SQLite Loadable Extensions; custom function registration in AIR?

I asked over on the SQLite mailing list about whether they could add a built-in function to SQLite to reverse a character string.  I know how to do this in ActionScript in the client but I have good reasons for wanting the function in the database. Sometimes I might want to do this when working at the SQLite3.exe command-line. But  I wanted to have the reversal occur in the database mainly because the original string could contain decomposed Unicode sequences; I wanted to avoid completely any possibility of the Adobe libraries or any other library raising a "malformed Unicode character" error if they should encounter the codepoint for a combining form before encountering the codepoint for the base-character, as could occur when the  codepoints are flipped "raw" without regard for preserving composed sequences.
Oracle has a reverse function in its "raw" libraries and SQLServer has a reverse function that reverses the order of characters in a string codepoint-by-codepoint, so I am hoping the folks at SQLite have been convinced to add it, but who knows.
Anyway, enough background. Here's the question. I kept getting the advice to "write my own C function to do the reversal" and simply have "my application register the C function with SQlite". Do the Adobe libraries for SQLite support custom user function registration?
Here is the link to the updated documentation, not all of which I understand.  I hope the SQLite folks at Adobe could provide an answer.

  • Why is there a limitation on the number of boolean parameters in a custom function?

    We have a custom function which 'flattens' four text temporal values into a single temporal value.
    We want to do the same with boolean temporal values.
    However, OPM throws an error when  it reads the metadata for the function in extensions.xml.  It says all boolean paramaters need to be last.  We can't put them all last as there are more than one.
    This is OPM error code OPM-W00001.
    Any ideas on how I can work around this limitation?

    Taken from OPA Developer's help:
    Only one boolean parameter can be passed to a function, and it must be the last parameter.  This is due to a limitation in the rule compiler.  Any number of other parameters may be present however.
    Should you want to pass more boolean values, create a temporary/document text variable with values "True"/"False" using rule table.

  • Console Extension Custom View development

    Hi,
    I am trying to get started on developing a SCCM 2012 SP1 Console Extension (Custom View) for a removable media security solution.
    My goal is to mimic the "Assets and Compliance"->"Endpoint Protection"->"Antimalware Policies".
    I have created the XML so that a tree-node displays correctly under the "Endpoint Protection" parent node by following "How to Create Node XML for a Configuration Manager
    Console Grid View" (yep, that is the easy part :-) ).
    Where I need some help is creating the corresponding assembly dll.  I thought following the SDK documentation "How to Create a Configuration Manager Console Custom View" would
    be a great start and thought there might be a related sample in the SDK but this page leaves me with the following questions (I hope someone can answer):
    1.  What Configuration Manager reference assembly contains IConsoleView2?
         I have added Microsoft.ConfigurationManagement.ManagementProvider as a reference assembly and added a using (C#) for every namespace in the assembly but IConsoleView2 still does not resolve.
    2.  The documentation is saying to subclass OverviewControllerBase but I can find no documentation on what this class is.
    Thanks in advance,
    Tony

    Hi Alfonso,
    I did eventually release the console extension (see screen shot at the bottom of the page
    here).
    It has been a while since I worked on this code but as I remember, once I got the references straightened out (see this thread), a lot of the confusion I had was just understanding that some of the programming that had to be done was in WPF (not WinForm).
     The sample code from Microsoft does work though.
    I never was able to figure out how to tie the "tree node menu item" functionality into the Ribbon (at the top of the SCCM console) so that is still on my TODO list.
    So, my advice to you is to start with the Microsoft example code (which I did) from the SCCM SDK and if you get compile time errors, look first for the SCCM assembly references (Microsoft.[ConfigurationManagement, ConfigurationManagement.ManagementProvider,
    EnterpriseManagement.UI.Foundation, EnterpriseManagement.UI.WpfViews) and then at the WPF assembly references (PresentationCore, PresentationFramework) for missing class references.
    I hope this information can help you.  Good luck sir!

  • Custom function in xMII

    Hi,
    Is there a way to include our own custom function in the link editor. I am talking about the fucntions which are in drop-down list of Link editor.
    Here is what I want to do. I want to include a custom function so that it returns a date in xMII date format given the SAP internal date and time format fields.
    Let me know if I need to be more clear.
    Thanks,
    Srinivas.

    You should be able to use the datetoxmlformat function to do this, Srinivas.
    Alternatively, you could create a custom action block, but at present, the function list is not extensible (interestingly, all of the code to allow extensions is in there, but we haven't exposed a mechanism for enabling it).

  • Custom Function giving compile error

    Hi All,
    I have created a custom function to get the current time stamp. Below is the java code:
    package com.oracle.determinations.examples;
    import com.oracle.determinations.engine.CustomFunction;
    import com.oracle.determinations.engine.EntityInstance;
    import java.util.*;
    import java.text.*;
    public class CurrentTimeStamp extends CustomFunction {
       public Object evaluate(EntityInstance entityInstance, Object[] objects) {
          Date dNow = new Date( );
          SimpleDateFormat ft =
          new SimpleDateFormat ("MM/dd/yyyy HH:mm:ss");
        /*System.out.println(ft.format(dNow));*/
          return ft.format(dNow);
    My Extension.xml is as below:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
    <extension>
      <functions>
        <function name="CurrentTimeStamp" return-type="text">
      <arg name="entered-name" type="text"/>
           <handler platform="java" class="com.oracle.determinations.examples.CurrentTimeStamp"/>
          </function>
      </functions>
    </extension>
    The extension.xml is placed under following path:
    Development/Extension/CurrentTimeStamp/extension.xml
    The JAR file is palced under following path:
    Development/Extension/CurrentTimeStamp/lib/CurrentTimeStamp.jar (the jar file includes the com.oracle.determination.example folder structure)
    When i am using CurrentTimeStamp() in the rule base, it is throwing compile error saying:
    Error after text CurrentTimeStamp(' Fount Text: ')'. Exptected value variable or constant OPA - E00111
    Can you please help me where i am getting wrong and why it is not identifying the function?
    Thanks,

  • Custom Functions Test

    Hi All,
    I'm trying to run the test custom function, the "CapitalizeFunction".
    apart from placing the lib folder, example.jar and extension.xml in the 'Extensions" folder - is there anything I require to do?
    My rule is
    {code}
    the test is complete if
    - the uppercase name is known
    the uppercase name = CapitalizeFunction(the lowercase name)
    {code}
    The error message I get is: "error after 'the uppercase name =', Found: 'CapitalizeFunction(the lower case name)'. Expected expression, variable, constant.
    Hope that helps.

    sorry the error message is: the local name for elements or attributes cannot be null or an empty string

    Custom function extensions are only supported for OPA v10.2 or later. I've looked at the project provided and the custom function extension was written against OPA v10.3 yet the project is indeed OPM v10.1, so it is not even going to look for the extension.
    Recompile your custom function to use OPA v10.1 and change the rule to be:
    the test is complete if
        the uppercase name is known
    the uppercase name = CallCustomFunction("CapitalizeFunction", "LOWER")where "LOWER" is the public name of the attribute "the lowercase name"

  • Custom function in WEC2013 KITL.dll

    The KITL Ethernet controller has a LED that should be controlled by the OAL. The access to the LED requires access to the Ethernet controller. Therefore this must be implemented in the KITL.dll.
    The platform\my_platform\drivers\ethdrv\my_driver library implements the LED control function. How do I access this function from OAL?

    In general you should not give the full path of the custom function, it should be instead relative to the project's include folder.
    eg:
    <custom-function platform="DotNet" library-path="CustomFunctions.dll" class="Viking.CustomFunctions.CustomFunctions"/>
    and then make sure the CustomFunctions.dll file is copied into the project's include folder before the project is built.
    By the way, if you're using 10.2 for a new project, the mechanism you are using is now superseded. A custom function extension is the new thing, and it will look a lot nicer when used in the rules. Refer to the topic "Write a Custom Function Extension" in the Developer Help for more information.

  • Combination of Custom Functions

    I use a Custom Function (Length) to determine the length of a text attribute. But for some reason in RuleBurst (9.4) it is not possible to combine more Custom Functions in 1 conclusion. The syntax TotalLength = Length("A") + Length("B") is accepted , but in the debugger I get the error "System.NullReferenceExeption: Object not set to an instance of an object".
    Is this in principle not possible or did I make an mistake in the description or development of the Cusom Function?
    Cheers, Pierre

    It sounds like you are using the 'extensions' method of building a custom function. Here's a couple of things to try:
    - make sure the parameter to the function is an attribute rather than a constant string. I can't recall if this is a definite limitation but I know it should work with an attribute so try that.
    - does it work when you use the 'generic' custom function calling method, ie. Number(CallCustomFunction("Length", "stringattr")) ?
    - 9.4 is an old version now, any particular reason you aren't using 10.1?

  • How to bring the custom function module in WE42?

    Hi,
    I have created a custom function module to post a custom idoc.
    Process code has been created thro WE42 and WE57 is done.
    Still I am not able to see the custom function module in the list (WE42) in order to assign it to process code.
    May i know the reason for this?
    Thanks.
    Thiyagu

    What makes you think that it should be visible in WE42? There is no F4-value help for this and you haven't added it manually yet, right.
    In WE42 you can manually add entries, so that's what I would do.

  • SSRS - Pass Field Value List To Custom Function Assembly And Display Result

    I have written a SQL Server Reporting Services custom function as a C# assembly DLL and added it to my report. The purpose of the function is to search for outlier records in a collection of data. The data is represented as an array of floating point -tuplets
    (float[][]). In a medical patient database, these might be things such as blood pressure, cholesterol, hight, weight, waist measurement, etc.
    Several user input parameters are provided in the report, including numeric seed values for this particular algorithm. One multivalued parameter is a list of the numeric columns to be used as input to the algorithm because, importantly,
    the user can choose any subset of the value columns. I have a tablix that will display columns from the dataset conditionally, based on which of those columns are chosen.
    At this point, there are two issues I'm having difficulty with:
    How do I, in the course of running the report, take just the numeric columns that the user has chosen (ignoring all others in the dataset) and pass them as a float[][] to my custom function? Or is there something in the
    Microsoft.ReportingServices namespace that I should use to query an input dataset and convert it to an array in my C# code?
    How can I present the array subset returned by my custom function in a tablix in the report?
    Note: One thought that occurs to me is that outlier records tablix could be contained in a subreport, but I'm not clear on the logistics of passing dataset field results from a master report to a subreport.
    I envision a final report when run to be similar to the following:
    - Mark Z.

    Hi Mark,
    Sorry for the delay.
    From your description, you want to pass the dataset data to a custom code array, and return the subset of the array, right? In this case, you can use a custom function to add the data to array, and use the a custom function to sort the data base on your
    requirement and then use a function to get the subset of the array. Here are some sample custom code for your reference.
    Add to arryay
    Dim values As System.Collections.ArrayList=New System.Collections.ArrayList()
    Function SetText(ByVal value As Integer) As Integer
        values.Add(value)
        return value
    End Function
    Sort array
    Function Sort()
    Dim i as Integer
    Dim j as Integer
    Dim t as Integer
    Dim n as Integer=values.Count-1
    For i=n To 1 Step-1
     For j=0 To i-1
     if values(j)<values(j+1) Then
        t=values(j)
        values(j)=values(j+1)
        values(j+1)=t
     End if
     Next j
    Next i
    End Function
    Return value.
    Function Rank(ByVal value As Integer)
       return values(value)
    End Function
    Assume that you pass [Weight] field to array, you can use the expression below on the Weight column:
    =Code.SetText(Fields!Weight.Value)
    Then use the expression below to get the values.
    PatientID:=Sort() & Lookup(Code.Rank(0),Fields!Weight.Value,Fields.Patient.Value,"Dataset")
    Height:=Lookup(Code.Rank(0),Fields!Weight.Value,Fields.Height.Value,"Dataset")
    Weight:=Code.Rank(0)
    Hope this helps.

  • Report Template driven by custom functions

    Hello,
    I'm a newbie, and i'm trying to design a report template driven by a vw and/or stored proc to display information on a letterhead report.  Such as names that can change at any time.  I have another interface linked to the vw/sp to change that information at any time.  What i'm trying to get is the idea of how to create a template letterhead report that i don't have to go back into crystal to change whenever the administration name changes.
    Does anybody have any ideas or examples?  I'm thinking Custom Functions are the way to go but, i just don't know how to get started with using them if that's the way to go.
    Thanks in advance!

    Please re-post if this is still an issue

  • Unable to debug an exit in CALL CUSTOMER FUNCTION 003

    Hi Guys,
    I have an exit EXIT_SAPMV45A_003 that is called by CALL CUSTOMER FUNCTION 003. I had placed a break point at
    CALL CUSTOMER FUNCTION 003 and the debugger stops here but i am unable to debug inside this to reach into
    the code in EXIT_SAPMV45A_003 even after setting the system debugging on & Update debugging
    ON.
    Can someone help me with this?
    thanks
    Dan

    You have to include that Enhancement of that exit in the Project and Activate that project in the CMOD.
    The Enhancement for the exit EXIT_SAPMV45A_003 is V45A0003.
    Create a project in CMOD
    And inclue V45A0003 in the project.
    Activate the Project.
    Now, it will stop at break point.
