SSIS Web Service Task Error with WCF Service

I have read all the other posts on this site and have not been able to resolve my issue.
For testing purposes i created a very simple WCF service that takes no arguments and returns true.  That is all it does.
When i create a winform client and instantiate the service i can run my service method and get true back so i know the service works.
I then create a test SSIS package with 1 task, a web service task.
I set the web service tasks properties as follows:
http connection: http://localhost/WCF_SSIS_Prototype/Service1.svc
wsdl file: C:\...\SSIS_WCF_Prototype\Service1.wsdl  (I know this is not a valid path, i changed it for posting to forum)
Service: Service1
Method: GetData
Variable: User::BResult
When i run the package i get the following error:
[Web Service Task] Error: An error occurred with the following error message: "Microsoft.SqlServer.Dts.Tasks.WebServiceTask.WebserviceTaskException: Could not execute the Web method. The error is: Method 'ProxyNamespace.Service1.GetData' not found..    at Microsoft.SqlServer.Dts.Tasks.WebServiceTask.WebMethodInvokerProxy.InvokeMethod(DTSWebMethodInfo methodInfo, String serviceName, Object connection)    at Microsoft.SqlServer.Dts.Tasks.WebServiceTask.WebServiceTaskUtil.Invoke(DTSWebMethodInfo methodInfo, String serviceName, Object connection)    at Microsoft.SqlServer.Dts.Tasks.WebServiceTask.WebServiceTask.executeThread()".
I'm not sure why it is saying "Method 'ProxyNamespace.Service1.GetData' not found.  It the web service task trying to create a proxy class and naming the proxy class namespace ProxyNamespace?
Any help is greatly appreciated.

Hi,
How  do you get around the same issue if your string type is based on a client token ?  I downloaded the .wsdl file, was able to see the service name, method and when selecting a method type, I am required to provide a client token which was given
to me.  (Name column = clienttoken, Type = string, Value = 2227656 - ec8922 (client token numbers goes there)?  I am new to use ssis and need your help please

  • Web service task: Error when returning an empty array

    Hi,
    I've encountered an annoying error when using a Web Service Task from an SSIS package in SQL Server Data Tools.
    [Web Service Task] Error: An error occurred with the following error message: "Microsoft.SqlServer.Dts.Tasks.WebServiceTask.WebserviceTaskException: Could not execute the Web method. The error is: Index was outside the bounds of the array..
       at Microsoft.SqlServer.Dts.Tasks.WebServiceTask.WebMethodInvokerProxy.InvokeMethod(DTSWebMethodInfo methodInfo, String serviceName, Object connection)
       at Microsoft.SqlServer.Dts.Tasks.WebServiceTask.WebServiceTaskUtil.Invoke(DTSWebMethodInfo methodInfo, String serviceName, Object connection, VariableDispenser taskVariableDispenser)
       at Microsoft.SqlServer.Dts.Tasks.WebServiceTask.WebServiceTask.executeThread()".
    It seems that the Web Service Task generates this error when returning an empty response from the WSDL. I've seen several topics about this here on MSDN but they are all from 2008-2009 and seem to suggest that
    this is a bug.  The workaround suggested is using a script task but I would really love to avoid that since my programming skills are lacking.
    I'm using Visual studio 2010 with SP1.

    Hello,
    From my own experience: in all the cases where I had to use SSIS 2008 to retrieve data or send data to Webservices, I had to revert to using Script Tasks or Script components. Whenever I tried with a Web service task, because the job looked simple, I had
    to abandon it in favour of Scripts. Keep in mind that I try to make use of the SSIS components as often as possible, before reverting to Scripting. But handling web services is the one exception, where I always use scripts. In SSIS 2012 I did not find
    any significant improvement of the Web service task and hence no compelling reason to use it.

    Could not load file or assembly 'iiglotg3.dll' or one of its dependencies.
    Access is denied..
    Looks like a permission issue or maybe the assembly don't exists on the server where the package is running; you should check that first.

    Thanks from me too Neal - this worked from me. I wan't able to consume directly from exchange because the certificate is broken. However, I was able to convince Google Chrome to let me view the /Services.wsdl and from there I could save the .wsdl and two
    .xsd files. In my case the problem lay at the top of the .wsdl file. I changed the following:
    <wsdl:types>
            <xs:schema xmlns:xs="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema">
                <xs:import namespace="http://schemas.microsoft.com/exchange/services/2006/messages" schemaLocation="messages.xsd"/>
            </xs:schema>
    by giving the same targetNamespace as assigned in the <wsdl:definitions element, so I ended up with
    <wsdl:types>
            <xs:schema xmlns:xs="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema" targetNamespace="http://schemas.microsoft.com/exchange/services/2006/messages">

  • Service request error with TDS3034B Scope

    Hello,
    I am getting an error with a service request when initializing my oscilloscope.  When I use the VISA Discard Events vi, there is an error 1073676292 that says
    VISA:  (Hex 0x3FFF0004) Operation completed successfully, but queue was already empty.
    However, immediately after, I use VISA Enable Event and get an error 1073676290 that says
    VISA:  (Hex 0x3FFF0002) Specified event is already enabled for at least one of the specified mechanisms.
    Both Discard and Enable Events are Service Request, so I am unsure why it would read that there is an empty queue, and then afterwards read that the Service Request is already enabled.
    Thank you for any help you may be able to give on the subject.

    Hello,
    Has the event already been enabled before this?  I believe it will stay enabled until the VISA Disable Event VI is called, and not the VISA Discard Events VI.

  • Can't call WCF Data Service from within a WCF Service

    I am trying to query my WCF Data Service from within a WCF Service and I receive a error 404.  However, when I query the data service from my application, it works just fine.  The WCF Service will work just fine if I comment out the Data Service
    query request.
    How do I get a WCF Service and a WCF Data Service to play nice?

    Hi,
    For this situation, first you could try to create the wcf data service and run it then consume the data service within your application by adding service reference.
    Here is an example for creating and consuming WCF Data service in console application, and for consuming the service in wcf service, you could just follow the same steps as the console application does.

  • Ssis execute process task error: process exit code was 1 while the expected was 0

    Hi Sir,
    in my SSIS Package(2012) i am using Execute Process Task which will call bat file.  bat file is located on UNC Path.i am having  the below script in the batch file.
     del \\servername\foldername\name.txt
     rcmd \\servername D:\name1.bat
     del \\servername\foldername\name2.txt
    xcopy \\servername\foldername\file.txt   \\server\foldername\outfilefolder
    i am getting the below error message:
    ssis execute process task error:  process exit code was 1 while the expected was 0
    i want know at what cases error exit code was 1?
    Thanks for your time.

    Hi prasad.alm,
    The error is generic and can be caused by various factors. Here are some suggestions for your reference:
    Manually run the executable to execute the batch file so that we can check whether the command lines in the batch file are correct or not.
    Check there are no duplicate/existing files in the destination folder.
    Try to run the package in 32-bit or 64-bit runtime mode.
    If the issue occurs when running a job, try to create a CmdExec type job step to call the excutable. If this job also fails, it might be an issue between executable and SQL Server Agent rather than the SSIS package itself.
    If the issue persists, enable logging for the package, and check if we can obtain more detailed error message for further analysis.

    Here's the scenario: A "start" button is clicked which sets up a Service/Task which includes I/O with a device. A changeListener is started, and the "start" button handler ends. Eventually, the changeListener detects a "change" and does its thing with the I/O device. NOW my question: How do I "notify" the user that the "change" (event) has occurred? "Update message" doesn't do anything since the "start" button routine has ended. I know I'm missing something fundamental here, but I'm baffled. (This is my first foray into the Service/Task business...) (The code in all other respects works great.) Thanks! L (Here is the boiled-down code.)

                                                BufferedReader inBR) {
                                this.usbDevice = usbDevice;
                                this.outPW = outPW;
                                this.inBR = inBR;
                            @Override
                            public void inputChanged(InputChangeEvent ice) {

                                        String inputLine = inBR.readLine();     //Read response from client.
                            }  //End of inputChanged method
                        } //End of inputChangeListener class
                    }; //End of Task definition.
                } //End of CreateTask.
            } //End of Thread/Service/Task Class.
        } //End of Controller Class.

    The first question I'd ask is whether you looked at the examples in the class documentation? The reason I ask that is because if there is an example that is missing let me know and I'll add one (I can't think of an example off hand which directly addresses this question).
    You are successfully setting the message on the service, but you then need to (using one of a number of techniques) wire the 'message' property of the Service up to some UI element. For example:
    Label label = new Label();
    ThrService service = new ThrService();
    label.textProperty().bind(service.messageProperty());
    service.start();(Of course the Label has to be in the scene graph somewhere). The label's text property is bound to the service's message property. Whenever you update the message, the label's text will be automatically kept in sync.
    Now, you also appear to have a problem in your service's task implementation. The problem is that the service will say it has completed almost immediately (I'm assuming the usb-device.addInputChangeListener doesn't block). As soon as the task's call method completes, the Service will think it has finished and move to the succeeded state. The way the Service is intended to be used is that as long as the background operation is happening, it should be in the RUNNING state.
    Which USB library are you using? I'll give it a try.

    The server probably wants you to use the STARTTLS command before you authenticate.
    See the com.sun.mail.smtp package javadocs for the property to set to enable that.

  • Oracle Service Bus SSO with Proxy Service

    Hi all,
    I protect Proxy Service. It means only authenticated user can able to access it.
    But when i want to access from my application server (weblogic), i don't want to authenticate again with OSB.
    Is there any way to use SSO between application server and Oracle Service Bus ?
    With Regards,
    Wai Phyo

    Hi Wai,
    I think it is not supported with OSB. The doc says -
    46.15 Is single sign-on supported in Oracle Service Bus?
    Strictly speaking single sign-on (SSO) is not applicable to Oracle Service Bus messaging scenarios for several reasons. First, Oracle Service Bus is stateless; there is no notion of a session or conversation among multiple parties. Second, Oracle Service Bus clients are typically other enterprise software applications, not users behind a Web browser. Therefore, it is acceptable to require that these clients send credentials such as username and password on every request, provided that the communication is secured by means such as SSL or WS-Security. However, SSO between the Oracle Service Bus Console and the Oracle WebLogic Server Administration Console is supported. For more information, see "Single Sign-On" in "Security Fundamentals" in Oracle Fusion Middleware Understanding Security for Oracle WebLogic Server.http://download.oracle.com/docs/html/E15866_01/security_faq.htm#i1058723

  • SSIS execute process task error on unziping

    Hi
    I am using 7zip to unzip files in SSIS using execute process task. Here is the configuration of the task:
    executable: C:\Program Files\7-Zip\7z.exe
    arguments: e default-o\\servername\livechat\unzip\
    However, on executing package in BIDS, following error is thrown
    [Execute Process Task] Error: In Executing "C:\Program Files\7-Zip\7z.exe" "e \\servername\livechat\7566_20121009.zip-o\\servername\livechat\unzip\" at "", The process exit code was "2" while the expected was "0".
    Can someone help where I made mistake?
    Thanks,
    hsbal

    I have mapped the share to F: and then tested. Unfortunately that doesnt work as well.
    I am getting the following error:
    [Execute Process Task] Error: In Executing "C:\Program Files\7-Zip\7z.exe" " F:\*.zip    -o F:\unzip" at "", The process exit code was "7" while the expected was "0".
    Thanks,
    hsbal
    Seems like a syntax error. Go through this

  • SSIS-Execute Process task Error _File/Process "\\Servername\Foldername\batfile.bat" is not in path

    Hi Sir,
    I have designed the SSIS Package in 2012 Version. and i have deployed into the Integration Server,using Project Deployment Model.
    In the SSIS Pacakge we are calling the batch file using Execute Process task.
    when i am Executing the SSIS pacakge using Visual Studio(Sql Server Data tools) which is working fine.
    When i Execute the Pacakge uisng Sql server Management Studio,after the Deployment i am getting the below Error message.
    ExecProcess task:Error: File/Process "\\Servername\Foldername\batfile.bat" is not in path.
    Thanks for your time.
    Regards
    Prasad

    Hi Prasad,
    When you say executing the package in SSMS, I think you right click on the package and execute it manually rather than execute it through SQL Server Agent job, right? How did you execute the package from the SSMS on DEV server? Have your also deployed the
    SSIS project to the SSISDB catalog on DEV server or you used SSMS tool on DEV to connect to the QA server to execute the package?
    When you log into the Database Engine instance, make sure the credentials you used has access on the shared folder which hosts the .bat file. Besides, I think the issue may be caused by the Windows UAC feature which may lower the permissions level of an
    administrator to a standard user. So, I suggest that you run the SSMS as administrator to see if it works.
