SQLite in Dreamweaver?

I'm tring to make Dreamweaver connect to and let me manage an SQLite file database for ShufordTech.com, but cant figure out how to make it work?
I've found the Dreamweaver database options, but it seems to only work with MySQL, is this correct?
I'm using CS6.

Open the Preferences panel (Edit menu on Windows, Dreamweaver menu on a Mac), and select the Site category. There are two checkboxes there for dependent files. Make sure both are selected. The Dreamweaver default is NOT to upload/download dependent files. You need to click Yes, if you want the dependent files to be included.

AIR, Dreamweaver, SQLite, JS Push Notification

Hello all,
I am perty new to AIR. I have made some simple Javascript html pages run with it, but now I would like to make something more complicated. I would like to have a AIR app that will display an HTML window with data that pushed from a certain URL.
I have tried iFrame, txt files, etc... but nothing is working. I have it all on my localhost, so I didn't think there would be an issue.
Then I thought, what about SQLite. I could use a text editor that updates the SQLite db and then pushes the message to my computer when I login.
Any thoughts on how to implment this? Can I do this with just Dreamweaver, HTML and Javascript?

What I am doing is trying to make an alert that shows up when someone logs onto their computer, if there is a new alert to be shown.
I don't have access to anything but an Oracle database, so I am going about it possibly with SQLite I guess. You might have a simpler suggestion.
Originally I thought I could easily program a function to check a file "last update time" and then display the text of the file if it is the newer one.... SO that is the route I thought I would go.
Does that clear it up a little? It's a simple transparent window with JS running to put it into the bottom right corner of the screen and little "ding" when a new message is found in the directory.

Dreamweaver w/ sqlite on linux mobile

I have created a web app using dreamweaver CS3 on my machine.
I now need to access the app locally on a linux based mobile
device. I need to install sqlite on the mobile device first. I had
heard there may be a plug in of some sort to download in
dreamweaver. Please advise.

Thanks for the quick response, I got it sorted in the end. I was fortunate enough to get some time with a DBA and he suggested trying to give the wizard a SID rather than a service name, and that worked.

Dreamweaver 8 'Brace balancing' bug

One of the worst features of php is the reliance on braces
for flow control.
Although I try to carefully indent my code to indicate where
I am, I frequently
get into trouble because I have overlooked some brace
somewhere. Dreamweaver's
'Brace balancing' feature is a great help, but unfortunately
in Dreamweaver 8 it
suffers from a serious bug, in that it will balance on braces
in comments, or
even mistakenly placed in HTML code. It usually seems to
ignore brackets, but
this morning it is being thrown into confusion by a left
bracket inside an
assignment statement: $test_str = 'if(';
Naturally this is in a complicated piece of code in which I
have made some
stupid mistake, and it makes the Brace balancing completely
useless.
Can anyone tell me if the latest version also suffers from
this bug?

A real database is optimized to handle such things. If the
tables are
properly indexed, a search for all matching records is very

SQL can also be used to analyze the data or even extract and

I could do it in the script, but it's much more efficent to
let the
database do this and have it return an additional field in
the result
set that already contains this full name in the required
format. So SQL
can easily return informations that are not directly stored
in the DB,
but generated on-the-fly. And this was just a very simple
example.
You should definitely give it a try if you find the time.

How to bind xml or any data to a mobile list in Dreamweaver?

I am trying to figure out what should be a simple thing in Dreamweaver.
That is while using jquery mobile, how do I attach an xml file to the attribute list elements?
If that isn't possible, would someone be able to tell me or direct me to a way to handle data within Dreamweaver for mobile apps. I'm over the top trying to figure out all of the technologies. It appears that HTML5, xml, sqlite, and json all have possibilities. I have a simple database of maybe 300 items: an image and a description. The data will reside and be read client side on the mobile app.
I want to read the items into a list. Then call up individual items on a new "page" based on the user's list item selection. This is so easy in Dashcode under Mac. Surely, I must be missing something in Dreamweaver 5.5.

SQL Verification Problem / Muse Form Issue (Server uses MySQL muse uses SQLite) I'm in desperate need of help

       Alright well here is my issue... I have been trying to fix it on my own for the past week non stop and I have finally came to a solid conclusion as to the cause of the issue.
   I always get the error "The server has encountered an error..." in red text when anyone tries to submit a form and also when I try and test it myself. This led me to test the server / site for compatibility or issues by using the test:

I got the first two checks green (pass) and the third test threw a red check meaning I was having an issue with SQL verification. This then led me to days of trying to work with my hosting provider (one.com) trying to solve the problem and I was told that they use mySQL on their servers and that they couldn't do anything on their end to solve the issue. I read alot that we are recommended in this case to try and get our host to add the SQLite database to their server or whatever it is they would do, long story short I guess many people are able to ask their host to make SQLite work and most accept and add SQLite functionality to their servers but unfortunately my hosting provider doesn't want to do this and they said they were sorry and that I would need to either switch the script to work with mySQL or figure something else out...
   I took a lot of time building my site and I dont want to take the form out. I absolutely need it... I know many post on here saying "forms dont work, oh poop " or "adobe sucks I dont want to use business catalyst grrr" but I tried to find the source of the problem and I've successfully came to the conclusion that my issue is that my script wants to use SQLite but in order for my sites forms to work the server needs to have SQLite as well... My idea is that if I can configure the script and the site itself to use mySQL instead of SQLite the SQL verification will then not be an issue and my websites forms will function with no issues. I am curious if a member of the staff with adobe has experience with this particular issue and can help me out? or if a member of the adobe community has solved this problem? If not I am hoping that with the description I provided that someone with knowledge of mysql, sqlite or code in general could help me modify the script or write a new script that will allow the forms to work properly. I know its a long shot, I say that because this discussion is full of people who used muse in favor of dreamweaver because just like a large number of people in the muse discussion area, I'm a graphic designer, with plenty of computer experience, art and design skill and I am extremely familiar with photoshop. Muse is perfect in so many ways. In fact, like I mentioned above, I don't even have a complaint at this time about muse. I understand the form issue in this case, and I imagine in thousands of other users situations, is all just a matter of scripts and compatibility.. Its just a little issue between the SQLite scripts we are all given when we export our muse website and the SQL version our various hosting service may be using on their servers.
   Just incase I missed anything, to provide just a bit more info on the topic and myself for anyone who may be able to help:
I can alter the text inside of the scripts easily if anyone happens to know any lines of code that easily solve this issue (making the muse contact forms, which are native to SQLite, functional on a server using mySQL)
I was told one way I could make the forms work on a server using mySQL (or any version other than SQLite) If I were to make changes to adobe muses SQL version by converting the SQLite db to mySQL db (db = database)
I am computer literate and I can take any directions necessary, I really just need to get this done, I really appreciate any help I can get!!

Insert SQLite database into a phone app

Would like to use a sqlite database in my android/ios phone app how would I be able to implement this into my project?

Thank you for your response. Anouther question is now that i have the database in the app and running, how would i call the database to get specific information. Example: I have a database which consists of students name on the columns and on the rows i have homerooms, the apps purpose is to find the students id number by matching the rows and columns to get the student id number.
Also there are multiple dataabases, for the different schools. that would need to accesed locally on the phone.
How would i acomplish this using dreamweaver. Please see example below
Screen one would ask for School name which you would pick
Screen two would ask for the homeroom
Screen three would ask for students name
Screen Four would tell you there ID number

Dreamweaver Air Extension

Hi I have tried unsuccessfully to add the air extension .mxp file (by double clicking on the file in finder) to Dreamweaver CC on an imac running Mavericks - everytime DW crashes - I have unistalled and reinstalled Dreamweaver but thi sdoes not help. Any suggestions? I was hoping to use the air extension to creat an app that utilises sqlite.

I don't know this error. I guess it is probably because
Dreamweaver could not create the certificate file. In that case,
you might change to another directory to output the certificate.

Adobe Bridge Buttons in Dreamweaver, Flash, and Fireworks?

Hello,
Adobe says that the button to connect to Adobe bridge is in
every CS3 application. I can find it in Photoshop, Illustrator, and
even Contribute, a former Macromedia project, but none of the other
Macromedia projects (Dreamweaver, Flash, Fireworks) have one. Am I
missing it, or is this a glitch?

Go to Edit > Prefs > Enable Version Cue. Once you do
that look in the lower left corner of the flash
application - you should see "Open" with an arrow. Clicking
on it will popup "Reveal in Bridge" button.

Dreamweaver 6 - Images going in to wrong folder

In older versions of Dreamweaver I was able to specify the default images folder for a site. I can't find a place to do that in Dreamweaver 6 and images inserted from outside the designated site are ending up in the main (html) folder instead of the images folder so I have to manually move them to keep things organized the way I want them. How do I get Dreamweaver 6 to behave like older versions and put the images where I want them in the first place?

I misread the default images folder as the default root folder & went right by it.

How can I make sure my history doesn't expire and that I can transfer over places.sqlite?

There's probably alot of questions on this subject asked already but I've gone over just about all of the possibly relevant ones that've been already asked and I still can't figure out what to do. I'm trying to move my complete history from an XP Firefox profile over to a Windows 7 profile on another computer. Do I just do it by copying the places.sqlite file within that XP profile over into my USB flash drive, then replacing the places.sqlite in the Winodws 7 profile with the one from the other one? And after the file's in the right profile will I be able to just view all the sites I viewed on the old computer on the new one's history dialog box? I only am transferring my XP history to my Windows 7 because I want to look at stuff several months back and it keeps expiring on me, even to the point of getting rid of a month of history a week or so ago. This brings me to my other point, I keep up fairly well with updating both of my Firefoxes but recently (and I think this was way, way after they updated the browser so the history isn't set to expire by days anymore) the history just isn't reliable anymore. My XP will not only expire older months of history faster and faster it seems, but individual websites at the end of each month will actually disappear as I view new ones, instead of it all staying in there and just expiring each old month as a whole. Also, random sites in every month scattered all over the list of URLs will just disappear, and random sites that I've only visited in the past couple days will insert themselves randomly into much older months of history, which makes it hard to figure out the URLs I've seen, this last one seems like a common problem from what I've read, and all of these problems seem to be slowly creeping into my Windows 7 as well when they were originally on only my XP. The thing is for a very long time my Windows 7 would keep every ounce of my history that I kept on it, unless of course I went through the Clear History process myself. Now it seems to be slowly deleting it and having all the other problems that I mentioned earlier. I've got 592 GB out of 931 GB that's free space on my Windows 7 that I want to transfer my XP history into, and my Control Panel System panel says I've got 8 gbs of RAM in total. If I need to get some other information on RAM mention how to do that if you could. So in total, how can I transfer my XP history over into my Windows 7 so I can view all the sites I viewed on my XP in my Windows 7 history panel, as well as view all the old expired and/or manually deleted history on my Windows 7, without worrying about whether it will expire itself while I'm viewing it and writing down the relevant URLs that I need to know about. If I can only keep all my history through installing an add-on, a link to a relevant legal add-on that'll work well on both operating systems would be appreciated. Thanks to all here. (:

I wish to use VBA and Excel to programmatically open numbered Dreamweaver HTML (CS5) and find and replace text in the code view of these files, save and close them.
I have 5000 associations between Find: x0001 and Replace: y0001 in an Excel sheet.

How do i remove image links to adobe site with my dreamweaver built flash gallery ?

This is probably a very simple solution, but i can't figure out how to remove the link to the adobe site when you click on the images in my gallery--I built a site in dreamweaver used the insert media option and added my photos---when uploaded, my images in the gallery are clickable and take you to the adobe site...how do i make the images have no link??

Which version of DW are you running?
There are plenty of jQuery solutions and commercial plugins to create photo galeries.
Some require hand coding,

Weird boxes in code view from Dreamweaver 8 to Dreamweaver MX

I have Dreamweaver 8 and my coworker has Dreamweaver MX. I
have an XML document save from Dreamweaver 8. When the document is
opened in Dreamweaver MX, there are alot of little boxes thrown in
throughout the code. For example commented code has a box after
each letter and each new line of code has a box at the start.
Here's an example of what I mean. (I will use "O " instead of
a box, because I don't know how to insert a box)
Dreamweaver 8:

Dreamweaver MX:
O<O!O-O-OHOeOlOloO OtOhOiOsO OiOsO OmOyO OcOoOdOeO
O-O-O>
As you can see this make the code virtually unreadable.
Does anyone know a way around this issue?

I figured it out myself. For anyone else that encounters this
problem the solution is to. Open the document in WordPad and then
save it as a "text document". Then reopen it in Dreamweaver MX and
the little boxes are gone.
