SSRS subscription creating duplicate job

We have this sporadic problem where when we go in to save an edit on a SSRS report subscription, it gives us a duplicate job number error.  When I look at the Jobs in the Agent, there are duplicates, so I need to manually delete both duplicate jobs,
then the subscription save will work.  If we delete just 1 of the jobs, the issue seems to clear for a while, but then reoccurs.  This has happened to us on multiple reports, but not consistently.  The subscriptions look fine.  Has anyone
else run into this?  Any ideas what is causing this to happen?

I have the issue with version 10.50.1600.1 where one unique subscription ID has created three corresponding SQL jobs with the same name but unique job IDs. When I attempt to execute the job manually via SSMS, i.e.  exec
sp_start_job@job_name
=
'0E02285B-4D85-4F5C-92C3-74F44F27B5ED', SQL Server throws the following error:
Msg 14293, Level 16, State 1, Procedure sp_verify_job_identifiers, Line 54
There are two or more jobs named '0E02285B-4D85-4F5C-92C3-74F44F27B5ED'. Specify @job_id instead of @job_name to uniquely identify the job.
So it would be helpful to know the root cause to avoid the same issue in the future.

  • SSRS Subscriptions help

    Hello all,
    I need help in creating report subscription  to run on every Wednesday for Year to last Friday.So we were to generate the report next week, we should generate it for 01/01/2014- 06/06/2014. I am new to SSRS subscriptions. Please help.
    Thanks

     we should generate it for 01/01/2014- 06/06/2014.
    Hi Lshi123,
    In Reporting Services, we can create subscription to send report to specified E-mail address on a schedule. However, the execute time on the schedule cannot be the past date. So in your scenario, we cannot create subscription and generate it for 01/01/2014/-06/06/2014.
    Here are some link about SSRS subscription for you reference.

  • SSRS Subscriptions Issue

    Hello All,
    After the server migration (old-new are identical servers in all aspects including HardWare) the SSRS subscriptions are having issues.
    1. They will run as scheduled but mails are delivered late.
    2. They ran on weekends even though it was not scheduled and not triggered from team.
    3. Job history is not getting updated when subscription run on weekend.
    Workarounds We Did but not solved:
    1. SQL Services restarted.
    2. SSRS restarted.
    3. Manually tested the Subscriptions.
    Please advise.
    Regards, Pradyothana DP. Please Mark This As Helpful if it helps to solve your issue. ========================================================== http://www.dbainhouse.blogspot.in/

    Hi Pradyothana,
    According to your description, the subscription doesn’t work fine when you migrate it from old server to a new server.
    In your scenario, please use code below to find the corresponding job of the subscription, then check if the schedule both in the subscription and the job is the same.
    use ReportServer;
    Go
    SELECT
    c.Name AS ReportName
    , rs.ScheduleID AS JOB_NAME
    , s.[Description]
    , s.LastStatus
    , s.LastRunTime
    FROM
    ReportServer..[Catalog] c
    JOIN ReportServer..Subscriptions s ON c.ItemID = s.Report_OID
    JOIN ReportServer..ReportSchedule rs ON c.ItemID = rs.ReportID
    AND rs.SubscriptionID = s.SubscriptionID
    Besides, since you mentioned the email will be delivered on weekends though it hasn’t been scheduled, you could use Reporting Services trace Log File to find which schedule deliveries this report. Please refer to this article:
    Troubleshooting Subscriptions: Part II, Using the Reporting Services Trace Log File  .
    If you have any question, please feel free to ask.

  • Data loader : Import -- creating duplicate records ?

    Hi all,
    does anyone have also encountered the behaviour with Oracle Data Loader that duplicate records are created (also if i set the option: duplicatecheckoption=externalid) When i am checking the "import request queue - view" the request parameters of the job looks fine! ->
    Duplicate Checking Method == External Unique ID
    Action Taken if Duplicate Found == Overwrite Existing Records
    but data loader have created new records where the "External Unique ID" is already existent..
    Very strange is that when i create the import manually (by using Import Wizard) exactly the same import does work correct! Here the duplicate checking method works correct and the record is updated....
    I know the data loader has 2 methods, one for update and the other for import, however i do not expect that the import creates duplicates if the record is already existing, rather doing nothing!
    Anyone else experiencing the same ?? I hope that this is not expected behaviour!! - by the way method - "Update" works fine.
    thanks in advance, Juergen

    Sorry to hear about your duplicate records, Juergen. Hopefully you performed a small test load first, before a full load, which is a best practice for data import that we recommend in our documentation and courses.
    Sorry also to inform you that this is expected behavior --- Data Loader does not check for duplicates when inserting (aka importing). It only checks for duplicates when updating (aka overwriting). This is extensively documented in the Data Loader User Guide, the Data Loader FAQ, and in the Data Import Options Overview document.
    You should review all documentation on Oracle Data Loader On Demand before using it.
    These resources (and a recommended learning path for Data Loader) can all be found on the Data Import Resources page of the Training and Support Center. At the top right of the CRM On Demand application, click Training and Support, and search for "*data import resources*". This should bring you to the page.

  • SSRS subscriptions in default zone of sharepoint 2013 are not showing in intranet zone and vice versa.

    one of the Sharepoint 2013 site collection has alternate access mappings created. Default site is .com and intranet is .local.
    So when we add SSRS subscription in .com - they are not showing in .local and vice- versa. How do we fix this so the subscriptions are same in both .com and .local.

    Hi spanda,
    Per my understanding that you have configured the alternate access mappings which Default site is .com and intranet is .local. But the subscription in one of the site will not list in another mapped site, right?
    Actually, if you are on a different Alternate Access Mapping other than the Subscription was created on, we will get no subscriptions, Because we are using the method "Microsoft.ReportServices.SharePoint.UI.ManageSubscriptionPages"
    to deal with the logic by creating the value for "m_reportUrl" using the current context of the URL the user is using and passing that to the "SubscriptionListControl".  You can find the code in this article if you have some
    knowledge of development:
    SQL Server Reporting Services ignores Alternate Access Mappings When Checking for Report Subscriptions
    I recommand you to submit an feedback at
    https://connect.microsoft.com/SQLServer/
    If the suggestion mentioned by customers for many times, the product team may consider to add the feature in the next SQL Server version. Your feedback is valuable for us to improve our products and increase the level of service

  • Multiple Duplicate Jobs in Solution Manager.

    Greetings,
    We see duplicates of Job CCMS_CPH_AGGR_DATA_UPDATE and CCMS_CPH_RAW_DATA_UPDATE in our Solution Manager.
    I understand these jobs are used to transfer data from the CCMS monitoring infrastructure to the associated BI of the SAP Solution Manager. The data is written directly to a number DSOs. Job CCMS_CPH_AGGR_DATA_UPDATE should be scheduled once every day and Job CCMS_CPH_RAW_DATA_UPDATE should be executed every hour.
    However, we see huge number or duplicate jobs. I wanted to know if it’s alright to delete the duplicates?
    Thank you,
    Haseeb Ahmed.

    Hi Roland, Thanks for your reply. These jobs are completing successfully and No errors have been recorded. In our Solution Manager System, we see Job CCMS_CPH_RAW_DATA_UPDATE and CCMS_CPH_AGGR_DATA_UPDATE has been created multiple times by user SM_EXTERN_WS. There are like hundreds of same jobs created. Since these are weekly and daily jobs, it does not make sense to keep them all. I wanted to know if its okay to clean-up the duplicates or not? I don't understand why duplicate jobs were created and is there a specific case when once of them will be active? Thanks, Haseeb Ahmed.

  • Email Recipient limits on SSRS Subscriptions - SharePoint Integrated mode

    Hi I hope this is the right forum to post this question in.
    I have had a requirement to setup our users to be able to create and manage there own mail delivery SSRS subscriptions, this is not a problem. However I have been asked to set a limit on the number of recipients they can specify in the "To" field,
    and I am not sure how to do this.
    We are running in SharePoint integrated mode (SharePoint 2010), with SSRS 2008 R2 and I cant find anywhere that I would set this up..... I have had a look through the rsreportserver.config and unable to find any nodes that allow me to set a limit, nor
    have I been able to find it online. SharePoint doesnt seem to have anywhere to set this, and it seems to sit within SSRS.
    The nearest I have got is someone has suggested that it can be limited on Exchange, but before I go down that route I wanted to find out if it is possible in either SharePoint or SSRS.
    Could anybody offer some insight to this?
    Thanks
    Tim

    Hi Tim,
    As per my understanding, there is no maximum number of recipients per subscription limitation in Reporting Services. Just as you said, it depends on the SMTP server. For example, Exchange Server 2013 supports 500 recipients as the Recipient limit. This is
    the default limit for Exchange Server 2013 organizations. Administrators can change this value for their organization.

    Hope this helps.

  • Need to make data driven ssrs subscription?

    spent hours on thickets this week
    Mike Monday 2.00
    Tuesday 2.00
    Mark
    Monday 3.00
    Tuesday 4.00
    Lucy
    Monday 6.00
    Tuesday 7.00
    Hello how can I make a data driven subscription which go mike's info to mike only mark info to mark only like that is there any sample code vailable for situation like this sssrs data driven subscription?

    Hi MarkSubedi,
    Based on your description, you can create an Data-Driven subscription and send email based on the different user you have selectted in the Parameter "UserName" in the report.Before create the data_driven subscription,
    please make sure your SSRS edition will support it (Enterprise, Businness Intelligence), More Details:Features Supported by the Editions of SQL Server
    Data-Driven subscription indeed can do this. A data-driven subscription can provides a way to use dynamic subscription data that is retrieved from an external data source at run time. It can deliver the report to different destinations,
    each of which might receive a different render format of the report and a different set of parameter values on a recurring basis. You must also have a relational table that stores the mapping between destinations(e-mail address or a file share),report settings
    and parameter values.
    I have tested on my local environment and we can create an subcription delivery table to include an column for the User name and another column for the User related e-mail addresses.When you creating the Data-Driven subscription,you can configure
    the subscription by provide the query to this table and assign the values in the query results to special settings in the subscription. Please find the Subcription delivery table you need to create and the steps of Data-Driven subscrition configuration of
    using this table.
    Subcription delivery table(when you want to modify UserName and e-mail address you can just modify this table but don’t need to do modification in the Data-Driven subscription):
    CREATE TABLE TableName
    (UserName nvarchar(50),
    Mailto nvarchar(50))
    INSERT INTO TableName
    ('Mike','[email protected]'),
    ('Mark','[email protected]'),
    ('Lucy','[email protected]'),
    Details steps of Data-Driven subscrition configuration of using this table:
    Specify a data source that contains the subscription delivery table which created like above.
    Specify a command or query that return the list of the user name and the e-mail addresses and then click "Validate" button  to make sure query validate successfully, click next.query that return the list of the user name and the e-main addresses
     select * from TableName
    Specify delivery extension settings for Report Server Email :in the dropdown list select the "Mailto" from TableName, click next.
    Specify report parameter values for Report, Check as below and the e-mail will send based on each UserName, click next.
    Specify when the subscription is processed  by setting the schedule details, click Finish.

  • Create Background Job after data saved in module

    Hello,
    I have a program that has a start selection screen with material group, you enter your data, execute.  When it has finished you get a ALV of sales order with items where you can make changes to dates and other details and save.  I would like to add a save in background option.  Is this possible? I assume it would be difficult because of the container.. it uses a bapi to save sale orders...
    The employees run this job which takes a little while.. at the end of the day.. they go home and of course SAP has timed out.  If they can run it in the background then no problem....
    Thanks,
    AJ

    well, you can pass the data from the same to an other program and submit it in background.
    Just create a job.

  • Creating a job and scheduling a job error in OEM

    Hi, Everyone,
    I am trying to create and schedule a job thru OEM. In the the pl/sql block provide i have given my code like this
    begin
    SET SERVEROUTPUT ON;
    SPOOL C:\RFV_PROFILE_REPORT.LOG APPEND;
    SELECT TO_CHAR(SYSDATE, 'DD/MM/YY HH24:MI:SS') FROM DUAL;
    EXEC PAC_RFV_PROFILE_REPORT.CALL_ALL (200910);
    SELECT TO_CHAR(SYSDATE, 'DD/MM/YY HH24:MI:SS') FROM DUAL;
    SPOOL OFF;
    end;
    i have created the job and scheduled it but i am getting this error:
    Error # 6550
    Details ORA-06550: line 2, column 5: PL/SQL: ORA-00922: missing or invalid option ORA-06550: line 2, column 1: PL/SQL: SQL Statement ignored ORA-06550: line 3, column 7: PLS-00103: Encountered the symbol "C" when expecting one of the following: := . ( @ % ;
    could anyone pls help as this is very urgent.
    Thanks in advance

    Ah, the problem is you are confusing SQLPlus commands with PL/SQL.
    SET SERVEROUTPUT ON; -- This is a SQLPlus command, not necessary here.
    SPOOL C:\RFV_PROFILE_REPORT.LOG APPEND; -- This is a SQLPlus command, in PL/SQL to write out to a file you will need to call the UTL_FILE package to open a file for writing to. Except that the file you write to will appear on the database server, not your workstation, when the scheduled job runs.
    SELECT TO_CHAR(SYSDATE, 'DD/MM/YY HH24:MI:SS') FROM DUAL; -- In PL/SQL you need to SELECT columns INTO variables FROM tables. But in fact I guess you want to write the time to file using UTL_FILE again. However, you don't really need to do this, since scheduler will log the start time and run duration itself.
    EXEC PAC_RFV_PROFILE_REPORT.CALL_ALL (200910); -- This is the SQLPlus equivalent of the PL/SQL command:
    BEGIN
    PAC_RFV_PROFILE_REPORT.CALL_ALL (200910);
    END;
    SPOOL OFF; -- This is a SQLPlus command, not necessary here.
    So to summarise, all you really need is:
    BEGIN
    PAC_RFV_PROFILE_REPORT.CALL_ALL (200910);
    END;
    And the scheduled job will log the start time and duration in the database, which you can find here:
    SELECT * FROM USER_SCHEDULER_JOB_RUN_DETAILS
