SQL0904N and SQL30081N while using DB2-Connect driver
Scenario:
Application program : Java on Unix
Database : DB2 on Mainframe
Database driver : IBM's DB2 connect
Usage : A number of connections are taken by the program and are used as long as the program is alive
(Life time of the program is variable. It can be as long as many days -- in a sense the program acts like a daemon process that runs as long it is not stopped).
Scenario:
-To one of the table using a load utility, such as BMC, data is loaded
-Database goes to copy-pending status
-Database is started by using the following command : "START DATABASE(database name) SPACENAM(table space name) ACCESS(FORCE)"
Doubts:
1. What happens to the connections that the program has opened to the database?
2. Does the database relinquish all the resources (like the sockets it would have opened for the communication with the driver) held by it during restarting?
(at least before restarting, it is evident that no query on the table in question is possible. A typical SQL0904N, which is non-availability of resources, is thrown)
3. Can the above scenario cause a SQL30081N, which is resetting of connection by peer i.e. database in this case?
Yes, there is a high probability for such things, you may want to consider using a connection pool instead of opening 2 connections once at the start of the program and using them all for days.
Have a look at the following link to get an idea on how to implement a simple connection pool.

Problem with Progress DB while using to connect using JDBC Adapter
Hi,
I am facing Problem with Progress DB while using to connect using JDBC Adapter. I am getting the following error in auditlog file like,
Error during database connection to the database URL jdbc:JdbcProgress:T:156.5.31.65:2545:/mfgprodev/devbadb
/devsche/i_apoext.db using the JDBC driver "com.progress.sql.jdbc.JdbcProgressDriver" : com.sap.aii.adapter.jdbc.sql.DriverManagerException: Unable to locate a suitable JDBC driver to establish a connection to URL " jdbc:JdbcProgress:T:156.5.31.65:2545:/mfgprodev/devbadb
/devsche/i_apoext.db "
I tried using the following all URLs,
1. jdbc:JdbcProgress:T:156.5.31.65:2545:i_apoext.
2. jdbc:JdbcProgress:T:156.5.31.65:2545:i_apoext.db
3.
jdbc:JdbcProgress:T:156.5.31.65:2545:/mfgprodev/devbadb
/devsche/i_apoext.
4.
jdbc:JdbcProgress:T:156.5.31.65:2545:/mfgprodev/devbadb
/devsche/i_apoext.db.
Can anyone please help me out in solving this issue.
May be the cause for this is :
1) The Wrong URL format
2) CLASSPATH is not setted properly..
Can you look more into this stuff.
Thanks,
Soorya.Hi,
To access any database fromm XI, using the JDBC adapter, the corresponding drivers have to be installed on the XI server.
Just check this note 831162.
Also, check this PDF to install Drivers in XI,

My iphone started freezing 2 days ago while taking a picture and again while using an application and then restart but the battery was never low. today it froze, restarted then showed white static looking lines and won't turn on at all. Please Help
I can't restart the iphone to reset or restore. I held the homebutton down and the homebutton + sleepbutton down at the same time. The apple doesn't even appear.
I've also tried connecting it to the charger. It's not charging and dosn't recongize it.
I tried connecting the phone to itunes on the computer to see if it registered and charged it but that didn't work either. -
I have a mac book pro with Boot Camp that also runs windows. I upgraded to Lion and now the mac side crashes/freezes periodically, especially iphoto. I am told by the genius' that I probably need to "clean" it and reinstall lion using the "recovery drive" which resets everything back to default and reinstalls the lion operating system. My question is will this also delete the "windows" partition drive and all that data too. If so that will be a huge pain in the ___ to back up and reinstall boot camp and windows. I want to shoot the lion.
There is no system like Acronis for the Mac platform. You can try using the buiilt in Disk Utility to create an Image of the complete Mac drive but I have found that this does not work very well as on tryiing to restore it gives errors sometimes.
You can use SuperDuper or Carbon Copy Cloner to create a bootable Clone of your system partition. But that is only for the System partition and not the complete drive.
If you use Boot Camp to install Windows on your Mac neither of those two programs will clone the Windows side.
Neither will Disk utility as Mac's can not create or write to a NTFS partition. So some other program is need for that. -

How to use DB2 XA driver instead of default DB2 driver
Hi,
I've been using the default DB2 driver (com.ibm.db2.jcc.DB2Driver) for a datasource until now. I need to switch to using an XA approved driver to handle some two phase commits. It appears Oracle has an XA driver for DB2 (weblogic.jdbcx.db2.DB2DataSource) but whenever I use it I get the following error:
[BEA][DB2 JDBC Driver][DB2]PROGRAM NAME NULLID.DDJU360B 0X4A44424334444232 NOT FOUND IN PLAN null
What does this error mean? How can I switch to an XA DB2 driver?
Thanks...DB2 running on AIX:
select * from sysibm.sysversions;
7010200 2001-04-11 17:01:21.478428 WBDID04
8020000 2005-02-01 19:55:13.083939 SYSIBM
8020800 2007-09-08 08:16:45.496058 WBDID04
WebLogic Server 10.3 running on Windows XP.
Using the XA driver works fine for WebLogic Server 8.1 and the existing DB2 database. So, I'm wondering what went wrong when I upgraded to 10.3.
The error happens on server startup when it's trying to test the connection:
<25-May-2010 3:28:44 o'clock PM GMT-06:00> <Error> <JDBC> <BEA-001112> <Test "SELECT COUNT(*) FROM SYSIBM.SYSDUMMY1" set up for pool "csp" failed with exception: "java.sql.SQLException: [BEA][DB2 JDBC Driver][DB2]PROGRAM NAME NULLID.DDJC360B 0X4A44424334444232 NOT FOUND IN PLAN null".>
Any ideas? -
System highly unstable and crashes while using Bluetooth (Plantronics)
I got the new Macbook Pro with Leopard 10.5.6 and "some what" happy with the performance. OS looks to be buggy, in particular while using bluetooth devices or with high load and I have uploaded crash dumps couple of times to apple (support listening??) . I observed that when I use the Plantronics Pulsar 590A (http://www.plantronics.com/northamerica/enUS/products/cat1150057/cat5420035/prod29780013) watching video (iTunes, iMovie) the headset behaves strange i.e after all the hassle of going through the frequent connectivity issue (for which there's a question pending with no answer ), the sound drops or there's some crackling noise etc.
More annoying problem is that the system crashes very frequently. i.e. while using the BT headset, watch video or listen to music for couple of minutes, close the app or put the system to sleep, then after some time try watching or listening some thing else, the system becomes unbelievably slow and finally gives up with an error message - Kernel panic, system needs to be restarted. Hold down the power button for several seconds or press the Restart button. If I don't use the bluetooth head set, the crashes are not so frequent but will crash for sure (I extensively use Virtualbox with one or two guest oses and most of the other crashes are from Virtoalbox)
Also I observed that the Microsoft NB 5000 mouse also behaves odd i.e. Connection keeps getting dropped.
Any ideas/suggestions ? I think this is the problem with Mac OS bluetooth driver as both these devices works without any problem on Windows XP/Vista on other hardware (not Mac x86).Try reinstalling OS X:
How to Perform an Archive and Install
An Archive and Install will NOT erase your hard drive, but you must have sufficient free space for a second OS X installation which could be from 3-9 GBs depending upon the version of OS X and selected installation options. The free space requirement is over and above normal free space requirements which should be at least 6-10 GBs. Read all the linked references carefully before proceeding.
1. Be sure to use Disk Utility first to repair the disk before performing the Archive and Install.
Repairing the Hard Drive and Permissions
Boot from your OS X Installer disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button. When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Installer menu (Utilities menu for Tiger.) After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list. In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive. If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported, then quit DU and return to the installer.
2. Do not proceed with an Archive and Install if DU reports errors it cannot fix. In that case use Disk Warrior and/or TechTool Pro to repair the hard drive. If neither can repair the drive, then you will have to erase the drive and reinstall from scratch.
3. Boot from your OS X Installer disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button. When you reach the screen to select a destination drive click once on the destination drive then click on the Option button. Select the Archive and Install option. You have an option to preserve users and network preferences. Only select this option if you are sure you have no corrupted files in your user accounts. Otherwise leave this option unchecked. Click on the OK button and continue with the OS X Installation.
4. Upon completion of the Archive and Install you will have a Previous System Folder in the root directory. You should retain the PSF until you are sure you do not need to manually transfer any items from the PSF to your newly installed system.
5. After moving any items you want to keep from the PSF you should delete it. You can back it up if you prefer, but you must delete it from the hard drive.
6. You can now download a Combo Updater directly from Apple's download site to update your new system to the desired version as well as install any security or other updates. You can also do this using Software Update.
Some third-party peripherals may not be compatible with OS X. This may be especially a problem with peripherals that use proprietary drivers such as mouse software. If you are using Microsoft's driver software with your mouse consider uninstalling the software and driver. If this helps with your mouse, then you might try using SteerMouse - VersionTracker or MacUpdate - instead of the Microsoft software. -
Problems showing german special characters using DB2 jdbc driver
Hi JDBC gurus,
In my application the special german characters(umlauts...) are not shown correctly when I'm using IBM jdbc driver(type 2). When I switch to jdbcodbc driver everything is correct. So is there any trick, some connection parameter, some property or something like this? Something like "setCharset" or "umlauts" or something? I could not find anything in web :-(
It is also hard to imagine that nobody has faced this problem. Or it is very trivial...
The second problem:
I have downloaded a new driver (com.ibm.db2.jcc.DB2Driver) but when I try to connect with DB I'm getting
com.ibm.db2.jcc.b.SqlException: No license present. What does it mean - no license? I'm going to clear with our DB admin if the reason can be that I have no rights to connect directly with DB without having client installed locally on my PC. This is only what comes to my mind.
Environment:
DB: DB2 7.x
Web-Server: Tomcat 5.x
Hibernate 3.1.xActually the problem is ONLY symbol - scharfes S. Other umlauts are shown correctly...
What is wrong with that symbol????
Many thanks in advance,
Giorgi -
I have a SSIS project that I am newly running on the SQL server (2005) . It was previously run on my PC. I am importing data from a DB2 server to the SQL server.
I am in the SA group on the server
My connection to DB2 works
When open the package and run it in preview mode, I can retrieve the data.
When I execute the package I get the below errors:
[MIDAS OLE DB Source [1]] Error: The AcquireConnection method call to the connection manager "NGMDSPA.alharris" failed with error code 0xC0202009.
[DTS.Pipeline] Error: component "MIDAS OLE DB Source" (1) failed validation and returned error code 0xC020801C.
What I have already done that has not worked:
The original Protection level was set to EncryptSensitiveWithPassword.
I have reset the Package Password.
I have set the protection level to DontSaveSensitive
I saved the package on the server and set a Package Password.
I created a new package, set the Protection level to DontSaveSensitive, set a package password in a configuration file using the Package Configuration Wizard.
Error continuesYes. The Drivers are installed and I have a successfull connection. I am trouble shooting the issue on the server in BIDS. I can connect to the DB2 server via the Connectionmanager. I can also preview the data in the OLE
DB source connection. Therefore I know that I have a proper connection
If you're setting option as DontSaveSensitive then you need to pass the connection information from configuration file/ config table. Otherwise it wont be able to use it for connecting to your source/destination servers. This is the recommended way as it
will enable you to change connection info at runtime.
If you want connection info to persist you need to use protection level as EncryptSensitiveUsingUserKey or EncryptSensitiveUsingPassword and set a password.
Please Mark This As Answer if it helps to solve the issue Visakh ---------------------------- http://visakhm.blogspot.com/ https://www.facebook.com/VmBlogs -

RD WebAccess doesn't show RemoteApps while using RD Connection Broker
Environment:
All servers have Windows Server 2008 R2 installed
Remote Desktop Session Hosts:
RDSH01

Remote Desktop Web Access
# Local Users and Groups:

# Installed roles:

Remote Desktop Connection Broker
# AD groups:
Session Directory Computers --> Member: RDSH01, RDSH02, RDSH03
TS Web Access Computers --> Member: DC01, RDSH01, RDSH02, RDSH03
## Problem ###
For some users the RemoteApps will not be displayed on RD Web Access Web site when the
RD connection broker DC01 is used as source! If one of the three servers is selected as RemoteApp source it works without any error.
On DC01 I find the message “Error in the WMI interface to rdfarm.domain.local. Check that the machine is running and connected to the network. If the
problem persists, reboot the machine. Error Code: 0x800706BA“. All connections, pings, nslookup including FQDN request works fine.
WMI and DCOM are also checked, security permission and group membership is correct. Firewalls are all disabled!
Any idea what to check next?Hi,
Thank you for posting in Windows Server Forum.
The error which you are facing seems to occur because the communication between the RD web access and RD connection Broker is not communicating. Please verify the below two things.
1. Verify that the RemoteApp and Desktop Connection Management service is started.
2. Log on to the RD Web Access server that is configured to use the RD Connection Broker server.
The RD Web Access server that is configured to use the RD Connection Broker server must be available to communicate with the RD Connection Broker server.
a. To open Remote Desktop Web Access Configuration, click Start, point to
Administrative Tools, point to Remote Desktop Services, and then click
Remote Desktop Web Access Configuration.
b. In the Domain\user name box, type a valid domain and user account name.
c. In the Password box, type the password for the user account.
d. Verify that you can successfully log on to the RD Web Access server by using Remote Desktop Web Access Configuration.

If still not resolved then please check the below Q&A regarding RD Connection Broker.
Q. I’m using RD Connection Broker as the RemoteApp source in RD Web Access, but RD Web Access isn’t showing any icons. Why?
A. There are several reason for this, at last it found a bug. “There’s a
known bug where Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI) permissions for the Terminal Services namespace disappear, leaving RD Web Access unable to query RD Connection Broker as a RemoteApp source. Re-adding the
RD Web Access server to the TS Web Access Computers group on RD Connection Broker resolves this issue for a while (but will most likely happen again over time). See
this TechNet Forum thread for more details and possible work-arounds.”

Laptop died and trying to use the hard drive as an external
Hello,
I'm new to this forum and did a search, but couldn't find the answer to my problem. I was using a Dell laptop with a Toshiba hard drive. I'm not sure what the model number is, but I think it's hdd2193.
At any rate, the laptop died (it stopped accepting power, nothing to do with the hard drive) but it died with some files on it that I need. Everywhere I looked on the web, it said that all you need to do when this happens is get an external enclosure and plug it in.
I did this and when I plug it in, Windows XP asks me to format my drive! It recognizes it is there, but won't access any of the files.
After some research, somebody informed me that certain Toshiba hard drives are locked to the laptop they came from, and as a result, might not work in an external hard drive enclosure. I need to know if this is the case, and if so, what I can do about it. If this is not the case, then I need to know why it's asking me to format, and how I can access my files. (If necessary, what data recovery program I could use to get my data off of it.)
Keep in mind that there was NOTHING wrong with the hard drive when I pulled it out of the laptop, and I was very careful about disconnecting and connecting it, so I don't believe the hard drive is corrupted. I think there is something else that's wrong, perhaps even the external hard drive enclosure.
Thanks a lot for any help you can give.MK4026GAX is the model number. That makes it a 40gig IDE 2.5" 9.5mm 5400RPM internal laptop hard drive.
That enclosure is one that is well known to have problems. I would say that the problem is with the enclosure personally, but without having it here to test I can only be about 90% certain of that. But since it draws it's power from the USB port I would have to lean in that direction. Comments on the Newegg site, along with comments I have read elsewhere show that the problem you are having is well known to happen with that enclosure though. If you can try plugging it into a POWERED USB hub or directly into one of the motherboards USB ports. Those normally supply more power than the USB ports mounted on the front of the case. Also, do NOT use a USB extension cord as they tend to cause issues with these types of USB powered enclosures. I normally use one of these to retrieve data from hard drives. http://www.microcenter.com/single_product_results.phtml?product_id=0285941 I've found them to be much more reliable and easier to use than an enclosure for temporary use. I've yet to have a working drive that it won't work with. Plus it works with ALL SATA and IDE hard drives from laptops and desktops.
I know for a fact that it isn't a FAT file system, as that only recognizes hard drive partitions up to 2gigs in size. If it's Windows XP it's either FAT32 or NTFS. Since both systems have XP then it wouldn't matter as XP supports both. I have no idea about the Mac as I don't use them (they aren't reliable enough and too many limitations to be usefull to me).
If you don't post your COMPLETE model number it's very difficult to assist you. Please try to post in complete sentences with punctuation, capitals, and correct spelling. Toshiba does NOT provide any direct support in these forums. All support is User to User in their spare time. -
HT4101 Lost all Photos while Using Camera Connection Kit to Nikon D70 -HELP!
After using with my Nikon D70, the photos are not on my camera - says now incompatible file format. And they cannot be seen on iPad. on iPad there is a gray box that says 'jpeg' in it. Where are my photos? Can I get them back?
You can't export any type of files using the camera connection kit.
There are some wireless external hard drives that can be used with the iPad.
The Kingston Wi-Drive, which costs $50 for the 16 Gigabyte, and then $30 more for every 16 gigs more. It works by you turning it on and then accessing the files on it from an app that you download on your iDevice. You can access music, movies, and other stuff. No connections or anything, it works like a WiFi connection, you connect to it from the setting on the iPad under wireless networks.
Then there is the Seagate GoFlex, which some would recommend over the Wi-Drive. But this one costs $199 and had 500 Gigabytes of storage. It works the sameway as the Kingston: no wires, runs over its wireless connection. You can actually fit up to 300 HD movies on it.
Another option:
Expand your iPad's storage capacity with HyperDrive

Passing a login and password while using JNDI for RT jobs
Why can we not pass a user name and password when using JNDI for Real Time jobs? Can it be passed in the URL line or somewhere else that I'm missing? This is frustrating as we actually have to connect using Anonymous with no password which opens up so many security holes that we simply can't go to production with this. Please advise.
you can set the login using the JNDI properties file and create the file in the classpath, but again the password will be in plain text
please file a case with Support I think this can be added to JMS adapter operation (user credentials)
