

I downloaded Oracle Database 10g Express Edition and I installed it successfully. I created a new account. Then I downloaded Oracle Business Intelligence Spreadsheet Add-in and I installed it successfully as well (both on my PC).
Now I would like to run Oracle Business Intelligence Spreadsheet Add-in but I don't know the way of running it. I click "New query". Then I go to the "Connection editor". There are four boxes.
"Description box" is clear. I write 127.0.0.1 or k219 (it's the name of my computer) into the "Host name box". As the "Port Number box" I use 1521. Then I write xe into the "SID box".
Then I return to the "OLAP connection tab". There are items: user name and password. I try to write user name and password created in Oracle Database 10g Express Edition. And the result is an error: Faild to connect to OLAP service

When u install Oracle 10g, it forces u to enter new passwords for System as well as scott user and it does not allow u to keep old know passwords as manager and tiger.
If u installed with new passwords successfully, u must be knowing those new passwords and there is no reason to try with system/manager. Instead try to connect with new passwords. We never faced such problems.
If the problems still persits, check that
a) Oracle service is running
b) Instance is running by and whether u are able to connect / as sysdba

Longback I installed oracle databse 10g on my windows xp box. Now I can't remember the user name and password to log in to the database using the Database control login page. The only thing I did at that time is activation of scott account. I am able to connect to databse with scott/tiger in SQL*plus. So how to I recover the username and password here. Any help please

Thanks a lot for your reply. I am new to Oracle.What I need here is how to Log in to the database from "Oracle database control" Login page. I forgot the user name and password. I think I need to select the SYSDBA option in that page. Just curious to know how to recover the username and password for SYSdba. When I try to log using scott and tiger it is saying that I don't have sufficient admin privileges to login. Is reinstall the only way out to get the user ID and passowrd.

I am able to run the report fine in BIDS in the preview window, and it deployes fine. When it goes to view the report in the browser, I get the following error. There is no domain, I am using a standalone computer with SQL Server and SSRS on
this one machine.

Configuration is not correct.
Reporting Services provides a special account that is used for unattended report processing and for sending connection requests across the network. Unattended report processing refers to any report execution process that is triggered by an event rather than
a user request. The report server uses the unattended report processing account to log on to the computer that hosts the external data source. This account is necessary because the credentials of the Report Server service account are never used to connect
to other computers. To configure the account, please refer to the following steps:
Start the Reporting Services Configuration tool and connect to the report server instance you want to configure.
On the Execution Account page, select Specify an execution account.
Type the account and password, retype the password, and then click Apply.
In addition, please verify you have access to the Report Server database by following steps:
Go to SQL Server Reporting Services Configuration Manager, make sure the configuration is correct.
Go to Database, Verify that you can connect to the database.
Make sure you are granted public and RSExecRole roles.

Oracle/ SQL Plus Username and Password troubles

I have just download Oracle Database 10g Express Edition for Linux.
I downloaded it through the repositories and it installed it that way.
When i use the command 'connect' with SQL Plus i am required to enter a user name ans password.
What is the default user name and password, or where can i find it?

If yo uinstalled it, you needed to provide a password. Use that.

Invalid user Id and password for signon to Application designer!!

I am trying to instal peoplesoft HRMS 9.0 on Vista and Oracle 10g release 2.
- Installed Weblogic server
- Tuxido
- Installed Peopletools 8.49
- Installed HRMS 9.0
- Created initHCDMO and created the database
- ran the scripts under the scripts/nt folder
- logged onto datamover with 'system' as user and 'manager' as password and successfully ran the script
- ran the rel849n.sql script and grants.sql after logging onto sqlplus with 'system' as user and 'manager' as password
- after that when I am trying to login to the application designer in 2 tier mode, with PS as user and PS as password, I am getting the error 'Invalid User ID and password for signon'
Can anybody please help me|?

It solved my problem, and I have moved on with the rest of the steps and I am stuck at starting the Application server. I have ran all the datamover scripts and all other configurations for the database. I can login to the database, with sql plus with SYSADM, SYSADM.

Invalid User Name and Password after changing the sa Password

Hi All,
I've Installed SAP 9.0 PL 05 ,while installing I've given database details as
User Name : sa
Password : abcd
Installation got success and I could able to log in to listed companies.
But, after I've changed sa user Password in SQL Server
i.e
User Name : sa
Password : xyz
Now , companies are not listed , then I had reset the password in (SAP Business One Service Manager - > Configure Security - > SLD)
When I check after this companies are listing, But
If I try to login with my regular user it is saying
Invalid User Name and Password
for testing purpose I've reset the earlier password for sa and tried., then it is working fine.
does the sa password affecting anywhere?
how can I change my sa password and use normally?
any help or knowledge would be very helpful

Invalid User ID and password for signon - HRMS 9.0 on SQL2005

I'm installing HRMS 9.0 using MS SQL Server 2005. I ran the "rel849u.sql" and grant.sql scripts. And now I'm at Task 7-4-3 "Updating PeopleTools Database Objects". When I launch the Application Designer, I get the following error when I try to login:
Invalid User ID and password for signon
I've triied logging in using 'sa', 'ps', and 'people' and still nothing works. Any suggestions?

Why do you want to connect with people user ? I'm sure, nothing in the doc is talking about connection through people user. PEOPLE is not an application user anyway, you don't have any chance to connect to AppDesigner. This database user is there only to check the connectivity grant, nothing more, it is used internally and should NOT be used.

Invoke-sqlcmd with domain user name and password

I am trying to execute below small SQL script from powershell by passing my domain user name and password..but it is throwing an error login failed for the user.
Howerver I am able to execute the same query by passing normal user 'non domain' and password. The issue is only when i am trying to connect with domain username.
Can you please suggest if there is any way to execute below query with domain user..

Agree with Mike, to connect sql via powershell, you can refer to this article about authentications:
Connecting to SQL Server through Powershell
Please try to gather credentials using Get-Credential, and then use New-PSSession -Authentication CredSSP to open the pssession.

Configuration File using a different user id and Password

Hi,
I have a SSIS package that I have deployed to various environments and was able to successfully run. The last environment causes some problems. At first I thought that it was a connection issue with SQL Server. I attempted to change the
user id and password for the db in the configuration file and am still getting errors.
When I attempt to connect to the db using those same credentials, I can log in to the database.
Any idea's what to look for? Is there anything else I can try?
