  • PL/SQL will compile with warnings but will not run

    I have a pl/sql package that will compile with warnings but no errors but when i try to run it I get an ORA-6508 error telling me there is an error somewhere in the package but I can't find it.
    I have two user schemas that use 2 slightly different versions of the package. I had to make slight code changes to one of the versions and when I made those changes it stopped running. The second version compiles and runs correctly.
    After going through a line by line comparison the first copy was still not running. I copied the second version of the code into the broken schema and commented out the additional lines of code that are not needed in this version.
    When I tried to compile and run this version it still fails with the same error.
    I am using Oracle XE and the databases are small.
    I can send on the code if necessary.
    Can anyone point me in the right direction?
    Thanks
    Susan

    I tried doing what you suggested but there are no errors as it is compiling correctly.
    It is only when I run the package through the debugger that I get the error. I have posted it below

  • Export SQL View to Flat File with UTF-8 Encoding

    I've setup a package in SSIS to export a SQL view to a flat file and it's working fine.  I now need to make that flat file UTF-8 encoded.  The package executes but still shows the files as ANSI encoded.
    My package consists of a Source (SQL View) -> Derived Column (casts the fields to DT_WSTR) -> Destination Flat File (Set to output UTF-8 file).
    I don't get any errors to help me troubleshoot further.  I'm running SQL Server 2005 SP2.

    Unless there is a Byte-Order-Marker (BOM - hex file prefix: EF BB BF) at the beginning of the file, and unless your data contains non-ASCII characters, I'm unsure there is a technical difference in the files, Paul.
    That is, even if the file is "encoded" UTF-8, if your data is only ASCII values (decimal values 0-127, hex 00-7F), UTF-8 doesn't really serve a purpose over ANSI encoding.  Now if you're looking for UTF-8 with specifically the BOM included, and your data is all standard ASCII, the Flat File Connection Manager can't do that, it seems.
    What the flat file connection manager is doing correctly though, is encoding values that are over decimal 127/hex 7F in UTF-8 when the encoding of the connection manager is set to 65001 (UTF-8).
    Example:
    Input data built with a script component as a source (code at the bottom of this post) and with only one WSTR output column hooked to a flat file destination component:
    a string containing only decimal value 225 (german Eszett character - ß)
    Encoding set to ANSI 1252 looks like:
    E1 0D 0A (which is the ANSI encoding of the decimal character value 225 (E1) and a CR-LF (0D 0A)
    Encoding set to UTF-8 65001 looks like:
    C3 A1 0D 0A  (which is the UTF-8 encoding of the decimal character value 225 (C3 A1) and a CR-LF (0D 0A)
    Note that for values over decimal 127, UTF-8 takes at least two bytes and up to four for the remaining values available.
    So, I'm comfortable now, after sitting down and going through this, that the flat file connection manager is working correctly, unless you need a BOM.

  • Named View Criteria with no wizard - I write the SQL

    Using JDeveloper/ADF 11.1.2.3.
    Is there a way to create a named View Criteria with a SQL Select that is more complex than the wizard can write?
    I know that I can write code to create a View Criteria at runtime, but then I can't just drag and drop it like a named one.
    One use case:
    I have a table named FACILITIES, with a detail table named FACILITY_SERVICES. I want a view criteria for FACILITIES that finds all facilities that have all the required services in a bind variable that is a comma delimited list.
    WHERE list.to_vc_array(:requiredServices) /* I wrote this function to translate a comma delimited list to my own vc_arraytype. */
       SUBMULTISET OF
          CAST(MULTISET ( SELECT service
                            FROM facility_services
                           WHERE facilities.facility_id = facility_services.facility_id)
               AS vc_arraytype)With the wizard, I can't even write a simple IN query (match at least one of the required services), much less this more complex one (match ALL the required services).

    I'm not sure that this is so bad :)
    You need to implement one interface and override one method.
    For example:
    public class YourVOImpl extends ViewObjectImpl implements ViewCriteriaAdapter {
        protected void create() {
            super.create();
            setViewCriteriaAdapter(this);
        @Override
        public String getViewCriteriaClause(ViewObject viewObject, ViewCriteria viewCriteria) {
            if (viewCriteria == null || viewCriteria.size() == 0) return null;
            return "list.to_vc_array(:requiredServices)\n" +
                      "   SUBMULTISET OF \n" +
                      "      CAST(MULTISET ( SELECT service\n" +
                      "                        FROM facility_services\n" +
                      "                       WHERE facilities.facility_id = facility_services.facility_id)\n" +
                      "           AS vc_arraytype)");
    }Dario

  • SOLVED: SQL Developer Code Compilation with warnings

    Hi, I think I found one bug in sql developer.
    I have one pl/sql package, that contains a lot of code. In the previous SQL Developer releases (prior to 1.2) when you compile the code, first appears the errors and then the warnings. Because of some type conversion in my sql statements i have more than 20 warnings, and now i cannot see the errors (i think that they will appear if i'm able to increase this "20 messages" limit). I was searching for some option in SQL Developer to increase the number of displayed warnings or errors (or turn off the warnings) but i cannot find such parameter.
    Is this a bug, or i'm missing something ?
    PS: because of this, i'm not able to compile my package with sql developer, and i'm compiling via sqlplus.
    null

    Yes, you're missing something: the forum's search feature.
    See:
    compile with many warnings causes compiler dont show errors correctly
    Compiling an invalid packagebody without errormessage
    SQL Developer says Compile sucessful but it is not

  • SQL "View" with TS?

    Hello,
    is it possible to handel a SQL "View" with TestStand or the Database Viewer?
    I can see my tables but not the view.

    Thankyou,
    this is the first thing, the second is that i can`t write to the database.
    If i use a table everything is ok. When i took the view i get an error-message:
    -2146825037 The recordset don`t support updating. This can be a problem of the constriction of provider or lock type....
    Can you help me with this, too?

  • -Xlint warning when compiling with command prompt.

    1 of the method i write in the program has a compilation warning when compiling with command prompt. When i compile the codes with the application i used to write the program has no error at all. Below is my code:
    private static ArrayList readNum(String NumFile)
    ArrayList key = new ArrayList();
    String keyAttributes = readInput(NumFile);
    StringTokenizer stk = new StringTokenizer(keyAttributes);
    while(stk.hasMoreTokens())
    key.add(stk.nextToken());
    return key;
    When i javac the program with -X;int, this errror occured:
    warning: [unchecked] unchecked call to add(E) as a member of the raw type java.util.ArrayList
    key.add(stk.nextToken());
    ^
    1 warning
    Anyidea how to solve this problem? Thanks for the help.

    A quick google for that message would have told you that you're not using generics and the compiler complains about that.
    Google for "Java Generics" to find out what all the fuss is about.

  • SQL IN clause with Bind parameter?

    Hi
    I have a simple task that hasn't been so simple to figure out. I want to allow a user to search for one or more comma-separated values in a simple JClient ADF app. Is there a way to use a SQL IN clause with a single bind variable? e.g. SELECT TITLE FROM CITATION WHERE ID IN (:0)
    When I pass a single value it works fine but a comma separated list doesn't.
    Thanks
    John

    Update: I wanted to combine the techniques found in two of Steve Muench's articles -
    1) Providing Default Values for View Object Bind Variables (so I could display an ADF-bound JPanel with defaults)
    http://radio.weblogs.com/0118231/stories/2004/10/07/providingDefaultValuesForViewObjectBindVariables.html
    2) Array of String Domain Example (so a user could enter one or more comma-separated values into a text box for DB searches)
    http://radio.weblogs.com/0118231/stories/2004/09/23/notYetDocumentedAdfSampleApplications.html
    I learned some helpful stuff about the framework but spent lots of time banging my head against the wall because the two examples wouldn't work when directly combined. To best understand this, be sure to study Steve's examples above.
    In example 1 Steve passes an array of objects (Object[] DEFAULT_VALUES) to the ViewObject's where clause using the setWhereClauseParams(Object[] values). However, in example 2 he creates an Oracle Array which contains an Oracle ArrayDescriptor, Connection, and array of values to pass to the "IN" bind variable. Also, example 1 allows for multiple bind vars to be included whereas example 2 allows for an array of data to be passed to a single bind var. Even though my code provides an array to a single bind var (per ex. 2) it should still allow for the passage of multiple bind vars with minimal code modification.
    Code from Steve's example 1 was copied into my EmpView ViewObject but certain modifications were necessary:
    1) Change the ViewObject's DEFAULT_VALUES from Object[] to String[].
    2) Modify the executeQueryForCollection() method in the ViewObject to call a function which will set the bind variables as Oracle Arrays (effectively converting the "params" data type from that of String[] to Oracle Array[])
    3) Create a setManagerID(String[]) method in the EmpView object and expose it to the client.
    (there are a number of others so it's best for you to go through the code and compare)
    I finally got it working so I'm attaching the code, however beware - I'm new to this so there may be other, better ways to go about it. Also, there are no framework bind vars so that section of code is never executed...it compiles but may fail at run time.
    In order for this to work I suggest you use JDev to re-create the EmpView and Panel1 objects. This will ensure that the necessary ADF framework components are generated. Once complete, then copy in the code provided.

    Hi Bashobi,
    1. Since you can not reproduce the issue from sysadmin responsibility can we say the issue specific to Receivables Manager
    responsibility<INV xml report>?
    2. You said before: "Concurrent process for XML Publisher fails with warning. Cannot see Diagnostics
    --> XML output completely. Only first page visible. Buttons and Menu items
    disabled not allowing to view the whole XML file to troubleshoot for
    correct/incorrect tags.":
    Is the above mean :
    -The xml publisher report completed but you can not view the whole XML file
    -Or the xml publisher report error out with "Jave.sql SQL Exception No corresponding LOB data found: select File_data_dbms_lob.."
    Thanks.

    HI ,
    i am also facing the same problem but i have one solution for this .... that opp err
    comes in 3 cases ....
    data output will be very large
    unable to insert data in template---->template design is wrong.....(in caseif xml is generated for that).
    the third case is that the data defination file is perfectly fine but when it have to insert data in template its not getting the path where the template is put.
    its all due to xml environment settings.
    Tell your DBA to verify the issue...send him the log and opp log.
    I expect that you will get what exactly the issues is.
    regards

  • Pragma error when compiling with SDK X

    Hi,
    I am trying to compile my plugin application (which compiled fine with the previous sdk) using the SDK X, but receive errors in CAVAlert.h on the exception handler construct DURING, HANDLER, END_HANDLER.
    The errors are listed here:
    Headers/API/CAVAlert.h:156:3: error: 'suppress' was not declared in this scope
    Headers/API/CAVAlert.h:156:3: error: 'warning' was not declared in this scope

    To compile against to SDK X all I did was:
    1) Used PIMain.c from the SDK X API directory.
    2) Changed ACRO_SDK_LEVEL=0x00090000 => ACRO_SDK_LEVEL=0x000A0000
    3) Changed the include directories to point to the new SDK X directories
    Is there another directive I must add to get the plugin to compile with SDK X?
    My preprocessor list is as follows:
    ACRO_SDK_LEVEL=0x000A0000
    HAVE_W32API_H
    PDMETADATA_HFT=1
    PLUGIN=1

  • Server connections not consistent. Folders grayed out with warning icon

    For some reason, my mail.app has started showing grayed out folders and accounts with warning icons. Even though I am able to receive/send, mail seems to think the connection is not working. When I click on the icon, it reads "The server error encountered was: The attempt to read data from the server <"
    I am using port 26 since my ISP blocks port 25, and I've been doing this with no problems for years...now all of a sudden it's become a problem.
    Any suggestions would be appreciated. I already used keychain first aid, and that didn't seem to change anything.
    My ISP recently went through a server migration which has caused me a lot of problems, which is when this started happening, but they can't seem to solve the issue on their end.
    btw, this is happening on multiple computers (both listed below), and I also access my accounts through iPhone.
    Thanks in advance.

    To resolve this problem, follow these steps:
    On the computer that is running System Center Operations Manager, open the Operations Console.
    In the navigation pane, click Administration.
    Expand Security, and then click Run As Profiles.
    In the Run As Profiles view, double-click Data Warehouse Account.
    In the Run As Profile Properties - Data Warehouse Account properties dialog box, click the Run As Accounts tab, and then click New.
    In the Run As Account list, click Data Warehouse Action Account.
    In the Name list, click the management server that generated the alert.
    Click OK two times.
    Follow steps 4 through 8 to assign the appropriate Run As account to the following profiles:
    Data Warehouse Configuration Synchronization Reader Account
    Data Warehouse Report Deployment Account
    Data Warehouse SQL Server Authentication Account
    For each profile, select the Run As account that matches the name of the Run As profile. For example, make the following assignments:
    Assign the Data Warehouse Configuration Synchronization Reader Account to the Data Warehouse Configuration Synchronization Reader Account profile.
    Assign the Data Warehouse Report Deployment Account to the Data Warehouse Report Deployment Account profile.
    Assign the Data Warehouse SQL Server Authentication Account to the Data Warehouse SQL Server Authentication Account profile.
    On the management server that generated the alert, restart the OpsMgr Health Service.
    In the Operations Manager event log on the management server, verify that event ID 31554 events are logged.

  • Trigger compile with after migrated from 8i to 10g

    Hi All,
    We try to migrate a 8i database to 10g by using the exp and imp. All tables and data are already migrated by imp. During the imp, there are errors said the trigger compile with errors.
    When login to the em to check, I found these 2 errors.
    Line # = 2 Column # = 1 Error Text = PL/SQL: SQL Statement ignored
    Line # = 2 Column # = 60 Error Text = PL/SQL: ORA-00942: table or view does not exist
    My trigger is a very simple one:
    BEGIN
    Select TB_COUNTER_SEQ.NEXTVAL INTO :NEW.INCREMENT_NUM FROM DUAL;
    END;
    And I'm sure the "TB_COUNER_SEQ" is there.
    Do I need to change anything on the trigger when migrating from 8i?
    In fact, besides this trigger, all other trigger imp to this schema are having the same error. The schema in the 10g is a newly created one, is there any special right I need to create grant to this new user?
    Thanks a lot.

Privileges granted to a role don't count in AUTHID OWNER stored procedures; the privileges have to be granted to the owner of the stored procedure (or to PUBLIC).
    It the error is occurring at position 60, then it looks like you don't have privileges on dual. Login as SYS and
    GRANT SELECT ON dual TO PUBLIC;You may need synonyms (perhaps public synonyms) for the objects, too.
