SQVI with join tables

Dear PP Gurus,
Please suggest how to create query using more than two tables, i am trying to create for PIR display, i have used tables PBIM, PBED, and PBHI, but i am not getting output, system is giving error "no data was selected", so please guide how to link this tables, or what is exact procedure to see data from more than one table.

even through the the material, plant, requirement type everything is same. IF THE MATERIAL HAVING MORE THAN ONE REQUIREMENT.
SAY SUPPOSE THE MATERIAL -X , PLANT XXXX, REMT TYPE - VSE
if the planning period is month
05month - 1000
06 month - 2000
so system show material, plant, requirement type everything two times. because the entry is two times . but if you include the period as diaplay field , you can find the diff periods.

They have one-to-one relationship linked by EVENT_ID.
I would like to create a named query like below joining 2 tables together.
Do I need to create any class descriptor first and how? I want this query to be available from the ADF data control so I can drag and drop this to my JSP page as a ADF table. I have no problem in working with single table. I have read thru the developer guide and try out many things like multitable info, aggregate mapping and couldn't figure out how this can be done. Please help!!!

Problem with joining tables in cmp bean

This is for an informix database. when i specify to join tables in CMP beans i get a sql error.. this is what the SQL join statement looks like when the server spits it out:
SELECT t0.id, t0.name, t0.available, t0.available_date FROM drs_product t0, outer drs_category t1 ON t0.style=t1.style WHERE t0.available = 'T'
it puts the "ON" string into the join?? this gives me a SQL error, it's supposed to be like this:
SELECT t0.id, t0.name, t0.available, t0.available_date FROM drs_product t0, outer join drs_category t1 WHERE t0.style=t1.style AND t0.available = 'T'
how can i fix this

nevermind..i figured it out again.. in the INFORMIX DYNAMIC SERVER.properties file replace the left join attribute with this:
LEFT_JOIN= left join
make sure there is a space before the "l" in left and a space after the "n" in join, otherwise it will be a sql error:
the previously LEFT_JOIN=, outer statement is clearly wrong for this database.

Unidirectional one-to-many with join table

According to http://docs.jboss.org/hibernate/orm/3.5/reference/en-US/html/associations.html#assoc-unidirectional-12m "A unidirectional one-to-many association on a foreign key is an unusual case, and is not recommended", instead they recommend using a join table, e.g.
create table Person ( personId bigint not null primary key )
create table PersonAddress ( personId not null, addressId bigint not null primary key )
create table Address ( addressId bigint not null primary key )
However if doing this, when using SQLDeveloper the Address table does not appear as a child table of Person, which it should be as a unidirectional one-to-many meaning that I can't create a cache group for Person and subsequently Person.
Is this something that can be worked around as I'm using a legacy schema created from Hibernate/JPA and the implications of changing are quite substantial?

Each Opremljenost has 1 objekat (there are 2 rows each with its own Objekat) and the same applies to the other 2 tables (PONUDE and TEHNICKE OPREMLJENOSTI) but for some reason they double up the values. If I run it without a where clause at all I get some values repeat itself up to 4 times. Does anyone have a clue what is wrong with my query?

You are joining a parent table (OBJEKTI) with three child tables (the other three: PON, TEH, OPR).
Whenever you do that, you will always get duplication of child-rows, if there are multiple child-rows for a parent-row in any of the three child tables.
For example, let P be a parent table, with two child tables, say C1 and C2.
Contents:
Table P:
p1
Table C1 (has two rows for row p1):
1 p1
2 p1
Table C2 (has three rows for row p1):
10 p1
20 p1
30 p1If you now do this:
select P.*,C1.*,C2.*

Problem with Joining Tables in VC

I am developing custom portal activity report in VC. I need to join WCR_USERPAGEUSAGE, WCR_WEBSTATCONTENT tables. I dont have access for SQL Editor. I have used Freeform query template in BI Integration wizard and created dataservice in that joined these tables. Here I couldn,t pass parameters to this dataservice. If I pass parameter , It shows application error as null. How can I solve this problem?.

How to deal with Join Table in SAP Query

Hi buddy,
I create a Infoset ZTest by some infotype, one of them is 0185, and 3208.
In 0185 there is a ICTYP and 3208 also SUBTY, and they are Join by that fields.
It means, add a new record in P0185 with ICTYP = 'RS', there is a new record add in P3208 automaticly.
Now, in my SAPQuery, I just need to input a ICTYP, and select the result. It always have unnessary records in output.
Fg. in P0185 have two records, ICTYP are 'RS', 'FR', so, in P3208 also have.
And input 'RS' as input selction paramters, it check the records which ICYTP is RS in P0185, but it won't do the check in P3208, because, in selction screen, it just have P0185-ICTYP.
So, the output will have problem.
I want to know how to fix this issue, or add some extra code in the SAPQuery....

How about this:
Build first an auxiliary table (you can truncate it every time) and in it:
create table auxtab as
select distinct employeeid, row_date from table1
union
select distinct employeeid, row_date from table2
union
select distinct employeeid, row_date from table3
union
Then you can use this "auxiliar" table as the driving one for outer joins
select * from auxtab left outer join table1 on ()
left outer join table2 on ()
left outer join table3 on ()
etc..

SQVI Join Tables

Hello everyone,
I'm trying to use SQVI to join table AGR_TCODES and TSTC and link TCODE. However, (I'm guessing) that since the Long Text on TCODE in one table is different than the other, I can not create a link between the two.
Any thoughts?

I wanted to do the same thing, and like you I can't get it to work.
Like with you the table AGR_TCDTXT isn't filled. So this is of no use.
Then I tried using this empty table as a sort of dummy table, linking TSTCT and AGR_TCODES, using "left outer joins". The joins are accepted in SAP, but as I expected it didn't work.

If you are using SQL-Plus or Reports you can use lexical parameters like:
SELECT * FROM emp &condition;
When you run the query it will ask for value of condition and you can enter what every you want. Here is a really fun query:
SELECT &columns FROM &tables &condition;
But if you are using Forms. Then you have to change the condition by SET_BLOCK_PROPERTY.

Problem with ORA-19025 when joining tables

I am querying a table that stores xml datata in an xml column. I an query this column without problems. If I join the table with another table (not xml). I get the error below.
ORA-19025: EXTRACTVALUE returns value of only one node
19025. 00000 - "EXTRACTVALUE returns value of only one node"
*Cause: Given XPath points to more than one node.
*Action: Rewrite the query so that exactly one node is returned.
I don't seem to have any subnodes in the fields I am querying and I dont know how joining to the second table introduces the problem.

There is no limit to the number of tables you can outer join as long as you join them correctly.

I have two main tables. Each has its of sub joined tables.
guest_id_for_reservation connects two major tables. This has
to be that way
because my guest may change the room status from single to
double (and the
similar exceptional requests).

guest_id_for_reservation
countrytable hoteltable
delegationtable roomtype
I form a query. I want to select distinct those results. But
it does not
work.
If I do not include any table related to reservation table
and its sub
joined tables (disregarding guest_id_for_reservation), it
works.
Is there a specific syntax for select distinct of this type
or any
workaround.?

Hi I'm still battling with this - have connected the AX to my Imac via ethernet and it shows up fine in Airport Utility. Status light is green and it says its set up to connect to my existing wireless network using wireless connection. Security in Network Preferences is the same for both: WPA2 Personal.
So I don't think there's a problem with the AX, and my current wireless network (BT Home Hub) is working fine.
And when I restore factory settings Airport Utility can see the AX before updating settings so the wireless side of AX must work too.
I'm figuring it must be something about the settings that mean AU can't see it anymore. But I can't work out what, since security is the same.
Any ideas would be great!

ANSI Standard Join with Nested Table

Does anyone know how to (or whether you actually can) use ansi standard table joins with nested tables.
Non-ansi standard would look something like this
SELECT e.empno
FROM departments d, TABLE(d.employees) e
WHERE d.deptno = 10;
Where d.employees is a nested table.
But if I try ansi-standard I like such:
SELECT e.empno
FROM departments d
JOIN TABLE(d.employees) e
WHERE d.deptno = 10;
I get
ORA-00905: missing keyword
because I have nothing to join it on.
Your help is very much appreciated

I think I will go with the NATURAL JOIN as it seems the cleanest option.

Update openquery remote table with join

Hi All,
I have a problem with OPENQUERY update on remote table. I've googled for days, and can't solve the problem.
Here is the problem:
Local server MS SQL 2005.
Remote server: MySQL.
The linked server is communicating through MySQL ODBC 5.1
I created the following code for update (tried many other version too, this is the last one):
update openquery(Remoteserver,'select products_id, products_price, products_last_modified, products_stock from products1')
set
products_price=A.products_price,
products_stock=A.products_stock,
products_last_modified=getdate()
FROM
(select * from vi_products_update) AS A INNER JOIN
openquery(octopus, 'select products_id from products1')AS B
ON A.products_id=B.products_id
When I run the query the columns are updated with the same value, for each record. It looks the value is the first which match the criteria. Each (remote and local) table has as primary key products_id. In this example I used as result set for local a view, but I have the same result if I use a table.
the products_last_modified column is updated in order, and if I update for e.g. the products_price with a constant that is ok too. The problem should be somewhere with join, but I can' get it where.

The OLE DB provider "MSDASQL" for linked server "KAYOTE_DEV" could not UPDATE table "[MSDASQL]". The rowset was using optimistic concurrency and the value of a column has been changed after the containing row was last fetched or resynchronized.
